This is the best Japanese restaurant I know. Loi is exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and very honest. We'll be happy to come back. The food is delicious and the ambiance is fantastic.

The vegan tofu bowl was very fresh and delicious! I would love to see more warm dishes (e.g., curry or noodle dishes) available in vegan versions :)

This is a lovely Asian restaurant offering a delicious and varied menu, set in a tastefully designed, calming atmosphere. I’ve been here twice, and both times it was nearly empty — something I’ve noticed is quite common with many Asian restaurants. When it comes to the food, the gyoza 🥟 and sushi rolls really stood out. However, there was one disappointing moment: the waitress informed me that card payments under €20 weren’t accepted — my bill came to €18 — essentially forcing me to round up with a tip. Now, I would have gladly left a tip anyway, but being told it’s required felt off. It was a bit of a turning point in an otherwise great experience. A small note to the restaurant: we, the customers, shouldn’t be made to cover your overhead by policy. If your business struggles to fill seats, this isn’t the way to fix it.

I'm usually a big fan of TA Izakaya. I've been here 10 times so far and had fantastic experiences 8 times, mediocre 1 time, and today a terrible one. Service is usually a strong point of this restaurant – not so today: We got our menus quickly but weren't allowed to order for 40 minutes. When we finally got to order, everything went well, but the appetizers arrived long before the drinks. The reason: "Sorry, we ran out of straws." So we had to order beers to get something to drink with our appetizers. The beers arrived promptly. The other drinks arrived sometime later. Then the main courses arrived quickly. The food and drinks were delicious, but one of our four main courses was forgotten and only prepared upon request. The waiter's response after we had to ask him about it: "Oh yeah, it's coming soon." As "compensation," we were served another beer. To be fair, we weren't charged for this either. We finished our meal and wanted to pay, but we couldn't because the machine wouldn't work. At the next table, no problems, weird. Generally, the colleagues at the next table arrived 50 minutes after us and finished before us, including paying. Today was bad, but otherwise it was good. Next time, please do better. Thank you.

The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and quick, and you couldn't believe there had been a Burger King inside. The interior was really nicely designed and feels much larger and more inviting.

Today, the three of us were here for the first time. We were immediately struck by the restaurant's friendly, authentic, and bright ambiance. The waiters, all Asian (Japanese?), were very friendly and smiley and brought the drinks and food very quickly. Everything was freshly prepared and truly delicious. We had various bowls, all of which tasted delicious. Highly recommended!

There were three of us, and we ordered everything from the menu and shared everything. Excellent service, and the food was consistently delicious and fresh, cooked to perfection. The open kitchen also provides a clear view of the preparation process. Clean, hygienic, and a lovely ambiance. The Kumquat Lemon from the homemade drinks was so outstanding that we reordered it several times. We were very happy. A definite recommendation.

The sushi is really great and I was also really excited about the “salad rolls” on the mixed starter plate.

I was a huge fan until I found out through food monitoring that absolutely no hygiene regulations were being adhered to ("massive cockroach infestation", "no functioning hand washing device", "interruption of the cold chain [...] at 28°C", etc.)

Unfortunately, there were ants all around and on the table (at the very back near the windows facing the street), which (according to the waitress) came in through a crack in the door - I couldn't continue eating. No apology, no discount, nothing. Definitely not a recommendation!

We celebrated my husband's birthday with the whole family, 10 people. Everyone was very satisfied. Quality and service are impeccable. We were definitely not there for the last time.

The sushis are great, fresh, tasty and well prepared. The rice bowls are another highlight of the restaurant as they are made very close to home. They have a very good range of sushi dishes also for vegetarians. The drink menus has a good variety of beers, wines, sakes, and cocktails too. The price is a bit more expensive than other sushi places in Karlsruhe but quality is definitely there! The service should be improved especially with ordering and serving the food. We had to remind them couple of times of our order and time we waited, but this can be improved. Overall one if the best sushi restaurants in town.

There were four of us and we had the TA Magic for 4. It was excellently prepared and more than plentiful and tasted incredibly good. The rosé wine also went very well with it. The service was always attentive and friendly, it certainly wasn't the last time we were there!

I visited this sushi restaurant recently and was partially impressed with the atmosphere, which I would rank the highest, followed by the cocktails and then the food. The atmosphere is nice, it feels contemporary and classy and creates a positive vibe. The cocktails, while decent, didn’t particularly wow me. As for the food, I can say that it was underwhelming. Here I focused mainly on the sushi (sashimi, nigiri, and rolls). The restaurant offers derivative recipes, but the variety of seafood is limited, and the flavors weren’t as fresh or vibrant as I expected. Even though they offer sushi combo platters, these were also limited and didn’t provide much excitement in terms of variety or freshness. Every single ingredient, from the fish to tobikko and wasabi was alright but nothing outstanding. Overall, the sushi didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I would come back occasionally but wouldn't change my way to dine in here.

Since I discovered this restaurant, every visit to Karlsruhe has a stop there to eat. The food is tasty, I never needed to wait long for it (had lunch and also dinner there). I have allergic restrictions and often in Germany it's a challenge to find options in the menus but here it was simple to figure out what I should not take. I really like their style, it feels cozy. The toilet is clean, that's an important point to me. The staff is friendly, pay attention if we need anything without annoying.

Already second time to dine in. Honestly it’s still the best Japanese restaurant in Karlsruhe but not as good as the last time. Last time there were fresher Lachfisch and better quality of Sushi. The Udon for these 2 times is not real Japanese style but still delicious as asian style. In general it’s still worthy to dine in. But not as good as I expected or even what I’ve experienced the last time.

Service: hectic, pressured to place an order, you can't even read the menu in peace, not everyone can speak German, you forget cutlery, you forget your bowl Ambience: So loud in the restaurant! The furnishings are tastefully and lavishly designed, but unfortunately the tables are so close together that when you walk past, you slide past your bottom on the other's table and, so to speak, in the other's food. This is extremely unpleasant. Toilets weren't clean either. They say that whoever cleans the toilet also cleans the kitchen. I had to feel this painfully, because I had constant complaints for a day and a night in the form of vomiting and persistent nausea with headaches. Never again !!!

Our visit to Ta Izakaya in Karlsruhe was a completely successful experience! The restaurant not only impresses with its beautiful furnishings, but also with a great atmosphere that immediately puts you in a relaxed and cozy mood. The modern yet warm design of the room creates a perfect environment for a special meal. A small downer was that there was a small problem with our online reservation. Fortunately, there were enough free seats available so our group got a table without any problems. The staff was very friendly and accommodating right from the start, which made the start of the evening pleasant. The food was an absolute highlight! The dishes came quickly and were of excellent quality. Every bite tasted fantastic and the freshness of the preparation was clearly noticeable. We were particularly impressed by the variety of Japanese cuisine, which was presented here authentically and creatively. The service was consistently friendly, attentive and always tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They were always available to answer questions and were also happy to give recommendations, which made choosing dishes even easier. In summary, Ta Izakaya is a beautiful restaurant with very good food, a great atmosphere and excellent service. Despite the small problem with the reservation, the evening was a complete success and we can only recommend Ta Izakaya. Definitely worth a visit!

My friends and I went to the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Even though it was busy, we were brought to our place quickly and there was always a waitress there to order quickly. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and we felt very comfortable. In addition, the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The “Lychee Dream” drink and the gyoza appetizer were incredibly tasty! Price/performance was also top. My friend mistakenly received the wrong sushi, this was corrected immediately. Service - top! We would eat there again in a heartbeat. :)

Sushi was ok in terms of taste and price, the shop itself was really nicely decorated, the service left a lot to be desired, e.g. wet glasses were put on the table and left a big puddle. Which we then had to wipe up ourselves...

Admittedly, it was my first time in a Japanese restaurant. Therefore, few comparisons. But I had dumplings and the chicken bowl as a starter, both of which were really delicious and, above all, really easy to look at. The iced tea was also delicious, refreshing and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere is really nice, but I find the small distance between the tables a little annoying. But that's what happens in many restaurants now. What is absolutely worth mentioning is the super friendly and very attentive staff. Not all of them were or are professionals, which you can tell just by serving the drinks, but their friendliness makes this quickly forgotten or overlooked. Definitely this wasn't my last visit.

Excellent food with exceptional quality! Super tasty sushi rice that is not too hard or too soft and above all not mushy, just perfect for my taste! Unfortunately, the conditions were a bit disorientating because they were too overwhelmed, but the food was convincing and therefore no point is deducted.

We went for dinner at 8 PM. The food was great, and the place looked very fancy. The service, however, was a big letdown. By 9:30 PM, we were almost done and just enjoying our drinks. Even though the restaurant closes at 10 PM, the waitress kept coming over, asking if we wanted anything else. When we said no, she stayed at the table, clearly waiting for us to leave. They also turned off the heaters and opened windows or doors, creating a cold draft. This is in December, so it wasn’t just uncomfortable—it got me sick. The food is good, but the way they rushed us and made us feel unwelcome ruined the experience. I wouldn’t go back.

Guys, you're in a hurry! It's unbearable in the entrance area in winter, when there's a lot going on, it's super loud and the stools are really an imposition. Sushi was good, but I've had better. The rolls weren't rolled well either, some of them were already open on the plate. But very nice dishes.

Unfortunately, the waitress was very disrespectful and seemed snooty, even though I'm a regular customer. This is the second time something like this has happened. However, at the end another waiter came and apologized. His German/English was a bit unusual, but he was very nice and friendly.

Hello, I usually rarely write reviews. But the restaurant really stuck in my mind. We recently wanted to go out for dinner very late in the evening, even though the restaurant was almost closed... I called and asked if it would be okay if we came, we were warmly and kindly asked to go there! When we arrived we were served in a very nice and friendly manner and were also advised which food we liked best! And all this despite the fact that they were soon closed. The waiters were very charming and accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious. I have a great memory of Ta Izakaya and I would love to come back. Can only recommend it! Best regards
