Magic John's Pizza in Berlin

I'll be back - I found out about the Pick-Up Pizza Shop via TGTG. Because every now and then I like deep dish style. Super good, super greasy, wonderful cheese crust and I'm full and happy! The ingredients are fresh and taste high. Price-performance is right! They are friendly and quick too. ... no shop to linger in! Order, receive and leave.

The pizzas are very tasty and there are also different types than the usual ones. They are available as thin dough or as pan pizza. The pizzas are served quickly, but you have to eat them in your hand because there is no seating. But it's not a restaurant and therefore it's not a problem.

When having an evening craving for a slice this is a fantastic option if you live in the neighborhood. Place looks like a meat truck delivery bay at butcher in the sopranos. Or at least how you would imagine it. Service was great. Because of a 5 min holdup with the receipt printer they gave me an extra slice and apology garlic knots. How kind! And somehow the drum and bass playing outside gets you dancing a little bit and exited for your food. Not as greasy as actual American pizza but that’s a good thing. David Portnoy would probably give it a solid 7.2 Also definitely get the agave sauce on the counter.

Very rude attitude towards customers

Dough was good, pizza had probably vegetable oil leaking from it (I am pretty sure it was not olive oil), the quality of the ingredients was mid at best, the taste was 3+/5, I expected a bit more at a pricepoint of 5eur per slice. The service was very kind and I would rate it 5/5. I had much better pizza recently abroad which cost half of the price, baked by an italian dude. Idk, maybe that is how american deepdish pizza is supposed to be made, if so, I am not a huge fan of it. The place looks cool and people are nice but the product dissapointed me especially at this price point.

It's fine but nothing more. I emphasize that there is no place to eat inside. It is literally just take away, they do have a table outside but in reality you will eat standing up. They have 2 styles of pizza that you can choose from. It's fine if you need to grab something quick, but it's not the place if you want to stop to rest and eat something warm.

A stinking normal pizza, for a high price you have to want it.

You can't go in, otherwise everything is fine.

Best pizza/slice in Berlin by far! I said it! Balanced and Interesting combination of flavours, also some diehard classic combinations, others more elevated. Vegan option as well! Slices served piping hot from the oven perfect on these cold winter nights!! Team is always so friendly and good music is always playing, so vibe is 10/10. I bring my friends who visit, I stop for a casual slice, and I order to my house! Highly recommended to bring a friend and share miso knots!

This is where a New York slice would go to eat a New York slice. 11/10. OG New Yorker in charge. Service is so fun, amazing crew, music slaps, and the vibe is unmatched. It’s not just pizza; it’s always a fun little moment. To the person who left a bad review because they burnt their mouth on a fresh-out-of-the-oven slice: everyone knows since the dawn of pizza that you give it a second. Nobody bites straight into lava cheese. Only recommended.

I would rate this as the best pizza in Berlin, no word of a lie. True, the pizza comes out of the oven somewhat hot, which is a little surprising, but luckily my parents taught me how to eat food without injuring myself so I'm able to overcome the obstacle of hot ovens to enjoy the incredibly creative pizza flavours that the wizards at Magic John's serve up. Two thumbs up.

Super good. Had a deep dish pizza. Very tasty, the waiting time was reasonable and the service was very friendly. It would be nicer if you could stand/sit somewhere sheltered/warm in winter, but the delicious food makes up for that.

While we were looking for an affordable and nice place in Berlin, we came across this place and tried a slice of their "plain" pizza. The price was 3 euros, it was hot and filling. The employees were friendly. They also only have outside seating.

Perfect takeaway pizza. Place centrally on Tacheles in Mitte. The food is delicious! Friendly atmosphere plus the music! There's definitely life there!

Delicious and crispy pizza, which is properly topped with good ingredients. However, the prices are too high for a snack bar without indoor seating and for the small portion size. The service was very nice and explained the different varieties. There are only a few outdoor seats available.

Pizza NY and Detroit from the window - the place is open for takeout only. I decided on a NY-style pizza - very thin, super crispy crust with interesting flavors. I ordered a pizza with sausage and onion, olive pizza and Mexican tacos. A great place to grab a slice and continue exploring Berlin. A place worth recommending :)

Best pizzas ever. Both New York style and deep dish. Incredible. Really appreciate the agave hot sauce and oregano. I had Truffle, sausage and oignons and Okinawa taco pizza. All three delicious. Service is welcoming and super friendly. If I’m back Berlin, I’ll be back there for sure.

Super tasty pizzas. It was rare that every variant tasted outstanding.

Pizza is delicious but really extremely expensive. You eat while standing in front of the shop. Definitely worth a visit to try it out, but in the long run I find the price for a slice or €30 for an entire pizza too high.

Of course, this is not Italian pizza, and you shouldn't compare it to an Italian pizza. But for a US pizza, it's phenomenal. Today I had the Halloween special with caramelized nuts and marshmallows - absolutely delicious!

Pizza is always delicious and perfect for your lunch break. 2 pieces of Detroit style or 3 NY style and you are well fed.

Wrong delivery, unfortunately unable to act in a service-oriented manner. No help by phone or on site. Excessive prices and arrogant staff. At the same time, your own demands for cleanliness in your own store are obviously more than questionable.

Fuimos en un momento que Google dijo que estaría muy ocupado y nos atienden inmediatamente. Cuando fui a pagar, la máquina se averió (creo que debido a mi teléfono) pero el personal era tan paciente y amable. La pizza iba a morirse. Tenemos una base libre de gluten y no tenía igual, Australia no tiene una base de pizza tan buena como esta!

I had the absolute pleasure of trying the Ricotta Detroit-style pizza at Magic John’s, and it was nothing short of incredible! The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside — exactly what you expect from a true Detroit-style pizza. The combination of the rich ricotta with the gooey cheese and fresh toppings made every bite heavenly. The atmosphere at Magic John’s is just okay because they don’t have tables and you have to eat outside. The staff is super friendly. If you’re in Berlin and love pizza, this is a must-visit spot!

From the USA here, I wish I had taken pictures of the food to show everyone how good it looks! This is everything Brooklyn style pizza should be. Thin crust, delicious toppings, and good sauce. Garlic knots are great, too. I can't speak for the deep dish, but the Brooklyn style is definitely worth it! Do yourself a favor and stop by for a slice!

If you are a hammered Brit looking for the familiar feeling of overpriced, greasy pizza with 2mm of topping on 15cm of fake-accia then look no further. They have a range of options which all taste the same but look slightly different and are similarly offensive on the stomach. They have solved the oil crisis too. The €50 experience that you couldn’t pay me €500 to repeat. That was delivered sideways resulting in the toppings sliding to the edge of each slice. I’m grateful for the experience as it validated Augustine’s privation theory.

Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the taste. I had the Butternut and Sausage & Onion New York Style pizzas. The pizza dough is very crispy, but at the same time very dry. The topping from the butternut pizza together with the dough made everything very dry and the juicy component was missing. The Sausage & Onion Pizza didn't impress me in terms of taste. The staff was very nice.

Amazing place to get pizza, banging tunes to dance to while you wait and the staff are really friendly. There's no seating but if you go on a Sunday when Sausalitos is shut next door, there's plenty of places to sit and have a beer and enjoy the best pizza in Berlin.

Before giving the review about pizza itself I really want to mention the friendliness of the stuff 🤍 the pizza was amazing, thin dough with nice toppings 👍 my personal favourite is olive (if you people like olives of course) and plain tomato sauce with cheese

The best pizza ever! Always tastes fantastic and is consistently good. Whether you eat in or get it delivered, it’s still great, which is appreciated as a lot of food doesn’t deliver well and goes cold - not here though :) The staff are also really nice. We’ve only ever had one issue and it was rectified right away, restoring our custom and there have been many orders since! It’s on the pricier side, but due to taste, consistency and quality I’d say it’s worth it! We’re obsessed with MJs in our house!
