Omg - the quality food went down - I can’t believe the food taste lacked the authenticity and quality of meat and vegetables were subpar and questionable.. I’m so disappointed upon my genuine concern brought to one of staff about the questionable food - the staff was dismissive and has audacity to ask for tips… I’m concerned whether ingredients were kept in safe temperatures etc and there are frequent checks on the expiry date of food item - cause I’m really sure some of my dishes were off by lots..😩

Soy sauce bottle had flies in it! Food was good. Service was rude. After we didn’t give them tip for the flies in the soy sauce, she made an annoyed face which is not justified.

As always, great and familiar:) the dumplings are my alternative to Singapore and the atmosphere is like coming home to friends and at the same time in a very celebratory atmosphere:) as always, happy again:)

The lady who collects the payments reminds you that the tip is not included in the bill, and apparently, she seems to have a minimum amount in mind below which the tip should not fall. I made the mistake of leaving a tip that was below her expectations, which led to her refusing the tip and reacting with rudeness and irritation. It’s as if she believes the tip is owed to her, and in the amount she has already deemed appropriate. I can’t believe this woman thinks she can be so rude to customers. From what I read in other reviews, good manners are not common in this place. Never again.

Food and atmosphere is really good .. But Service is very unfriendly expecially for small group of people. Always in hurry and push customers to take out plates. No greetings or No thank you for tip provided. Also while giving the bill she stressed that no tip included in the bill. I never had such experience in other chinese restaurant in frankfurt.

The Dim Sum lunch selection is very broad and the quality is very high by Chinese standards. The restaurant is extremely popular, being at the centre of Frankfurt with all those business people nearby, so reserve yourself a table. Because it is so popular, the restaurant is also very crowded and the spaces are small. It is probably a little more relaxed in the evenings, when the small spaces become a lot more cosy.

Great food, very attentive service. Not cheap, but worth the price!

There is a slight difference in taste every time you go. Still, it's averagely delicious. The biggest problem with this restaurant is the one middle-aged Chinese female server. This female server reduces the satisfaction of having a delicious meal. There is no consideration for customers at all when cleaning up all meals. He threw the dishes away and tried to put away the glasses that were more than half full of beer without asking. When I asked him not to clean them up, he said in an unpleasant tone, "Why? Do you want to drink them?"

A bit of a drive to come here and prices on somewhat expensive side but totally worth it. Friendly staff, and efficient service, dim sum freshly made and delicious, duck was not crispy as described but soft meat and good. Went on a week day for dinner , they were busy, could imagine they're busier on weekends, reservation recommended, my email reservation request not answered, so had to call.

All dishes were rather salty, the duck tasted precooked and reheated. The service was mediocre. Before we finalised the order I asked the waitress three times if we ordered too much and she said it should be fine. We ended up taking home 30% of the food. When she brought the bill, she stressed that tip is not included. Used to be much better! Very pricey, one small soup for 8€ is a lot. I will not visit again

We were a bit disappointed with the waitress' advice. She just wanted the guests to order a lot, even more than necessary. When we expressed our desire for a supper, she immediately recommended 6 “small” vegetable bowls, which were not even on the menu. In the end the bill comes to 8 euros for the little soup. In addition, the Canton duck and beef stew are not fresh.

This restaurant is a bit pricey, but the taste is good. However, it may vary from day to day, but on the day I visited, the mapo tofu had a slightly stale smell. The best food I ordered that day was the vermicelli in the picture, but I can't remember the name of the food I ordered. It's good on its own, but it's really delicious when you add the spicy sauce that's on the table. The cucumber soup was also the best I've had recently. It seemed like they were sharing a terrace seat with Sakura next door, and the bathroom was near the stairs leading to the second floor. Please note this if you have difficulty using stairs. It came to over 30 euros per person including drinks. I overate.

Waitress was really impolite. I wanted a different table as it was hot outside. And she gave us a face and was mumbling in our face. That she was not happy with my request. Than the meat dish had not much meat in there. Really overrated food. The rice is broken rice which is not good. Way overpiced for small simple dishes. Read the rest of the reviews. I have been coming to this place for few years now and every time the food is top quality, but the problem is the waiters.. they are really really rude! Some of the incidents that happened so far: - a friend of mine ordered two dumplings and one main dish and as she couldn’t finish it all, she wanted to pack them. We were paying separately and one the waitresses was calculating the cost per person. She looked at our friend and said “waoww.. you have eaten a lot” like why do you care if we have eaten that much? It’s good for the business - we were there last weekend with some friends and she was paying for the tab. The same above rude waitress told her that “tip is not included in the price”. In Germany you don’t have to tip, it’s not like in US and saying this bluntly was just rude! In both occasions it was the same waitress! Such a great establishment and food experience getting ruined by the rudeness of the service!!

We came for the dim sum and were very disappointed. Besides being colourful and looking good for instagram pictures, the taste and quality was not at par with other cheaper dim sum venues. The service was fine at the beginning. We did not like the attitude of our head waitress because she was trying to charge extra for any request we made. For example, asking €3 for a cup of hot water so my mom can take her medication. At the end, she even dare asking for tips because this is the rule in Germany. I’ve been visiting Germany for 8 years now and this is the first time I ever hear the comment that tip is mandatory in this country. Come on, don’t take us for fools.

Food is really good but the service really needs to improve.I was asked to go earlier than one hour while I was making the reservation over the phone,then we had to wait half an hour to order the dessert and although I was speaking German and English with the waitress I was ignored. While I added a tip ,the waitress would not thank me but looked disappointed and got frustrated as my friend was looking for his card to pay initially.It is a shame not put the attention on the customer as food is not the reason to excuse the rest.I would not come back .

Was here for lunch with customers. The restaurant itself looks clean and elegant. The food was mediocre to good. I would actually have given more stars if the waitress (an older Chinese woman) hadn't been so rude to me when I was cashing out. At first she gave me a normal receipt. But since I needed a receipt for entertainment, I politely asked her for one. But then she got really angry at me and asked me why I hadn't said that beforehand and that she had to go to the checkout again and print out the receipt! The whole thing took less than 2 minutes, so I didn't understand her overreaction. It was absolutely unnecessary and a no-go for customers. I didn't want to stoop to her level and didn't say anything else, but it was very annoying. Went in in a good mood and came out in a bad mood.

So sorry, yes everything has become more expensive but €6.90 for 0.5L of cola is outrageous!!!!

One of the worst experiences of our lives. Asked for a table, ignored us at first, even laughed when looking at us, and then (when we approached them again and insisted) reluctantly gave us a table. Thought that was because it was full, but no, there were many empty tables that remained empty while we were there. To make it worse, food was really below average and absurdly expensive.

Great place for authentic Chinese food and or dim sum. The waitresses are great and attentive. Must try are crispy bbq pork bun, steamed shrimp dumplings, xiao long bao, pan fried radish cake and sweet and sour pork and the mango pudding with tapioca as dessert.

Beside the high prices and usual German service I was waiting for the food with anticipation given the rating of the place. It is objectively disappointing, I ordered the mapo tofu and a bland red slightly spicy soup arrived. Bland is an understatement, none of the tasty ingredients that makes mapo tofu great made it to the dish.

Food was tasty, but rather expensive, but the large iced tea was far too expensive at €9.5. Xiao Long Bao tasted authentic, but they were rather small and almost all had run out.

The service was so poor. They kept us waiting while we waited at the entrance, eventually we had to go up and ask ourselves. They gave us weird looks as if we were making an outlandish request. Terrible service, mediocre food, wouldn't go back

Ich war in letzter Zeit mehrmals für ein eher kleines Mittagsessen im Madame Mei. Das Essen hat mich dabei immer sehr überzeugt. Das gilt offensichtlich auch für die vielen chinesischen Gäste!

Incredibly beautifully prepared, but completely mediocre in terms of taste. We were particularly shocked at the prices. Not everything in Dim Sum is homemade and the Maultaschen were still frozen inside. For a small rice dish without vegetables 26.50. Take your Instagram photos, but then go ahead and don't forget the tip. I gave it 10% because the service was nice, but she clucked her tongue loudly and didn't even say goodbye when she left. A pity.

The atmosphere of the establishment is very reminiscent of a Vietnamese restaurant, but the actual food has nothing to do with formal Chinese cuisine, just to increase the price by presenting the dishes, but the actual service and dishes are not at a good level . I struggled a bit with this review. The food was really good. However, the service for us was quite poor, slow and only partially attentive. Together with the most uncomfortable chairs in Frankfurt, the feeling of well-being suffered greatly. A pity.

Completely overpriced food, very very bad, dishes did not correspond to the picture as described on the menu, food arrived lukewarm to cold, you were not provided with cutlery or a plate, the price-performance ratio is not there at all. Far too expensive and the food wasn't particularly good and the waitress forced you to leave a tip. We were there with six people. I invited my friends the bill amount was €290 for side dishes and I got €300. I was then called stingy and the waitress went to my colleagues and told me off. I didn't leave a tip so I'll never see this place again and apart from the food it wasn't particularly good either.

Madam MEH! We came in to get dim sum takeout. Food was mediocre (my suspion: mass produced elsewhere). No chopsticks, no dipping sauce, no soy sauce, nothig! Even the garnish looked embarassed. For that much money- Definately NOT coming back.

The best Cantonese cuisine, the pastries are very tasty and the presentation is also excellent. All dishes are prepared with care, the chef is fantastic. It even feels like it could get a Michelin recommendation.

Very fine food, attentive good service. But what doesn't work at all: the next table is cleared away and sprayed with household cleaner and cleaned like that!! Of course, the smell greatly affected the enjoyment of the meal... A cloth with warm water has to suffice here as long as there are still guests around.

Das Madame Mai ist ein gehobenes chinesisches Restaurant, dass authentisch chinesische Küche anbietet. Das Restaurant liegt seitlich der Börse, die Sitzgelegenheiten sind im ganzen Haus verteilt. Am schönsten sitzt man in der ersten Etage. Die Bedienung geht sehr schnell und ist sehr freundlich, dass es das Menü ist einzigartig. Wir hatten gebratenen Reis mit WasserSpinat, davor Frühlingsrollen, ich hatte die gedämpften Rippchen und die per Hand zerdrückten Gurken als Vorspeise gedämpften Reis und Gambas mit Bohnen als Hauptspeise. Ich habe lange nicht mehr so lecker chinesisch gegessen, ich kann dieses Restaurant anstandslos empfehlen und wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

An upscale level of Chinese cuisine, this restaurant has declined over the past 4 years. The ambience is still great. The service is very attentive, courteous and friendly. The food used to be better. Four years ago I experienced my second, perfect dim sum from Hong Kong here. As of 2024 it is good, but not very good. Portions smaller, more frozen goods, more uniform taste.

Everything was delicious and we ordered everything. Service was great. Restaurant was beautiful. However, the prices were not the usual ‘Chinatown’ dim sum prices. I guess they can charge steep prices because the food is great. Although I would love to keep coming here, I’ll come without the whole family with teenage boys. 😆

Nice restaurant with very attentive service. The Peking duck, which you have to order in advance, was delicious, but the oyster sauce served with it is very intense and the truffle rice doesn't go well with it in my opinion. Prices are high, especially for the drinks.

The roast duck is delicious. You need to make a reservation two days in advance or the day before. The service staff is very good. The fried rice is quite salty and other dishes are delicious. It is quite authentic Chinese food.

Great spot to go on a date or with a another couple so you can share everything! We had fried sepia cake, dumplings, and cumber salad. All were so good but the cucumber salad still has me dreaming about the dressing. We also had sides of fried rice, gong pao chicken, and braised pork belly. Everything was delicious, no complaints. Definitely will be back. Service and atmosphere were also great.

The dim sum here are delicious! I ordered har gow, siu mai, seetang, and fried noodle. All three dishes taste great, but the portion size is quite small and the prices are quite high. However, the waitstaff is friendly and attentive.

Service is terrible. Food is okayish but far away for worth the price. We spend a couple of hundred euros for the Peking and they charge you 1 euro per extra pancake - unacceptable.

Das Essen war zwar gut und die Bedienung nett, aber es war unglaublich teuer und die Portionen winzig. Für 4 Dumplings 9 Euro zu verlangen ist Wucher!

Absolut unterirdischer Service. Hatten einen Tisch reserviert für 7 Personen um 20.00 Uhr. Wir waren pünktlich dort bzw. sogar ein paar Minuten vorher. Man lies und erstmal lange am Eingang warten. Nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen war der Tisch immer noch nicht frei. Es ist 20.20. Tisch ist immer noch nicht bereit. Man bietet uns Getränke aufs Haus an, die nie gereicht werden. Wir fragen um 20.30 abermals nach. Es heißt der Tisch sei in 20 Minuten bereit. Nach mehrmaligem freundlichen Nachfragen und auffordern nix passiert. Wir haben dann klar gemacht, dass wir den Tisch nicht mehr wollen und sind schließlich nach 30 Minuten warten in ein anderes Restaurant. Kellner und Besitzer waren mit der Lage absolut überfordert und haben die Situation so schlecht wie irgend möglich gehandelt. Gerne würde ich für diese katastrophale Leistung 0 Sterne geben. Edit: nach einem Jahr heute wieder dort gewesen. Dim Sum und Hauptspeisen waren sehr lecker. Service etwas chaotisch, aber lieb und freundlich. Kein Vergleich zu der Erfahrung von vor einem Jahr. Entsprechend habe ich die Bewertung deutlich nach oben angepasst

vorne Hui hinten Pfui.... Wir sind in der Not dort gelandet. Nachdem unser bevorzugter Asiaten nebenan keinen Platz hatte. Nach ewigem hin und her der Speisekarte (vor der Türe) und einem Hinweis eines Gastes (es war sehr gut) sind wir rein. Leider schaut nur der ersichtliche Bereich ansprechend aus. Wir wurden in eine Art überdachten Hinterhof geleitet (viel Nippes, schlimmes Ambiente). Der Service war Chaotisch, auf die Frage was es denn ihne Glutamat gibt gab es lediglich gebratene Nudeln mit Gemüse. Alles fettig und das Gemüse fast roh alles in Allem sehr enttäuschend. Zieht man die hohen Preise noch betracht, gibt es für mich keinen Grund nochmals in Versuchung zu kommen!

Auf dieses Restaurant wurde ich durch Tiktok aufmerksam. Alles was ich dann gelesen habe und die Bilder sprachen mich positiv an. Und was soll ich sagen....wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Wenn es ein minus Punkt gibt, dann ist es die Lokation. Aber man nimmt was man bekommt als Inhaber und macht das beste draus. Es ist für mich ein wenig eng mit den Tischen. Man hat nicht wirklich Privatsphäre. Aber ich muss auch leider dazu sagen, das mir das bei einigen Lokationen aufgefallen ist. So nun zum essen. Wir haben uns einmal quer durch die Karte gegessen. Es waren ca. 8 Gerichte. Der absolute Höhepunkt war die Ente. Vielleicht auch weil ich Ente nicht mag.... aber diese hat mich eines besseren überzeugt. Es gibt ein kleines Päckchen aus Bananenblatt mit Reis, dieser ist gefüllt... dieses Gericht Suchtfaktor. Also wenn man Asiatisch mag, was besonderes möchte, dann ist man hier genau richtig. Auch natürlich nicht zu vergessen und das ist deren Spezialität Die Gedämpften Speisen.

Die Bedienung ist tadellos die Einrichtung sehr gemütlich und gepflegt. Das Essen ist gut, haben verschiedene Dim sum und Peking Ente bestellt, allerdings finde ich, dass die Portionen für die Preise eindeutig zu klein sind.

Leider waren wir ziemlich enttäuscht von Madame Mei. Das Essen ist ganz OK aber sehr sehr überteuert. Wir haben zu zweit 51€ ohne Getränke ausgegeben und waren am Ende nicht mal wirklich satt. Die Portionen sind Mini und sind sehr teuer. Es gibt viele andere chinesische Restaurants in Frankfurt mit wesentlich besserem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Absolut authentisch und wahnsinnig lecker. Erscheint erstmal teuer aber wenn man den Aufwand für die Dim Sum kennt, relativiert es sich.

因为有午餐套餐，没有想象中那么贵，服务员态度也不错。环境不错，喜欢屏风，超一半的客人是德国人。

Gemütliche Atmosphäre, sehr nettes Personal und leckeres, traditionell chinesisches Essen. Die Ente Shanghai war ein besonderes Highlight mit sehr interessanten Geschmacksnuancen (Zimt, Koriander und Sternanis) und zartem Fleisch. Die Wasabigarnelen waren auch super! Wir haben, ohne Reservierung, direkt einen Tisch für zwei bekommen. Preise sind gehoben (~25€ für ein Hauptgericht) und wir haben am Ende etwa 60€ pro Person gezahlt. Kartenzahlung möglich.

Wir waren eine größere Gruppe mit 15 Leuten, 5 davon hatten ein 3-Gänge-Menü bestellt. Die Bedienung war so hektisch, dass es schon unfreundlich war. Man hatte eher das Gefühl, sie wollte uns schnell abfrühstücken und dann los werden. Wie das Menü aufgebaut war, wurde auch nicht deutlich kommuniziert. Das Essen aber war fantastisch und der Preis angemessen.

Ich war jetzt 2mal dort und kann nicht verstehen wie es zu den negativen Kommentaren kommt. Mega freundlicher Service, ALLE super freundlich. Die ältere Dame erklärte mir noch warum ich die Ente mit Knochen und nicht ohne nehmen soll. Ja, hochpreisig, aber für die gebotenen Qualität ist das absolut gerechtfertigt. Ich komme definitiv wieder !

Authentisches chinesisches Essen, sehr lecker, sehr zu empfehlen

Auch wenn es manchmal etwas hektisch wird, ist ein Lunch dort absolut zu empfehlen und geschmacklich wird authentische Küche geboten, z.B. eine ordentliche Dumpling-Nudel-Suppe.

Trotz Reservierung mussten wir 30 Minuten vor der Türe warten. Das Essen ist insgesamt gut, allerdings trifft dies nicht auf alle Dim Sum zu, einige wirken etwas lieblos und für ihre Größe überteuert. Das Ambiente ist dafür sehr schön, aber wer hervorragend asiatisch speisen will hat in Frankfurt noch andere Optionen.

El sitio es muy agobiante, con las mesas una encima de otras. La comida muy normalita, ni los famosos xiao long bao son tan buenos. Pedimos el soft shell crab y era pura fritura con una montaña de verduras mal salteadas y sin gusto alguno. Y eso por 33 Eur! The food and ambiance was amazing. Price not so much.
