Luxor Grill in Düsseldorf

Outrageous employee. I wanted half a chicken that was cooked a little more, and she gave me the exact opposite even though I told her so. She said she couldn't sell the top pieces, etc. Blah blah. I'm never eating there again. I pay for my food, and then they try to dictate what I order! How rude some people have become! I would fire staff like that immediately. If she doesn't want to work, she should stay home.

A chip shop without any frills! Half a chicken with chips, nice and simple and simply delicious! Excellent value for money! The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere reminds me of a wonderful childhood. I'll definitely be back.

The chicken was okay, the fries were soggy and doughy inside, and the potato salad was delicious. Prices were good. The service was polite, yes, but completely grumpy. The worst part: if we hadn't asked for the receipt, we wouldn't have found out that she had simply charged us 5 cents for the (standard) plastic bag. We told her that wasn't okay; if she was going to charge us for it, she had to ask if we agreed. Her reply: I can't ask 100 times a day. Yes, she has to. And we don't have to go there again.

The meal for the four of us was very good. The restaurant was clean. The service was very polite and interested in whether we enjoyed everything. I don't understand the negative review. We will definitely return. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Why did I go there without reading reviews first? :( The food is NOT freshly prepared - the Schnitzel and mashed potatoes were heated in the microwave as a daily special for €7.50. It tasted worse than anything from a supermarket, ugh.

The Luxor Grill has been around for decades. The new one, unfortunately, isn't recommended. The chicken was very small, still slightly pink, with flabby skin and all the feathers still attached. The shashlik was more like a very cheap goulash. I got a stomach ache that evening; it's a shame it went so bad.

All in all, a very good snack bar. Service is always friendly. The food is exactly what it should be, very tasty, and prepared quickly. Everything is very clean. So, exactly what you would expect. I always enjoy coming here :)

The shashlik tasted like it was days old. There was hardly any sauce, and the one that was there tasted like it was burnt. The currywurst wasn't cooked all the way through. No meaty taste at all. The sauce here was a complete disaster, too: tomato sauce with no flavor at all. Still looking for curry. Fries were cold, hard as steel, and very dark. My family was very disappointed because we were always enthusiastic about half a chicken. You can't live on chicken alone. So, pay attention to all products and their quality.

The food is a disaster, everything is cold, the portion of fries is very small. We let the saschlik go back because it was inedible and there wasn't even an apology. The currywurst had probably been on the grill for a while and the sauce didn't taste good either. Conclusion not recommended

The fries were lukewarm, the bratwurst was rather hard and chewy and the (homemade) curry sauce was more like tomato sauce with a little spice. I don't know, but I think it used to be better there, I wouldn't go there anymore.

I was craving half a chicken. How can such a dried up part still be sold? The skin no longer separated from the dried flesh underneath. There was only one thing to do: throw it in the trash.

The chicken and fries are always delicious. So far I have always eaten locally. Chicken is nice and tender, the skin is crispy and the fries are nice and crispy. The way it should be. The service is always very nice and attentive.

We've been eating there for over 30 years. But this time on December 17th, 2024 everything was very tasty and the chicken was grilled to perfection. We'd love to come back.

Very disastrous new service. Today I got bratwurst with burnt fries, disgusting :(!!!! The dark employee had his finger in his ear 👂 and touched my fries 🍟 with his finger. I was scared to eat. I ate some of the sausage and left the rest... NEVER AGAIN!!! LUXOR UNTERRATH It's very shameful that you get banned from the house if you speak the truth!!! Was recently kicked out because I wrote the truth, absolute truth in the review.. THIS IS A SHAME!!!!

If I want to go out for a fine meal, I go to a fine restaurant. If I want to eat really good fries and currywurst with delicious sauce, the only place for me is the Unterrather Luxor Grill with its wonderfully no-frills ambience. Very clean!!! Wonderfully tasty fries with brilliant sauces (homemade) and a solid currywurst. Brought to the table by the nicest chip shop man in the world. Simply a great snack bar with a solid and original offering. Great!!!!!!

Pictures say more than a thousand words. I specifically asked that the fries be fried light, not dark. The chicken in the package was full of water, disgusting. They are also very small with little meat. Guys, you have a unique selling point here in Unterrath, why so listless? The store also looked really dirty.

I am from Berlin. There is no doubt that Berlin has by far the best currywurst. So I decided to have a shish kebab here a few years ago. One of the best decisions of my life. There really is the best shashlik in Germany!! It's crazy. The meat is incredibly tender and fat-free. The sauce is crazy. I would like to say something about other dishes. I can not. It is not possible for me not to order a shish kebab skewer. I'm in Düsseldorf twice a year. Never without eating shish kebab here at least once. My recommendation: two skewers with fries and cola. You have to try it!! You will also receive friendly service and the prices are great. It couldn't be better!!

I was there in mid-July 2022 and took a currywurst... I didn't have fries because there were already ready-made ones on the shelf and I didn't want them. The currywurst is one of the worst I have ever eaten... even the currywursts from the refrigerated counter a la CurryKing taste world class... The sauce was like water, had no taste and the sausage tasted like toilet paper…

Schnitzel golden brown but unfortunately tastes like cardboard. Good sauce but very little Portions are very small. We gave the store another chance after 20 years. Unfortunately it hasn't gotten any better.

Today I took half a chicken with me again (for a long time). The chicken was at the bottom of the grill because the racks were full. Since not only chicken is grilled in the same grill, e.g. grilled knuckles, the fat is poured down onto the already grilled chicken. As a result, the skin of the chicken is limp and does not remain crispy and has a soup-like aftertaste. I can only recommend chicken that is pulled directly from the grill. If there is already something on the bottom of the grill, keep your hands off it.

My wife and I ate chicken schnitzel and pork schnitzel with fries once, the schnitzels were both inedible and the fries were in the deep fryer for far too long. The person serving there was also totally unfriendly and the tables were rubbish, unfortunately you can't give zero stars. JUST DISGUSTING.

I have to be very surprised at some of the bad reviews. I've been a customer there for at least 40 years and have never experienced anything so allegedly negative. And I don't suffer from a lack of quality awareness. Very tasty, varied lunch menu. Chicken small, but always properly grilled, tasty and absolutely appropriate for the price. There is almost always chicken fricassee and fried chicken liver with rice and onions. The fries are also very good. The mayonnaise tastes remarkably delicious. There's even pork knuckle on Fridays.

I've never eaten currywurst fries so salty in my entire life. The first time I thought, okay, it can happen, but now I went back, threw away food abnormally, very sad. Customer service, zero. Never again

Shish kebab with fries, a beer, and finally the end of the day. Can't be hard?!? Puppy cake!! Shish kebab cold, fries all the hotter but completely over salted! Mini portion, hardly any sauce and only cola, soda or water as a drink. Nothing about having a beer after work. All together then just 8 euros in an unheated slug. Portions are getting smaller and smaller but the price is fairly reasonable. Clean and have different dishes every day. Update: Ate at Luxor three times within a month. Fries are bitter every time, which indicates old oil. Coleslaw with cream without any taste. No salt, pepper or anything like that. Cream probably just added to the cabbage. Chicken was also a bit older, which was confirmed by the bitter taste of the skin and the dry meat. I'm here at least 3-4 times a week but after the third disappointment I have to change stores.

The "chicken" was more of a quail that was too small. The fries were very oily and not tasty. Maybe change the frying oil. All in all it was just bad and expensive. I don't want to rate the service here at all.

Today it was nothing. The shish kebab sauce (spelled correctly??) was very over-seasoned, but the meat was okay. The service was friendly. Thanks for that. But as I said, when it comes to spices, sometimes less is more.

Neue Crew? Schaschlik, Currywurst und Pommes waren heute grauenhaft. Schaschlik komplett ohne Sauce, Currywurst mit 1 cm Sauce in der Schale. Pommes labberig. Kennen wir eigentlich besser.

Nun ja, ich habe hier zweimal gegrilltes Hähnchen gekauft. Die Verkäuferin schien ständig schlecht gelaunt und wenig motiviert bei der Arbeit zu sein. Der Besitzer sollte sich vielleicht ein Beispiel an Restaurants in England oder den USA nehmen. Im Vergleich zu hier gibt es wirklich deutliche Unterschiede. Dort wird man schon allein mit einem freundlichen Gruß und einem Lächeln empfangen. Außerdem waren die Hähnchen für den Preis viel zu klein. Wir werden hier definitiv nicht noch einmal hingehen.

Leckeres Essen für einen einigermaßen fairen Preis

Ich habe heute eine Bestellung zum Mitnehmen aufgegeben. Mit mir zusammen war eine alte Dame und fragte nach Hähnchen. Die Verkäuferin, die schon von ihrer Art sehr schroff ist, sagte es gibt keine Hähnchen mehr und dass es noch 10 Minuten dauere. Als die alte Dame meinte sie hätte was im Schaufenster gesehen, wurde die Verkäuferin sehr unhöflich und pöbelte die Kundin an mit den Worten: "Ich habe auch Augen". Die alte Dame war überrascht und ging raus und erwiderte, dass man das auch höflich sagen kann. Daraufhin fragte sie mich in einem unfreundlichen Ton und als ich 2 halbe Hähnchen bestellte, meinte sie in einem unhöflichen Ton, sie habe doch gesagt, dass es 10 Minuten dauert. Ich antwortete, dass ich es weiß und dass ich glaube, dass sie schlecht gelaunt ist. Daraufhin wurde sie noch unhöflicher und fuchtelte mit den Händen und pöbelte mich an. Ich wies sie darauf hin, dass sie bitte höflich zu sein hat. Sie meinte sie muss gar nichts, sie hat Stress. Auch als ich ihr sagte, ich beschwere mich bei ihrem Chef, machte sie eine zynische Bemerkung: "Ach was Chef, ich habe keine Angst vorm Chef." Ich bin Kundin und zahle hier Geld und so werde ich behandelt? Ich bin auch berufstätig, gehe aber nicht so mit Menschen um. Ich finde dieses Verhalten respektlos und nicht hinnehmbar.

Das leckerstest Hähnchen hier in NRW! Einfach nur zum empfehlen

Habe über Jahre hier meine Hähnchen gekauft die Samstags Bedienung hat gewechselt. Waren heute mal wieder vor Ort zum Essen wurden leider erneut enttäuscht kleine Hähnchen die Portion Pommes mit Mayo sehr klein und die Preise erneut angehoben. Sehr Schade. Mich habt Ihr leider als Euren Kunden verloren. Und der Herr hinter der Thecke erreicht mich leider auch nicht.

Super nettes Personal und sehr lecker!

Habe lange gewartet. Schnitzel war verbrannt es wurde direkt ein neues schnitzel in der fritteuse getan. Zuhause Pommes waren inzwischen zu kalt und das Hähnchen zu trocken und alt. Das ist mir leider inzwischen schon 2 mal passiert 🙄

Kann man mal machen, ich finde deren Hähnchen ziemlich lecker. Alles andere habe ich noch hat nicht ausprobiert. Preis-Leistung perfekt.

Bin hier immer gerne Essen gekommen. Leider wurden die Hähnchenschnitzel durch andere aus Seperatorenfleisch ausgetauscht, die halb so groß sind wie vorher, werde hier nicht mehr hinkommen. Portionen sind kleiner geworden und Preise angehoben .

Leckere Haxe, beste Hähnchen, Mittagstisch supi, kleine Preise

Grösser Imbiss. Macht eine sauberen Eindruck. Grillhähnchen ware saftig und gut gewürzt.
