Maison Tom Restaurant in Karlsruhe

We ended up in this great restaurant by chance. It looked so cozy from the outside and luckily there was only one free table for us. The food was super delicious, a real taste explosion. We were so pleasantly surprised. The service was also very friendly and quick. An all-round lovely evening in a cozy atmosphere with very tasty food.

Maison Tom spoiled us with culinary delights on Sunday evening. Both the food and the service were excellent. The cozy atmosphere rounded off the evening perfectly. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair.

The food tastes good, however it doesn’t matter what you order. All the side dishes are the same salad. All the sushi comes with the same dressing so no matter if shrimps or salmon, both taste the same. The space is clean and has nice decoration, but it is not worth the food.

The service is really great. Super nice and helpful. The food looks very tasty, but unfortunately I don't think it tastes that good. The salad was the same for all three dishes, the noodles were a bit tasteless and unfortunately you couldn't drink my elderberry spritzer - it was far too sweet...

A bit chaotic if you book in advance. But everything possible was done to make it a pleasant evening. The food was great and we were often asked if anything was missing. I found it very good!

100% recommended! A great atmosphere and the best sushi in Karlsruhe and the surrounding area. The warm dishes and desserts (picture: mochi ice cream) are also incredibly delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is incredibly inviting. I enjoy coming here and can recommend it to everyone.

Nice place with some vegetarian selection. I really liked the sushi, not so much the main dish I picked as the soybeans patties were simply odd and felt uncooked. That could be a personal preference though. Service was nice and the atmosphere is great! Would go again to try another veggie meal.

The restaurant has a very nice design that creates a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the acoustics are very loud, which makes eating out a bit uncomfortable. The service was okay, but I found the attention of the staff to be inadequate at times. Some other reviews have already pointed out the impersonal nature of the service, which I can also confirm. My dish of duck with mango curry was okay, but it didn't blow me away in terms of taste. I was hoping for more spice and sophistication, which for me was simply missing from this dish. Unfortunately, I also had stomach problems after eating, so I was a bit disappointed overall. Based on these experiences, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant and would not come back. Another point of criticism is the sanitary facilities, which urgently need to be repaired and cleaned.

The restaurant impressed us completely! The service was extremely friendly, attentive and quick, so we immediately felt at home. The food was simply excellent – ​​fresh, aromatic and perfectly balanced in terms of taste. One small point of criticism: the bench we were sitting on squeaked a bit, which could perhaps be fixed. But that didn't dampen our positive impression in any way. We would definitely like to come back and highly recommend this restaurant!

The Maison Tom is simply great. Very authentic Asian cuisine. Something like that was missing in the Weststadt. The staff is attentive but not intrusive. The prices are also okay for what you get. We'll be back.👍💯👍

Food was really good. I had fried spring rolls on glass noodles with wild herb salad. I can really recommend this. The edamame were quite a generous portion:). The restaurant was very busy. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The atmosphere was very nice (and modern). Service was a bit slow (probably because the store was busy). But ok. Parking is such a thing. You can get a parking space somewhere, but you have to make sure that the trees have bars that are easy to miss. There are also a lot of birds living in the trees in front of the restaurant that like to drop something... All in all it was good :)

We found out about Maison Tom from the newspaper. As a starter there was combined sushi. The main courses are duck, salad and soup. The food and ambience was great and we will definitely go back.

Went to Maison Tom on a recommendation. The food was excellent. We had a great appetizer platter, a coconut curry and Pho Xao. Mega and for eating again and again. The noise level in the restaurant was too high for us due to the music and in the end 5 new guests were sent to our table even though we hadn't finished our drinks yet. Very unpleasant situation for us and for the new guests. The two girls next to us were a passerby and a little rudely seated at a table further away and didn't really know what happened to them. Maybe we would order food there in the future, but probably wouldn't go there again.

Very nice stylish restaurant with a very good selection of dishes. The sushi was great. The rice from the sushi was just right. The curry with duck tasted very good and was beautifully presented. The service was always very quick. The food didn't take long to arrive. The outside terrace looks great too. Too bad it was a bit too cold. I would love to come back and try the other dishes on the menu.

Very tasty meal here. Service is attentive and smooth. The inside of the restaurant looks modern and neatly decorated. I didn't need the lounge music, but I think it is part of the hip atmosphere that the restaurant tries to radiate.

For me one of the best Asian restaurants in Karlsruhe. Great ambience, friendly staff, excellent cuisine with culinary delicacies. The menu offers traditional Asian cuisine and excellent sushi. The preparation is always a feast for the eyes. Be sure to reserve for groups during peak times; there is almost always a spontaneous spot for two people.

Food was very good, the only negative point was that the plates were cleared away too quickly. Gives the impression that you should eat quickly and leave.

We were nearby and decided to grab something to eat quickly based on the ambience in the pictures on Google. It quickly became clear that we were in a really beautiful restaurant. Food came quickly and was very warm/hot. You definitely don't need to question the taste here and the prices were really good. 2x starter, 2x main course, 1x special and 1x large bottle of water for €53 in total 👍🏼 Definitely worth a detour

Great food and great ambience. There's also a lot going on at lunchtime during the week. Unfortunately, not all of the employees speak German very well and some of them are difficult to understand. Prices are also very good for what you get.

The best sushi I have ever eaten and the price was really good value too! Definitely recommend the salmon lover sushi platter and the mango cocktail.

When you enter the restaurant, you will notice the extremely tasteful, attractive and inviting interior, with a red Japanese maple in the center. Unfortunately I was very, very disappointed. The food was very bland. The sushi tasted like paper mache without the soy sauce. The tables outside are very close together. Every centimeter was used to accommodate many guests. Therefore it is very narrow and some waitress is constantly scurrying past you. It's also very hectic. Even though we had reserved there was no table available. I had the impression that they accept every reservation in the hope that it will somehow work out. The waitresses themselves tried hard and were friendly, but they actually had no chance in such chaos. But it seems to me that the owner wants to put every guest somewhere and definitely earn something from them. The owner himself was very business-like and forgot to show his guests some kindness and not just see his guests as paying furniture. At some point the kitchen was completely overwhelmed and served the food bland and bland. We had to wait a very long time for it. The only thing I liked was the interior design. It's not as cluttered there as it is outside. We won't eat here anymore. By a relaxed, delicious dinner I just mean something different like this bland meal in this hectic atmosphere.

Very delicious food. The avocado tempura was super delicious. The Tuna BBQ and homemade shrimp sushis were heavenly. The homemade lemonades were also great. Perfect in summer. The restaurant is very busy even on Monday evenings.

It was my first time there and I was more than satisfied!

The food is very tasty but the staff is completely overwhelmed. It feels like there is no system in place. 4 different people asked every 60 seconds whether we wanted to order drinks, then whether we wanted to order a starter and then whether we wanted to order the main course. We had to say several times that the drinks that were being put on our table didn't belong to us. We also once refused the appetizer plate, which was brought twice. Our neighboring table, who came and ordered 30 minutes after us, received his food before us. When we asked when our food would come, it said 5 minutes. That took another 15 minutes after the restaurant manager came to us and wanted to give us a bottle of water on the house as an apology. We declined because none of us at the table wanted water. The food was solid but not a burner. The plates are very impressive and fit the ambience very well, but are very impractical because the cutlery keeps slipping into the food. The service also seemed very unprofessional when it came to clearing the table. People who were still eating were hindered from eating. Overall, a very overwhelmed and seemingly untrained service. We won't be coming back any time soon.

Visited this restaurant on a weekday and tried the Maison Tom Kokus Curry with Crispy Duck (creamy red coconut curry with fresh vegetables, wild herb salad, flavored with lemongrass and basil, served with fragrant rice and crispy duck). The food was super delicious and fairly priced for the portion size. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Maybe you should use smaller plates if the tables are already so small. Unfortunately, like almost everywhere in Karlsruhe, the parking situation is a disaster. We sat on the terrace and ordered a sushi platter. We waited over an hour for the food. Sushi was OK and tasted good, but unfortunately nothing earth-shattering for the price.

Mit zwei Kindern waren meine Frau und ich gestern am frühen Abend zum ersten Mal im Maison Tom. Der Service ist herzlich und sehr nett und das Restaurant innen unheimlich gemütlich eingerichtet. Leider hat uns das Essen (H6 - gegr. Lachs & E5 - Yellow Tofu) überhaupt nicht abgeholt: es war sehr schön und appetitlich angerichtet, geschmacklich jedoch fad und 'gewöhnlich'.

This is 2nd and very last time. Basically people go because it’s comfortable and the service is fast. As for the food, YES the salad has sand and it seems they still haven’t fixed that problem and NO, a complimentary espresso is bribery when you ignore the problem. As for the food, why call the dishes by asiatic names when they surely don’t taste like that. Only optics and lots of colorful Kokosmilch. Even more hilarious was the one pak choi leaf divided into 4 for and a whole lotta frozen carrots and red pepper and if you are lucky 1 slice of a mushroom. Shameful, especially with guests from out of town.

Sehr leckeres Essen, optisch toll angerichtet. Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert, der bei Ankunft bereits mit Menükarten und Besteckkorb gedeckt war. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Damen-WC war sauber. Ambiente war gemütlich, aber dennoch schick. Absolute Empfehlung! Werde gern im Sommer wiederkommen, um den Außenbereich zu genießen.

Vom Essen und den Getränken sind wir begeistert gewesen, gute Portionen und ausgesprochen lecker! Bedienung sehr freundlich 😊 Das Restaurant ist auch sehr ansprechend gestaltet. Nur die Parkplatzsituation ist ziemlich bescheiden... Auf jeden Fall paar Minuten einplanen zum suchen und rüberlaufen 😅

Super leckeres Essen! Ich kann besonders die Ente in Mangocurry empfehlen. Es ist nicht günstig aber die Portionen sind groß und toll angerichtet.

Egal ob vegetarisch, warm oder kalt oder Sushi, hier stimmt alles. Das Essen ist super lecker, danach ist man nie überfüllt, sondern angenehm gesättigt und das Ambiente ist einfach großartig. Der Service ist leider sehr wechselnd, man sollte viel Zeit mitbringen. Auf Tischreservierungen kann man sich nicht verlassen, es kommt vor, dass man einen Tisch reserviert hat und dieser vergessen wurde. Auch beim bestellen der Speisen kann es vorkommen, dass ein Gericht vergessen wird und die Person dann erst viel später ihr Essen erhält.
