We were completely satisfied. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared, the service attentive and friendly. Everything came together perfectly!

We visited for the first time on Christmas Day and were absolutely delighted. In a cozy atmosphere with a lovely window seat, we enjoyed a three-course meal. All the courses were outstanding – high-quality ingredients, superb flavor, and beautifully presented. The appetizer platter with prawns, bread, and other delicacies, as well as the braised ox cheeks and the entrecôte, were particularly impressive. The desserts, including the tiramisu, were also delicious. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Prices are on the higher side, but absolutely reasonable for the quality. We will definitely be back!

Interesting experience… We had a reservation for early evening and arrived at an almost empty restaurant. Unfortunately, we were assigned the most uncomfortable table and asked for a different one. We were immediately told that all tables were occupied and that this was the only one we could have. After asking several times, we were finally given another table. However, better and other tables remained empty for several more hours… so much for the "everything is taken" mentality. We ordered the appetizer, which arrived incredibly quickly. Therefore, we specifically asked for a bit more time before the main course. The main course arrived while we were still eating the appetizer. After we asked for the appetizer to be cleared first, the main course was almost cold when it was served. Otherwise, the service was friendly and efficient. The food quality was rather mediocre for the price. We wouldn't repeat the experience…

We were there on a Saturday evening during the Aachen Christmas Market. I knew from the start that it would be crowded. The food was okay; it wasn't bad, but it was also neither amazing. You got what you ordered. While the dishes had their own special touches with unique garnishes and side dishes, for the price, it was more than disappointing. The service was friendly but often made strange comments that were probably meant to be teasing, but in that context, they came across as rather unfriendly. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable. The bar stools, in particular, made sitting on them a balancing act, and the noisy kitchen created a stressful overall impression.

Unfortunately, the bowl was a disaster – it consisted only of pickled vegetables and a handful of couscous. The shrimp were the only neutral element. We couldn't finish the bowl. Such a shame ☹️ We've always been very satisfied with the food before. It seems to have gone downhill. The prices, however, have remained the same…

I don’t usually write reviews, but this was disappointing. I came here because of the high ratings, but the food did not live up to them. On top of that, I had a really unpleasant experience with the staff — the service was poor, they were very rude, and they even tried to overcharge me for no clear reason. I ended up leaving. Definitely not worth the hype.

We reserved a table for a business lunch. Everything went perfectly! Very polite, attentive, and friendly service. A nice little menu with just the right selection—something for everyone. The food was top-notch, with superb ingredients and combinations, absolutely delicious! The steak and tuna were both fantastic. Overall, a great visit! We'll be back! With their wine and cocktail selection, it's definitely worth a visit in the evening too! 😉✌️👋

We celebrated our civil wedding at Markt43 and were absolutely thrilled. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. We had a champagne reception, a luncheon, and later our evening celebration. The entire team did a fantastic job, and all our guests were very happy. We can also wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for a regular lunch. The food and service are simply outstanding. I would call it: A failed attempt at fine dining. The staff is friendly, the ambiance modern, but we found it very noisy inside, partly due to the music. We kept sliding off the high chairs. Relaxed seating was out of the question. Now for the most important thing – the food: We had vitello tonnato as a starter. The presentation was nice, but the meat looked like it had been bought pre-cut from the butcher. The bread cost an extra four euros… For my main course, I ordered entrecote, cooked medium-rare. When the meat arrived, it was served with the note "Medium Rare." Unfortunately, the steak was almost well-done. The note to the waitress was passed on to the kitchen, but there was no form of compensation. Incidentally, the steak cost €38… My conclusion: I don't understand the good reviews, especially since, in my opinion, the price/performance ratio is off, but I don't really care. I won't be coming back.

Delicious meal. However, the waitress was confused. She may not understand English very well, but to take our order and then come back 5 minutes later to ask if we had chosen is disconcerting. The dishes and cocktails were delicious. However, I was very disappointed with the children's meal. The price wasn't listed on the menu, and they didn't offer a dish with real vegetables (it's not that hard to add a carrot or broccoli to a pasta dish, but still...). The portion was tiny, and they dared to charge me €10 for it?! They were understanding, but I had to insist quite a bit, which is really a shame... Make proper meals for children and stop trying to rip people off with 30g of pasta with a tiny bit of butter for €10. It was like something out of a bad joke.

The food was really good! The appetizer (artichoke, vitello) was superb!! The main course was also very tasty (schnitzel, braised ox cheeks). But unfortunately, we wouldn't come back. We had a table upstairs on the first floor. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and not inviting. The service was very friendly, but somehow a little forgetful. That wouldn't have been a problem in principle, but not when you're spending a lot of money. For us, it was a case of "hmm, we should have just stayed home." You want to be treated like a guest in a way that makes you feel comfortable and want to order more! What a shame.

Very decent food in a somewhat cool interior, with friendly service. The schnitzel was excellent. The lunch menu was also very good value for money. The coffee was also very good. The tiramisu was good. The brownie was a bit dry—it had peanuts, which worked well.

It was really, really good. We had lunch. Sauerbraten goulash for a fair €14. What we got was a new interpretation of the theme: the meat was served with vegetables and pasta, accompanied by a very tasty salad garnish. The service was very attentive and warm. We felt very comfortable – excellently entertained with the finest lounge music.

The taste was very disappointing and simply too expensive: two pasta dishes - tasteless - a bottle of water and two small shandys for €85. Overpriced. Okay for a drink, but better eat somewhere else.

We were at Markt 43 yesterday. The reason for the good reviews is that we had an appetizer plate for almost €50 for two people. Unfortunately, the taste didn't live up to our expectations. I also find the drink prices incomprehensible. A 0.2 liter beer for €3.50 is Oktoberfest level. The wine I chose wasn't particularly tasty either. The service was very good, and my criticism was dealt with very professionally. That was top-notch. The ambiance is nice, and I thought the proximity to the kitchen was great. The chef's announcements were worth listening to. Maybe we just chose the wrong thing, but ultimately, that's all I can judge.

We had a very good meal and received very friendly and courteous service. A lovely evening, rounded off by a very good espresso. We'd love to go back!

The food is quite good, but considering that you have to pay for the bread basket yourself and the drinks are then served on napkins, I think you should be able to expect normal drink coasters in a restaurant like this. The service was rather slow and not very attentive. I was bothered that you weren't given a menu, but had to order via a QR code. Here, too (as with the napkins and the bread basket), you can see that the restaurant is cutting corners. The tables are too small. It's not very comfortable sitting on the high chairs. I didn't like the taste of the water at all; it tasted like stale sparkling water—I would have preferred Evian in glass bottles for guests who drink still water, for example. The noise level was unpleasantly high; better soundproofing would have been desirable. There was a large spider web on the wall above us, and fruit flies were swarming around us. So, even though the food was okay, the overall experience wasn't what you'd expect for the price.

The food is generally good, but the overall impression is unfortunately disappointing. Although we had reserved a window seat, we were given a table inside. The ambiance is unappealing, cramped, and noisy; the loud music further reinforces the negative impression. The service was friendly and quick, too quick for a cozy evening. (We left after 45 minutes.) The food was good and plentiful, but very overpriced; for the price, I'm used to better.

We had a wonderful evening at this location today. The atmosphere at the market is simply special. It feels like you're on a piazza in Italy. The fancy drinks were all delicious, and the service was excellent. Linus, in particular, was super sweet and charming and recommended a very good cocktail to us.

There was a piece of glass in my drink, and I still had to pay for it. Please don't go here!

We visited the outdoor area of Markt 43 last weekend and were very pleasantly surprised. Despite its location in the tourist center, it wasn't a "tourist restaurant" but one with excellent quality food. We tried three different dishes (pasta, meat), and all were of very good quality and beautifully presented. Finally, the Pisco Sour is highly recommended. It's rarely found on a cocktail menu and was very tasty, almost as delicious as the original in Peru.

My girlfriend and I went here for a drink in the evening. Delicious drinks and a great selection! Zac was there for us the whole evening and gave us excellent advice on choosing cocktails!

We ate there for the first time yesterday. It will definitely become one of our favorite restaurants. Great food and very friendly and attentive service. We sat outside yesterday, right in the heart of Aachen's hustle and bustle. For my main course, I chose the tuna. And it was the best I've ever eaten. Absolutely perfect. Very good white wine, and the appetizer platter for two was also absolutely fantastic. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for very good food in Aachen's city center.

I was here again recently to enjoy the truffle pasta, which I've always enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time the visit was disappointing. Right from the start, all the tables directly at the restaurant were marked "reserved" – but they remained empty the entire evening. We finally found a seat and ordered our food, which arrived relatively quickly. However, our dish was initially served to another table. The guests there only pointed out after a moment's thought that they had ordered something else – whereupon the plates were taken back and served to us. Unfortunately, the truffle pasta wasn't very tasty this time: The truffles were soft and a bit mushy – completely different from what I'm used to. When the waiter asked if everything was to my liking, I politely mentioned this. He said he would pass it on to the kitchen and offered me an espresso as compensation, which I politely declined. It's a shame – I was really looking forward to the visit.

Stop by for evening drinks and light meal. We had a glass of wine, an amaretto sour, and shared the market bowl. It was very good. The servers are very kind and seem to a mix of languages. We are definitely coming back. Edit: came back for lunch the next day. And had the schnitzel for a late lunch and it was delicious. Again the staff are amazing very attentive and kind. I definitely recommend coming here.

It's a lovely place to sit on the town hall square with first-class food, attentive waiters, and really generous portion sizes.

It is located in the center of Aachen, so it is easy to access. Most of the menus are delicious, and the pasta is especially delicious. Personally, it was the most delicious pasta I've had in Aachen. I ordered the basic salad, which came in the form of zucchini noodles (麺), and it was so good because it came with a sweet and sour sauce on the day I visited, which was over 32 degrees. I asked about the kids' menu and they said they had pasta today, so I ordered it, and the kids said it was delicious and ate it well~ They explained the menu in detail, and I felt like they paid attention to even the smallest details. It's a place I want to visit again!

The rib eye was so delicious. It's almost the best steak in Aachen. The pasta was chewy and had a strong truffle flavor, just my taste.

The worst schnitzel ever, but good service We ate schnitzel here, but unfortunately it was not a success. The meat had a strange structure, little taste and was fried in too much flour - that is not how a schnitzel should be. The potatoes (Kartoffeln) also tasted sour. We reported this to the staff, and were politely offered another dish. My husband was no longer hungry, but in the end we shared the second dish. The service was friendly and correct, and we certainly appreciate that.

From the bread basket to the aioli to the main course, the cocktail, the wine, everything was perfect. Only the music was a bit too loud.

Etwas lästig der Zwang, die Auswahl über den QR-Code zu bestellen, man muß ewig hin- und herscrollen, heute aber leider oft der Fall. Das Vitello tonnato war sehr sparsam in Sachen Tonno, dafür war das Kalbfleisch übersalzen, die gerösteten Kapern (?) wären frisch die bessere Wahl gewesen. Man sitzt allerdings wunderschön auf dem schattigen Marktplatz, und auch der Service war auf jeden Fall besser als die 3 Eulenaugen.

Edit May 2025: Big disappointment. Poor welcome and expeditious service. We had reserved a table for two people. When we asked if we could sit outside, a waiter replied that everything was full, but several tables of two people remained unoccupied from our arrival until our departure. Then, our dish arrived before our aperitif. We felt like we had to hurry. For a bill of more than 80 euros, this is unacceptable. Too bad because the cocktails were delicious and our dishes were very good too. We do not recommend. Previous review: This restaurant is exceptional! The Aperol Sour and truffle pasta were crazy. The service was also very attentive. Five stars, without the slightest hesitation!

Wir hatten einen Tisch für zwei reserviert. Bei der Ankunft wurden wir erst einmal fünf Minuten lang von allen Kellnern ignoriert und standen „wie Falschgeld“. Nachdem wir endlich einen Tisch hatten, haben wir die Getränke bestellt. Eigentlich wollten wir auch gleich das Essen bestellen, was aber zurück gewiesen wurde. Als die Getränke kamen, stellten wir fest, dass der Aperol Spritz im Bierglas kam und offensichtlich eine vorgefertigte Mischung aus der Flasche war. Das Getränk schmeckte jedenfalls nicht gut. Zum Bestellen des Essens kam es dann nicht mehr, weil sich niemand um uns gekümmert hat, wir nach 50 min enttäusch nach der Rechnung gefragt haben, bezahlt haben und gegangen sind.

We sat on the terrace at the weekend and the atmosphere in the market square was really nice. MARKT 43 really stands out from all the franchise cafés here. The cocktails were delicious and the service was great!

Wow. Just speechless. The best staff I've ever met! The drinks were divine. The best thing I've ever drunk! The waiters were incredibly friendly, nice, funny and helpful if you had a question about drinks. You do your job with enthusiasm and enthusiasm. They make the experience a dream!!! Definitely recommended. Every age group is welcome! Nils in particular is wonderful. He is the best! Incredibly kind, humorous, loving, personable and patient. If you come here, definitely go to Nils!
