The restaurant is generally good, but a bit dated. The service, especially the politeness and friendliness of the staff, could be improved. Some of the staff's German skills are not sufficient. The portion sizes are sufficient even for those with large appetites. The meat is tender and the sauces are tasty, but there is little variety. We find the prices largely reasonable. Overall, we are satisfied, although some aspects don't completely convince us.

Excellent restaurant in Karlsruhe. We recently gave a bulk order for our party. The team is very nice. The food quantity, price and the punctuality is excellent. You need to pick and return their utensils. The service provided by the team is very welcoming. Highly recommended!!

Great Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, it's not in our area, but we'll be happy to stop by next time we're in Karlsruhe. The best Indian restaurant, the lamb was delicious. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the restaurant overall is very nice. I had the butter chicken with rice and naan. Highly recommended. My only criticism is the staff. I don't know if it was just a bad day, but they could have been friendlier (perhaps because it was a Monday). We'll definitely come back, because otherwise everything was perfect. So, definitely recommend it. :)

Very nice at Maharani. The food is excellent. It's tailored to the European palate. But if you like it spicy, you'll love it. Very well seasoned, the aromas of the spices are savoured. I've never eaten such tender and delicious chicken. We'll be back, of course!

I recently visited Maharani Restaurant in Karlsruhe Durlach and had a wonderful experience! We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and Butter Naan, and everything tasted absolutely delicious. Starters: - Vegetable Samosas – Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, served with tangy tamarind and mint chutney. -Chicken Tikka– Tender, smoky, and marinated in rich yogurt and spices, grilled to perfection. 2. Butter Chicken – A creamy, tomato-based curry with succulent pieces of chicken. The balance of spices was excellent, though I would have preferred a slightly richer gravy.

This was the third time we've been to this restaurant with a group and we've unanimously decided not to go back. The food is okay, but basically every dish tastes the same. The absolute worst thing about this restaurant, however, is the service!! We had to wait over 20 minutes after ordering a drink! When nothing came, we ordered again!! The staff are apathetic! The manager, in particular, is very rude!! They don't even ask if anyone else wants anything! Half of our dessert order wasn't even brought. And the worst part: As soon as you've finished eating, an intrusive server stands at your table, demanding your payment so the next guests can be seated. Sitting comfortably and having another drink is not welcome here!!! One star for the service. But only because someone took an order at all!!! Not recommended!!

What we noticed, however, was that the facility seemed a bit old and run down. With a little more care and a small update, the ambience could be much more pleasant. We've been coming for years, but unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse. When we made the reservation, we were given a table for 90 minutes, even though there were still so many free tables. It was just stressful, not a relaxing dining experience. As we ordered, the manager's phone rang and he ran off. That's rude. The samosas were still cold inside, and as soon as I wanted to say that, the main courses came out in a flash. The waiters kept jumping around frantically, and the manager was shouting his instructions loudly. The rice we ordered later was also overcooked. That's not the quality we were used to. I don't know if we'll come again.

It was surprisingly busy, but we still managed to find a spot. The service was friendly and uncomplicated, accommodating guests' requests and even improvising on occasion, like moving tables. The food wasn't too Germanized, but pleasantly authentic, healthy, beautifully presented, and delicious. 🙏

It was okay, but nothing special. I probably expected more based on the reviews. The waiter was very attentive with the order, but you had to ask several times when your drink would arrive or the side dishes were missing. The appetizer plate for two people was unfortunately not worth the money. I ordered extra spicy for the main course for just under €30, but unfortunately, it wasn't even spicy... It was nice, but I won't be going back again, which is a shame.

Very good food Clean and well-maintained

We had various pakoras with dips for starters. And for the main course, two classics: chicken tikka masala and palak paneer. It was delicious, and I highly recommend the restaurant.

An absolute gem of a restaurant. They customize the spice level according to you and the food is always fresh, piping hot and tasty. Would definitely recommend their murgh shorba if you desire comfort of rich indian soup, love their naans, soft and fluffy. We enjoyed over chicken karahi and samosas (flaky and flavourful). The service is what makes the whole experience even better.

Catastrophic. If I could give 0 stars I would give 0 stars. I ordered to pick up by phone 2 days ago. Rice was mushy, sauce had a sour taste and the chicken had the consistency of the sole of my shoe. Of course, a stomach ache was a logical conclusion. The very next day the food smelled as fermented as if it were 2 weeks old.

I have been to the Maharani Palace many times. The spacious rooms offer a lovely setting for family meals or with friends. Most of the time it is rather quiet as it is not in the center of Durlach. So it's more of an insider tip. The selection and quality of the food was always excellent and the prices are absolutely fair. We recently ate a three-course menu with an aperitif for the second time and paid around 30.00.

The food was really good and we all like it very much especially the tandoori, naan, rice, chiken tikka masala etc. I don't recommend the biriyani since it was okay only. Been there once for dinner, didn't feel it was dinner being served but instead raw masalas, the chicken tikka masala was not the expectations, tried the biryani, it was sweet rice instead with dull flavours. The lassi was good though. The best dish were the starters (papadam) and the butter garlic naans. Won't be recommending my knowns to this restaurant

We also sometimes order food there to pick up. This is very quick with a maximum waiting time of 20 minutes. They prefer cash payment as the device sometimes goes crazy. But a card works accordingly. Only recommended! Quality for 30 years!!

I went to this restaurant twice. First time was really good. Food is delicious and service great. Second time visit was on Valentines Day. It was fully booked. The food served pretty fast but it was not tasty at all.

We have been coming to the Maharani Palace for more than 30 years and have recommended many friends and acquaintances here. Among other things, we even had the regulars' table for our graduating class again last night! It was super tasty, whether vegetarian or with meat. The service is top, drinks and food are quick, even though the restaurant is almost always completely full. We can fully recommend the Maharani Palace, be sure to reserve seats by phone!

The food and restaurant ambience were ok. The staff was super unfriendly. Suddenly our food was cleared away and the bill was handed over. We were in the restaurant for a total of 1 hour before we were very intactfully forced to leave.

I was really shocked by so many positive reviews.. The table was still dirty, the floor wasn't clean, the plants were dried out and covered in cobwebs.. Pictures were attached with masking tape, the dishes were left in the 80's, the staff was listless and the food was poor at all nothing.. haven't seen anything so bad in a long time..
