Friendly service, a family atmosphere, and delicious food—what more could you ask for?! We've been coming here for decades. Now it was time to pay a visit. We got a table spontaneously, and everything was great!

Friendly service and delicious food

Today we tried the restaurant for the first time and were thrilled. By the quantity, the food (something for everyone), and especially the friendliness at the reception. We were all so full that we even had some leftovers because the portions were quite generous. As regulars, we're right up there with the best.

Absolutely lovely people! And the food is simply delicious, and the value for money is also great.

We were absolutely thrilled! One Sunday evening after a long drive, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat near our hotel. Because of its proximity and the good reviews, Restaurant Athen caught our attention. The service was more than friendly and accommodating – we haven't experienced anything like it in a long time (in a good way), and we felt more than comfortable. Apart from that, the food was simply delicious and served quickly. You could really tell that everything was freshly made. The portions are also generously sized, and you'll definitely be full. The prices are also very fair. Next time we're in Hamburg, we'll definitely be back. 😊

The employees are very friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is nice. The portions could have been bigger but still nice to sit there.

Any intolerances are dealt with in a friendly manner, and a solution is sought. This is exactly how I imagine a visit to a restaurant should be – keep it up – Yamas!

Absolutely outstanding. We went here twice during our vacation. The first time because it was close to the hotel where we were staying. Stuffed olive oil and grilled salmon were very nice. All portions were quite satisfying. The staff was also very friendly. I hope we come again.

Great restaurant. The food is so delicious and has a very good quality. The value for money is good and the owners are so nice and attentive. We love it and often pick up the food to take home. We also eat there every now and then. The ambience could be nicer/more suitable, but that doesn't matter at all with everything else!!

We happened to be there during a short vacation in October because it was close to our hotel and loved it so much that we ate there twice in 4 days. Super delicious food and very warm service. We simply felt comfortable and will definitely come back on our next trip to Hamburg. We kept our 'promise' and ate here again the next time we were in Hamburg. And it was just as good as the first time.

In addition to absolute friendliness and such a beautiful ambience, the food is simply top class. Dishes from the daily menu are particularly sensational. It's the best Greek restaurant I know outside of Greece.

Were there for the first time today, definitely not the last time. We were greeted very nicely, we didn't have a reservation, it wasn't a problem. Service very nice and attentive. The food, I had a platter with gyros, minced steak and pork fillet, my wife had lamb chops, it was simply top, meat grilled to perfection and very well seasoned. In any case, you should make a reservation on the weekend. The friendliness of the owners deserves special mention, keep it up. We've been there more often now and it's always of excellent quality

A small restaurant on the main street with lots of Greek food. We were amazed at how family-like it was here. As expected, the food was delicious and if you fancy Greek, you should eat here. Can really recommend.

I would say by far the best Greek in Hamburg. You immediately feel at home, all special requests are fulfilled. It doesn't get any better. The food is of the finest quality.

A nice Greek restaurant. We visited this restaurant for dinner. A very welcome upon our arrival. We ordered Tzatziki. It was served with fresh home-made bread. I ordered a starter: prawns in garlic sauce. Charged 10.90. The prawns were too small and the taste was average. I cannot recommend this starter and from my point of view it is too expensive for what you get. We ordered fresh tuna, served with baked potatoes. Charged 27,90 euro. Tuna was fresh, well prepared and big portion. We ordered ice cream with hot raspberries on top, it was good. The service is friendly. I can recommend this restaurant.

The food was, as always, very tasty. Maybe there could have been 10 more fries :) but it could also have been because I was hungry. Service was great, not annoying but very attentive and very friendly. The ambience is actually very nice and authentic, but you shouldn't look too closely at the beer mats. Despite criticism on the last visit, no change.

Staff is incredibly friendly, prices are very reasonable, and food is very good. Hard recommend, especially if you live somewhere close! Really great value for Hamburg. They also did a very good job at accommodating my vegetarian friend, even though they don't have any vegetarian dishes on the menu (besides starters). Just ask and they'll be happy to throw something together for you!

Ich wurde noch nie so gut empfangen. Das Essen ist der Hammer. Preis Leistung kann man nicht toppen und das Personal ist so herzlich, das man sich wie zuhause fühlt.

Diese Bewertung ist längst überfällig, da dies mein Lieblingsrestaurant überhaupt ist. Mein Mann und ich haben hier in den letzten zwei Jahren mindestens einmal im Monat zu Abend gegessen und jede einzelne Mahlzeit hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Das Essen ist durchweg ausgezeichnet und die Familie, die das Restaurant führt, ist sehr herzlich und einladend und bietet exzellenten Service. Darüber hinaus sind die Preise für die Qualität, die Sie erhalten, sehr angemessen. Es gibt viele fantastische Restaurants in Hamburg, aber ich habe noch kein besseres als das Restaurant Athen gefunden.

Gemessen am Preis waren die meisten Gerichte nur moderat. Salate eher farblos, ein bisschen schade.

Ein sehr gemütliches, familiäres Restaurant. Unbedingt auf die Tageskarte achten.

Wir haben heute am 23.11.10 um 20 Uhr hier gegessen. Exzellent. Toller Service, tolle Leute, tolle Preise, tolles Essen.

Ja, wie geil ist das denn. Ein tolles Restaurant an der Fuhlsbütteler Str. Von außen eher unscheinbar - aber innen superfreundliches Personal, sehr gute Küche, lecker Essen und humane Preise. Wenn wir wieder in HH sind werden wir dort wieder einkehren. MEGALECKER: Gyros in Gorgonzolasauce und vorweg die gegrillten Peperoni mit Balsamico!

Freundliches Personal, welches Späße mitmacht! Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe (11 Personen) im Restaurant. Erst draußen und dann wegen des Wetters drinnen. Kein Problem! Schnelle, freundliche Bedienung zu moderaten Preisen!!! Geschmeckt hat es sehr gut! Wir waren gleich am nächsten Abend wieder dort! Wieder alles sehr cool! Nette Inhaber, leckeres Essen, Preise passen auch. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Update: Gestern wieder dort gewesen und alle sind so super freundlich dort. Da kommt der Inhaber auch mal zum Plausch an den Tisch und begrüßt jeden Gast persönlich. Hier kann man sich nur wohl fühlen.

Schon eine ganze Weile haben wir nach einem griechischem Restaurant Ausschau gehalten. Die positiven Rezensionen machten uns neugierig und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Der herzliche Empfang, der Service, das Essen und das Ambiente da haben wir uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Hier fühlt man sich als Gast willkommen. Wir werden ganz bestimmt wieder dort einkehren und das köstliche Essen genießen.

Wir waren das erste Mal dort aber bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal. Das Essen war sehr lecker - Lamm Filet in Rotwein-Feta Sauce ist sehr zu empfehlen- endlich mal nicht nur Standard auf der Karte. Der Service war sehr nett und jeder extra Wunsch wurde gerne erfüllt. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend!
