Very friendly service, food was delicious and well worth the price. The atmosphere is also great. Eggs Benedict was super delicious and the cold meat dishes too. Worth a visit! Went back again on 12.10.2025, still great food and service. Still recommended.

Great place, everything is very tasty, five out of five

The food was okay - but the prices were a bit expensive. The Red Bull I ordered was about two months out of date - unfortunately, a no-go for a restaurant. But it was deducted from the bill.

In short: everything was perfect, very tasty food, friendly and efficient staff.

It's a lovely place to sit outside. The staff was very friendly, the selection (drinks only in my case) was very good, and the mango lemonade, for example, was delicious and not quite as usual. For me personally, it's a nice place to meet up with friends.

Delicious brunch, good drinks, and coffee. It's cozy inside, but very warm. One problem is the wasps; there are a lot of them, so they'd have to think about how to contain them, at least in the summer.

A very, very delicious, beautifully presented breakfast. Two plates plus two eggs were enough for three people, and including drinks, we paid a very fair €21 per person. Only the (very okay) coffee was (or tasted like) from a machine, which is a bit of a shame. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The room is a bit large and sometimes dark, and when it gets busy, it can get a bit noisy. We didn't have that problem during the week, though. We'll be back.

It's a bit too loud. We've already suggested serving less bread and rolls for breakfast, and if people want more, serving them later instead of throwing them away.

I ordered rigatoni with white tomato cream sauce. The food was a bit saltier than I expected. And I wanted to order an appetizer with it, but the waitress said, "Unfortunately, I can't bring your appetizer up front since you already ordered the pasta." I didn't find that particularly customer-friendly. Overall, the visit wasn't bad; at the end, she even asked if I enjoyed the meal (very attentive).

We love Mangold, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The food is always delicious and the staff is super friendly. We enjoy coming there regularly. In the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the lovely food. A definite recommendation if you're in Düsseldorf.

We went to Mangold for Corpus Christi brunch. We made a reservation in advance. The menu was good; our dishes looked appetizing and tasted delicious. A generous bread basket was provided; since we couldn't finish it, we were offered bread and rolls to take home. We loved it. Friendly and prompt service, and tables were usually cleaned before each new person was seated. Good value for money. Reasonable and pleasant clientele. We'd be happy to come back.

Nice restaurant, now a long-established establishment, but still quite modern. Solid food, good selection of drinks. Standard prices. The service was attentive and kept a clear overview even in stressful situations. The only downside is the noise level in the restaurant, which is why it loses one star. Otherwise, quite good.

One of my favorite restaurants in Derendorf. Where should I start? First of all, there's plenty of seating both inside and outside, which is really good, especially since the restaurant is usually completely full on weekends. I'd describe the restaurant as rustic and cozy. Culinary-wise, they have practically everything you could wish for. From breakfast to lunch to dinner, you can get everything you want here. I would, however, single out the hot dishes as a highlight. So far, everything has tasted really good. The only drawback might be that there's no parking anywhere nearby. But hey, we're in a city, so if necessary, we'll take the train xD

The food was delicious. Absolutely reasonable value for money. The service was attentive and very friendly. I would happily eat there again.

The first waitress was incredibly unfriendly. She became slightly friendlier when my older friends walked by in suits (I was wearing a dress and running shoes). Later, someone else came along, in a normal mood and very friendly. The dishes we had were all delicious. The menu is small but still a bit confusing. There are meat, fish/seafood, and vegetarian dishes. The prices seem a bit inconsistent (120g octopus €15, 180g €25). (If you order two portions, you also get double the side dishes :D)

We went for breakfast as a family with children and were completely satisfied. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is cozy and child-friendly, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The price is absolutely fair for the quality offered. We'd be happy to come back!

I was there for breakfast, Eating and drinking perfectly fine. Ambiance cozy. Was the only customer on site and thought the service could have been a little friendlier. Unfortunately there wasn't even a grin on my face and I thanked them every time and gave a tip. Maybe you had a bad day.

Mangold has been an institution since I moved to Düsseldorf. The food is always delicious and the dishes creative—there's something for everyone. Unfortunately, I've had two dismal experiences with the service in the past, and both times I promised myself not to return. This time, too, the menu lured me back. Conclusion: one drink was served in 2.5 hours, after which we were ignored. This resulted in a rather meager bill; card payments are only accepted for amounts over €10. When I mentioned that we would have liked to order more, I received a very snide comment that the service staff was on call at any time. Oops—my husband is a restaurateur, and I know that the service staff should also be interested in hospitality and/or additional sales. Spending 2.5 hours over one drink was definitely not our plan. Dear Mangoldies: the fact that I've had negative experiences with the service three times can't be a coincidence, can it? Or do you not welcome guests who aren't regulars? By the way: tips are often generous (at least for me) when I feel I am welcome and the restaurant wants me to be well looked after.

The food was very tasty and so was the wine. The ambience was a bit lacking as it was very loud. But this is probably more due to the guest groups. Service was very friendly, not too intrusive, but very accommodating. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful aquarium

We spontaneously made a reservation for 3 people at 7pm on a Friday evening as we had previously been treated very badly at another nearby restaurant. We were given a very friendly welcome, got a great seat and cards were brought to us very quickly and the drinks (Aperol Spritz and lillet Rosé peach), which were made from high-quality ingredients, were quickly brought to us. We were given very competent and extensive advice when ordering food. The menu doesn't offer a large selection but whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian or fish eater, there's something for everyone. The pasta was all dente, the beef was on point and tender. We would have liked to try desserts, but they didn't fit anymore. We spent many hours there and felt very comfortable. And even though the prices are a little higher, the food, drinks and ambience are worth it. It won't be the last visit for us. Thanks to the team

this is one of my favorite places in Düsseldorf. Good homemade food, I love that you can see the kitchen, fair prices, fast and polite service, always with s smile, which is rare in Germany. I'll be back, especially for brunches. They also accept reservations, unlike other brunch places that don't accept it and you have to wait to be seated.

The service staff is very friendly and quick. The menu selection is good and varied. Everyone has found something for themselves. We had Duroc pork schnitzel with fries. Potato and celery pü with pike perch, cheeseburger and starters (burrata with baked pumpkin, hummus). The portions are good. We enjoyed it very much.

Went there at short notice on Monday with 14 people and everyone was very enthusiastic. The food came quickly, even though the place was full, and was very tasty.

The seven of us (team dinner) enjoyed a wonderful evening with excellent food. From the reception to the farewell, we were served in a friendly and courteous manner. Afterwards everyone is sure that they will come back with family and friends. Thank you for that, dear Mangold team.

In my opinion not worth the price. The food was very poorly seasoned - when I wanted to swap a simple component of the breakfast, they weren't prepared to make any compromises. All in all, I unfortunately regretted spending my money here.

From the telephone reservation to the payment, everything was great. The food was also very tasty, with something for every taste and hunger.

I subsequently increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars. For 2 reasons: 1. Just because I personally didn't like the style of the furnishings and therefore gave the ambience one star less, that doesn't justify giving one star less overall given the great food and service. 2. Because the Mangold team asked what they could do better to get another star from me. This shows the willingness to self-reflect, to want to improve and to face criticism.

Now I really have to concentrate and do the math: we've probably been visiting the Mangold in Düsseldorf for more than 20 years. This is simply because the quality of the food has always been and continues to be beyond any doubt. With the excellent staff in the kitchen, Mangold is back to its former strength - the service is beyond question anyway. In short, a reasonable dining experience for people who also keep an eye on value for money. And before I forget - anyone who knows me knows that it is incredibly important to me that Mangold serves breakfast until 4 p.m. every day!!

The Mangold is always worth a visit, eating from the lunch menu today, a crispy, delicious duck leg, perfect for the 'third' day of Christmas. All around us there was a fun breakfast, a cozy and relaxed atmosphere and attentive service. And next time we have to try the cake 👍🍰

The restaurant convinced me from A to Z. Service team, cuisine simply great. The food was very good even if it was lukewarm. I can really recommend the restaurant.

One ordered a cheeseburger with fries. The fries cost around €5 extra, which I find a bit cheeky considering the €17 cost for citizens. Unfortunately, the bun was very dry and it crumbled when you bit into it. In addition, the citizen had apparently been standing on the counter for a while, the bun was already cold and the patty was only lukewarm. The cheese had also become hard again when the citizen arrived at my place. Otherwise the citizen was OK. Meat was good, toppings were right. Fries were good too. The "plate" in the fast food aesthetic was also rather inconvenient, I think I wasn't the only one at the table who had to involuntarily eat some of the paper on which the food was served with my meal. Overall, I would have expected better quality for the price. The hard, dry bread in particular weighed down the burger significantly. Service was nice.

Busy busy. Stood at the entrance for at least 10 minutes, and nobody came over to ask if I have a reservation or not. If you don't have a reservation, they don't even bother to try and find you a table.

Very nice restaurant, pleasant crowd. You can talk in peace. Great lunch. The prices are absolutely fair. Had stew with beef balls and pinsa (foccacia pizza?! - can't describe it better) with pumpkin and goat cheese, both were delicious and plentiful. For dessert, warm chocolate cake with a liquid center - perfect. Delicious Füchsen Alt on tap. Gladly again!

Update 05/2024: Prices are now reaching a level that brings with them high expectations. Cheeseburger with fries €22, pork schnitzel €23, large cola or apple spritzer just under €5. The service is very friendly and the ingredients are sustainable. However, not everything is right when it comes to preparation. Temperature, cooking time and portion size as well as freshness could be optimized. The schnitzel used to be one of the best in Düsseldorf, but I can't think of it anymore. All restaurateurs had to increase, but for this restaurant it is now really too expensive for us.

Small menu but something for everyone. I haven't tried everything yet, but so far everyone has been more than satisfied, a very good recommendation. PS service is also great. Only ambience is a bit cool.

It should be a bowl with minced beef, vegetables and a poached egg. The meal came with spaghetti without mince and sweet. I think it was the leftovers from lunch. It just shouldn't be sweet. It's a shame, it was a first. Chopped food was mixed in with it.

Had breakfast there for the first time today. What should we say? A lot of money was spent not really being able to top the bread. We had breakfast sausage and breakfast cheese. Half a slice of medium-aged Gouda was made into two slices. A small corner of Brie cheese and a slice of other cheese, a boiled egg, that's it for the sausage platter it's called a slice of ham. This slice was half a slice of ham from a whole one. Food looks nice etc but it's just too chunky to top the bread or rolls with.

Ich bin heute morgen mit meiner Freundin spontan ins Mangold frühstücken. Für 10€ das Good Morning Wurst, lässt mehr als zu wünschen übrig. Es einfach nur erschreckend. Brötchen sind billige aufback Brötchen Anstatt 1 Scheibe Brot, bekommt man 1/2 Scheibe Weißbrot, 1/2 Graubrot, 1 Scheibe Mehrkornbrot 1 gekochtes Ei, halbe Scheibe gek. Schinken, halbe Scheibe Putenwurst, 1 Scheibe Serano und 4 ganz kleine Scheiben getrocknete Salami die schon zum Teil braun ist, und 1 Stück Butter für alles. Ich bin wirklich sprachlos. Der Kellner sogar noch total unfreundlich. Das MANGOLD IN DÜSSELDORF NICHT EMPFEHLENSWERT UND HIER NIE WIEDER. Sparflamme hoch drei und unfreundlich

A pearl of Düsseldorf - Mangold has been around for 20 years now and remains a top address in the Rhine metropolis. We had very good food here - vegan falafel salad for the adults and fries with schnitzel for the kids. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Always a pleasure when I'm in Düsseldorf and looking for a special restaurant.

Delicious food, good service - solid selection!

Nice start to the Sunday with the most delicious breakfast! We made a reservation the evening before and then spontaneously stayed outside because the weather was so nice. Our breakfasts were very tasty (Mangold & Great Morning) and the service was great. The selection is large and varied. The outdoor area is large. The prices for food are relatively high, but the drinks prices are okay.

Restaurant with outdoor area, slightly rustic furnishings with darker furniture, delicious food, e.g. E.g. cheeseburgers, but also schnitzels and salads. Very friendly service. Ground level toilets. The only downside is the acoustics. The restaurant is busy and the more people talking at the same time, the louder the background noise is when you're talking. If you want to eat with more than 2 people, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance.

Such a great restaurant! I have rarely been to such a great restaurant in Düsseldorf. In summer weather you can enjoy your meal outside! The pasta dishes are incredibly delicious. Thanks to the friendly waiter with the Chucks for the wonderful and friendly service!

Absolut fantastisch. Hatte die Fisch Tacos bestellt und was ich dachte ein kleine octopus gegrillt. 2 riesige tacos mit ganz viel Fisch Füllung dazu leckere Avocado Creme und Soßen . Perfekt. Danach noch besser gegrillte octopus „kleine“ Portion mit Kartoffel Kapern wilde Oliven Salat. Leider nicht geschafft. Super Service tolle Weißwein offen. Bin morgen wieder hier
