Catastrophic. If I could give 0 stars I would give 0 stars. I ordered to pick up by phone 2 days ago. Rice was mushy, sauce had a sour taste and the chicken had the consistency of the sole of my shoe. Of course, a stomach ache was a logical conclusion. The very next day the food smelled as fermented as if it were 2 weeks old.

I have been to the Maharani Palace many times. The spacious rooms offer a lovely setting for family meals or with friends. Most of the time it is rather quiet as it is not in the center of Durlach. So it's more of an insider tip. The selection and quality of the food was always excellent and the prices are absolutely fair. We recently ate a three-course menu with an aperitif for the second time and paid around 30.00.

It's was a good experience after a long journey to have some delicious Indian food. The food was really good and we all like it very much especially the tandoori, naan, rice, chiken tikka masala etc. I don't recommend the biriyani since it was okay only. But the rest of them are very good and the service was also perfect. Thanks for the delicious food.

Been there once for dinner, didn't feel it was dinner being served but instead raw masalas, the chicken tikka masala was not the expectations, tried the biryani, it was sweet rice instead with dull flavours. The lassi was good though. The best dish were the starters (papadam) and the butter garlic naans. Won't be recommending my knowns to this restaurant

A beautiful Indian restaurant in Durlach. We have been going there repeatedly for about 30 years. It's super tasty, clean, hygienic and the ambience takes you to another world. We also sometimes order food there to pick up. This is very quick with a maximum waiting time of 20 minutes. They prefer cash payment as the device sometimes goes crazy. But a card works accordingly. Only recommended! Quality for 30 years!!

I went to this restaurant twice. First time was really good. Food is delicious and service great. Second time visit was on Valentines Day. It was fully booked. The food served pretty fast but it was not tasty at all.

We have been coming to the Maharani Palace for more than 30 years and have recommended many friends and acquaintances here. Among other things, we even had the regulars' table for our graduating class again last night! It was super tasty, whether vegetarian or with meat. The service is top, drinks and food are quick, even though the restaurant is almost always completely full. We can fully recommend the Maharani Palace, be sure to reserve seats by phone!

The food and restaurant ambience were ok. The staff was super unfriendly. Suddenly our food was cleared away and the bill was handed over. We were in the restaurant for a total of 1 hour before we were very intactfully forced to leave.

I was really shocked by so many positive reviews.. The table was still dirty, the floor wasn't clean, the plants were dried out and covered in cobwebs.. Pictures were attached with masking tape, the dishes were left in the 80's, the staff was listless and the food was poor at all nothing.. haven't seen anything so bad in a long time..

Choose them to cater for an event for about 7 people and the food was superb. The portion size was very generous and would have been sufficient for 10 to 12 people. Would highly recommend.

Wir erhielten einen sehr unfreundlichen Empfang. Der Tisch wurde und mit Kopf-in-die-Richtung-weisend zugeteilt. Die Tischdecke war noch vom Vorgänger bekleckert und wurde nicht ausgewechselt. Der Salat war lieblos und billig in der Auswahl. Dem Essen fehlte es an der indischen Raffinesse und dem: Das Auge isst mit. Wir werden es nie wieder besuchen und auch nicht empfehlen!!!

Hier gibt es indisches Essen, das größtenteils nicht scharf, aber trotzdem angenehm exotisch gewürzt ist. Die Karte bietet viele Auswahlmöglichkeiten für sowohl Vegetarier als auch Fleischesser an. Man wird sehr freundlich bedient, und das Ambiente ist angenehm.

We have tried lot of Indian Restaurant in Karlsruhe and around, but this place makes you feel like coming home after being gone for too long. Pure foody bliss!!

Leckeres traditionelles Essen. In diesem Restaurant erlebt man eine wahre Geschmacksexplosion der indischen Küche! Egal, ob man Vegetarier oder Fleischliebhaber ist, hier wird jeder kulinarische Wunsch erfüllt. Bedienung mit äußerster Freundlichkeit und kümmert sich liebevoll um das Wohl der Gäste. Reis und Naan-Brot wurden großzügig nachgereicht, und das Essen wurde heiß und prompt serviert. Der Geschmack überzeugt durch eine köstliche Fusion von Aromen, begleitet von einer angenehmen Schärfe. Hier stimmt alles. Wir waren zu sechst, wurden sehr nett empfangen und unsere Wünsche beim Essen für gemeinsame Vorspeisen wurden bestens erfüllt. Das Essen war richtig gut und der Service sehr aufmerksam den gesamten Abend bei vollem Raum.

Das Essen hier ist immer sehr lecker, Ich hole hier immer mal wieder etwas zum Abendessen und es ist immer eine gleichbleibend hohe Qualität. Auch Freunde und Familie waren hier bei Besuchen schon leicht glücklich und satt zu bekommen. Ich kann es daher empfehlen und komme weiter her.

Das "Nebenbei"-Brot ist gefährlich lecker. Daran kann man sich schon vor der Bestellung satt essen. Das Prinzip der Gerichte auf den Warmhalteschüsseln ist perfekt dafür geeignet, um auch von den Tischgenossen noch etwas ab zubekommen. Auch Vegetarier kommen hier nicht zu kurz. Verfeinern kann man mit allerlei Soßen, die dazu gereicht werden. Wenn man davon immer noch nicht satt geworden ist, dann spätestens von dem lecker lockeren Reis, den man immer wieder nach bekommt um damit die restliche Soße vom Teller aufzusaugen. Wer sich nach dem Essen gerne hinlegt, nimmt am besten den hinteren abgeschirmten Platz mit den niederen Tischen mit Bodenkissen. Parken in der Nähe ist jedoch Glücksache. Ein paar Schritte nach dem Essen, tun jedoch bekanntlich gut. Alles in allem ein empfehlenswertes indisches Restaurant mit freundlichem Personal.

Haben bestellt und abgeholt; 20min Zubereitungszeit, Essen war pünktlich fertig und lecker. Zudem eine Flasche Mangolassi aufs Haus. Leider keine Kartenzahlung möglich - das wurde jedoch am Telefon auch vorab mitgeteilt.

I have been ordering from this restaurant from almost past 2 years. The taste is like what Indians do actually eat back in India. Specially the paneer and naan. Paneer is made as home and naan is super soft and smoky. I highly recommend this place. Best Indian place in whole Karlsruhe.

Das Essen ist sehrrr lecker, wir holen gerne dort ab, nur schade dass es keine Mehrwegverpackungen gibt ;)

Wir waren das erste mal indisch essen und es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir wurden freundlich und schnell bedient und mussten auch nicht lange auf unser Essen warten. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht und Tisch vorbestellen ist ratsam. Das Lokal selbst ist in meinen Augen indisch eingerichtet sogar die Stühle sehen geschnitzt aus. Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmal kommen und weitere Gerichte probieren. Angenehm für uns war, dass es Gerichte für Fleischesser aber auch genug Gerichte für Vegetarier gibt.

Tolles Ambiente, sehr leckeres Essen. Die Kurkuri Bhindi Vorspeise war sehr gut. Das Karahi Murgh hatte sehr zartes Fleisch, das Gericht selbst war eher unscheinbar. Der Minzdipp war super gut! Das Essen kam sehr schnell, ein wenig zu schnell, was etwas Unruhe reinbringt.

Es ist einfach ein zweites Zuhause. Ein köstliches Essen und ein außergewöhnlicher Service. Wenn wir hungrig sind, gehen wir sofort zum Maharani Palace. Heute haben wir den Geburtstag meines Mannes gefeiert und das war eine Überraschung aus dem Maharani Palace. Ich liebe diesen Ort!!

Ich komme nun schon seit Jahren in dieser Gaststätte, das Essen ist nach wie vor sehr lecker. Das Ambiente nicht so verführerisch aber das ist nicht wirklich eine Kritik eher eine Feststellung . Jetzt kommt aber der Punkt auf den ich hier eingehen möchte . Früher wurde man freundlich empfangen und das Personal (nur Männer) war aufmerksam und zuvorkommend das war eigentlich der Grund warum ich meine Kollegen überzeugen konnte im Maharani Palace unsere Weihnachtsessen abzuhalten ...alles vorbei...bei Ankunft mürrische Blicke kein Lächeln kein Willkommen ,habe mich vor den Kollegen geschämt . Während dem Essen kam niemanden auf die Idee zu fragen ob alles in Ordnung sei auch für den Nachschub an Getränke mussten wir den Service quasi nötigen , Die Atmosphäre im Lokal fühlte sich nicht gut an : Wir haben zum Schluss keinen Trinkgeld da gelassen und es bevorzugt für das Dessert woanders hinzufahren . Es ist schade den das Essen ist wirklich gut aber wenn die keinen Gast haben wollen bleiben wir einfach weg . Stellt mal eine nette Dame für den Service ein die einem zur Begrüßung anlächelt den die alternden Männer in ihre weißen Hemden und düstere Blicken erinnern mehr an einem Bestattungsinstitut als an einen Genuss Tempel . Ich habe mich bei den Kollegen bis auf die Knochen blamiert und werde dieses Lokal nie mehr wieder betreten und erst recht nicht mehr empfehlen . Wenn ihr es euch leisten können die Gästen zu verscheuchen macht die Bude dicht es gibt genügend Restaurants die sich auf netten Gäste und einen großzügiges Trinkgeld freuen .!!

Das Essen ist sehr lecker Dank der wunderbaren, traditionellen Gewürze. Trotz unserer Reservierung fühlen wir uns sehr gedrängt, Bestellung Essen, Abräumen zack, zack... Gemütlichkeit ist nicht aufgekommen. Wir sind dann auch schnell wieder gegangen. Leider kein angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Auch im Vergleich mit anderen indischen Restaurants gibt es hier die besten Gerichte. Wir waren schon sehr oft da und kommen immer wieder.

Wir waren alle, auch die zuerst skeptischen Kinder, sehr positiv überrascht. Super lecker, vor allem das Tandoori-Huhn.

Die Bedienung ist unfreundlich, hat die Maske unter der Nase und hat nicht nach unseren Daten gefragt (vergessen?) Das Essen war langweilig, schlecht gewürzt und hat hauptsächlich nach Tomatensoße geschmeckt. Zwei unterschiedliche (!) Gerichte haben sehr ähnlich (nach langweiliger Tomate) geschmeckt. Nicht gerade indisch. Das Naan war auch nicht gut, labberige lauwarme (Fertig?)Dinger. Schade, eine Woche vorher haben wir bei einem anderen Inder so gut gegessen, da ist der hier beim Vergleich durchgefallen

Breite Speisekarte, und die Idee mit den Menüs ist auch sehr nett. Leider haben die Gerichte dann nicht mehr geliefert: alles hat recht eintönig geschmeckt, egal ob Gemüse oder Lam. Richtig schlecht waren Suppe und Nachspeise aus dem Menü: die Suppe hat geschmeckt wie Tütensuppe mit Gemüseeinlage, der Nachtisch nach Kantine.

Wir hatten keine Lust schon wieder für uns zu kochen. Und waren sehr Dankbar für den Abholservice bei magarani Palace. Wir haben eine große Auswahl an Vorspeisen und Hauptspeise bestellt. Lassi gab es auch zum mitnehmen. Dankeschön für die leckere Abwechslung:-)

Alteingesessener Inder. Existiert wohl seit Anfang der 1990er und das sagt wohl alles. Wer würde sich so lange halten, wenn er nicht gut wäre. Alles immer aus frischen Zutaten, frisch zubereitet. Auch das Mangolassi und Eis, sind alles selbst gemacht. Da Indien ja groß ist, gibt es natürlich auch viele unterschiedliche Arten zu kochen. Die hier kochen glaube ich Nordindisch. Kräftig, aromatisch gewürzt, aber, wenn es nicht dabei steht oder gewünscht ist, normal scharf (ich bin kein Fan von scharf, pfeffrig OK aber Chilischarf ist z.B. nicht mein Ding). Die Portionen wirken zwar klein, aber oft muss ich mir doch etwas einpacken lassen. Es macht voll satt aber nicht Knödel-Braten-träge-satt. Es kann oft voll sein, abends oder am Wochenende. Vorher anrufen ist also empfehlenswert, ansonsten kann man auch bestellen und sein Essen mitnehmen. Der Service ist gewöhnungsbedürftig – mir etwas zu neutral und schnell oder manchmal muss man auch auf sich aufmerksam machen. Unhöflich war aber noch nie jemand.

Can only recommend this place for lovera of indian food! The meals (vegetarian) were lovely and moderately priced as well. If you want it spicy, just ask when you order. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive but still authentic. Again, lovely place, do visit!

Since i have been working in Durlach for many years, i went here many times for lunch, even though it is farther away from the office than almost all other restaurants in Durlach. This is the one we chose whenever we wanted something special of above-average quality. The menu and staff have remained virtually unchanged over many years, and so has the reliable, fine quality. A wide variety of styles is available, including more than a dozen vegetarian options. Lunch is really cheap; dinner is considerably more expensive, though not unreasonable given the quality. We also had food from The Maharani served as a buffet at the office for several special occasions, which was also always good, though obviously not quite as good as straight from the kitchen in the restaurant itself.
