Good food at the beautiful Unterbacher See.

Beautiful place to stay, especially when the weather is nice. The selection of food and drinks is very good, the prices are reasonable for a seasonal business. The waitresses are friendly and well-rehearsed, everything seems well organized. Here you can chill out and take a break from everyday life. Thumbs up.

I was there for the first time yesterday and found the location and location really nice to have a relaxed drink (which was also really tasty). Clear recommendation for the Sarti Spritz ;) The prices are a bit high, but at least for the drinks they are still affordable. In other locations in such a location you pay more. I can't say anything about the food as I only ordered something to drink. Service was super nice and attentive, despite the fact that the waitress had been there for more than 12 hours

I was there for the first time on Tuesday. The ambience and location are very good. For dinner I had a Mediterranean starter plate. It was very lush and very good quality. I was so impressed that I went straight back there today for breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast cannot remotely keep up with the quality of the evening meal. The bread and croissant were good, unfortunately the roll was just a cheap baked roll. The cheese and cold cuts were only cheap products from the bulk pack - which I generally don't think is a bad thing, but there are big differences there too. The service was sweet! Really great service! 5 stars! The older gentleman who showed the guests to the tables at the entrance was nasty and unfriendly. He came to our table and there was a little discussion... Just because of his demeanor, we canceled our last drink order (sorry again to the waitress) and left early. Although we would have liked to stay. If he had been there on Tuesday I would have chosen a different restaurant for today's breakfast. He alone ensures a 2 star rating.

We passed the visual restaurant on our moped tour. Very well-kept and beautiful restaurant with a beach club atmosphere. Service very friendly and accommodating. Only had something to drink, so no review of the food.

Wonderful view, super friendly and fast team. Food 1a but also expensive. It makes up for a lot, you should treat yourself if you want to do something good for yourself. Both thumbs up. Great waiters and a hard-working boss who could easily give his regular guests one for the nice recession😀

Right on the lake, very crowded and loud when the weather is good, the food isn't that good, but the prices are reasonable, and we didn't get full either. It wasn't worth it.

My partner and I just wanted to have a drink in the outdoor restaurant area when the weather was nice. When paying, we were informed that a minimum consumption of EUR 20 was required to pay by card. A generous tip to compensate for possible EC card fees was also rejected. Unfortunately we didn't have any cash with us, so we were forced to order food to go to get the required EUR 20. Such a minimum limit is no longer appropriate these days, especially not at just under EUR 6 for an apple spritzer.

Take a walk in the nicest weather and enjoy the landscape

Unfortunately very little child-friendly. We were refused by an unempathetic older gentleman to buy an ice cream for our daughter because the bar staff couldn't deal with it. Yes, the restaurant was full and probably didn't bring in enough ice cream for the children, but when the weather is nice and there's a large ice cream menu, you shouldn't refuse it and relax and look into the sad children's eyes. Too bad.

I'm at the lake at least three times a week and have already eaten up and down the menu in the visual restaurant. Absolutely TOP value for money and the colorful mix of dishes on the menu are great. Particularly worthy of mention is the always nice and friendly service and interaction of the employees with the guests. Today a new employee / Stergio was there and we (3 friends) received extremely friendly service again. I'm always happy to come back there.

Great holiday atmosphere thanks to the view of the lake and the hustle and bustle of sailors, but for me the drinks are just too expensive. That hasn’t changed in 2025 either. But the employees are very friendly and our order was brought to the table super quickly today.

Be careful if you order an extra portion of sour cream. I had a baked potato for €11 and couldn't get by with the 20 grams of sour cream. I asked if I could get some more sour cream so I could eat the dry potato. This was kindly delivered to me. However, in the end I had a rude awakening - €5 for just 20 grams of extra sour cream is outrageous! And especially when the waitresses don't even point out the (excessive) extra costs when you order! It's also a shame that the restaurant doesn't allow my post and this is the second time I've tried to leave honest feedback...

10€ for a small coffee + soft drink to take away... Absolute rip-off!

The service was particularly attentive and very friendly. The food was very tasty and of high quality.

The view is priceless. I didn't like the cake selection. The salad was good. Card payments are accepted starting at €20. Prices are very high. Parking is available for a fee.

The visual restaurant is actually just a glorified chip shop when it comes to the quality and taste of the food on offer. The only thing that has allowed this restaurant to survive for ages is its location on the beautiful Unterbacher Lake, which invites you to linger and attracts walk-in customers on sunny weekends. You can live well with it and there is no incentive to improve since you are the gastronomic monopoly on Lake U-See. Unfortunately, this is a completely wasted opportunity to use this really cool location to offer innovative and tasty cuisine, to organize beach parties in the summer or to transform this location into a stylish Sylter beach bar. You could turn this restaurant into a top spot in Düsseldorf if you wanted to (some of the suggestions are quite inexpensive to implement) but apparently the operator of the visual restaurant has no vision for it.

Unfortunately there are only very expensive bottled beers here, so we went back 10m and bought them there.

GORGEOUS...but no chance without a reservation!

Es liegt sehr schön direkt am Wasser. Man hat verschiedene Möglichkeiten zu sitzen, in Sonnenstühle oder auf bequemen Stühlen sowie in der Sonne oder Schatten. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und auch das Essen ist gut. Man kann dort sehr schön den Feierabend genießen und auch den Sonnenuntergang.

The lakeside restaurant is a great place to sit by the lake, with a view of the sailing school. And you can do a lot.

It's just a very beautiful environment. I had a wonderful time sitting in the sun, listening to nice music and small music. Enjoyed breakfast. Nice, very friendly service who also answered my questions. I always enjoy coming here.

Seems upmarket (also in terms of price...) but unfortunately there isn't even any draft beer. Only bottles. All in all, it's pretty out of the ordinary - but then you should also be able to offer veal schnitzel, beef fillet and draft beer. In my opinion, only the location on the lake without direct competition is used as a unique selling point.

Beautiful location that is always well attended. The food is OK but not excellent.

Beautiful view of the lake and that's about it. Germany is a service desert par excellence. As a family, we try to order waffles and chocolate cake as well as two tea and water. No order possible for 20 minutes because there was no service. After the service (finally) after about 5 minutes, I received two cups of bagged tea (fresh mint tea is not available) for 3 euros each and water (plastic bottle without glass) for 3.90 euros and then nothing. After 1 hour of waiting in vain, this was criticized, no word of apology from the service. We then paid for the completely overpriced drinks we received and decided not to come back.

Yesterday, when the weather was nice and the sun was shining, we sat on the terrace and had a cozy cafe latte macchiato. Super friendly staff, highly recommended if you take a walk around Lake Unterbacher and then stop off there.

Judging by the prices, it's a restaurant but unfortunately just an expensive chip shop. In comparison, it is about 30% too expensive, which wouldn't matter if the quality justified it.

Overpriced and unfriendly with arbitrary "rules" After a long walk, we chose the restaurant to recharge our batteries. Despite the small number of guests (around 4 tables), the waitress didn't "allow" us to sit at the window. There were only two of us?! 🫠 After a "place for two" we wanted to order a Bergische waffle. Here then is the seemingly arbitrary time limit. You can only order waffles from 2 p.m. (order time: 1:30 p.m.). So this is also more of a letdown without an explanation why from 2 p.m. and not 30 minutes earlier? 😂 Then wanted to share a cake. It then came with a fork for two people 😂 When we asked for napkins, these also came as a single one - that's two and we should please shape and lay them out 😂 That's how much service there was for 14.30€ (cappuccino, Cocoa and cake) are too much of a good thing. The only plus point: the order came quickly. Everything tasted ok...nothing special.

Ordered two coffees to go, initially with a waiting time. No problem. After 5 minutes, there was suddenly too much to do.

It's a failure every time I'm there. Unfriendly, overpriced and if the shop closes at 5 p.m. you are no longer allowed to order after 3:30 p.m. :) a big joke this store despite the actually great location. But no surprise - that's what everyone you talk to about the store says.

We were here a few times to eat waffles and drink coffee. The weapons are the best around. The serving staff was extremely friendly. We'd love to come back.

Very cozy. Light beach atmosphere. The lake 5 meters away. Nice background music. Very nice staff. No oat milk for the coffee but nice crema for the cappuccino, it's not easy even with real milk. You can do it here.

The restaurant “Se(h)blick” on Unterbacher See impresses with a beautiful view of the lake that invites you to linger. The food also left a good impression - the spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino and the spare ribs were tasty and well prepared. However, the lukewarm chocolate cake was cold. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. Although the restaurant was almost empty, the service had to be paid attention to as the staff were obviously busy among themselves. That somewhat spoiled the overall impression. Another point of criticism is the drink prices. Charging €5 for a 0.33l bottled beer seems to be at the limit of what is justifiable. Overall, the “Se(h)blick” offers a pleasant atmosphere thanks to the beautiful location, but there is still room for improvement when it comes to service and prices.

A restaurant with a lake view and then a ride on the pedal boat or vice versa. A restaurant shines through its staff. Here, eye contact is enough to order another drink. Thumbs up. The food is very tasty and completely sufficient. Very tasty. There is also the option of sitting on sand. We usually take a walk around Lake Unterbacher (approx. 8km) and then come to the restaurant for a drink. But the food is also highly recommended.

Fantastic restaurant with top service and amazing food offerings in a pristine setting. The 5km walk around Unterbacher See is just the best. The lake is beautiful with a myriad of birdlife and a forest to match with gorgeous nature trails and walking path. Friendly walkers along the trail make for a memorable experience. This morning we discovered two baby mice along the path that seemed to have wandered away from their mom and the nest. Thankfully, we succeeded in rescuing them from the pathway and a kind fellow walker offered to get them to the rehabilitation centre. The God of small things! And did I say that SE[H]RESTAURANT makes the most delicious iced coffee with vanilla icecream and cream 🧋

The restaurant is located directly on the lake with indoor and outdoor seating. When the weather is nice, you can have a relaxed breakfast in an idyllic location. Parking spaces are in the immediate vicinity. The service was friendly, the price-performance ratio was ok.

We were guests there recently at a late summer event and had a harmonious evening in all respects, which has a Mediterranean-chic ambience From tasty buffet food to the mega-chilled “fire bowl area” right on the water, nothing was missing. It was just a shame that it was quite cool in the evenings There were clearly not enough heaters set up to do that To warm the outside area more comprehensively. So we broke for reasons of cold (as other guests probably did too) Unfortunately up earlier, with “warmer terrace comfort” We would certainly have liked to stay. Nevertheless, thank you very much for a great effort Service and a thoroughly enjoyable company event!

We waited forever before we could order. The service generally makes a very annoyed impression. The price/performance ratio is not right at all: as an example: 8.80 euros for a small bowl of nachos with guacamole from a glass Thank you, never again.

The staff was friendly and quick with the orders. However, I am more than disappointed with my meal of sea bream fillet. I don't want to complain about the taste, but rather about the quantity. It was more of a salad with the sea bream as a side dish.

I stopped at the Se(h)blick restaurant on several days last week. The restaurant appears to be leaderless, but not soulless. The many summer temporary workers ensure this with their lightness and friendliness, which (in my case) made up for the confrontation with the inflexibility in the kitchen. Particularly noteworthy is Lucas, who made me feel like a friend and king during my/our visits. Having lived in Spain and the Arab Emirates for a long time, I am familiar with and prefer a hearty “you” to a stilted “you”. Dear Lucas, I say “thank you” and “keep it up” to you and your colleagues, who have their hearts in the right place! P.S.: I use the numerical masculine to preserve the flow of reading and speaking in our beautiful German language and assume that everyone can understand the personal meaning using their intelligence.

A short “vacation day” was spent in a relaxed atmosphere by the lake. Attentive service and a breakfast with everything you could wish for. Recommended.

Tested for the first time. The food was great. The service was very friendly, professional and attentive. The restaurant was very crowded outside and a bit loud at times. You had to sit at the table with others, which certainly doesn't suit everyone. It was empty inside, which was probably due to the beautiful view over the lake and the warm weather. The food came quickly for such a full restaurant and was great. Almost all places are well protected with parasols or pavilions. Overall - thanks to the good service, which was well supported by many helpers with clearing and serving, it was a pleasure and a pleasant experience. Parking is free for one hour, then a 2 euro day ticket. Parking can be paid by cash, card or app. Even boomers can operate the pay machine. The food was good value for money. Not cheap, but portable. Dogs can easily find space under the large tables. The waiters also routinely stepped over large dogs that were in the way. The menu offers manageably good starters, main courses and desserts, delicious ice cream and refreshing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I will definitely come back just because of the good food and the good staff.

The location right on the lake is wonderful. It was very nice there, the cafe latte was delicious, and there is a boat rental right there. A 2-seater pedal boat cost 12 euros per hour and a deposit of 25 euros is charged. The 25 euros will then be offset against the fare, which will then be billed per minute of delay.

So I've been back to the visual restaurant for a long time. I am very pleasantly surprised. The prices are, let's say, okay. Definitely completely acceptable for the food I got. The food was really good 😊. Well then I guess I'll have to come back more often...

Overly expensive and very small portions.

The actually beautiful location is unfortunately ruined by the overpriced prices and the IMPOSSIBLE service. With the terrace 1/3 full, we sat for 20 minutes to order. Although we made our presence known, the older waitress calmly picked up other guests and chatted with them for some time. When we were finally allowed to order, she was still rude. Never again!!

Nice restaurant right on the lake

I love it there. It doesn't matter whether you just want to drink a very tasty coffee, treat yourself to a cocktail or want something to eat, everything tastes simply excellent. The service was always very friendly and there was a great view of the lake. Just lovely! We have been there several times now and would love to come back. A nice place to unwind, enjoy and just have a good time. Thanks to the whole team, you're doing a really good job! And the chef (the cook?) gets an extra star from me. Priced in the middle range but absolutely justified compared to what you get.

Even though the location of the restaurant is really nice and the staff is very friendly, I have to say that the price/performance ratio here is far from right!! I paid just under €70 for a tomato soup, a tiny portion of Kaiserschmarrn and a turkey schnitzel with five potatoes, as well as four non-alcoholic drinks!? Honestly, that's bordering on a rip-off!!

Very brilliant location directly on Lake Unterbacher. We had breakfast and dinner there and both times we had a great time. The view over the lake, especially in the evening, is unsurpassed. Price/performance ratio is ok. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Just as a side note, it has less to do with the restaurant: I find it a disgrace that you now have to pay for the parking space (or rather pothole desert) for an hour or more. If everything was okay, I could live with it.

Simply far too expensive... more expensive than holiday hotspots... you now think twice about whether you want to enjoy a cool drink there, let alone eat something. ---- July 6th, 2024: really terrible. Based on my perception, I don't believe that native Düsseldorfers still bring their money here. We have once again been confirmed negative.
