Markt.28 in Kaiserslautern

I just ordered. The maki box was good. The beef with brown sauce wasn't. The vegetables were completely overcooked, but there were a lot of them. There was hardly any beef in it, the sauce wasn't good either, and I had to throw half of it away because it didn't taste good. The spicy rice with vegetables and crispy duck wasn't great either; the sauce was swimming in the plastic bag, and there was a thick piece of cardboard inside the plastic bag that was completely soaked with sauce. There was no sauce at all in the sealed box. This could definitely be done better. What a waste of money (almost 60 euros).

So incredibly delicious. I swear, if I could choose a last meal, it would be the vegan Bun Bo Nam Bo. But the sushi, the bubble tea, and really all the dishes are super tasty too! Highly recommended!

The food is truly delicious. Service takes quite a while. The restaurant is also beautifully presented. I always enjoy coming back. The selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes is incredibly large and delicious.

We were thrilled with the food. A huge selection of vegan dishes. Freshly prepared, incredibly delicious, and generous portions. All at a very fair price. The service was friendly and attentive. A dream!

Always worth a visit, great vegan alternatives where you don't have to miss anything

I would have gone in and tried their amazing looking food. Thankfully the waiter asked if it was alright for "cash only". I said thank you and got up and went next door to extrablatt.

For us, this is a place where you can grab a quick bite to eat. I wouldn't go here for wedding anniversaries or similar occasions, but if you're in town anyway and fancy Vietnamese/Asian food, this is a good place. We'd love to eat here again in the future.

I discovered it by chance while strolling through the city center. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I especially liked that the sauce was served separately in a small pot, so you could decide how much you wanted.

Markt.28 – A duck with excellent peanut sauce that you won't forget I'll be honest: When you think of an "Asian restaurant," you often associate it with standard fare, fast food, and sweet and sour fare. Fortunately, Markt.28 is in a completely different league. The shop has a pleasantly modern feel, understated decor, and without the usual decorative chaos. You can tell: This is about the food, not the show. The duck? Really good. Golden brown and crispy on the outside, wonderfully juicy on the inside. But what really won me over were the sauces. They come separately – and in more than sufficient quantities. No token portions in mini bowls, but proper bowls that you can actually do something with. In terms of taste? Absolutely spot-on. Whether fruity, spicy, or classic dark – each sauce has its own flavor and pairs the duck perfectly. Service is friendly, attentive, unobtrusive – exactly as it should be. And the prices are absolutely fair for the quality offered. In short: If you want to eat really good duck in Kaiserslautern, Markt.28 is the place to go. I'll be back – and not just for the duck.

Unfortunately it was very lively and hardly seasoned. A lot of it is probably warmed up in the microwave or the meat was frozen for too long. Too bad

I have been visiting this excellent restaurant for over 10 years. The vegan menu is large and the dishes are all very tasty. Here you can find the best summer rolls - with fresh mango and mint. The employees are always friendly and the prices are absolutely great. Today we had vegan beef soup and a vegan mixed sushi platter. Both were very appetizingly prepared and the portion size was more than sufficient. The food was served very promptly. Thank you very much, we look forward to the next visit! 🙏😊

Update: the sushi is not good…at all. I hope I ordered in an off night because there is no way this restaurant consistently gets 4 stars. Spring rolls were good but baby tiny and for almost 6 euros. I’ll pay for good but not for ridiculous I didn’t even eat all the sushi. I was afraid I would get sick While I was waiting for my food: sure it’s good but I’ve waited 35 mins for a to go order. The restaurant is at 30% capacity. This is not a “quick” experience.

The fact that you can't pay by card in a restaurant is absolutely inappropriate.

We go there often and the food is always impeccable. Nice waitresses. Sushi is freshly prepared, and can vary depending on the number of guests sometimes take a little longer. It's not a fast food place. We recommend the delicious mini spring rolls 6 pieces for €4.40. We can only recommend it.

The sushi is really excellent! It is absolutely recommended! Vegans don't miss out here either. There is an extra vegan/vegetarian menu. Unfortunately, the dishes came one after the other, so we couldn't really eat at the same time.

The fried duck meat tastes good, but the portion size is so small! Rice in the shape of a cube is weird...The rice portions are really small. If you wanted more, it cost €3! The owner was really stingy! I won't come back.

Okay, it's a Wednesday evening at about 645, and I'm looking for some sushi and spring rolls. The tables outside are mostly full, but inside, only three tables have customers, so I'm thinking, "not too busy. This should be a quick takeaway." To my disappointment, the waiter tells me the wait for my food will be about 30 mins. 😭 But I have a craving, so I pay for my order (they only take cash) and go walk around downtown Ktown while I wait. 30 mins later, I'm back but still waiting. Another 10 mins. Seems there's only one waiter, one chef, and one sushi chef. I guess this is a busy night for so few staff! FINALLY, for what seemed like forever, the waiting was over, and my food arrived. After dropping some wooden chopsticks in my bag, the waiter wished me a good night as I headed out the door. Soooo, was it worth the wait, you ask? HECK YEA, it was worth the wait!! My mango roll, salmon and cream cheese roll, and fried shrimp roll were AWESOME! I think it was the best rice I've tasted for a while. All of the ingredients were delicious. And, of course, the spring rolls were fantastic. Additional sauces for the rolls would be a great addition. So I recommend Markt.28 hire more staff and everyone else meet me there with you cash and a pocket full of patience. You'll be glad you did!! Mmmmm....

Food tasted alright nothing special, but we waited for more than an hour without getting served. We ended up complaining, one of the waiters apologized several times. But we were already pissed off and starving.

Absolutely phenomenal Vietnamese cuisine here ... My son likes the sushi but we always are so pleased with the Vietnamese specialties of the restaurant! It's always crowded so a good idea to make a reservation! Everything seems to be made from scratch so we've always had a little slower service here than at other restaurants.

The service was very poor and rude. They also only accept cash, which is inconvenient these days. The food was mediocre, and combined with the service, the overall experience was disappointing. I cannot recommend this restaurant and will certainly not visit again.

The food actually tastes good but I haven't seen such bad service. Doesn't understand German, and if the wrong food was prepared, instead of apologizing, they make very cheeky comments.

I actually enjoyed eating there. But the service has deteriorated so much that I will avoid the restaurant from now on. Orders come very late and in pieces, you can't call this a shared meal. We ordered main courses and sushi. The sushi didn't arrive because they forgot to post it. We also had to wait a long time for our drinks. The store was almost empty that day. Unfortunately very very dissatisfied.

After 20 minutes of failed attempts to get the attention from the waiters (all the guests had noticed my intention except them), I decided to walk to front desk. The girl in the front desk was like the Cinderella, who stuck at the resterant in the Christmas eve. Her noble gaze is so precious that there is no way you can get it before you start yelling at her ear. How about getting out to find your prince and leaving the position for someone more motivated?

Unschlagbare Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten, es gibt eine eigene vegane Speisekarte. Alles von einer außerordnentlichen Qualität. Mein Favorit ist Vega19 (Veganes Hähnchen in einer scharfen Zitronengraß-Soße). Auch die Tees sind sehr gut. Sehr nette und schnelle Bedienung.

I went here often for lunch with my boyfriend. We usually have sushi as an appetizer and I usually order crispy chicken with peanut sauce. Both meals are very tasty. We usually ordered mineral water with soda but they always gave the small glasses (its like for kids in kindergarten) for us to drink. For me, it'd be more proper to give a normal size glass for drinks. Boba tea drinks were not that good. They could improve it better. Other than that, the quality of the food and the service are good, and the atmosphere is excellent. Pricing is okayish. Just need to make the possibility with card payment!! :)

Sehr leckeres Essen, große Portionen. Man muss bei viel Betrieb manchmal ziemlich lange warten, daher 1 Stern Abzug. Angestellte sind sehr nett. Preis ist völlig in Ordnung.

Man wird in einem hellen, angenehmen Gastraum empfangen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich. Die große Auswahl ist typisch für asiatische Restaurants. Leider arbeitet man auch hier grundsätzlich mit Glutamat, was bei der Frische der verwendeten Produkte nicht erforderlich wäre. Die Portionen sind ordentlich, der Preis für die Speisen angemessen. Leider völlig aus der Zeit gefallen: Nur Barzahlung ist möglich.
