Super nettes Restaurant. Wir kamen mit 12 Personen, u.a. mit Kindern und wurden sehr gut und freundlich bedient. Das Essen war lecker und die Portionen echt großzügig. Voll zu empfehlen. Liebe Grüße an die Leute vom Athen, war schön euch kennenzulernen :)

Wir sind neu hergezogen und dieses Restaurant wurde uns von Nachbarn empfohlen. Allein der herzliche Empfang und der tolle Service verdienen mehr als 5 Sterne. Das Essen top! Super zartes Schweinefilet, Gyros genau richtig. Wir sind begeistert und kommen immer wieder gerne her.

Rustikales griechisches Restaurant mit super leckeren Speisen und sehr nettem Personal! Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Stifado! Wir waren zweimal hintereinander da und wenn wir wieder in Hamburg sind werden wir wieder dort essen!

War da jetzt schon öfters und bin fast Stammgast. Jedenfalls werde ich immer wie ein solcher begrüßt. Das Personal ist super nett ohne dass es aufgesetzt wirken würde und das Essen ist tadellos. Bester Grieche, den ich in Hamburg kenne, jedenfalls seit es das Alexandros in der Alsterdorfer Straße nicht mehr gibt.

War das erste Mal dort und war nahezu rundum zufrieden. Der Gastgeber ist super und das Essen hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Kleiner Minuspunkt für das vorab gegebene Brot, da dies einfach zu trocken und hart war aber davon abgesehen war alles super. Komme bestimmt wieder, wenn ich wieder in der Nähe bin.

"Zufallsfund" auf der Durchreise: das Athen macht richtig Spaß und ist durchweg zu empfehlen! Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben köstlich gespeist. Die gute Bewertung ist absolut gerechtfertigt! Mir haben vor allem die tollen Empfehlungen des Chefs gefallen, die nicht auf der Karte stehen. Sehr einfallsreich und jenseits des üblichen "Griechen-Standards". Wir waren überrascht und begeistert!

Neu, 20.22.25: Wir waren jetzt ein zweites Mal da. Es war sehr gut. Wir hatten Lammfilet und eine gemischte Platte und der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alt: Wirklich gutes Essen in einem typisch Deutsch griechischen Ambiente und leider gewöhnungsbedürftige Bedienung. Unser Gehen wurde davon überschattet, nachdem wir 120 € ausgegeben hatten zu dritt, dass wir eine noch dreiviertel volle Flasche Wasser die 7,50 € gekostet hatte, nicht mitnehmen durften, weil es der Bedienung um 0,15 € Pfand ging…

The decor is typical of a Hamburg Greek restaurant, though it could be nicer. You can still feel the charm of a former pub/restaurant from the 80s or 90s. The food is excellent, and the service and staff (all family) are wonderful! They serve the classic ouzo right to your door without you even having to ask! Highly recommended!

Hello, I ate there with my family. The service was poor; they didn't ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything. The meat was too tough and unsalted. The meat, fries, and coffee were all served cold. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff was very courteous and attentive, and the food we ordered was quite tasty and not too dry. You can spend a few hours here in comfort. We'd be happy to come back.

Today we tried the restaurant for the first time and were thrilled. By the quantity, the food (something for everyone), and especially the friendliness at the reception. We were all so full that we even had some leftovers because the portions were quite generous. As regulars, we're right up there with the best.

Because of its proximity and the good reviews, Restaurant Athen caught our attention. The service was more than friendly and accommodating – we haven't experienced anything like it in a long time (in a good way), and we felt more than comfortable. Apart from that, the food was simply delicious and served quickly. You could really tell that everything was freshly made. The portions are also generously sized, and you'll definitely be full. Great restaurant. The food is so delicious and has a very good quality. The value for money is good and the owners are so nice and attentive. We love it and often pick up the food to take home. We also eat there every now and then. The ambience could be nicer/more suitable, but that doesn't matter at all with everything else!!

We happened to be there during a short vacation in October because it was close to our hotel and loved it so much that we ate there twice in 4 days. Super delicious food and very warm service. We simply felt comfortable and will definitely come back on our next trip to Hamburg. We kept our 'promise' and ate here again the next time we were in Hamburg. And it was just as good as the first time.

In addition to absolute friendliness and such a beautiful ambience, the food is simply top class. Dishes from the daily menu are particularly sensational. It's the best Greek restaurant I know outside of Greece.

Were there for the first time today, definitely not the last time. We were greeted very nicely, we didn't have a reservation, it wasn't a problem. Service very nice and attentive. The food, I had a platter with gyros, minced steak and pork fillet, my wife had lamb chops, it was simply top, meat grilled to perfection and very well seasoned. In any case, you should make a reservation on the weekend. The friendliness of the owners deserves special mention, keep it up. We've been there more often now and it's always of excellent quality

A small restaurant on the main street with lots of Greek food. We were amazed at how family-like it was here. As expected, the food was delicious and if you fancy Greek, you should eat here. Can really recommend.

A nice Greek restaurant. We visited this restaurant for dinner. A very welcome upon our arrival. We ordered Tzatziki. It was served with fresh home-made bread. I ordered a starter: prawns in garlic sauce. Charged 10.90. The prawns were too small and the taste was average. I cannot recommend this starter and from my point of view it is too expensive for what you get. We ordered fresh tuna, served with baked potatoes. Charged 27,90 euro. Tuna was fresh, well prepared and big portion. We ordered ice cream with hot raspberries on top, it was good. The service is friendly. I can recommend this restaurant.
