Friendly staff, good food, I felt comfortable there

Lovely café/restaurant right on Lake Unterbacher. I've only ever been there when the weather's nice, so I've sat outside. The cakes and drinks are delicious! The atmosphere is also lovely, and the service is always friendly! Definitely worth a visit, especially after a walk around Lake Unterbacher. 😊

A very nice place to relax with a beautiful view of the lake. The food is delicious and varied, but in my opinion, you pay for the view. It was quite busy when we were there, so I had the impression that the staff were a bit overwhelmed.

I celebrated my birthday here. The menu offers a good selection, and service was prompt (despite our large number of guests). The quality of the food was also excellent. The price-performance ratio wasn't quite right. Overall, everyone was very satisfied.

Well, the ambiance and the great location are truly a highlight. The food is better than you'd expect from a chip shop, but unfortunately, without the fries. It's simply too expensive. And even the slimmed-down menu is sold out. So, enjoy the location and hope the food gets better.

Service was very friendly and attentive. The food was good. Prices for drinks and food were about €3 more expensive than at other restaurants. However, the location on the lake is very beautiful, and you can simply escape the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind. Pedal boat rentals are right next door. We enjoyed it.

It's always worth a trip! After a walk around the lake, eating here with a great view over the lake is the perfect way to end the day.

We were here for coffee and cake on a summer Saturday afternoon in beautiful weather. The location right on the lake with a fantastic view is simply amazing. Unfortunately, the culinary experience we experienced here was quite low-standard. When we asked what cakes they had, we were offered, among other things, cheesecake. We ordered that, my friend with a latte macchiato. We were served a classic cheesecake. When I pointed out to the waiter that it wasn't a cheesecake, they simply said we could order cream, which would make it a cheesecake. No comment... Last but not least, the cheesecake turned out to be frozen and thawed, at least that's how I interpreted the watery taste. And instead of a latte macchiato, we were served a small latte. Latte macchiato wasn't even on the menu, so it's not available here. It would have been great if they had pointed that out to us when we ordered. Too bad...

There were four of us – it was early in the day and the place wasn't busy. We ordered: 2 coffees, 2 iced coffees, and 1 sandwich. The wrong coffees arrived after 5 minutes, and the iced coffees took a whopping 45 minutes – despite repeated requests and the message "coming soon." When we paid, we got a bonus: something on the bill that we hadn't even ordered. For anyone with plenty of time – absolutely recommended. For us: Never again.

The elderly gentleman at the reception desk is quite unfriendly; they shouldn't let him loose on customers. We'd normally like to have a nice meal, but the way he argues with customers, that's probably not going to happen. Better not again.

Beautiful view of the lake after a stroll! It's a great place to stop for a light lunch or coffee and cake! Delicious food! Not quite as cheap, but the great location makes up for it.

The lakeshore quickly creates a vacation atmosphere: a view of the relatively beautiful, large lake; a small sandy beach in front of the restaurant, sailboats, and a relaxed restaurant with very responsive, friendly, and personable staff. Plus, a good, extensive selection of food and drinks, tailored to the time of day and season. Outdoor and covered seating. A pleasant atmosphere. Seniors at lunchtime, juniors and older adults in the evening. Affordable parking is available almost right outside the door. If you need that vacation feeling at your fingertips, you should definitely stop by.

Today, I paid €8.80 for a 0.75-liter bottle of water—that's the last straw. They should have studied the menu beforehand.

We've been there several times for breakfast and coffee. Everything was always perfect. The service was very friendly and polite. There's an extensive menu with a wide selection. The dishes were always fresh and tasty. They also offer a wide selection of drinks, especially the latte macchiato, which is delicious. Even small special requests were fulfilled without being charged extra. When we were waiting for our taxi after dinner, we were able to sit without being pressured into anything. Highly recommended.

Overall, it's actually a cool restaurant with a beautiful view. However, I wouldn't recommend it as a café. The cappuccino was more foam than coffee, and although the waffles were delicious, the coffee was already cold by the time we got them. I also find the four euros for the extra scoop of vanilla ice cream on the waffle to be quite excessive. While the taste is excellent, the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes, it's beautifully situated on the water with a view of sailing ships. The outdoor terrace offers a pure holiday feeling! The music is a bit too loud for me or for older people who want to chat. Fantastic beach bar atmosphere.

The drinks came quickly but the food came after about 35 minutes. The service was nice but they forgot to bring me a cup to pour my drink in. The schnitzel was pretty good, and my dad loved it. But my mom said that the meat in the burger that she ordered was not cooked good. I would suggest that it’s a good place to eat with a family and there’s a nice view of the lake if you sit outside.

The food at the Sehrestaurant at the boat harbor is consistently good—fresh, tasty, and consistently high quality. The prices are reasonable and appropriate for the location. Unfortunately, the service often leaves something to be desired: While the staff is friendly, it usually takes quite a while to order or to receive your food. The view of the water and the relaxed atmosphere partially make up for this. Overall, a nice place with good food, if you have a little patience.

€20 for a burger that costs €3 at McDonald's. That won't even fill you up. With potato wedges, ketchup, and mayo. I used to eat at a steakhouse for 40 DM. 😢

Prices are out of this world. Currywurst with potato wedges costs €16.80. Online, you can only see what's on offer, but no prices. Otherwise, no one would probably come. Absolutely not recommended. Especially with family.

We were there on a Monday afternoon. The atmosphere was nice. But the food was a disaster. The spare ribs (about €22) are tough and have far too many flavor enhancers, so you can't taste the meat anymore. The burger is a bit better than McDonald's, but for about €19, it's a bit overkill.

Very good, I can only recommend it. Great chef, friendly staff, and very child-friendly. If you're visiting the beach, you should definitely eat there.

Beautiful place in good weather

Card payments over 20 euros :) I just wanted a beer and was out beforehand. But hey, that's their right.

In dry weather, we sat in the open-sided tent overlooking the lake and enjoyed a hearty breakfast from the extensive menu. This included a subsequent pedal boat ride.

A vacation feeling on the outskirts of the city with a beautiful view of the lake and the sailboats. A relaxed outdoor area – partially covered – with plenty of seating. Friendly and attentive service. A creative, excellent, and tasty selection of dishes. Cakes are also available in the afternoon. Parking is available in front of the door at reasonable rates.

Unfortunately, it's not very child-friendly. An unsympathetic older gentleman refused to buy us ice cream for our daughter, saying the bar staff couldn't handle it. Yes, the restaurant was full and probably doesn't make enough money to buy ice cream for the kids, but when the weather is nice and the ice cream menu is large and advertises ice cream, you shouldn't refuse to buy ice cream and look at the sad eyes of children. What a shame.

There's nowhere else around where you can have such a good breakfast with a view of the lake as you would on vacation. Our service was very nice and friendly!

I only came for the famous Speigel eggs. For that, I'm willing to travel 500 kilometers, suffer a flat tire, and have a philosophical crisis. Because anyone who's ever eaten Speigel eggs knows: This isn't breakfast—it's a revelation.😋

It's actually a nice ambiance, but this leads the owners to treat their guests carelessly. The waiters don't even know what's on their menu; some of the items are ready-made meals, which are reheated and offered at outrageous prices. Even with three-figure orders, guests are treated like they're at a snack bar. The apple strudel, for example, costs €10 more than almost anywhere else, is dry, lacks vanilla sauce, and has been warmed up in the microwave...outrageous.

The prices are high. The Belgian waffles are okay. The location is top-notch. Lake view in a quiet spot.

We had a lovely time here in bright sunshine, with delicious food and friendly service. Is it cheap? Not really! A large water costs over €5, wow. However, you can see it on the menu beforehand; it states in bold that card payments are only accepted for €20 or more.

Beautiful place. Unfortunately, the music was very loud, unbearable for me. When I asked, the waitress said, "We need the music, we can't turn it down." Three other guests I asked said they "didn't care" about the music or were "not particularly bothered" by it. No one wanted it.

I have to say, even if the food is okay, the prices are a disgrace 74 euros for 4 drinks and 3 dishes. Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly in our opinion. My daughter wanted a waffle (before 2 p.m.) and we were told that it doesn't work until 2 p.m., so we waited another 45 minutes. At 2pm we tried to order again and were then told in a very unfriendly manner that we could no longer take orders because an order had just been taken from a larger group. Yes, thank you very much for nothing, I was then allowed to explain to my daughter why she wasn't getting a waffle and was then allowed to drive home with sad children's eyes.

We are there often. The waffles are very tasty and can be received, but when there is a lot going on, you can also wait a long time for your waffles. So far, other food has always impressed us, very tasty. The location by the lake is very nice and recommended. The prices are a little higher. Service has always been very good. The restaurant makes a young and modern impression, even on social media! The only drawback I find is a shame that there is not a single milk alternative for coffee, cocoa, etc. Many restaurants are now managing to offer an alternative. Maybe that will be possible soon, that would be great.

Beautiful place to stay, especially when the weather is nice. The selection of food and drinks is very good, the prices are reasonable for a seasonal business. The waitresses are friendly and well-rehearsed, everything seems well organized. Here you can chill out and take a break from everyday life. Thumbs up.

I was there for the first time yesterday and found the location and location really nice to have a relaxed drink (which was also really tasty). Clear recommendation for the Sarti Spritz ;) The prices are a bit high, but at least for the drinks they are still affordable. In other locations in such a location you pay more. I can't say anything about the food as I only ordered something to drink. Service was super nice and attentive, despite the fact that the waitress had been there for more than 12 hours

We passed the visual restaurant on our moped tour. Very well-kept and beautiful restaurant with a beach club atmosphere. Service very friendly and accommodating. Only had something to drink, so no review of the food.

I was there for the first time on Tuesday. The ambience and location are very good. For dinner I had a Mediterranean starter plate. It was very lush and very good quality. I was so impressed that I went straight back there today for breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast cannot remotely keep up with the quality of the evening meal. The bread and croissant were good, unfortunately the roll was just a cheap baked roll. The cheese and cold cuts were only cheap products from the bulk pack - which I generally don't think is a bad thing, but there are big differences there too. The service was sweet! Really great service! 5 stars! The older gentleman who showed the guests to the tables at the entrance was nasty and unfriendly. He came to our table and there was a little discussion... Just because of his demeanor, we canceled our last drink order (sorry again to the waitress) and left early. Although we would have liked to stay. If he had been there on Tuesday I would have chosen a different restaurant for today's breakfast. He alone ensures a 2 star rating.

Wonderful view, super friendly and fast team. Food 1a but also expensive. It makes up for a lot, you should treat yourself if you want to do something good for yourself. Both thumbs up. Great waiters and a hard-working boss who could easily give his regular guests one for the nice recession😀

Right on the lake, very crowded and loud when the weather is good, the food isn't that good, but the prices are reasonable, and we didn't get full either. It wasn't worth it.

My partner and I just wanted to have a drink in the outdoor restaurant area when the weather was nice. When paying, we were informed that a minimum consumption of EUR 20 was required to pay by card. A generous tip to compensate for possible EC card fees was also rejected. Unfortunately we didn't have any cash with us, so we were forced to order food to go to get the required EUR 20. Such a minimum limit is no longer appropriate these days, especially not at just under EUR 6 for an apple spritzer.

I'm at the lake at least three times a week and have already eaten up and down the menu in the visual restaurant. Absolutely TOP value for money and the colorful mix of dishes on the menu are great. Particularly worthy of mention is the always nice and friendly service and interaction of the employees with the guests. Today a new employee / Stergio was there and we (3 friends) received extremely friendly service again. I'm always happy to come back there.

Great holiday atmosphere thanks to the view of the lake and the hustle and bustle of sailors, but for me the drinks are just too expensive. That hasn’t changed in 2025 either. But the employees are very friendly and our order was brought to the table super quickly today.

10€ for a small coffee + soft drink to take away... Absolute rip-off!

Be careful if you order an extra portion of sour cream. I had a baked potato for €11 and couldn't get by with the 20 grams of sour cream. I asked if I could get some more sour cream so I could eat the dry potato. This was kindly delivered to me. However, in the end I had a rude awakening - €5 for just 20 grams of extra sour cream is outrageous! And especially when the waitresses don't even point out the (excessive) extra costs when you order! It's also a shame that the restaurant doesn't allow my post and this is the second time I've tried to leave honest feedback...

The visual restaurant is actually just a glorified chip shop when it comes to the quality and taste of the food on offer. The only thing that has allowed this restaurant to survive for ages is its location on the beautiful Unterbacher Lake, which invites you to linger and attracts walk-in customers on sunny weekends. You can live well with it and there is no incentive to improve since you are the gastronomic monopoly on Lake U-See. Unfortunately, this is a completely wasted opportunity to use this really cool location to offer innovative and tasty cuisine, to organize beach parties in the summer or to transform this location into a stylish Sylter beach bar. You could turn this restaurant into a top spot in Düsseldorf if you wanted to (some of the suggestions are quite inexpensive to implement) but apparently the operator of the visual restaurant has no vision for it.

Unfortunately there are only very expensive bottled beers here, so we went back 10m and bought them there.

GORGEOUS...but no chance without a reservation!

Es liegt sehr schön direkt am Wasser. Man hat verschiedene Möglichkeiten zu sitzen, in Sonnenstühle oder auf bequemen Stühlen sowie in der Sonne oder Schatten. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und auch das Essen ist gut. Man kann dort sehr schön den Feierabend genießen und auch den Sonnenuntergang.

The lakeside restaurant is a great place to sit by the lake, with a view of the sailing school. And you can do a lot.

It's just a very beautiful environment. I had a wonderful time sitting in the sun, listening to nice music and small music. Enjoyed breakfast. Nice, very friendly service who also answered my questions. I always enjoy coming here.

Seems upmarket (also in terms of price...) but unfortunately there isn't even any draft beer. Only bottles. All in all, it's pretty out of the ordinary - but then you should also be able to offer veal schnitzel, beef fillet and draft beer. In my opinion, only the location on the lake without direct competition is used as a unique selling point.

When the weather is nice, it's like a day on vacation...

Beautiful view of the lake and that's about it. Germany is a service desert par excellence. As a family, we try to order waffles and chocolate cake as well as two tea and water. No order possible for 20 minutes because there was no service. After the service (finally) after about 5 minutes, I received two cups of bagged tea (fresh mint tea is not available) for 3 euros each and water (plastic bottle without glass) for 3.90 euros and then nothing. After 1 hour of waiting in vain, this was criticized, no word of apology from the service. We then paid for the completely overpriced drinks we received and decided not to come back.
