This was my third visit to Mangal’s Kitchen and I came back especially for their Gobi 65- absolutely worth it❤️ We also paired Chicken Hyderabadi with Bhatura and it was amazing!

The food there was absolutely delicious and service was amazing.

Very tasty and a very nice ambience

Four of us were at the restaurant yesterday. We first asked for starters. Then we were offered a two-piece platter with four different starters for a whopping €19. We said OK... then the horror really came... see picture. I sent this strange platter back because, in my opinion, it simply wasn't a starter. Then we decided to order the main course straight away... it honestly took 45 minutes before we could eat. The food itself was average... and really mediocre... nothing magical... nothing delicious passed our lips. Lots of paste and not much freshness... Unfortunately, I won't be coming here anymore.

We had dinner there yesterday and were absolutely thrilled. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic! It was delicious and more than plentiful. The value for money was excellent. We'll definitely be back.

We dined here again, this time with a larger group. From young to old, everyone was completely impressed with the food.

Delicious Indian food at Mangal's Kitchen

Enjoyed Mangal's Lunch today. A selection of four small dishes (vegetarian + with meat) plus rice, yoghurt and naan are available. I was very impressed with the taste. Recommended. I'll be back.

Food was very good, large portions, well seasoned. Service was friendly, the ambience was a bit old, such as wobbly chairs and little decoration, but that's in the eye of the beholder. Definitely recommended

For me the best Indian restaurant in Hanover. Nice ambience, friendly service and super tasty food. The great variety of flavors, high-quality ingredients and perfect preparation make the restaurant stand out from the competition. In addition to the “classics,” the not-too-large menu also includes creations that you won’t find on every corner. The lamb biryani is my favorite among the main courses. At lunchtime there is also a great and fairly priced lunch offer.

Top recommendation! Really delicious Indian. Very friendly service, food tastes fantastic, price is right. Food is freshly prepared (and therefore takes a little longer to be delivered). Atmosphere very pleasant & not too loud. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Treated disrespectfully - never again! We were really looking forward to a lovely evening at Mangals Kitchen and made a reservation two days in advance. But when we arrived there was no sign of it. It seemed as if our reservation had been lost - without comment, we were seated at a table for four in the middle of the room, directly between two large, loud groups. The noise level was unbearable and our evening was ruined right from the start. When two quieter tables by the window became available, we politely asked to be moved. The waiter immediately blocked us and said that the tables were reserved - even though we had also reserved them ourselves. A second waitress gave us the same cold rejection. But then came the moment that really stunned us: First, guests without reservations were seated at exactly these “reserved” tables. Later, an older gentleman who was sitting right next to us and who also complained about the noise was allowed to move to a newly vacated table without any problems. We, as younger guests, were ignored and treated disrespectfully. When I paid, I spoke directly to the waiter about it. But he just stammered around, didn't know anything about our reservation and couldn't give any explanation. No apology, no compensation – just a half-hearted “We’ll do better next time.” The food was mediocre and definitely no consolation for this disrespectful treatment. An evening full of disappointment and anger. We will definitely never set foot in this place again.

Mangals Kitchen offers solid service, and the food arrived quickly. Unfortunately, the dishes completely lacked the typical spiciness for an Indian restaurant. We also found it a bit unusual that only one portion of rice was served per table, even though the menu states that rice is included with the main course. There were two of us and we only got one portion of rice, and a group of four people only got one portion. It can't be the case that you get a portion of rice as an individual and the four of you at the table only have to share one portion. That would be a well-intentioned suggestion for improvement. Overall, the visit was okay, but there was room for improvement.

Whether it's lunch or dinner, we love coming here! The normal menu has a very good selection of vegetarian dishes and so far I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. Particularly noteworthy is the lunch menu, where you can choose up to four different dishes from a separate menu, each of which you receive a small bowl of. There are just as many vegetarian dishes as there are meat or fish dishes. Served with a portion of rice and half a naan, you have the perfect opportunity to try out the different dishes. The facility invites you to linger, I can highly recommend a visit here.

The Mangal's Kitchen has a pleasant atmosphere that initially sets the tone for a great dining experience. Unfortunately, the service is severely lacking and diminishes the overall appeal. Indian customers, in particular, are treated disrespectfully, as though they are dining for free. This attitude, combined with the staff's inattentiveness and delayed service, leaves much to be desired. One of the major issues is the lack of transparency about kitchen timings. For instance, guests are not informed when the tandoor closes, leading to situations where customers are denied freshly made items like rotis. Despite an advertised closing time of 10 PM, the tandoor is turned off by 9:30 PM, leaving diners with limited options or then poses as they are obliging the diners. Such practices reflect a lack of respect for guests and a dismissive approach to customer satisfaction. Moreover, the quality of food is questionable. For example, the dal served to us appeared to be old and preserved, resulting in an upset stomach—a concerning sign for a restaurant of this stature. Overall, while The Mangal's Kitchen may offer a good atmosphere, the poor service, lack of customer care, and questionable food quality make it a disappointing experience. It is clear that significant improvements are needed in both service and food standards to ensure a better dining experience for all patrons.

The restaurant is delicious and comfortably furnished. If the restaurant is full, there may be longer waiting times for food.

The two of us had dinner here. Both dishes tasted good, were plentiful and were reasonably priced. The naan bread we had beforehand was also very good. Only the service was a bit "stuffy", but also ok.

We ordered online and taste was good. Lamb nihari was super. Gobi65 was bit spicy but good. Chicken biriyani was also good.

Previously I have given 4 out of 5. But due to the recent degradation of food quality and hygiene I have to reduce the rating to 2 out of 5. I used to be a customer for last 5 years. But, for last few months I start avoiding it and I won't recommend others anymore. Infact, I used to visit multiple times, alone or with my friends within a week. But now I stopped visiting the place. The reasons are: 1. They provided chicken instead of paneer curry. I am vegeterian. Next day morning I had a flight to USA. I had to cook late night. They must be careful. 2. All the curries of chicken and paneer are the same. They are kept near the entrance to the toilet downstair and the place stinks. Not at all hygenic. 3. Recently, I ordered Paneer Puktan online. I mean what was that? Some paneer with red chilli powder. I could not eat 30% of it. I hope you would improve the quality soon.

Tried the thali lunch at lunchtime. Highly recommended for anyone who doesn't know Indian yet, as you can try 4 portions, lamb, chicken, fish, vegetarian. All very tasty. Nice Indian atmosphere and friendly service. We'll be back.

The four of us were there for lunch for the first time today (Saturday), but we will definitely be back. Had the Thali Lunch 4 times, each in different combinations. No matter what you take, you can never go wrong, everything is delicious. 👍

Worst food, stale meat which makes you upset , I was on a huge journey , decided to take a pitstop at this restaurant but the food was very pathetic , gave 18.5€ for lamb biryani the meat was frozen very old meat , also chicken vindaloo was was written spicy but was sweet with food colouring, but ambience was good and service was good , I would definitely not recommend this place too over price, but pathetic food

Very tasty Indian food! The naan is great as are both main courses we ordered. Large portions at reasonable prices. There is also a nice atmosphere and very friendly waiters. If I come to Hanover again, I'll definitely come back :)

Tried Biryani, Mango Lassi and Papdi chaat there. Papdi chat disappointed me. I was craving for something closer to the street food we find in India. But it was barely close. It could have tasted better with some green chutney and round-flat papdis. But Lassi was wow! Biryani came with some curry and Raita. The taste, smell and texture of Biryani was surprisingly good, although the veggies in it were different than what's traditionally added. The way they served it, in a curvy pot sealed with some bread was not a usual sight. The owner was young and chatty unlike most owners in other restaurants that I tried. When they learnt that I found papdi chat disappointing, they shown willingness to serve another substitute dish, that was unexpected but nice. I liked the box too in which they packed the leftover food. What I didn't like is that they didn't light up the candle and they didn't serve that Biryani quick. I would love to go again.

We had reserved a table for 8 people 3 weeks before. Except for a few areas, the room is very tastefully decorated and comfortably lit. When we entered the restaurant at 7 p.m. sharp, I couldn't believe my eyes. We literally got the worst table in the room. The light was so bright at this point that it was difficult to read the laminated menus as the reflected light was blinding. In addition, the board was set up in the middle of the room, which was really uncomfortable. After half an hour a waiter actually came and asked if we wanted drinks. Since we had enough time to study the menu in half an hour, we were able to place the entire order. We ordered various starters and additionally 2 portions of Nan with dips and of course the main courses. The drinks came after about 10 minutes. When we still had nothing to eat at 8 p.m., I asked if we could at least have the bread. After the waiter told us that this would only come with the main course, I went to the counter and asked to have it in advance, as ordered. The lady went into the kitchen and a few minutes later (now more than an hour after we entered the restaurant) we received the soups we ordered and the long overdue bread. We weren't asked for any other drinks - but well - we can also order without being asked. The main course came shortly after 9 p.m. I have to say that food was really delicious! Unfortunately, one of us (she didn't have a starter) had hardly any appetite left after waiting for 2 hours. When we paid, the waiter told us that the kitchen was understaffed today and that was why everything had taken so long. He could have communicated this occasionally while offering us more drinks. Conclusion: despite the really good food, I left the restaurant thirsty and in a bad mood. The good cuisine invites you to give it a second chance. But then I have to go there without my partner. She doesn't want to go here anymore. I am by no means a notorious complainer (read other reviews of mine) But this restaurant visit was a real disappointment.

I dont know how come this place is 4.5 rating. My experience was bad. There is hair in my food [ which they try to compensate by giving me free meal]. Two times, I was waiting at the desk and not even got attended by anyone. Food is average. I will not recommend this. Please save your time.

Very well located and highly recommended restaurant. It was easy to make a reservation and the service was very good. They have lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. I would reccomend this place for some authentic North Indian food. We had paani puri, paneer pasanda and Cauliflower 65 all of them were very delicious and perfectly done. Portion sizes of the main dishes were good but it would have been better if the number of paani puris were more than 4 pieces. Overall I had a good time and an enjoyable experience.

We wanted to try Mangals Kitchen. The welcome wasn't particularly friendly. We waited a while for the cards. When these were finally brought we waited again, but unfortunately we were not served. We then decided to leave because it was very cold at the table by the window and we didn't like the ambience or the non-existent service. We can't say anything about the food, but a good visit to the restaurant starts with the greeting. A pity!

Sehr leckeres indisches Essen, schönes Ambiente und freundliche Bedienung. Ein rundum stimmiges Bild und ich kann jedem einen Besuch empfehlen. Alles was wir gegessen haben hat wirklich gut geschmeckt. Die Schärfe ist relativ an den europäischen Geschmack angepasst, sodass medium scharf für mich etwas zu lasch war. Da kann man sich ja aber heran testen :)

Das Essen war lecker. Die Portionen sind sehr groß. Die Geräuschkulisse ist etwas unangenehm. Man kann sich nicht gemütlich unterhalten. Am Nachbartisch war ein Hund. Im Gastraum eines Restaurants haben Hunde nichts verloren.

Das Essen war spitze. Das Ambiente war stimmig und modern. Leider war es sehr laut und deshalb ein bilaterales Gespräch anstrengend. Der Service war ok, bis zur Bestellung mussten wir gut 15 min warten.

Ate Eggplant based dish south Indian style not too spicy just about the right level of spiciness. My German manager loved it, he in fact took me to it. We ate it with a bit of rice and garlic naans. Rice is served along with the main curry based dishes.

TOP Essen, aufmerksames Personal, man muss nicht lange warten. Einziges Manko sind die viel zu engen Toiletten. Man muss sich schon fast in die letzte Ecke quetschen um die Tür von innen aufzumachen. Aber sonst total empfehlenswert 🥰

Klasse Inder mit authentischer indischer Küche. Jedes Mal kommen wir gerne zu Mangals. Das Restaurant bietet Gerichte aus vielen Teilen Indiens. Die Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten ist ebenfalls standesgemäß sehr gut. Es wird frisch und mit sehr vielen Aromen und Gewürzen gekocht und gespielt. Klare Empfehlung: Das Mango Lassi

Ein sehr netter Service in einem gemütlichen Restaurant. Das Essen war reichlich und schmeckte. Mein Gericht war zwar nicht ganz so, wie erwartet, aber damit konnte ich leben.

Ich hatte ein Gericht mit Lammfleisch, welches ohne Fleisch besser gewesen wäre. Frisches Lammfleiscas riecht wenig und ist zart. Meins roch und war kaum zu schneiden - eher Hammel. Meine Begleitung hatte das Gericht mit Hühnerfleisch und es war lecker 😋. Das Ambiente und die freundliche Bedienung hat mir gefallen.
