MAKI Sushi und Burrito& Take Away in Düsseldorf

I was there yesterday and it was the best sushi I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, I'm not from Düsseldorf otherwise I would have eaten there every day. The atmosphere is very good, there's good music playing. The staff are also very nice and helpful. Really 10/10 I can only recommend it. If you're in Düsseldorf and looking for a footspot then I would really recommend it :)

Absolutely terrible experience. We ordered three different dishes, and while the taste wasn’t bad, what happened next was beyond unacceptable. My friend found a literal stone in her ramen. Yes, a stone. When we informed the waitress, she took the ramen and the stone away without saying much. Then, another waitress came over and questioned us about where the stone had come from, even threatening to check the security cameras—as if we had put it there ourselves! We immediately told her to go ahead and check them, but no one ever came back to us. When we got up to pay, we asked the first waitress if they had actually checked the cameras, because after such terrible treatment, the least we deserved was an apology. She told us they hadn’t even reviewed the footage, but at least they wouldn’t charge my friend for the ramen with a stone in it (as if that were some kind of favor). Meanwhile, the kitchen staff behind her were laughing about the whole situation. Do they even understand how serious this could have been? If my friend had bitten into the stone, she could have broken a tooth! And instead of apologizing, they questioned us and treated us like liars? Absolutely disgraceful. If I could give this place -100 stars, I would. Save yourself the awful experience and go somewhere else.

Absolutely disgusting place, if I could give 0 stars I would do it Food : We ordered a set of sushi plus sashimi Takoyaki and shrimp burrito The sushi was the best we ate today, but to be honest, it wasn’t tasty at all - just edible The sashimi was bad the fish didn't taste very fresh The takoyaki was absolutely terrible, I'm a huge takoyaki lover and this was a huge disappointment for me. To begin with, I was not warned that the dish was terribly hot and the hot dough poured into my mouth and burned my cheek. The Takoyaki itself was almost empty, there was a tiny piece of octopus smaller than the tip of a finger, but there was a lot of raw dough inside The dough also tasted terrible; it was bitter and had a strong unpleasant aftertaste. Shrimp Burrito: And finally we got to the most terrible dish we had today. Firstly, this cannot be called a sushi roll. The filling inside is like I'm eating shawarma at a train station. I asked for additional deep-frying and this was clearly a mistake. The cook didn’t even bother to blot off the oil at the end of the roll and my plate was filled with fat that even came through the newspaper in which it was wrapped. Due to the fact that the fat flowed so much, I even ruined my trousers because they were literally filled with fat as soon as I lifted the roll. There were very few shrimp. Even though the portion is large, you just don’t want to eat it, from the smell to the taste. Atmosphere : Although the main hall looked relatively good despite the dirty menus. However, as soon as you get into the toilet, you will simply fall, literally in the aisle the ceilings are so low that I, with average height, hit my head. The toilet itself is terribly dirty, and while I was there the toilet paper holder completely fell off. Service: The service is very bad, the waiters mixed up everything possible and then the waitress left to smoke after telling us about it

Very tasty sushi! We also had a duck burrito and a sushi taco, both of which are highly recommended! We are in the region once a year and always come here to eat.

I ordered takeout for a birthday gathering with eight friends, and unfortunately, all of us were disappointed with the meal. While I don’t want to imply that the restaurant is directly responsible, I did experience some digestive issues the following day. It seems that the quality of the food has declined since my last order, which was much better. I hope the restaurant can take this feedback into account for future improvements.

When we are in Düsseldorf, we like to go to Maki Sushi. Always very friendly staff and delicious food, fresh ingredients and very quick preparation 👍👍👍 Prices are very good for the quality and portions. We always enjoy coming back.

The service was very friendly and the food was really tasty. The maki rolls were outstanding! The sushi burrito is also really tasty, but the seaweed paper (the same as you would find on normal sushi) is a bit difficult to bite off given the size of the burrito :) overall, highly recommended

Nice quality of fish in the place. We chose the Salmon Poke Bowl but they were a pretty big portion for the price paid and really good quality.

It was tasty at the moment, but suddenly me and my girlfriend got really sick and threw up at home. Something was wrong with the food! The waiter was nice at the beginning but towards the end he was very unfriendly.

In my opinion, the food is very bad, my dumplings weren't cooked properly and the taste itself was okay, so homemade soda is great, but I had a fly in my drink, which was refunded to me. But I couldn't enjoy the food there because the cooking was half-hearted. And I was hungry.

We had a really good lunch here. The duck, poke bowl and noodle soup were delicious! Staff was also very nice and we loved the interior!!

The bowls are very tasty. Large portion. What bothered me a little were the toilets. I had trouble finding them. The doors were hidden in a kind of storage room. At first I thought I was in the wrong place. Update 11/22/24 Today I tried the chicken ramen and the chicken goyza. The Goyza was a regular standard item and was served to me during the main course. Bad kitchen timing. The taste of the ramen was ok, but it was only served lukewarm and very little. The bowl was only half full. Not everyone can eat with chopsticks. So put out the cutlery that you are used to here or ask whether it is chopsticks or a spoon and fork.

Unfortunately I ordered a delivery and the food arrived burnt, I couldn't eat it, in addition to the excess fat and what hurts the most is that the prices are medium high, I was very disappointed in the place

This is the best sushi I have ever eaten in Düsseldorf. It was fresh, big, exceptional and with different flavors. We were in this cafe in November, unfortunately the room was very cold so we had to sit in our jackets.

The food was delicious, the decoration was creative and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Food was really delicious! The ambience is quite good, but could still have a bit more cozy charm. But we really enjoyed our time and will definitely come back. We can particularly recommend the fried salmon burrito.

Sushi was ok but the noddles were not fresh at all. Said it came with vegetables but instead was 3 strips of lettuce. They were also bland and not even warm. Quite disappointing given the reviews and price.

The store used to be halfway authentic and good, 4-5 years ago. Now it was there, seems to be in new hands. Unshaven guy with a pat and an unwashed Gucci polo throws the food carelessly on the table and doesn't talk. Then chat with a colleague instead of checking to see if guests would like something. Shishalounge vibes and the food was also very mediocre. Too bad.

The food, namely the ramen, is actually great. Sushi is also delicious. Everything is prepared quickly. Sake, unfortunately, there is no normal sake, a kind of low-alcohol made from bottles. Of course, the experience was somewhat spoiled by the waiter who spilled soy sauce on my wife's clothes. We had to buy new clothes because of it. That's why I give three stars for the service.

Honestly this is the most authentic Japanese food i tried in Europe so far i tried the tonkotsu ramen karaage and it was close to perfection the chicken was fried just right, the salt the taste felt just right

We ordered noodel and it took more than 1 hour to arrive. Even though the food arrived so late, the chicken was cold and very skinny. I did not like at all.

Wrong working hours on Google! They work only till 22:00. The waiter told me that they’re not going to wait for me even 10 minutes. So disappointing, cause they have really tasty food…

I've been a regular for 3 years and every time I go there I order the same thing but unfortunately today wasn't the case as it was take away, one portion was completely wrong because there shouldn't have been salmon and The other sushi just fell apart the whole time, only 1x chopsticks, no biscuits and napkins, a real shame, but I had to say it.

Hard to judge since I'm not a sushi eater, I had the Peking duck. Haß had nothing to do with the original, I'm from the Japanese too. The duck was okay, unfortunately rather tough. Vegetables were good. Lots of rice with nothing. My girlfriend's searchi was a bit boring in my opinion. I tried it too and didn't think it was bad either. Personally, I found the small shop to be very nicely done and the service did what it could

We ate there with two people on June 1st, 2024. It's a great little Japanese restaurant. Very friendly staff, very tasty food, absolutely fair prices and the waiting times are acceptable. We really loved how the walls and ceilings inside were decorated with Japanese flair. Simply great. MAKI Sushi is definitely a highly recommended address.

I found this spot while walking through the Dusseldorf city. It is a cute little place and offers sushi. It was good enough for the price I paid. The seating is not that comfortable and the ambience is ok.

Terrible! We were there with my boyfriend and ordered the same food (crispy duck and rice). He received his food 20 mins before mine and had to eat it otherwise it would get cold. When my food came, it was super cold and probably left over from yesterday! I couldnt even chew it and after waiting 20 minutes for it I had to send it back without eating! And left the place in complete hunger and went somewhere else to eat, when my boyfriend already had his food. In conclusion: our date was completely ruined!!!! Never again!!!!

Both fried rice and yakisoba were very hard and dry had no taste at all! The rice from Unagi Don is not japanese rice but Thai rice. And again, very dry. The vegetable tempura came with chicken sweet chilli sauce and the flour was so thick that I can barely taste The vegetable itself. They forgot to bring the Gyoza but of course if was on the bill. The only thing that was good was the Edamame! Overall: not an authentic experience of Japanese food...

Sushi was delicious and the shop is decorated really cool. Unfortunately the noodles were too cold and the meat was fried to death. Really inedible. It's a shame that the staff made little effort and seemed rather annoyed.

Incredibly bad delivery service. I ordered around 6 p.m. and the expected delivery time was 8 p.m. I called the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. and asked whether the order could be canceled because the delivery time didn't suit me. The employee said that the sushi was already ready for pickup. The order didn't arrive by 8 p.m. Incredibly disgraceful for leaving so much money there.

I was served raw chicken. It was still frozen in the middle. When I complained, my plate was taken away, my half-eaten piece was thrown away, and I got it all back after 2 more seconds in the fryer. When I took it apart, I realized that there was no meat breaded, just fat. Of course I completely lost my appetite. I couldn't enjoy my spring rolls afterwards either because they were full of chicken cartilage. I couldn't eat any of the dishes I ordered and felt completely sick afterwards. Nevertheless, even after complaining, I had to pay the full price. 18€ for not being able to eat anything…

Unfortunately the ramen was a disappointment and the chicken in the chicken bowl was cold. The service seemed a bit overwhelmed and overall I wouldn't recommend this store to my friends.

BE AWARE! The delivery time shown on Lieferando is false advertisement! It says 15-20 mins (which, of course makes you order right away!) - in reality: over an hour. I called the restaurant to express my disappointment (in a polite manner!) - the girl just hung up on me. Poor service. Never ordering again.

Peking Ente mit Reis und Gemuse ist super für diesen Preis. Updating to say thanks for solving a problem with a delivery - it took a couple days but I did get a satisfying answer. So they do care, but they're obviously very busy - makes sense with such good food 👍

Went into the store again and it was a simple store that seemed a little chaotic. Ambiance is quite acceptable. But it still looks like a junk room. It's like a dovecote - probably due to the many lieferando drivers. Nevertheless, the food is surprising - the price-performance ratio leaves nothing to be desired. Portions are really big and fresh. There's really no need to mention tasty. The service is always friendly and one might say charming - but unfortunately a bit slow. But that doesn't stop me from continuing to eat there. Really great! Update on March 17th, 2024 - were there again and wanted to eat a little something. Unfortunately it wasn't so good today. The food was dismal and the duck was fried to death. I saved on vegetables when it came to rice and pasta and for less than ten euros I can get better food at the snack bar around the corner. It's a shame actually ;(

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. We both had noodles with rice. It was simply cold and the portions were also very small. Had number 27 with duck in teriyaki sauce. My duck was just charred and burnt so I didn't eat it. never again unfortunately
