We tried the pumpkin menu and were extremely satisfied! We particularly enjoyed the tarte flambée. I can also highly recommend the rosemary lemonade; just ask for a little more rosemary syrup ;) We're glad we were able to spend a bit of time here while the rain lasted, and we'll definitely be back!

A quick lunchtime snack (pumpkin soup & salad). The food was excellent, and the waitress was extremely attentive, friendly, and accommodating.

Market, a great restaurant right in the heart of Marburg The name of this restaurant probably refers to its central location in Marburg, but it doesn't tell the reader that this is a great place to stop and enjoy truly excellent cuisine. Admittedly, it wasn't quite perfect. The salad had been waiting in the kitchen for a bit too long. But with two more small items (caramelized mushrooms on roasted onion rings), the arrangement on my plate could have been comparable to a Michelin-starred restaurant. However, we mustn't forget that this restaurant is more of a "home-style" restaurant, and the portions are quite large. I really enjoyed the schnitzel. It was definitely tossed in butter. We stopped here on a Saturday evening and were lucky to be offered a table in this very busy restaurant. The very friendly waitress led us into a vaulted cellar; I've never seen anything so wonderful and cozy. Immediately after we were seated, we were asked what we wanted to drink. The menu wasn't overly extensive, and there were many interesting dishes to choose from at reasonable prices. I admit I'm not much of an adventurous person, so I ordered a schnitzel with a creamy mushroom sauce and fries. The food arrived shortly afterward, and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Only the salad didn't make the best impression, but it still tasted great. The very friendly waitress came by several times to ask if we needed anything else. Super friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Very tasty food and a lot of it that you get really full and the price is okay

We received a very friendly welcome and were offered a table. The menu was immediately available, and we chose our food. Ordering was done quickly. The food arrived quickly and was excellent! Tip: Try the iced tea! It's mixed in a special way by the person ordering. It comes in a glass filled with ice. It's accompanied by a small carafe of hot tea and a glass of juice (I chose mango). Everything goes into the glass with ice and tastes great! In the evening (or when it gets cold), you can turn on the heaters outside. We then enjoyed a delicious cocktail there.

The two of us were here and had order number 703 (pork schnitzel). The food was tasty but nothing special; unfortunately, the salad didn't look fresh and tasted strongly of vinegar. Overall, though, it's a good place to sit and eat. On top of that, a guest threw my friend's jacket off his chair without a word, but the restaurant can't be blamed for that...

AWFUL, APPALLING SERVICE! Joined my colleagues for dinner after I arriving a bit later than the rest of the party. I immediately ordered some food as my colleagues had just received theirs. The food never came. The waiting staff forgot to put through the order. I had to sit there and watch everyone eat. No one came to check in on the table for the entire 40mins that I waited for the food. They only came to clear the table afterwards then realised they forgot the order. No apology was even provided by the waiting staff. Terrible service! Would not recommend. You are lucky that one star is the lowest rating that can be given because I wouldn't have even given that!

I happened to be there for breakfast today, and I'd say the offerings are very good and plentiful. I definitely recommend it. The staff is also very nice and friendly. And the café is located in the heart of the city.

The seating at "Market" is pleasant. Located right on Marburg's market square, there's plenty to see and admire if you can snag one of the outdoor seats. The staff is friendly, and the ordering process and wait time for the food are perfectly acceptable. We had schnitzel with tagliatelle and salad. The tagliatelle were excellent, just a bit small. The schnitzel was okay, and the portion size was decent.

Bad service, no greeting card slapped down, waited 15 minutes to order, no one came, then left. I don't know if you're not allowed to sit there if you're alone, it wasn't the first time that I was unwanted as a single person.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Everything went well at first – the menu and order came quickly. But then there was a long wait for the food, even though it wasn't busy. The waiters were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. It has to be said that they definitely deserve a better job. The biggest problem was the manager: unfriendly, condescending, especially towards the employees. She responded to a normal question with annoyance and rudeness. The food was mediocre, and the atmosphere was completely ruined by the manager's demeanor. We definitely won't be back.

This evening around 6 p.m., the Market in the Upper Town was extremely busy – no wonder, given the brilliant start to the 3-Day Marburg! Despite the lively festival atmosphere, the service was as attentive and professional as if it were a private candlelit dinner. I ordered the Pasta Aglio e olio con manzo e peperoncino – a real hit! The pasta was al dente, the beef tender, and the subtle spiciness rounded it all off perfectly. You immediately notice that the food here is cooked with passion, even at such a busy time. The absolute highlight, however, were the waitresses on duty this evening. Not only were they incredibly courteous, attentive, and warm, they practically anticipated my every need – and with a genuine smile, despite the packed house. Such a service experience is rare these days and made my visit unforgettable. Even during the hustle and bustle of the 3-Day Marburg, I felt completely relaxed and well looked after at the Market. That's exactly what top-class gastronomy is all about: outstanding cuisine combined with first-class service – and all in the middle of a lively festival! One thing's for sure: I'll be back – and I highly recommend the Market. Thanks to the entire team.

A good place. To sit. To talk. To marvel. Very attentive, friendly staff. We felt comfortable. Prices are okay. Water is too expensive. The Mediterranean appetizer was very good. The feta cheese in foil was also good (foil is outdated, though). The pasta was over-seasoned. Far from classic fare. The tarte flambée with feta was far too salty. Water must now come from elsewhere to quench our thirst.

Every time I come here, I always order the same dish without hesitation — the salmon tagliatelle, which used to be absolutely perfect. But I was very disappointed with my last order. It felt like they used water instead of cream; my pasta was literally sitting in liquid. Neither the fish nor the pasta had a hint of salt. I tried adding some myself, but it didn’t help. There was zero flavor 👎🏼 I arrived just five minutes before the kitchen closed, and unfortunately, I didn’t send the dish back because I was very hungry — but I could barely eat half of it. On a positive note, the waitress was very attentive and friendly. However, they were also out of Tabasco sauce. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll come back after this experience. I used to love this dish, but now I’ll always remember how disappointing it was.

The food didn't arrive for an hour – that's when we realized we'd been forgotten. Unfortunately, nothing good came of it. We ordered a schnitzel and a salmon plate. The schnitzel was burnt, the fries were completely dry. The salmon and accompanying vegetables were extremely greasy, and the oil was bitter. Because of the excessive rosemary on the dish, you couldn't taste anything at all. It was a greasy plate covered in rosemary – unfortunately, we had to stop eating. Afterwards, we quickly left to treat ourselves to some delicious ice cream... but even now, I can still taste the old grease and rosemary in my mouth. We're truly disappointed.

The bruschetta was a small highlight. Perfectly toasted ciabatta with plenty of tomato chunks, onions, and a good blend of spices. Asparagus schnitzel with potatoes and hollandaise sauce. The schnitzel was definitely pan-fried. 👌 The boiled potatoes certainly deserve their name. There shouldn't have been a single gram of salt added. The hollandaise sauce came from a carton, but it was still of good quality. The homemade lemonade (elderflower) was amazing! The service wasn't exactly overly ambitious but still attentive enough to ask questions every now and then. You definitely shouldn't avoid the Market, but I wouldn't rate it more than average either.

We had two different kinds of flammkuchen and they were both simply delectable. The best we ever had!

We had a pasta dish w feta, sun dried tomatoes, and olives and a pizza (although it was called something else). The pasta dish was the best thing we've had in Germany! Pizza was good too. Loved it!

A day trip through Marburg makes you hungry. The restaurant we chose, Market, was a complete success. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply fabulous. I highly recommend it.

The restaurant has potential, but suffers from deficiencies in cleanliness, service, and culinary quality. The preparation of the food sometimes has serious flaws, which negatively impacts the enjoyment. The sanitary facilities also appear neglected. The staff—with few exceptions—displays little professionalism and at times appears arrogant.

Very friendly staff even though it was a busy day! The food was delicious (but the salad was easily enough for 2!) and the homemade lemonades are also very yummy :) The prices are really reasonable especially for the location right on the market square! Lovely to sit inside in the cool on a hot day 😊will definitely be back!

It was a filling meal, and the steak that came with it was cooked just right and delicious. 3. It’s strange that pizza doesn’t taste good.. It was delicious. 4. The finish is slightly sour, perhaps because of the local beer, but it enhances the flavor of the food. In conclusion, satisfied

Nice location, excellent service, food with potential. The service was extremely friendly, extremely quick and very attentive, even though it was busy. The location was full and very loud. I had a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and a small side salad. The lettuce leaves were very large, a bit difficult to eat. The schnitzel tasted good, but was a bit cold. The sauce was also a bit cold, very thick and could have had a lot more. The fries were a bit annoying, relatively few, only small, short fries, therefore hard and dry. Another guest didn't like his food at all and had it returned. The reaction was perfect, a replacement was provided very quickly, there were multiple apologies and coffee on the house.

Phew! It was relatively empty today when we ate there. The waitresses were very nice and quick too. The food looked good so far and was nicely prepared. I had schnitzel with fries and a side salad. My wife's noodle with shrimps. Unfortunately, the fries were extremely dry, as if they had been warmed up again. The dressing for the salad was a ready-made dressing and tasted the same. The schnitzel was mediocre, but seemed like a finished product. The noodles, on the other hand, were tasty, even if the sauce was a bit “stewy”. But that depends on your taste and how you like it. As an apology for the dry fries, we at least got an espresso on the house, thanks for that! Unfortunately we won't be coming back, but the price and performance are unfortunately not for our taste.

Good atmosphere in the city center.

The Market restaurant offers a very pleasant environment with pleasant lighting, which creates a relaxing atmosphere right after entering. The service was nice and took care of me quickly, in no time I had a menu in my hand. I ordered the classic schnitzel, which was excellent - crispy, well prepared, accompanied by a tasty salad and perfectly seasoned fries. They automatically brought tartare and ketchup to him, which pleased me. The portion was so huge that I couldn't even finish it. The only minus was that on Thursday evening there were only two waitresses for the whole establishment and the bar, which was obvious - they tried, but they couldn't keep up. After finishing my meal, I had to wait about 25 minutes to pay, which somewhat spoiled the overall experience. In summary: great food, nice atmosphere, but sometimes a long wait for service.

Food is really delicious! Basically a nice atmosphere, but when there are a lot of people it is very, very loud. Service staff who grab glasses and bottles at the top and place them on the guest's table is not acceptable. So there is room for improvement here!

Visited by chance, saw the salmon fillet with rosemary potatoes in passing and decided I wanted that too! I am very impressed with the service and the food, the salmon fillet not only impressed visually, it also tasted like a dream! I haven't had such fantastic food in a long time! The menu really has something for everyone and I will definitely have to try a lot of it!😋 I'm already looking forward to the next time! The prices are absolutely reasonable for what you get, both in terms of quality and quantity! Please keep it up! Addendum: Unfortunately, the meat-free dishes, now several times, are not that good! There is definitely a lot of catching up to do here! Unfortunately, salads and vegetables are not as fresh as they should be! Grilled vegetables are cold! It's a shame that such simple things can make the rest of the impression so bad! —> Please “practice” so that you can look forward to the next time!

I had schnitzel, it was probably supposed to be a schnitzel, it looked like a pancake and only tasted like greasy flour, I couldn't eat it, the fries were dark and not edible either. Salad worked. Conditions unfriendly, no sorry or anything like that. It was impossible to reorder drinks as the conditions only drove past. Also all in all very dingy. Never again!!!

Cozy restaurant in the middle of the old town of Marburg. Friendly staff, food and price/performance are okay.

The quality of the food was basically OK. We had tarte flambée and pumpkin soup. Unfortunately the soup was only served lukewarm. Even after the complaint, only lukewarm soup was returned. When we complained again when paying, we got the answer: we were probably out of luck. Overall very unsatisfactory.

We have two excellent ones here Pumpkin dishes are vegetarian too with (meat filling possible) eaten. The service was very friendly and the food was within 15 minutes served. By the way, you can also get Kölsch from here Barrel!

It's very nice and comfortable to sit in the upper town on the market square. The pasta dishes are delicious. Last time we were very hungry and had to wait over an hour for our food, but at least we got the drinks for free. Unfortunately, the Hesse consumer window reports significant hygienic deficiencies, which really puts me off.

Dear Sir or Madam, etc. After extensive analysis, I was horrified to find that we only got our food after waiting for over an hour! Unfortunately, the delay didn't make a very good impression. However, when the food finally came, I was convinced that the food was very tasty and aesthetically presented for the long wait. I can definitely recommend it because the food was very convincing.

As part of a day trip to Marburg, I had a delicious lunch on the beautiful market square - and at absolutely moderate prices. The dog was kindly provided with water and the service was top, even though every table was occupied.

Be sure to ask for your invoice when ordering from this store before paying by card! Last Saturday the four of us had dinner at the market. When we said we wanted to pay by card, the waitress came to our table with the card reader and no bill and put the total amount at €122. This amount was understood by EVERYONE sitting at the table at the time (there were still three of us). The amount seemed a bit high to me, but emotionally I didn't think much of it because I assumed that the billing would be correct. So I added a tip of €3 and paid €125 by card. When the subsequent conversation between us guests revealed that the amount seemed too high to all of us, we asked for the bill. The waitress reacted visibly annoyed and, in a bad mood, brought us the bill, which was a little late, and the final amount was €102. After we made the "misunderstanding" clear to her, she continued to react in a bad mood and refused to accommodate us in any way. Be it with a small voucher or a drink “on the house”. We're all convinced that she gave us the wrong price when we collected it. Whether that was intentional or she misread it and then didn't want to admit it remains to be seen. In any case, she didn't thank us for the €23 tip we unknowingly gave. It remains very annoying and we will avoid this store in the future. Also the question: Is this treatment of guests in the interests of the owner?

Nice location and very nice staff. But honestly, for a schnitzel and fries that come from the freezer, I'd rather eat at home. The hunter sauce was good. The prices aren't too high either.

Marburg's upper town is always worth a visit and with 3 days in Marburg it's even better. So nice musical background. You immediately get a water bowl for the dog. Service friendly and quick.

The food isn't that great now. Many craftsmanship errors lead to a dry, monotonous taste. Salad, meat fries, pasta sauce, everything can be made better.

Im Sommer gibt es viele Tische auf dem Rathausplatz mit guter Sicht auf das historische Rathaus, aber das Essen ist auch sehenswert. Ich hatte einen absolut leckeren Flammkuchen mit wunderbarer Schmandsoße und frischem Ruccola, am nächsten Tag wäre ich am liebsten wieder dorthin gegangen, habe ein anderes Restaurant gewählt und es bereut. Die Market-Küche ist wirklich sehr gut, die Bedienung freund und schnell- obgleich alle Tische besetzt waren.

The stay here was very nice. The Fusilli Feta were okay, too many onions for my taste, which weren't on the menu either. The selection of drinks is also large and good. The toilets were clean.

We spontaneously went here for lunch yesterday (Saturday). We were warmly welcomed and luckily we got a table straight away. Prices are a bit higher, but the price/performance ratio is right here. The menu is very appealing, there is enough choice and there is something for everyone. I chose the spaghetti prawns, my husband chose the apple strudel. Both were very tasty and the portions were large enough to fill you up. Service was friendly. Toilets were a bit winding up a small staircase. We'd love to come back!!

We booked the vaulted cellar last weekend because we were in Marburg for a sporting event. Despite the number of 30 people and a la carte, everything went quite quickly and everyone enjoyed it. I wasn't able to be there at short notice, but I've heard nothing but praise from everyone. Also very attentive service and very good communication with Theresa. Thank you for everything.
