The food wasn't very good. We were disappointed with the taste. The menu should clearly state when curries or peanut dishes are made with regular milk, not just coconut milk. Also, if the cooks smoke outside, they should clean their black fingernails afterward. We were shocked. We went back today to try it again! I again found cow's milk in the coconut milk dishes, even though there's no mention of it on the menu. So, be careful if you're lactose intolerant or vegan. The taste was just as bad as last time. There were 27 cloves of garlic on my plate. The service was so-so. Not recommended at all.

From the outside, you can't see much, but inside, it's a large restaurant with two dining areas, and you can see into the kitchen from the bar. It was very clean. The sushi was good. The fish was very fresh, and the presentation of the platter for multiple people added a special touch. The service was attentive and very friendly. If you don't mind a bit of noise and enjoy sushi, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back.

Based on the good reviews, we became aware of MaiGarden. Centrally located in the city center, right next to the children's playground. On the side of the main shopping street. Nice outdoor seating. Portions are modest, not for big eaters. Rather small portions. Also, very little side dish (a small bowl of rice). At around €17-€20, it's not cheap either. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed.

The food was simply superb: incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced in flavor, and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the variety of Asian cuisine – from sushi and curries to Vietnamese specialties, they have it all. You can tell right away that they use high-quality ingredients and place great emphasis on quality. The service was also outstanding: friendly, attentive, and quick, without being intrusive. You immediately feel welcome and well taken care of. The value for money is excellent, especially considering the quality and the portion sizes. No wonder the restaurant has such great reviews. I will definitely be back and can highly recommend MaiGarden to anyone in Karlsruhe looking for truly excellent Asian food.

My detailed review: Food: The quality is okay to good, my broccoli was warm but as hard as birch wood… Service: The friendliness seemed forced. We requested a table for two for four at 5:00 PM, which was refused. All the other tables for four were only occupied by two guests each, which is unacceptable! Atmosphere: Basically quite cozy, but our table for two was like a rabbit hutch…

I felt like a cash cow. The waiter was superficially friendly but extremely impatient, even though it wasn't busy at the time. The main course arrived with sinewy beef and a portion of pasta the size of a child's hand. I went home hungry, and I'm certainly not a big eater. On top of that, the restaurant was extremely loud, with an uncomfortable atmosphere and worn-out tables. The menus were also worn. Overall, not a good experience – anyone with even a little bit of standard when eating out will not have a good experience here.

I absolutely cannot recommend this. The sushi portion was very small for the price. The edamame were still quite hard, and for that, it's simply too expensive! High price and you don't even get full – definitely not worth it.

Unfortunately, the main courses followed a bit too quickly after the appetizers – one of us hadn't quite finished their appetizer when the main courses were already being served. The main courses themselves were also somewhat lacking in flavor for my taste. Overall, the food was satisfactory, but for me, MaiGarden isn't among the top three Asian restaurants in Karlsruhe.
