MAKI Sushi und Burrito& Take Away in Düsseldorf

Maki is usually one of my favorite restaurants in Düsseldorf, but unfortunately, we weren't satisfied yesterday. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes. One order arrived much too late, forcing one person to eat alone, and the chicken and rice was dry. Another order was forgotten, so someone had to wait another 15 minutes. The crunchy rolls were burnt, and the cooked salmon wasn't good either. On top of that, it was very crowded, and there was only one waitress, which I felt was a shame. A real disappointment ☹️

Sushi burrito was pretty good, but a bit pricey. They also forgot about the part of our order. However, the design of the place is pretty eye catching

Temaki were not crispy (and not rolled correctly - fish was on top, not spread through the roll). Ramen noodles were overcooked. It's an affordable place in a good location, but the food was disappointing. I won't come back.

Ordered once – never again! This is supposed to be ramen 🍜. The noodles are stuck together terribly and don't separate even after minutes. The texture is absolutely disgusting. And there are hardly any toppings. Yuck!

The food is delicious. They offer unusual dishes, like sushi burritos. The taco with salmon tartare, avocado, and hot sauce was amazing. Fun atmosphere, cozy, and very friendly service.

I've been here many times and find the food delicious. There's a wide selection of sushi, the food comes relatively quickly, and the prices are fair. I highly recommend it!

We ate there a few days ago. On the downside: the person who greeted us wasn't very pleasant. It kind of ruined the start for us. On the other hand, the sushi/maki dishes were a big surprise. They were quite good, original, and much more filling than expected. Since we saw that there were small batches of maki (even though we're used to set menus) and it seemed quite expensive, we ordered several burritos, but we could have shared. The burritos are a kind of seaweed sandwich with rice and lots of ingredients. The downside is that the ingredients are poorly mixed (probably to make them look pretty). They should mix them together. The decor is really nice. In short, if you're looking for a sushi-themed restaurant, try their burritos.

It's always great to be here. It's delicious, cozy, and exceptional.

We had a beautifully decorated sushi mixed platter, which tasted okay. However, everything was served quite warm, including the drinks. Temperatures are warm right now, so you expect sushi (especially because of the fish/shrimp) and drinks to be kept cool. The mayonnaise-like toppings were unnecessary and made the food less digestible—we scraped them off the sushi individually. The price is very high. [Everything is covered with Post-it notes, so I don't know...]

The sushi wasn't particularly tasty. And the waitress was simply unfriendly. There were three of us girls. When we wanted to order something, she told us to get the drinks ourselves from inside. That was fine. Then she brought the sushi, and we asked for soy sauce. She then said, "Didn't you get that from inside?" I said, "You said we should just get the drinks ourselves—not the soy sauce." She looked at us with a shocked expression, but eventually brought it. Up until then, everything was relatively fine. But then two men sat down at the table next to us—and the waitress did everything for them that she had previously refused to do for us. I can't understand such disrespectful behavior towards guests at all. In a restaurant, the way you treat your guests is just as important as the food itself.

I've been here several times, and the sushi was always okay. This time, the sushi was kind of mushy and had way too much sauce on top.

Maki Sushi und Burrito & Take Away is a little gem in Düsseldorf's Altstadt (Burgplatz 7). The place is cozy and well-decorated, with an intimate atmosphere ideal for enjoying quality sushi. We ordered several pieces of fresh sushi, prepared fresh in front of you. Everything was delicious. The portion sizes are generous, especially the poke bowls and sushi burritos. The service was also very friendly and fun: they even gave us lollipops when we paid. A 10/10 touch. The prices are reasonable for the area, considering it's an expensive city. It's a great way to eat downtown without breaking the bank, and the value for money seemed fair. In short: great for a quick but tasty meal, with a twist thanks to the sushi burrito. I'll definitely be back, whether for dinner or takeout.

I came to the restaurant with my friends on Sunday and ordered sushi and appetizers. The sushi was very delicious and beautifully presented. I will patronize this restaurant again when I come to Düsseldorf in the future. I wish the boss good business!

A small, cozy shop with a manageable menu, perfect if you're looking for quality over quantity. The interior is lovingly designed and immediately creates a pleasant atmosphere. The sushi was delicious, freshly prepared, and very tasty. Our order was taken quickly, and both the manager and the staff were extremely friendly and humorous; we felt welcome. Despite our late arrival, just before closing time, we were served calmly and without rushing. A particularly positive aspect: They offered to pack up our leftovers – exemplary service! As a sweet gesture, they gave us two lollipops after paying. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair; we'll definitely be back!

I ate in the restaurant yesterday and the food was very good and the atmosphere was just as good. I just have to think about something here: the older lady was super friendly and tried very hard. And the other service was terrible, she just stood there and did nothing, the poor old lady. I mean, the lady did everything on her own and she just stood there and couldn't serve. I would have liked the girl to appear as if she had some time off work. Just standing there looking stupid and staring at us doesn't give us a good feeling and can enjoy the meal.

The sushi is already delicious, but there are even better ones. The rolls are good value for money; we didn't order tacos or burritos. Gio Ikura was fantastic, but it's also pricey at €7.90. It's a cute little shop with a good interior design. Unfortunately, the back of my chair wasn't as sturdy as the others.

The ramen was way too salty. The staff is completely overwhelmed once the place is full, and you can tell they're not trained...

Unbelievable experience... Yes, there was a lot going on in the old town on Saturday BUT: tables not cleared... Reservation made: "Yeah, sit down somewhere" No warm welcome or short apology because it was busy. We wanted to leave, then I wanted to sit down: drops of soy sauce and crumbs from the last guests on the bench... That was it: we left after the very cool “welcome”. I mean, we don't go to a snack bar where we get something for €10-20. No: High-priced sushi is offered here. At least you expect a nice welcome and clean tables. If they had approached us and explained the situation to us, which was a lot of stress, and had treated us cordially, we would have been happy to become guests. So we ended up in Pempelfort and paid a three-figure sum for our high-quality sushi. At "Maki Sushi and Burrito" we just felt annoying and unappreciated as potential paying guests...

Best sushi I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, the service leaves something to be desired and works very, very slowly. We had to ask several times for the menus and then only received take-away brochures. Apart from the service, this shop is highly recommended and I would still come back more often.

The sushi was tasty, but not super fresh. You couldn't chew the seaweed and the sauce for the gyoza unfortunately tasted too much like vinegar.

I placed an order yesterday at 21:00. They said it would be delivered by 22:10. Guess what, at 22:10 they postpone it an hour and they keep adding time until they cancel. I waited more than two hours before they canceled. I called more than 5 times and they wouldn’t answer. I tried looking for another phone number and there isn’t one anywhere. It was gonna be my first time trying it, and I’ll probably never do it again.

The food was sooo good and the restaurant is really chill and nice. Definitely will be going there again

I was there yesterday and it was the best sushi I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, I'm not from Düsseldorf otherwise I would have eaten there every day. The atmosphere is very good, there's good music playing. The staff are also very nice and helpful. Really 10/10 I can only recommend it. If you're in Düsseldorf and looking for a footspot then I would really recommend it :)

Absolutely terrible experience. We ordered three different dishes, and while the taste wasn’t bad, what happened next was beyond unacceptable. My friend found a literal stone in her ramen. Yes, a stone. When we informed the waitress, she took the ramen and the stone away without saying much. Then, another waitress came over and questioned us about where the stone had come from, even threatening to check the security cameras—as if we had put it there ourselves! We immediately told her to go ahead and check them, but no one ever came back to us. When we got up to pay, we asked the first waitress if they had actually checked the cameras, because after such terrible treatment, the least we deserved was an apology. She told us they hadn’t even reviewed the footage, but at least they wouldn’t charge my friend for the ramen with a stone in it (as if that were some kind of favor). Meanwhile, the kitchen staff behind her were laughing about the whole situation. Do they even understand how serious this could have been? If my friend had bitten into the stone, she could have broken a tooth! And instead of apologizing, they questioned us and treated us like liars? Absolutely disgraceful. If I could give this place -100 stars, I would. Save yourself the awful experience and go somewhere else.

Absolutely disgusting place, if I could give 0 stars I would do it Food : We ordered a set of sushi plus sashimi Takoyaki and shrimp burrito The sushi was the best we ate today, but to be honest, it wasn’t tasty at all - just edible The sashimi was bad the fish didn't taste very fresh The takoyaki was absolutely terrible, I'm a huge takoyaki lover and this was a huge disappointment for me. To begin with, I was not warned that the dish was terribly hot and the hot dough poured into my mouth and burned my cheek. The Takoyaki itself was almost empty, there was a tiny piece of octopus smaller than the tip of a finger, but there was a lot of raw dough inside The dough also tasted terrible; it was bitter and had a strong unpleasant aftertaste. Shrimp Burrito: And finally we got to the most terrible dish we had today. Firstly, this cannot be called a sushi roll. The filling inside is like I'm eating shawarma at a train station. I asked for additional deep-frying and this was clearly a mistake. The cook didn’t even bother to blot off the oil at the end of the roll and my plate was filled with fat that even came through the newspaper in which it was wrapped. Due to the fact that the fat flowed so much, I even ruined my trousers because they were literally filled with fat as soon as I lifted the roll. There were very few shrimp. Even though the portion is large, you just don’t want to eat it, from the smell to the taste. Atmosphere : Although the main hall looked relatively good despite the dirty menus. However, as soon as you get into the toilet, you will simply fall, literally in the aisle the ceilings are so low that I, with average height, hit my head. The toilet itself is terribly dirty, and while I was there the toilet paper holder completely fell off. Service: The service is very bad, the waiters mixed up everything possible and then the waitress left to smoke after telling us about it

We had a wonderful evening. The variety of food and the quality were excellent. However, the price is in the higher segment. The service was very accommodating.

Very tasty sushi! We also had a duck burrito and a sushi taco, both of which are highly recommended! We are in the region once a year and always come here to eat.

I ordered takeout for a birthday gathering with eight friends, and unfortunately, all of us were disappointed with the meal. While I don’t want to imply that the restaurant is directly responsible, I did experience some digestive issues the following day. It seems that the quality of the food has declined since my last order, which was much better. I hope the restaurant can take this feedback into account for future improvements.

When we are in Düsseldorf, we like to go to Maki Sushi. Always very friendly staff and delicious food, fresh ingredients and very quick preparation 👍👍👍 Prices are very good for the quality and portions. We always enjoy coming back.

Nice quality of fish in the place. We chose the Salmon Poke Bowl but they were a pretty big portion for the price paid and really good quality.

It was tasty at the moment, but suddenly me and my girlfriend got really sick and threw up at home. Something was wrong with the food! The waiter was nice at the beginning but towards the end he was very unfriendly.

In my opinion, the food is very bad, my dumplings weren't cooked properly and the taste itself was okay, so homemade soda is great, but I had a fly in my drink, which was refunded to me. But I couldn't enjoy the food there because the cooking was half-hearted. And I was hungry.

We had a really good lunch here. The duck, poke bowl and noodle soup were delicious! Staff was also very nice and we loved the interior!!

The bowls are very tasty. Large portion. What bothered me a little were the toilets. I had trouble finding them. The doors were hidden in a kind of storage room. At first I thought I was in the wrong place. Update 11/22/24 Today I tried the chicken ramen and the chicken goyza. The Goyza was a regular standard item and was served to me during the main course. Bad kitchen timing. The taste of the ramen was ok, but it was only served lukewarm and very little. The bowl was only half full. Not everyone can eat with chopsticks. So put out the cutlery that you are used to here or ask whether it is chopsticks or a spoon and fork.

Unfortunately I ordered a delivery and the food arrived burnt, I couldn't eat it, in addition to the excess fat and what hurts the most is that the prices are medium high, I was very disappointed in the place

This is the best sushi I have ever eaten in Düsseldorf. It was fresh, big, exceptional and with different flavors. We were in this cafe in November, unfortunately the room was very cold so we had to sit in our jackets.

The food was delicious, the decoration was creative and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Food was really delicious! The ambience is quite good, but could still have a bit more cozy charm. But we really enjoyed our time and will definitely come back. We can particularly recommend the fried salmon burrito.

Sushi was ok but the noddles were not fresh at all. Said it came with vegetables but instead was 3 strips of lettuce. They were also bland and not even warm. Quite disappointing given the reviews and price.

Brutally unfriendly service, food disgusting and prices high, not recommended. Unfriendly service is a no-go.

The store used to be halfway authentic and good, 4-5 years ago. Now it was there, seems to be in new hands. Unshaven guy with a pat and an unwashed Gucci polo throws the food carelessly on the table and doesn't talk. Then chat with a colleague instead of checking to see if guests would like something. Shishalounge vibes and the food was also very mediocre. Too bad.

Very bad experience. Terrible food. Cannot finish them and need to find another restaurants since going out of restaurant since still hungry.

The food, namely the ramen, is actually great. Sushi is also delicious. Everything is prepared quickly. Sake, unfortunately, there is no normal sake, a kind of low-alcohol made from bottles. Of course, the experience was somewhat spoiled by the waiter who spilled soy sauce on my wife's clothes. We had to buy new clothes because of it. That's why I give three stars for the service.

Honestly this is the most authentic Japanese food i tried in Europe so far i tried the tonkotsu ramen karaage and it was close to perfection the chicken was fried just right, the salt the taste felt just right
