We ate here today and were both very impressed. The service was incredibly friendly, and I haven't had such good udon soup in a long time. My husband had the chicken – it was very tender. We'll definitely be back.

I came here on my birthday and our platter for two was absolutely delicious. Very friendly and efficient service. I would definitely come again!

Still the best in the city Already second time to dine in. Honestly it’s still the best Japanese restaurant in Karlsruhe but not as good as the last time. Last time there were fresher Lachfisch and better quality of Sushi. The Udon for these 2 times is not real Japanese style but still delicious as asian style. In general it’s still worthy to dine in. But not as good as I expected or even what I’ve experienced the last time.

In my opinion, this restaurant is one of the most beautiful in Karlsruhe. The ambiance is simply stunning and very inviting. I've been a regular customer for several years and always enjoy eating here. The staff is friendly and attentive. The dishes not only taste fantastic, but they are also beautifully presented. The sushi was good. The lemon chicken for almost €20 was awful. After three bites and a long argument with the waitresses, I sent the dish back and refused to pay for it. My companion's cutlery was dirty. The soups were mediocre. I've eaten much better... and for far less. I was eventually persuaded to order a sushi plate. That was okay until I came across something very hard inside a roll that was inedible and I had to take it out of my mouth. That was our first and last time at that restaurant. I've truly never had such a bad restaurant experience. I do not recommend it.

We were really craving sushi and Japanese cuisine, so we decided to visit this restaurant. First, I'd like to highlight the atmosphere: very nicely and interestingly designed. It was quite noisy, but that's easily explained by the number of guests. The dishes were delicious, and the portions were perfectly adequate. However, I must mention that there was a slight shortage of staff at times. This led to a mix-up with our order, and we had to pay a bit more because we had already eaten the wrong thing without realizing it. Luckily, the manager was very accommodating and gave us a discount by removing the drinks from the bill. Despite this minor incident, the overall impression is very positive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. ★★★★☆ (4/5)

The restaurant is beautifully designed. The homemade lemonade is delicious. The sushi at its heart is impressive and perfectly coordinated. Besides the sushi, there are other delicious dishes, such as the chicken curry bowl.

We went on 13. September since i saw that had many positive reviews and good ranking. Unfortunately i didn't like the food. It didn't smell good. I ordered a passion fruit drink but got instead a drink with oranges. The sushi pieces are very small, only futo maki pieces were in the usual size. I would not very recommend it there are better sushi dining experiences in Karlsruhe.

My salmon bowl was simply delicious. 😋 The carrots inside could have been done with a bit more detail. Delicious edamame were hidden at the bottom. They look great when they're on top. A very tasty unagi sauce. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for the very friendly service 👍

Food was great but the service is terrible. It was not busy but it took 30 minutes before someone came by for my order. They didn't even get the drink order when when I came in either. Then it took another 30 minutes to get someone's attention to pay, only to be told they don't take credit cards for orders under $20 - ridiculous!! So I told them to add three dollars to the bill since I didn't have cash. I doubt I'll ever return. There are other sushi places with equally good food and much better service.

Simply good, cozy and delicious. I had several tapas, both hot and cold. Simply because I don't like fish, it's sometimes difficult. But there's plenty of choice here!

I don't really understand the good reviews. The glasses were extremely dirty, the food was fresh, but they don't really know anything about spices. All in all, I wouldn't go back again.

The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and delicious food. I prefer the bowls there, which are really very good. I've ordered the same bowl several times, but the ingredients were always served slightly differently, as they are selected according to seasonal availability. I can especially recommend the bowl with grilled salmon. I also recommend visiting at lunchtime. The restaurant is usually relatively empty then, and several dishes on the menu are a bit cheaper. Reservations are recommended in the evening. The only minor criticism is the drink prices. They are quite high, especially for non-alcoholic drinks. A 0.3 liter "homemade" soda (syrup, water, mint stems) for €7 is rather unreasonable. The service varies greatly. I've experienced it as very good, but also as adequate. In my experience, this primarily depends on who is in charge of the table.

It wasn't bad. They just have to work hard to live up to their claim. Everything looks chic and hip. But it's all about the basic products and ingredients. Sushi was too big. The tartar wasn't fish because the plate had been cleared and was also openly displayed under a lamp at the counter. So, even if it was intentional, the fish was cooked both on top and bottom. And they need to add more seasoning. The chili sauce (ready from a bottle?) should be hotter for my tartar. That's a bit boring. The duck looked like it had been salted beforehand. The trick is to sear the duck so that it's pink inside and crispy on top. It was pink throughout, which suggests that I needed a tool. Overall, rather disappointing.

We ordered tempura crispy chicken and were really looking forward to it. When the sushi arrived, we immediately noticed that it didn't look like the pictures on the website. Unfortunately, when we tried it, the nori sheets were much too hard, and you had to chew on them like the sole of a shoe. The sauce was delicious, as were the gyoza and summer rolls. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't that good either. The appetizers were good, but we were disappointed with the sushi and wouldn't go back.

The food is truly amazing and a 10/10! We've always enjoyed eating here, but our last two visits were truly disappointing, especially because we came with guests and raved about the restaurant. Unfortunately, as a guest, you get the feeling that there are far too few service staff. We had to wait a very long time, even though the restaurant wasn't even remotely full. But that wasn't a reason not to come back, so we tried again last week. Our starters were forgotten, and after a long wait, we received two of our four main courses. When our two friends had already finished their meals, we received our remaining two main courses with the comment that the starters would be served shortly. Thirty minutes later, we still didn't have our starters. When we asked again, we were told they would be coming shortly. Of course, everything was delicious, but we would have liked to have eaten the starters before the main course and all eat our main courses together. Unfortunately, we will look for a different restaurant next time. However, if the situation changes in the future, we would be happy to come back.

This is a lovely Asian restaurant offering a delicious and varied menu, set in a tastefully designed, calming atmosphere. I’ve been here twice, and both times it was nearly empty — something I’ve noticed is quite common with many Asian restaurants. When it comes to the food, the gyoza 🥟 and sushi rolls really stood out. However, there was one disappointing moment: the waitress informed me that card payments under €20 weren’t accepted — my bill came to €18 — essentially forcing me to round up with a tip. Now, I would have gladly left a tip anyway, but being told it’s required felt off. It was a bit of a turning point in an otherwise great experience. A small note to the restaurant: we, the customers, shouldn’t be made to cover your overhead by policy. If your business struggles to fill seats, this isn’t the way to fix it.

I'm usually a big fan of TA Izakaya. I've been here 10 times so far and had fantastic experiences 8 times, mediocre 1 time, and today a terrible one. Service is usually a strong point of this restaurant – not so today: We got our menus quickly but weren't allowed to order for 40 minutes. When we finally got to order, everything went well, but the appetizers arrived long before the drinks. The reason: "Sorry, we ran out of straws." So we had to order beers to get something to drink with our appetizers. The beers arrived promptly. The other drinks arrived sometime later. Then the main courses arrived quickly. The food and drinks were delicious, but one of our four main courses was forgotten and only prepared upon request. The waiter's response after we had to ask him about it: "Oh yeah, it's coming soon." As "compensation," we were served another beer. To be fair, we weren't charged for this either. We finished our meal and wanted to pay, but we couldn't because the machine wouldn't work. At the next table, no problems, weird. Generally, the colleagues at the next table arrived 50 minutes after us and finished before us, including paying. Today was bad, but otherwise it was good. Next time, please do better. Thank you.

Today, the three of us were here for the first time. We were immediately struck by the restaurant's friendly, authentic, and bright ambiance. The waiters, all Asian (Japanese?), were very friendly and smiley and brought the drinks and food very quickly. Everything was freshly prepared and truly delicious. We had various bowls, all of which tasted delicious. Highly recommended!

The Kumquat Lemon from the homemade drinks was so outstanding that we reordered it several times. We were very happy. A definite recommendation.

The sushi is really great and I was also really excited about the “salad rolls” on the mixed starter plate.

I was a huge fan until I found out through food monitoring that absolutely no hygiene regulations were being adhered to ("massive cockroach infestation", "no functioning hand washing device", "interruption of the cold chain [...] at 28°C", etc.)

Unfortunately, there were ants all around and on the table (at the very back near the windows facing the street), which (according to the waitress) came in through a crack in the door - I couldn't continue eating. No apology, no discount, nothing. Definitely not a recommendation!

We celebrated my husband's birthday with the whole family, 10 people. Everyone was very satisfied. Quality and service are impeccable. We were definitely not there for the last time.

The sushis are great, fresh, tasty and well prepared. The rice bowls are another highlight of the restaurant as they are made very close to home. They have a very good range of sushi dishes also for vegetarians. The drink menus has a good variety of beers, wines, sakes, and cocktails too. The price is a bit more expensive than other sushi places in Karlsruhe but quality is definitely there! The service should be improved especially with ordering and serving the food. We had to remind them couple of times of our order and time we waited, but this can be improved. Overall one if the best sushi restaurants in town.
