MARKT 43 in Aachen

Very nice place with a great view of the square! The drinks were tasty and the service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect to unwind. Definitely recommended, especially on a sunny day! 🍹☀️

We selected the restaurant bases on the menu. That was a bad thing to do! The food was very disapointing and had little or no taste at all. The wine and service was good fortunately. For us still enough reasson not to come back.

Edit May 2025: Big disappointment. Poor welcome and expeditious service. We had reserved a table for two people. When we asked if we could sit outside, a waiter replied that everything was full, but several tables of two people remained unoccupied from our arrival until our departure. Then, our dish arrived before our aperitif. We felt like we had to hurry. For a bill of more than 80 euros, this is unacceptable. Too bad because the cocktails were delicious and our dishes were very good too. We do not recommend. Previous review: This restaurant is exceptional! The Aperol Sour and truffle pasta were crazy. The service was also very attentive. Five stars, without the slightest hesitation!

Etwas lästig der Zwang, die Auswahl über den QR-Code zu bestellen, man muß ewig hin- und herscrollen, heute aber leider oft der Fall. Das Vitello tonnato war sehr sparsam in Sachen Tonno, dafür war das Kalbfleisch übersalzen, die gerösteten Kapern (?) wären frisch die bessere Wahl gewesen. Man sitzt allerdings wunderschön auf dem schattigen Marktplatz, und auch der Service war auf jeden Fall besser als die 3 Eulenaugen.

Wir hatten einen Tisch für zwei reserviert. Bei der Ankunft wurden wir erst einmal fünf Minuten lang von allen Kellnern ignoriert und standen „wie Falschgeld“. Nachdem wir endlich einen Tisch hatten, haben wir die Getränke bestellt. Eigentlich wollten wir auch gleich das Essen bestellen, was aber zurück gewiesen wurde. Als die Getränke kamen, stellten wir fest, dass der Aperol Spritz im Bierglas kam und offensichtlich eine vorgefertigte Mischung aus der Flasche war. Das Getränk schmeckte jedenfalls nicht gut. Zum Bestellen des Essens kam es dann nicht mehr, weil sich niemand um uns gekümmert hat, wir nach 50 min enttäusch nach der Rechnung gefragt haben, bezahlt haben und gegangen sind.

We sat on the terrace at the weekend and the atmosphere in the market square was really nice. MARKT 43 really stands out from all the franchise cafés here. The cocktails were delicious and the service was great!

Wow. Just speechless. The best staff I've ever met! The drinks were divine. The best thing I've ever drunk! The waiters were incredibly friendly, nice, funny and helpful if you had a question about drinks. You do your job with enthusiasm and enthusiasm. They make the experience a dream!!! Definitely recommended. Every age group is welcome! Nils in particular is wonderful. He is the best! Incredibly kind, humorous, loving, personable and patient. If you come here, definitely go to Nils!

Modern location with creative food and a nice service.

I highly recommend market 43. People are very kind and the meals are really of high quality. The ambiance is also cool. Great cocktails. You can go, eyes closed.

We had a reservation, which was a good thing. They stated it was a special "silver wedding anniversary." They couldn't have written anything else. The restaurant had a simple, modern design. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was also very tasty 😋.

Sehr leckeres Essen, schönes Ambiente, schöne offene Küche und ansprechende kleine Karte. Ich hatte Pasta. Mit Lachs und war sehr zufrieden.

Diese Bewertung wurde bereits veröffentlich, jedoch seitens Markt43 aufgrund der negativen Bewertung ohne nachvollziehbaren Grund gemeldet. Für das servierte Essen werden vergleichbar überteuerte Preise genommen, die Portionen sind dafür sehr klein. Auch die Getränke bewegen sich auf einem für Aachen überzogenen Preisniveau. Dazu kam eine ungeduldige Bedienung, die mit ihrer forschen Art eher Stress als ein entspanntes Ambiente ausgelöst hat! Könnte definitiv ein nettes Lokal sein, jedoch wirkt alles ein wenig zu inszeniert, daher leider keine Empfehlung.

As regular guests, we have been visiting the restaurant for a long time. As for the food...still very good quality, minimal compromises...but completely normal and very good quality. Unfortunately the service has deteriorated. Our favorite “waiter” is no longer there and we don’t like the service at the moment. Long waiting times between courses, we repeatedly waited for a long time to ask questions and, for example, for the final coffee. If the two of you spend well over 100 euros there in the evening and are more or less ignored...not so great. Unfortunately, we're going somewhere else for now, Ac has many nice alternatives and we hope that something changes in the market in the future. As written, the dishes were, as always, all good to very good.

We ate here yesterday and were thrilled with both the service and the cuisine. The service is very friendly and courteous and the food is absolutely worth the money. Definite recommendation for an evening of fine dining! *****

Very nice ! Lovely staff and food

Six of us dined. The meals were consistently excellent. However, the seating at this level proved to be a bit cramped. The wardrobe was overcrowded, making it difficult to pick out jackets. Unfortunately, the service overlooked our request. The cleanliness of the women's toilet was complained about. Otherwise a great evening and recommended.

Very nice service and really special dishes to choose from. A very multicultural cuisine but only the best chosen. We had the Angus Brisket and the Wiener Schnitzel and both were delicious! Definitely reserve in advance!

Even though we booked a table by the window a week in advance, they reserved a table as small as a high chair in the corner. He added: "We didn't note that there was a window seat." They said this in a very unpleasant way, as if there was no problem. I won't go again. I wouldn't recommend it either.

Die Karte bietet einen schwer einzuordnenden Mix aus verschiedenen Gerichten. Es sollte für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei sein. Der Service ist sehr gut.

Four of us ate here. The atmosphere is nice and the service is courteous. It's a little tight, but that makes it comfortable. We ate four different dishes. We found three of them excellent. The bread that was brought in advance and the accompanying aeoli were very tasty. However, one of the slices of bread was dried out. This was replaced immediately after the complaint. The restaurant can be classified as upscale, but the price-performance ratio is right.

It may be a bit expensive, but the taste is guaranteed. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff are friendly.

The food is subpar for this price. I have never eaten so badly and so expensively. A glass of wine 0.2 for €8.90, received below the calibration mark, that's not possible. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Da wir schon öfters im Sommer auf der Terasse sehr lecker gehessen hatten, wollten wir zu 5t (Eltern mit drei Studi-Kids) Mitte der Woche für Freitag spontan hier reservieren. Leider war nur auf der (beheizten und geschützten) Terasse noch frei. Da unserevorigen Erfahrungen aber sehr positiv waren, war das ok. Dank organisatorischer Flexibilität und etwas Glück bekamen wir dennoch einen Tisch im Innenraum. Da wir in einen Geburtstag hineinfeierten, gönnten wir uns Apero, Vorspeise und Hauptgericht. Essen: sehr gut Bedienung: sehr nett und zuvorkommend Fazit: gelungener Abend - sehr gerne wieder Vielen Dank ! Laurence (Luxemburg)

Lekker gaan eten na een dagje winkelen en een bezoek aan de Kerstmarkt van Aken. Het is er aangenaam zitten en we werden heel vriendelijk bediend. We kozen voor een rundscarpaccio als voorgerecht en nadien de pasta met truffel. Beiden waren superlekker en mooi gepresenteerd. De bediening was supervriendelijk. We hadden daags voordien gereserveerd via de website wat heel gemakkelijk ging en op drukke momenten wel nodig is.

Online-Tischbestellung. Pünktlich da, Tisch war fertig. Sehr zuvorkommender Service, leckeres Essen mit Tiramisu mal anders. Bei der Käseplatte war der Feigensenf leider nicht mehr da, hat den tollen Gesamteindruck aber kaum geschmälert.

We gingen hierheen voor een late lunch. Ze hebben een beperkte kaart. We namen een Wiener Schnitzel en een Aachner Sauerfleisch met een Bitt erbij. Ze waren beide goed klaargemaakt en smaakten prima. We sloten af met een goede espresso. De bediening was aardig. Goede plek om op de Markt in Aken iets te eten.

A highly recommended upscale restaurant in Aachen. The prices are quite high, but appropriate for the quality of the food. I can highly recommend the rack of lamb. Super tender and juicy. And the cocktails are also very tasty. The service was attentive and friendly. The selection of food is limited, but there is something for every taste. Unfortunately there were only 2 desserts available during our visit, but the tiramisu is definitely recommended.

The food was of a very low standard. Nice and professional service. Pumpkin soup is completely unseasoned, just pumpkin and butter and croutons. The prices do not match the quality and quantity of food you receive. Very noisy in the room, more like a pub than a restaurant. I definitely don't recommend it and we will definitely never come back here. Maybe it's worth coming here just for a drink? Generally, if you are hungry, choose another restaurant.

The restaurant is located in the center and is beautifully decorated. Food is average. Much is ready-made for baking or microwaving. Smooth operation. The high stools are not really comfortable.

I would have actually given 0 stars but unfortunately that is not possible. I found the visit very bad, the waiter who served us (with a long beard and hair) was not only unfriendly but also showed no respect to the guests. Not worth recommending!!

Atmosphere and service in perfect order. However, we thought the food was really substandard. The schnitzel was very very dry, the pasta was basic. The schnitzel costs €29. The taste was comparable to a dry schnitzel that has been in the air fryer for too long. Glad that the waiter forgot to pay for some drinks.

Wie waren schon ein zwei mal im Markt 23 essen und sind noch nie enttäuscht wurden, aber heute am Valentinstag war es mehr als enttäuschend. Meine Frau hatte als Vorspeise die Tomka Suppe und ich den Brotkorb. Schon da meinte meine Frau, dass der Koch sehr verliebt sein muss bei der Salzmenge in der Suppe. Nun ja kann ja passieren, da haben wir auch noch nichts gesagt. Als Hauptgericht gab es einmal die TAGLIARINI TRÜFFEL und das WIENER SCHNITZEL. Die Tagiliarini waren auch sehr lecker wie mein Frau bestätigt, aber leider war diesmal mein Essen betroffen - das Wienerschnitzel war derart versalzen - auf der Panade befanden sich große „Salzflocken“ die ich zunächst für Parmesanspähne gehalten habe. Auf die Frage des Personals ob alles in Ordnung sei - eher nicht wenn das Wienerschnitzel noch mehr oder wenig vollständig auf dem Teller liegt. Auf meine Anmerkung hin kam ein recht patziges „das gehört so“ vom Kellner. Ok ich mag nicht sagen wie viele Wienerschnitzel ich schon gegessen habe (keine Schnitzel Wienerart), aber bei allen anderen gehörten ein oder zwei Scheiben Zitrone und Preiselbeeren dazu, aber keine Salzflocken!! Ich bekam ein „Ersatzschnitzel“ oder einen Kaffee bzw. Espresso angeboten, da meine Frau bereits fertig war mit Ihren Tagiliarini wollte ich eigentlich nur noch bezahlen und gehen. Rechnungsbetrag 109,xx € für eine versalzene Vorspeise und ein versalzenes Wienerschnitzel 👍 Sorry, hättet der Kellner souverän gehandelt und nicht gesagt „das gehört sich so“ - hätte ich dieses hier nicht geschrieben. Ich finde das andere Gäste auf das „Wienerschnitzel nach Art des Markt 43“ hingewiesen werden soll. Tut mir leid, dann geh ich lieber zum Bruder der das „Boulevard 30“ leitet. A very informal place, on weekends there are DJ sets that allow it to be transformed into a mini disco. The food is decent, the staff friendly and respectful, the location a stone's throw from the center. The only flaw is the price and the fried smell that remains on the clothes.

Located in the middle of the old town on the market, Markt 43 is a place where you completely lose sight of the surroundings and time while enjoying the excellent cuisine. The relaxed atmosphere and warm service make every visit unforgettable.

Despite my food allergies, I had a good meal because I received very good advice from the nice waiter and attention was paid to it in the kitchen. What's more, the quality of the food is so good and the preparation is so clean - I'm still thrilled! By the way, my husband liked it just as much. Thank you, I really appreciate a good meal!

Extremely unfriendly, insulted and arrogant waiter. Acts like the boss. Every word, no matter how kind, is taken personally and interpreted negatively. This makes you feel very uncomfortable and unwanted. As long as this person is still employed there, I will not go to this establishment again.

Outside waiter treats his own compatriots like the kings of France (puts lights on the table, drinks on the house, etc). Everyone else is ignored and treated like breeding stock. Just sad.

Excessive prices, insulted waiter. Lots of show and tutu but the quality can't keep up. A Wiener Schnitzel with a dollop of potato salad for 29 euros...we would have expected more.. At least you're sitting in a very nice atmosphere. But you can get that cheaper elsewhere including better food and service.

Delicious dinner in the Rathausplatz of Aachen! We ate two of the pastas (one truffle, one chanterelle) and a meat dish. The cocktails were fun and the vibes on of outside dining were impeccable. There were blankets to wrap ourselves in as it was a bit chilly. Overall, would absolutely be back!

Today we were spontaneously drawn to Markt 43 while strolling past before an event in Aachen. The cozy, modern interior and the friendly welcome invited us for a quick lunch (and to warm up after a rain shower). The service was wonderfully attentive and courteous, the menu in the form of the QR code was simple and easy to understand. There is something interesting to find for every taste. We chose vegan gyozas and chicken cordon bleu. Everything tasted really good and was beautifully prepared. Overall, we felt very comfortable and would go directly to Markt 43 if we visited Aachen again. P.s. the homemade IceTea was perfect! Not too sweet and still slightly fruity :)

It's very nice to sit in and it's very nice to have a drink. I've been there twice now, about a year apart. Unfortunately, the food didn't correspond to the asking price on both occasions. The quality is simply not right.

We started with 21€ for 4 cokes, 50cl per coke which meant that we were no longer thirsty. we came to see the Germany Spain match. We refused to have a second drink, so in the middle of the match we had to leave the premises. Not commercial at all!

Super nice waiter, delicious food. Mega cocktails. I don't know of any other shop in Aachen where you can eat artichokes. We will be back.

Auf dem schönen Marktplatz, vor dem Rathaus…. Schönes Plätzchen an einem lauen Sommerabend. Wir wurden charmant und sehr gut bedient von Ramazan. Das Essen war gut. Die Gyozas sehr empfehlenswert.
