Goose and cooked to perfection For a family dinner today, we ordered a goose from Lumen ("Goose and cooked to perfection") - it was truly perfect: - Ordering via email; confirmation and explanation from the Lumen manager arrived very promptly. Great! - Special requests due to allergies were handled perfectly. Very pleasant!! - Lumen kept to the pick-up time down to the minute - everything was ready at the requested time. Wonderful!!! - The head chef personally brought the goose to the car. Beyond expectations!!!! - At home, we warmed up the goose and side dishes: perfect enjoyment. A dream!!!!! 5 out of 5 stars, more than deserved. Many thanks to the entire Lumen team

We had to wait a long time for the server to come, and after a total of 40 minutes we finally got our coffee, and the cake arrived a while later.

A very good restaurant in the heart of Wiesbaden. Clean and with reasonable prices. Parking garage nearby.

We reserved a gondola yesterday, as we had experienced it last year, and were very satisfied once again. The gondolas are very comfortable and furnished with great attention to detail; there's a heater in the footwell and blankets available if needed. Great team, very attentive service, and the food was fresh and simply delicious. We'll definitely be back.

I was there over Halloween and I've never seen anything so disorganized. The staff were completely overwhelmed and had no plan. You couldn't leave your jacket because there was no more room for them. They also didn't provide enough hangers, and lots of jackets were just lying around. And the worst part is, the bouncer hit a girl and spun her around. That's just unacceptable! I'm hoping for a response because I want my money back! That was definitely my last visit. This is completely unacceptable. Stay away from that place!

It's absolutely incomprehensible that Lumen has now taken over the wine stand without any sensitivity whatsoever towards the people of Wiesbaden, for whom this stand was an institution and a neighborhood meeting place. They've replaced the staff (who are incompetent and know nothing about wine), raised prices, replaced the glasses (for the worse), completely changed the menu, and now pours exactly to the fill line (where else in the Rheingau does that happen?). The result? We won't be coming back. How can anyone care so little about their target audience? Hospitality is nonexistent here.

I went for breakfast and ordered classic fried eggs. Superb! Perfectly cooked, organic eggs from a farm, served with delicious whole-grain bread and high-quality German butter! The blonde lady serving was incredibly friendly and attentive. The ambiance is, of course, fantastic thanks to its location on the market square! Thank you, Lumen!

This review only concerns the "new" wine stand, which is now directly operated by Lumen. Where it used to be a quick, Saturday delight with sufficient and very good staff, you now find yourself in a queue of 15 minutes or more, with people joining in just to return their glasses. A single young man, who was nice and tried his best, served the waiting guests very, very slowly. No one else came to help, even though fresh glasses were brought to the young man in between, and the long line was clearly visible. And then you pay 8 euros for 0.2 liters of wine!? You didn't hear the bang, did you, dear Lumen!! For queuing yourself, without service. No nice glasses and an endless wait. The wine list is unlaminated, crumpled on the counter... Unfortunately, this great spot has become a no-go zone for me and my friends, who used to meet here regularly every week. A real shame. ``` I hope the reviews are read and you think about it and change something here.

As a Wiesbaden-based company, we like to go to LUMEN when we want to enjoy a good meal with participants after a meeting. In addition to the consistently fresh food, we appreciate the excellent service from the staff. The people have been there for many years, which is another plus for LUMEN. We're also satisfied with the value for money, and the location is simply beautiful, right next to the Marktkirche (Market Church), the Hessian State Parliament, etc. We've even rented the entire upper area when we held a project presentation for 50 guests – everything was perfect there, too.

The quick lunch is highly recommended. Reasonable value and friendly service!

We went there yesterday early evening for a drink, having noticed this beautifully situated restaurant while strolling through Wiesbaden. After we sat down outside, a young, blonde employee with a ponytail walked past us three times without acknowledging us. Only after we spoke to her were we given a menu without a word. We then waited 10 minutes to order, which we could have done several times had she paid us any attention. She had a long and apparently very amusing chat with a guest three tables away, and even after waving, she didn't come to our table. You wonder if perhaps you should have brought her something instead—I would have had lemon drops, tissues, or even granola bars.... We left the terrace thirsty and certainly won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, the wine stand is no longer under Faust's management, but now belongs to Lumen. Prices are drastically inflated, service is extremely slow, and unfortunately, the wines aren't great. Sure, it's always a matter of taste, but that's not just our opinion. €7.50 plus deposit for a wine spritzer that you have to get yourself is not appropriate.

Right in the heart of Wiesbaden you will find Lumen a wonderful restaurant and bar. We had a good meal at lunchtime two meals from the quick lunch menu which is a fixed price meal within a lunchtime slot and two meals from the regular menu. The service was very good and the food was super. The amenities were clean and there is plenty of seating both within and on the sunny terrace.

We had a business event at Lumen, with some challenges, some of our own making, and without the incredible flexibility of the venue, the event wouldn't have been possible. The managing director himself even came by and asked about our satisfaction – in my opinion, always a sign of good leadership, which was reflected in the staff. Marissa, in particular, who oversaw our event, was always present, always friendly and appreciative – not only to us, but also in her interactions with her team, and the epitome of calm. She even adjusted the menu the day before with us and her chef without much questioning, thus making our event, with her team, a complete success. Our guests were also very pleased with the buffet. Terrible service and unfriendly staff! Absolutely disrespectful, unfriendly, and rude. It's a shame that we have to experience something like this. I don't like giving negative reviews, but in this case, it has to be done. Requests like a salad without cucumbers are met with the response "that's so complicated" and "we don't actually accept special requests." I've never experienced anything like this before!

We happened upon Lumen by chance and found it inviting. It was very cozy to sit outside. The drinks were very chilled, and the avocado bread was well-filled and filling. It was a bit on the expensive side, but we were happy to pay, as everything was just right. Our service was very attentive.

Disaster. It took half an hour for me to get my drink. I rarely give negative reviews, but this has to be done now.

This unfortunately clearly shows that they have no real interest in taking customer concerns or criticism seriously, but are solely concerned with their public image – truly disappointing.

Terrible service. After we received an incorrect order and informed the waiter, the response was, "But you can be extra complicated." Incomprehensible! Ordering a dish and simply requesting the one without tomatoes isn't complicated in my opinion. Their customer service is appalling. Absolutely not recommended.

Mistakes can happen, but the reaction of the young employee (dark hair, gray Beatles shirt) was extremely unfriendly and very derogatory: She used comments like "that's the way it is," "stop peeing around like that," and "go now" in front of other guests, instead of simply offering a solution. Very disrespectful and derogatory behavior that really ruined our evening.

This is a great bar in the centre of weisbaden for a drink or food. Prices are not cheap but if is a rich part of Germany. Great patio and chilled out music to listen to.

Lumen is certainly not a bad restaurant, but it's certainly not a highlight for special occasions either. Rather good mid-range. The service is friendly, and the price is reasonable for the location. We go there less for the food and more for a drink if we're in town anyway. The tea contains fresh herbs, and it's very good.

My favorite place to be in Wiesbaden. Whether for a coffee or a meal. Unfortunately, the kitchen has been slowing down a lot for the past few weeks. It takes forever, the food is at most lukewarm and the quality is increasingly questionable. Especially from the lunch menu. Here it's really a matter of luck whether it's good or not. The service is always good and friendly, the restaurant is clean and the sanitary facilities are ok. I would like to see an improvement in the kitchen. I'm there almost every week and it's a real shame that it doesn't work that way anymore, especially given the high prices.

Nice place to spend an evening with well-heeled friends. Unfortunately, like almost everywhere in Wiesbaden, the prices are only designed for a very wealthy clientele. The latte I had costs €4.80 and is served in a simple coffee cup and not in a larger one as is usual with lattes. I can rate the fact that there are alternative alternatives for milk to choose from, as well as the service. The staff were very friendly. The other part of the terrace was closed due to damage to the floor. I can't write anything about the dishes on offer. In my opinion, the range exceeds the price-performance ratio.

Ordered 2 tarte flambées, which was really bitter given the high prices. 19€ for a tarte flambée with salmon. Finished dough, dough not baked through. And it arrived cold. The service and the drinks were ok.

Enviable location... After a long walk I decided to have a glass of wine in this place... last time I was on the opposite side of the square and I was very disappointed. The service was attentive and professional..and also friendly. They served me an excellent wine. Perfect temperature and pleasant location.. I saw some nice dishes passing by.. certainly on the next tour I will come to taste some of them

Breakfast Broadway, pancakes were burnt and dry, not fluffy.. the bacon wasn't crispy, very poor performance, fried egg was ok. Unfortunately, I don't give a rating for filling bowls with toast, jam and butter. Nice service, as long as there was no criticism from me about the food...

I was there a few years ago and tried the gluten-free pancakes and they were delicious and had a latte. Very nice staff and a great location right on the market square.

Everything is great, but the toilets are in unacceptable condition.

The first restaurant visit in the New Year and good fries but a not so good burger. The meat is a bit warm, too much fat eyes and tendons, more reminiscent of a bratwurst for 23.00.

Be careful mice!!! The waitress was really nice and funny, but we quickly paid and left when we discovered the mice. Once is not once. But previous recessions also report mice, even with video. You have to take action.

Great resto in a prominent spot.

The Lumen is a very pleasant place to stay. Centrally located in the heart of Wiesbaden, it offers plenty of space for many visitors. And yet it is still possible to have conversations without any problems. The selection on the menu ranges from breakfast to lunch, from cocktails to coffee drinks and is therefore more extensive than manageable. However, considering that there should be something for everyone, this is perfectly fine. The service is friendly and provides guests with their orders quickly. We didn't miss anything. The breakfast for which we visited the Lumen is very tasty and sufficient. Unfortunately, the pancakes in the American breakfast didn't quite meet our taste because the maple syrup was used directly in the dough. Here I would prefer it if it were served separately (as well as in the large individual portion). One "problem" that needs to be addressed urgently is the toilets. The smell of the small corridor there alone is reminiscent of a train station toilet - that shouldn't be the case in an atmosphere like the Lumen. Unfortunately, the cleanliness in this case also leaves something to be desired. For my next visit and that of many other guests, I hope that this will be taken to heart and these circumstances will be improved. The Lumen definitely has potential and deserves four stars with “room for improvement” 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Had dinner with 8 people. The service was super nice and attentive! Unfortunately, everyone was disappointed with the menu and the food. The burgers were all cold and the rest wasn't really recommended either. The drinks were very good. The prices are completely exaggerated. The ambience is really nice. The toilet is underground. I've never experienced anything so dirty in a restaurant. Too bad...

It's been a long time since we've been to the Christmas market and Lumen always has a great presentation. Delicious sausage from the swivel grill and Raclette cheese from the wheel. But when will a beef sausage with a roll cost 6 EUR??? This is the most expensive sausage in the area, sorry but no matter how much we enjoyed being here, it's too expensive for us. If it is an organic sausage, at least it will not be advertised that way. By the way, fries cost 5 EUR, which is also pretty steep.

Wish I had taken a photo. I had the Wiener Schnitzel which was great. I had fries with it and they were in a small bowl on the plate and multiple smaller bowls with mayo, ketchup and others. All just crammed together. If I were at an Imbiss I’d eaten them with my fingers but not here for dinner. Food is fine. Service was very good. Presentation was ok.

This was the best dining experience I've had after traveling to Frankfurt, Cologne, Enschede, and Amsterdam for 3 weeks. The food was beautifully presented and you can taste the quality. Claudia was an attentive and accommodating server. She suggested a local Riesling that was amazing. I was disappointed they ran out of fish when I got there so she suggested the fried tofu, which is something I normally don't order as a meat eater. It was SO GOOD! And the whole 3-course meal was only 19 Euro (available until 2:30 PM). I was so happy with my experience I came back again today for lunch. Claudia remembered me from yesterday and knew that I wanted the fish. She also remembered that I preferred my espresso as decaf. She recommended a different local wine, a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, that was a perfect pairing with my fish. This is a must-try restaurant for their high quality beautiful food, outstanding service, and great view. Thank you for your warm hospitality and kindness, Claudia. The Lumen Restaurant offers a modern and stylish atmosphere, ideal for an elegant dinner. The menu is varied and offers a mix of creative international dishes that impress in terms of taste. The artfully prepared dishes and the quality of the ingredients are particularly commendable. The service is attentive and professional, making the entire experience pleasant. The prices are on the higher side, but definitely justified for the quality offered. A small disadvantage could be that it can get a bit noisy at times, especially when the restaurant is busy. The portions could also be a bit more generous for the price. Overall, Lumen is an excellent choice for an upscale dinner out in a stylish setting.

When I arrived I wasn't served for 15 minutes and it still took a while for my coffee to be served. After that, no one came to take my food order. After 40 minutes, I just decided to leave, even though the restaurant only had a few customers, and other customers who came after me were served immediately. The ambience is nice, but such poor service, and zero attention! The prices are also quite high: a normal Café Crema cost 4.10 euros. For such a price, better customer service is expected.

Yesterday evening my girlfriend and I visited this restaurant because we liked the cozy location and the full house suggested good food. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed. The menu prices are extremely overpriced - suggesting the price level of a luxury restaurant. We ordered a snack platter for two people and were horrified: almost none of it was edible. It seemed like the food was expired, a lot of it tasted like dish soap, and overall we felt like the quality was poor. The mini burgers, which were still frozen, and the falafel, which also tasted like dish soap, were particularly bad. There was also a green sauce that tasted so “broken” as if it had expired. It was one of the worst meals we've ever had - we were really disappointed to have spent so much money on something like that. Another big problem was the three mice that were running around during our visit. This definitely spoiled our appetite. Conclusion: This may be a nice place for drinks, but this restaurant is absolutely not recommended for food. Once and never again!

Little to no service, you aren't asked if you want something more to drink, lots of employees who don't feel like it, despite there being fewer guests... dirty toilet, I don't have to go there again!

The atmosphere in the middle of the city is very pleasant, there are tables both inside and outside. We were there with a larger group after work. Service was nice and courteous, drinks always came fairly quickly. Prices are a bit higher (burger or sandwich for €23, schnitzel for €33, 0.5L beer for €5.90), but the food was okay. Sandwich a bit dry and thinly topped, meat in the burger not 100% cooked through, schnitzel very good and the fries seemed fresh

The food and atmosphere were nice, but due to the location the food was very expensive. It's nice, if you can spend the buck, but I believe it's totally unnecessary. I found the food selection (vegetarian) not too interesting.

Today we went to the restaurant and ordered water and food. Unfortunately the water was very warm and the food wasn't fresh. To make matters worse, we saw more than two mice in the restaurant, which was very unhygienic and worrying. On the positive side, the drink I ordered was good, and the waiter was very nice and personable. This experience was very disappointing and unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

EM Public Viewing is falsely or misleadingly advertised on the Internet: €10 entry and €5 consumption voucher. We wanted to take advantage of this offer at yesterday's Germany game (June 19th), but we were only told at the concession stand that this was not valid at Germany games. It's an absolute shame not to write this out (at least in small print)... some guests we spoke to found this lure just as bold. For some people, including us, this was the first and last time in the Lumen!

At the European Championship games you advertise the entrance fee of 10 euros, which includes a consumption voucher of 5 euros. BUT!! For German games you pay €10 without a consumption voucher of €5. You only find out about this when you want to get your first drink. I have no understanding whatsoever!!

At some point I stopped going here because of the unfriendly boss.

I think it's outrageous that an entrance fee of EUR 10 is charged to watch a European Championship game on a large screen (which cannot be offset against food!).

Not bad, but more appearance than reality

Very good food, not really cheap but that's ok considering the quality. The food comes quickly but not too quickly, I have the impression that it is really freshly made. The service is sometimes a bit slow and sometimes spends a lot of time chatting - but that's ok, most of the service staff are trying hard. Example: We order three cocktails. My friends get both of theirs, I don't get mine. There were a few guests there, but definitely not a rush. After asking twice at the bar, the cocktail arrived, but unfortunately it took so long that a toast was only possible with the glasses only 1/3 full. It can happen, but I will avoid visiting the restaurant if more than a few tables are occupied.
