The food is great! Fresh, authentic... The staff is super friendly and professional. The place is a bit cramped for me; at a larger table, you can barely move around due to the rather large chairs, but the chairs are very comfortable. It's almost always very busy. Reserving a table is recommended and definitely worth it!

We ate at Ganesha yesterday for our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, we wanted to eat outside, but Indra wasn't on our side and went all out, making it rain heavily, but that's not the restaurant's fault. After getting soaking wet, we managed to snag a seat inside. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. The time between courses could have been a bit shorter, but maybe that was due to the weather and we were forgotten outside. We will definitely come again and eat inside.

They ask if the food is familiar and, if necessary, provide an explanation. We were also surprised by the question about how spicy we would like it. We were also impressed by the consistent friendliness. We always enjoy coming to Ganesha. There's also an outdoor area.

I only had a quick bite 20 minutes before closing, so I didn't have time to order anything more substantial. Very friendly service, a nice atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside. The food is plentiful and very tasty. It's not cheap—I paid over 20 euros for my small dishes, but it's worth the trip and trying these delicacies. I'll definitely go back to try more dishes.

We were there for the first time on Thursday (July 17, 2025). We know the restaurant from "My Local, Your Local," and it was clear to us that we would visit you whenever we were in Hanover. We were very impressed with your food, even though the starters arrived a little late 😉 That was also due to the large number of people. What we also liked was your hospitality, which leaves a lot to be desired in some other restaurants. We have decided to visit you again. Keep up the good work, you are a great team.

We had reserved a table for a Friday evening. When we arrived, the restaurant was already busy, and we were immediately, rather rudely, informed that we couldn't sit outside, but they still had a table inside...neither of us asked to be seated outside, but only for our reservation. After ordering, we had to wait almost two hours for our food, like a few other tables. No one even asked why it was taking so long or apologized. They didn't even ask if we wanted anything else to drink. When I politely pointed out to a server that we hadn't received our food yet, she just gave us a strange look and left. Our starter was tasty but cold. Our food was also only lukewarm, didn't taste like much, and the portion was really small. But after so long, we weren't really hungry anymore anyway. So, all in all, an unpleasant experience! Things like this can happen from time to time and aren't really a big deal, but then you have to talk to the guests and maybe apologize.

I've rarely eaten Indian food before, but this restaurant absolutely blew my mind! We went there spontaneously over the weekend, and the food was simply unbelievably delicious—by far one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! 😊

Super friendly service. We had soup for starters and a chicken dish and a lamb platter for main courses. It was delicious and spicy as requested. During the ordering process, we were asked to specify the spice level, which is how it should be. We had a lovely evening and finished it off with dessert, and we've decided we'll definitely be back.

Anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine has come to the right place. You'll receive a warm welcome and good advice on your meal selection. We had three different starters, all of which were excellent. Then there were preheated plates and six delicious hot main courses, each with their own preference... mild, medium, spicy... very tasty. We also had rice and the delicious naan bread... mmmm! The mango lassi is highly recommended. We would have loved to try the desserts, but we were wonderfully full. Many thanks to the owner of the restaurant; we had a wonderful, aromatic meal and will definitely come back. So don't let the area with its allotment gardens scare you off; it's worth eating at Ganesha.

We ate at Ganesha for the first time, having always eaten in the plenary room, and now they're open. The service is really great, and the food was delicious. It's not as spicy as at other Indian restaurants. I recommend ordering very spicy. Suggestions for improvement: I thought the amount of chicken was quite small for the price. I was still hungry afterward. And we looked at the menu online and here on Google beforehand. Unfortunately, the menu prices are incorrect—neither on the website nor here on Google. I think the current prices should be listed. That's a key factor in choosing a restaurant. My dish costs €15.90 according to the menu here, but it was €2 more expensive in the restaurant. Otherwise, great. :-)

Great restaurant. We received a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The hostess was super friendly and authentic. The ambiance was cozy and beautiful. We really wanted to visit the restaurant after the broadcast because the food looked so delicious. And we were thrilled 🤩. Very tasty, varied, and oriental. If I could point out something, the garlic naan could be a bit cheaper ;-) The price for a main course, including the naan, is around €25. You should reserve a table in advance, as it was quite busy.

We had a really good meal there and were served by a very friendly staff member.

Idyllic location in the middle of a huge allotment garden (a former clubhouse, nicely decorated in Indian style). An oasis with croaking frogs instead of car noise. A large terrace with evening sun until sunset. The mixed starter was super delicious (those crispy potato slices! 😋) and very plentiful. The main course (I think it was a vegetable jalfrezi) was rather standard, a bit too oily. The owner is truly exceptionally friendly and approachable.

The food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance: an allotment garden inn on the outside, an Indian restaurant on the inside. For the second round of drinks, we had to actively draw attention to ourselves, so we'd be a bit more aggressive. 😉

It's probably even nicer in nice weather, as there's also a great terrace. There's also a large parking lot. And you can pay with an EC card. 100% recommendation.

Excellent! Incredibly delicious! Very friendly team, food perfectly balanced! The PERFECT Chicken Madras for me! Finally, something decently spicy. Not too spicy, but I personally also eat a tablespoon of sambal oelek because I like it and find it only pleasantly spicy...so everyone has their own "spicy taste." The "Curry Shorba" soup is so wonderfully tomatoey and creamy! And then the cheese naan to go with it...absolutely delicious! We also had tandoori chicken and butter chicken. The meat was beautifully juicy! Beforehand, we also had "Murgh Pakora - deep-fried chicken breast in chickpea flour batter." This came with three wonderful dips. A fantastic taste experience. The mint sauce was very refreshing and now even more flavorful - top! When the owners opened a second shop, the new chef unfortunately didn't manage it so well. We're all the more pleased that everything tastes so wonderful again! For us, one of the best Indian restaurants in Hanover! Please keep up the good work!

We're a crazy couple from Leipzig and we love watching "My Local, Your Local." We saw Ganesha last Monday and spontaneously decided to try it ourselves after reading the reviews. We opted for the tandoori chicken and mango ice cream. An excellent dish that we would happily recommend. We were asked how spicy we wanted it, and the service was otherwise very attentive. In short, the 560 km round trip was definitely worth it. We'll be back sometime.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. What an authentic restaurant owner, friendly and welcoming, who offers assistance with choosing dishes. She presented her country very well from start to finish. The food was extremely tasty. We were very well looked after from start to finish. We were pleasantly surprised when ordering that we were asked for our preferred spiciness. The selection of dishes was excellent. The cozy atmosphere and the value for money are more than reasonable.

We've been eating at Ganesha regularly for years and are always impressed. The takeaway food is always very fresh and generous. Requests for spice adjustments ("German-spicy :D") are always taken into account. Also suitable for vegetarians. A great restaurant with delicious Indian food and very friendly and attentive staff. :)

The vegetarian menu is extensive, while vegan options are limited and manageable, but available. Individual requests are accommodated in a friendly and flexible manner. Whether it was Veggie Mix Pakora, Veggie Kottu, Palak Kofta, or Mango Kulfi for dessert – all vegetarian and vegan dishes tasted very good. Portions are generous, and the prices are generally fair. However, the selection of non-alcoholic drinks could be more varied. The service is remarkably warm and attentive – you feel welcome from the very first moment. The colorful restaurant ambiance rounds out the overall experience. I would visit again anytime I'm craving Indian food.

I have to say right away: I haven't eaten at the restaurant yet, nor have I visited it in person. Nevertheless, I was impressed by the show "My Local, Your Local" – especially the clean, structured work in the kitchen and the respectful, professional handling of criticism, both in person and online. We had a bad experience here ) !The rottis were so sour we couldn’t take a bite and we returned home starving:( The staff was good in explaining the dishes but no one could do anything about accepting the fact that the flour was old & sour !

I visited this place with 2 other families. We got the food after 45 minutes. Roti that we had was spoilt & sour, it tasted like very very old dough. We ordered 3 gravies and I would not recommend any. There is no authentic Indian taste here. Please never ever visit this place if you need a good experience.

A nice place in the countryside with a great terrace. The food was very tasty. There were 7 of us and I liked that everyone got their dish in a pan. The rice came to the table in a bowl, everyone could take some, we could swap the pans with the dishes we ordered with each other and try everything. That was very nice. Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed it.

I ate there for the first time on Sunday last week. Very cozy atmosphere. In the summer you can also sit outside. The food tastes great and is very filling. Good value for money. I can highly recommend it. I'll be back

We had to wait a bit for our food (45 minutes) even though it wasn't that busy. But the wait was worth it. It is definitely positive to mention that when we ordered we were asked what level of spiciness we wanted. The food was very tasty and the drinks were served quickly, so the wait didn't seem too long. Special mention must be made of the service. Friendly, nice and focused on the guest. It doesn't get much better than this 🙂. The only reason we get 4 stars for the ambience is because you can still see the charm of the clubhouse in the toilets. However, they were clean and in perfect condition. And you have to complain about something 😉😂. Go and make up your own mind. If you like Indian cuisine, you shouldn't be disappointed.✌️

Delicious Indian food, nice staff

It was only by chance that I found this hidden gem. The service and the food deserve a full 5 points. The atmosphere is pleasant at first glance, but unfortunately there are cobwebs everywhere. I would definitely like to take a look again and try the daily recommendations. Addendum: Repeated visits confirmed the positive impression and it is now “my Indian”. The cobwebs have disappeared and many small things have been repaired. So far everything has worked fine without a table reservation, but I fear that the number of people will increase in the future. When I visited again, I was kindly invited to take part in the recording of "My Local - Your Local". The filming lasted half a day and it was very interesting to be an extra in the background. It will probably be broadcast in the week of May 19-23, 2025. Although Ganesha didn't win, it remains a top location for me.

Beautiful place to stay, particularly friendly service and very tasty Indian food. You will be asked how spicy the food can be and you can try original Indian ice cream. Next door, children can play on the lawn, while you can't enjoy the evening and the sunset on the terrace. Great and absolutely recommended!!!

We were there with a large group and everyone was absolutely thrilled! The service was incredibly friendly, attentive and super warm - you immediately feel welcome. The food was simply fantastic: authentic, fresh and full of flavor. We particularly recommend the traditional curries and the freshly baked naan – an absolute must! If you love Indian food (or want to get to know it), you should definitely try this place. We'll definitely be back!

It was my first time eating there and I was there with a friend who recommended the place. And I can agree with this recommendation 100%. A super friendly and warm welcome, in general the staff was really nice and attentive and we (especially me as a brand new guest) immediately felt very comfortable. Plus the right ambience. It is very cozy and attractive. The absolute highlight is of course the food. It was honestly super delicious! And for the quality, I think the price is absolutely reasonable. There is a large parking lot right in front of the restaurant so parking there is super relaxed. I and we will definitely come back! Thanks so much!
