The food and atmosphere were nice, but due to the location the food was very expensive. It's nice, if you can spend the buck, but I believe it's totally unnecessary. I found the food selection (vegetarian) not too interesting.

Today we went to the restaurant and ordered water and food. Unfortunately the water was very warm and the food wasn't fresh. To make matters worse, we saw more than two mice in the restaurant, which was very unhygienic and worrying. On the positive side, the drink I ordered was good, and the waiter was very nice and personable. This experience was very disappointing and unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Everything is good except that something is stated on the website that is not kept afterwards and you feel ripped off...

Rip-off and incompetent management! €10 entry to the public viewing, no consumption included. Average sausage costs €6. Management incapable of organizing fairly and also very unfriendly! Clear recommendation to avoid this location!

Unnecessarily overpriced, you definitely don't go there for the food...the location is of course great.

EM Public Viewing is falsely or misleadingly advertised on the Internet: €10 entry and €5 consumption voucher. We wanted to take advantage of this offer at yesterday's Germany game (June 19th), but we were only told at the concession stand that this was not valid at Germany games. It's an absolute shame not to write this out (at least in small print)... some guests we spoke to found this lure just as bold. For some people, including us, this was the first and last time in the Lumen!

At the European Championship games you advertise the entrance fee of 10 euros, which includes a consumption voucher of 5 euros. BUT!! For German games you pay €10 without a consumption voucher of €5. You only find out about this when you want to get your first drink. I have no understanding whatsoever!!

At some point I stopped going here because of the unfriendly boss.

I think it's outrageous that an entrance fee of EUR 10 is charged to watch a European Championship game on a large screen (which cannot be offset against food!).

Not bad, but more appearance than reality

Disaster, the current rating of 3.9 stars is still very good-natured. The service was rude and the food was overpriced. The quality is rather below average, the price doesn't suggest this at the beginning. Simple frozen fries as a burger side dish that have already been served cold (accompanied by unclean dishes) can be mentioned here as an example. In addition, the toilets are in poor hygiene and maintenance condition!!! Not happy again :(

Very good food, not really cheap but that's ok considering the quality. The food comes quickly but not too quickly, I have the impression that it is really freshly made. The service is sometimes a bit slow and sometimes spends a lot of time chatting - but that's ok, most of the service staff are trying hard. Example: We order three cocktails. My friends get both of theirs, I don't get mine. There were a few guests there, but definitely not a rush. After asking twice at the bar, the cocktail arrived, but unfortunately it took so long that a toast was only possible with the glasses only 1/3 full. It can happen, but I will avoid visiting the restaurant if more than a few tables are occupied.

Out waitress was rude. We had tea and dessert there. I asked for the second cup. The woman brought the second cup but was absolutely impolite telling me they do not provide the second cup. She was very unsatisfied with my small request. But if you already brought the second cup why talking to the quests in such unfriendly tone… she pissed me off. It is just cafe, just tea… and very bad experience There are more other wonderful cafes in Wiesbaden with friendly service.

Tip extortion! Recently in Lumen. The service no longer includes service staff. Not a friendly end to a good meal. No exchange with the service staff. A plastic part on the table for the payment app. And then selecting the tip by percentage. This is a modern form of manipulation. I can understand that in the USA, where minimum wage is often not paid. But in the expensive Lumen?? I'll stay away and give a tip voluntarily.

The restaurant's outdoor dining area is a great place to sit in summer temperatures. The range of dishes is wide-ranging. However, the prices are also impressive. You will be asked to pay €15 for a currywurst with French fries. Although tasty, the price/performance ratio is more than questionable.

Unfortunately the price/performance ratio does not match. The prices are way too expensive for what you get. The main courses all start at just under EUR 17 for Pisa or EUR 32 for schnitzel. I'm clearly missing a culinary policy from the restaurant. There's a little bit of everything. The quality of the food is okay, but there is no taste explosion either. There are better restaurants that specialize in cuisine topics. The service is not outstanding and rather satisfactory, a bit slow and inattentive. It's still nice to sit in the square and relax for a moment with a coffee.

Very unfriendly employees. If you go to this restaurant as a foreign customer, the waiters are not polite and friendly at all.

A friendly smile would look very good on the service staff.

I spent a great evening at Lumen as part of a company event. From a culinary point of view, the gnocchi with lemon pesto were my highlight - but I also felt completely at home with the modern ambience in the middle of the old town and the very attentive service. Thank you very much!

We had the pleasure of holding our corporate event at this restaurant and I was very impressed. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff extremely accommodating. The location is very practical and the furnishings are stylish. Overall, our visit was a success and I would happily recommend this restaurant.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. ++: Beautiful establishment. Good beer. --: Longest possible service (shaven-headed waiter). Nowhere have you had to wait so long to be approached as here. NOWHERE. - And this was at low occupancy, only a few tables were occupied. The food is not tasty and expensive.

Good food first! However, we were disappointed yesterday. Freshly squeezed orange juice was poured over us (i.e. one person). This can of course happen, although it must be said that the operator still has some room for learning when it comes to carrying the tray with two glasses on it. A mistake that would rarely happen to a professional. Unfortunately the shirt was white and new! Of course, they offered to cover the cleaning costs (if it was possible). In the end I had to pay the full amount of a good EUR 90 (for three breakfasts). After my objection, we were then given a waiver of around EUR 8.00. It's really not about the money: But I really find that more than petty and inappropriate - especially since you could have come up with this idea yourself. If this had happened in the USA, the entire bill would certainly have been borne by the house. I would have thought it was fair if the person in question had been free. It's a shame, considering the effort involved...

Lumen gave us a perfect evening at our European event with 35 people. The advice and communication before the event was very good. The food was delicious, the service staff was courteous and the wine selection was equally excellent! Thank you for the all-round successful event!

If it were possible to give 0 stars for the service, that would be my vote. Walking past the table 5 times without taking an order simply shows poorly trained staff or absolute service incompetence.

In 2023 we had the Christmas menu “GANS & gar”. Big praise for the delicious and fresh preparation, it tasted great. And special praise for the service staff, who very kindly and kindly provided the boxes for collection on the afternoon of December 24th, 2023.

There were 7 of us with the family for Easter Sunday breakfast. The drinks were included and I changed the milk cafe at Petit Dejeuner to a cappuccino. After about 5 minutes my Petit Dejeuner arrived without drinks, i.e. croissant, butter, jam. Once all the drinks were served, the remaining breakfast orders could be taken. The water bottle we ordered came without glasses and was simply placed on the table. Bread for all breakfasts was initially forgotten, as was a spoon for the muesli. The market breakfast was very simple, i.e. sausage and cheese were discounter quality or below, the cheese tasted like nothing, the salami was cheap, the egg was rock hard and inedible. Butter was missing. I will never order the Petit Dejeuner croissant here again, it tasted bland and was quite dry 11€. We expected the rustic avocado sandwich with a rustic bread, it was two simple slices of mixed bread, €14. Conclusion: We would happily come back for a cappuccino (€4.90) in the sun on the terrace. Unfortunately not for breakfast anymore.

Get a table with a short waiting time, even without a reservation. Very friendly service and delicious food.

We were a group of four ladies and had lunch there. The lunch offer of 20 € was very good, with the meal there was a bottle of water, a main course (we had beef roulade and risotto), an espresso at the end and we had a small selection of mini cakes. Today you can rarely find a meal in a good atmosphere and central location for €20. The service was very friendly, the food came quickly, and the portions were sufficient! On sunny days, you have to be lucky, but the season has just started and if you have a spot, it's beautiful.

A “hip” location. Modern glass architecture. Service, or rather the staff, is quick. The food is delicious, drinks too. Price levels for Wiesbaden in 2024 will be “slightly higher” (0.5 l wheat beer 5.90 euros). "Last round" announcement made more than 1 hour before closing time, on a Saturday, must prompt future visitors to ask in advance about the "closing time of the day" in order not to be complimented out unexpectedly early.

I had the daily menu for €19.90. Main course, still water, coffee and dessert. It was tasty but unfortunately there were few vegetables. For dessert there was panacotta with strawberry coulis. Delicious! The service was nice.

The Lumen is a nice restaurant, but unfortunately the prices are a bit high. I have one wish for the kitchen: please make a better tarte flambée, which also deserves its hefty price of €15. The tarte flambée I had looked like it was frozen, which the waitress denied. I've never had such a dry, dusty tarte flambée and I definitely won't order it again unless the preparation changes completely. Sorry, but you are certainly open and grateful for suggestions for improvement. Otherwise it is very nice there and the service was also very nice.

Service and friendliness underground. Doesn't fit the high prices.

On weekends, when the weather is sunny, the restaurant is very busy and this of course causes stress for the waiters. Very good location, delicious cocktails, expensive food.

I can't think of anything positive for the Lumen. At the entrance the restaurant manager will first ask you whether you have made a reservation. No greeting, no friendly smile. The prices are simply outrageously overpriced. The service is good, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant manager looks around grimly as if he is annoyed 😒 and doesn't enjoy his job

We were at Lumen on Wednesday. There was spontaneously still a free space. The service was very friendly and on the ball. The food and drinks arrived absolutely on time and what we found super accommodating was that the dessert wasn't that great and we weren't charged for it. There was also someone playing the piano. A lovely evening at Lumen. We'll be back.

Breakfast for two. Bosphorus breakfast. 1 time cappuccino 1 time coffee. Indoor. The selection of the Bosphorus breakfast was a bit meager in our opinion. A large portion of scrambled eggs with olives, melted cheese, sucuk, cucumber, tomato, lettuce leaves, a dollop of herb quark, a piece of butter, flatbread and a piece of börek with spinach and sheep's cheese (börek was very tasty and served nice and hot!) We would have liked to have Example jam and honey, a few different rolls desired... And less scrambled eggs and less flatbread. Yes, I know it's a Turkish breakfast, but I've had this breakfast there before and we had more choice, we had a fruit plate, more vegetables, jam... An orange juice would have been nice too. Everything actually tasted good, but for the price I honestly expected more choice/variety. The service was okay, but not very hard, I felt. It's not meant to be mean. I'm just describing my observations. The cappuccino was very tasty 👍 The location is very nice and cozy. The music was very pleasant. Not too loud, you could have a good conversation.

Only the breakfast is okay, unfortunately that was it. A pity

This is a perfect location for couples or singles to meet for the first time. I had the 10 year reunion here and it was fantastic as always!

It's just a good part of Wiesbaden. We have been going there every evening for many years.

If you're sitting on the first floor, it can take a full 45 minutes before you see a waiter. Although the restaurant was well aware of our existence. Nobody wants to walk to the first floor... The taste of the pinsa we ordered was okay, but nothing more, and that for €20! Even with the best will in the world, you couldn't cut them with the blunt cutlery that came with them. Eating with your hand was difficult as it was topped with long slices of raw ham and arugula. You had to hold onto the coating when biting off, otherwise you would have pulled it off unintentionally. It really wasn't any fun...

Breakfast at Lumen.....🤔 First of all, the service was super nice and attentive. The breakfast was just average. 2 people with an American platter (sausages, ham, fried eggs, bad pancakes) coffee, hot chocolate, fresh orange juice, extra scrambled eggs and rolls with various spreads. Over 60 euros. VAT increase back and forth, the price/performance ratio wasn't right at all. And worst of all, the kitchen had no mustard. An absolute now go for a perfectly normal food. We went for Advent brunch, I had the vegan breakfast and my husband had the vegetarian one. Both breakfasts were very unusual, generous and well stocked. I didn't expect that. We have now reserved a table for Sunday and will see if it is as great during normal operation. Price performance absolutely ok 👌

Wir waren am Mittwoch das erste mal im Lumen. Service war wirklich top. Wir hatten nach nur wenigen Minuten unser Trinken und nach weiteren 15min unser Essen. Das essen ist in Ordnung, war lecker, aber nichts besonderes. Dafür ist das Ambiente wirklich toll. Wir hatten live Musik und super leckere Getränke.

Great place for a drink. Relaxed atmosphere. Bartenders are professional and knowledgeable. Wait staff are polite and helpful. Most speak English. Highly recommend.

Nettes Lokal, die Bedienungen verstecken sich sehr gut vor den Gästen. Die Preise für die warmen Gerichte sind absurd hoch, die Speisen schmeckt zwar ganz gut, jedoch sind 15€ für Currywurst mit Pommes ein Witz.

Seid vielen Jahren immer das leckere Wok-Gemüse gegessen. Allerdings heute wieder erst nach 2 Jahren. Leider enttäuschend, da der asiatische Touch fehlte und das Gemüse bestand hauptsächlich aus ziemlich festen Karotten (sind billiger als alles andere). Es war das letzte Mal!

Ich finde, es ist das angenehmste Bistro in Wiesbaden, nicht überlaufen, nette Keeper und Personal. Sonderwünsche werden sofort erfüllt - top Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen

Wunderbares Mittagessen, ohne Beanstandung. Alles sehr nett und freundlich. Kann man ohne weiteres hingehen.

Preise sind höher, Essen aber normal, nichts besonderes weder vom Geschmack noch von Portion her. Die Bedienung hat ewig gebraucht, obwohl es gerade mal 16 Uhr war.. Sie waren sehr nett und jung, aber das muss schneller gehen. Sie sollten auch Leute ansprechen, wenn sie verloren durch die Gegend schauen und sich fragen, ob man sich einfach hinsetzen kann oder fragen soll. Manchen war das egal, die anderen haben das irgendwie nicht zur Kenntnis genommen (liegt daran dass der Eingang um die Ecke ist). Außerdem waren viele Obstfliegen, mein Bowl könnte ich nicht in Ruhe essen. Schönes Ambiente, lockt dementsprechend auch solche Kunden an.

Hell und offen, sehr gut gelegen und zu Fuß und per Auto (Parkhaus Markt) sehr gut zu erreichen. Freundlicher Service, gute Qualität. Immer wieder gerne!

Das Lumen in Wiesbaden habe ich am Donnertag den 17.08.2023 zusammen mit meinem ehemaligen Kommilitonen und Kumpel Adrian Dedek erstmals besucht. Wir bestellten zwei Café Créma. Der Café Créma schmeckt im Lumen ausgezeichnet und vorzüglich. Der Service war sehr gut und der Situation unseres Café-Besuches – wir hatten nicht vorher reserviert – absolut angemessen. Ich bin nach einem ersten Besuch des Lumen sehr begeistert. Gerne wieder. Es grüßt ihr/euer/dein Erkan Boğan

Das Lumen ist ein beliebtes Cafe/Restaurant in Wiesbaden .

Alles prima, die Kuchentheke ist gut gefüllt und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Zu empfehlen: Der gedeckte Apfelkuchen!

Unterirdischer Service. Tisch voll mit leeren Gläsern. Karte kam nach 10 Minuten. Aber Gläser immer noch nicht mitgenommen. Dann nach dem Karte kam nach 1 minute gefragt, was wir trinken möchten... ähm... sorry...wir müssen erst schauen. Danach ignoriert worden. Nachgefragt bei Kollegin. Können wir bitte etwas bestellen. Ja Kollegin kommt gleich. Danach noch mal fünf Minuten gewartet und dann sind wir aufgestanden und gegangen. Wer 9,50 e fürn Spritz verlangt sollte auch aufmerksamen Service beschäftigen. Ich arbeite selbst in einem Hotel/Restaurant und weiss, wie es laufen müsste. DASS geht gar nicht.

Auf der Suche nach einem schönen Ambiente mitten in der Stadt? Gefunden hier im Lumen! Alles sehr schön, sauber und stielvoll eingerichtet. Daneben sehr leckeres essen und trinken. Personal fanden wir auch freundlich! Kann man nichts falsch machen!

Ich bin seit genau 20 Jahren Stammkunde im "Lumen". Ich bin rundherum sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen, Service und dem Ambiente! Am schönsten ist die Sonnenterrasse mit den schönen Pflanzen und abends die beleuchtete Bar. Ganz hervorragend ist auch das sehr umfangreiche Frühstücksangebot. Die Hintergrundmusik ist sehr chillig, das Personal sehr freundlich, die Toiletten sehr sauber. Alles in allem: Eine zehn von zehn. Mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Wiesbaden! Einfach nur toll!

Bei heißem Wetter sind wir hier auf ein kühles Bier eingekehrt > die Bestellung wurde schnell aufgenommen und die Lieferung erfolgte auf dem Fuße. Zumindest die Bierpreise sind schon im oberen Bereich <> Ambiente, Location sowie Service Kräfte rechtfertigen einen großen Teil.
