The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were perfectly adequate. Yes, the food was a bit pricey, but it was definitely worth it. We'll definitely come back again, preferably in the summer when we have the chance to sit outside and enjoy the view.

A very nice location with a large outdoor terrace and a view of Dresden and the Elbe River, including the Blue Wonder bridge and the Waldschlösschen Bridge. A good selection of cakes, pastries, and Saxon specialties were available to accompany coffee. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making for a pleasant overall experience.

We were only there to watch the sunset. The view was absolutely stunning. I can't comment on the food or service.

A visit with its ups and downs… I'll just focus on the restaurant experience; the view is surely well-known 😁 Our group ordered several different dishes, including the goose (see photo). The goose was very good in terms of side dishes and sauce (albeit a small amount), as well as its appearance. Unfortunately, some of the meat wasn't very tender/juicy and was rather tough. The price was reasonable, and the quality, as described, was acceptable but still solid. The other dishes were rather average and almost entirely out of step with the otherwise impressive menu and its corresponding prices. When even the small side salad is lackluster, you have to wonder if the kitchen doesn't taste the food before sending it out to the guests. The service was good and attentive, but the wait was very long. We only ordered the goose broth and some bread as appetizers, and yet the main courses didn't arrive until about 90 minutes after we arrived. We missed the last train and had to try walking 😁 The overall ambiance was very appealing, with pleasant lighting and, most importantly, a low noise level.

We were given a table in the entrance area – we had previously reserved a table for St. Martin's Day goose. It was like being at a Mitropa restaurant. We won't be going back. The staff was overwhelmed. The ambiance was modern but cold.

All in all, a wonderful lunch! The staff is very friendly. Card payment, including a gratuity surcharge, is possible and convenient.

We were so looking forward to visiting this restaurant. Arriving at 2 pm, we found it only about 10% full. When we asked if we could find a table for two, we received an unfriendly "NO." We should have left immediately, because the food we received was a huge disappointment. The pumpkin tarte flambée had very little cream, the onions were raw, and the apples were cold and sliced ​​far too thickly... a 4 out of 5. The autumn burger with a venison patty was completely dry and tough. When we asked if this was normal, the server simply replied, "That's how it is." We also ordered truffle mayonnaise, but it arrived without any truffles. The service was simply indifferent; they apparently don't care about the food at this altitude. Overall, very disappointing and not recommended.

Very cozy, the view was breathtaking, the staff was very friendly, and everything tasted delicious. Today, you had to be quite patient at times, but it wasn't a problem.

I stopped in unexpectedly because of the railway and was not disappointed. The interior is a bit "cool," but that's a matter of taste.

We came here for dinner. We had a reservation and arrived 30 minutes early, which wasn't a problem. The selection is appealing, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. The food was delicious, and the service was perfect. The little robot that takes the used plates, etc., to the kitchen is funny :-) Even though we weren't sitting by the window, we were still able to enjoy the view of Dresden at night.

Lunch with 18 people.... Reserved for 12:00 - Drinks weren't served until 30 minutes after ordering (forgot?) and there were only two options for ordering a drink - Between The appetizer and main course took 90 minutes (too many guests during lunchtime - the kitchen couldn't handle the many food requests in a timely manner; one had the impression that the waitress deliberately delayed the food orders so the kitchen could handle the large number of orders). - The waitress in charge rolled her eyes when asked about the children's menu. - Trainees or temporary workers were served without any coaching. Drinks were handed to you because you were standing nearby, instead of placing the drink at the seat where the person ordering was sitting. - Everything seemed unprofessional, and some waiters gave the impression that guests weren't welcome; they seemed rushed and overwhelmed. - Some appetizers were forgotten and brought later. - Some of the food was already cold, and the schnitzel was hard. - The waitress's elaborately manicured fingernails looked more like the claws of a bird of prey, and one was afraid that one would be injured by the fingernails while serving the food and drinks - extremely inappropriate. Conclusion: Saturday lunchtime is The staff at the Louisenhof are overwhelmed with larger parties and full dining rooms – with fewer guests, the quality would be guaranteed the entire time! I was able to enjoy the restaurant in a different way in May 2025: good service, good food, professional staff – ergo, they actually know what they're doing.

I'm very disappointed with this restaurant. While you eat, you just listen to radio music and, accordingly, advertisements from Aldi, Lidl, Netto, etc. It's like being at a snack bar.

We reserved a table today for a family member's milestone birthday. For lunch and coffee starting at 12:00 PM, mind you. The food arrived shortly before 3:00 PM!!! The burger patty was rock-hard and cold. So was my father-in-law's schnitzel. The children's meal, while hot, was completely tasteless. The waitress rolled her eyes when we asked for a children's menu, and we only had two opportunities to order drinks between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. At least the cup of coffee at the end came relatively quickly. We were all more than disappointed, especially since this inn's reputation actually precedes it. It was a complete waste, especially for the price. Very, very disappointing. The view was fantastic. But that was it.

I'd been wanting to visit the Luisenhof for a very long time, and I was more than impressed by the restaurant's ambiance and the incredibly impressive view from the terrace. The food was also very good. My only criticism was the service; we had to ask twice whether they had forgotten our drinks at the beginning...

I can only describe the view of Dresden from the terrace, and it's simply magnificent. I didn't visit the dining facilities.

Finally, it worked out, and three of us had lunch at the Luisenhof today! We're absolutely thrilled!!! But first things first. Booking a table over the phone, at very short notice, was no problem. Despite the restaurant being completely full, we received a very warm and friendly welcome. All the service staff were very friendly and accommodating! As already mentioned, even though the restaurant was full, we were served without long waits. The food was fantastic, with three different dishes. So, thank you again, and we wish the Luisenhof team all the best, and please keep up the good work!

A very nice restaurant that I highly recommend. It offers a wonderful view of Dresden. It's popularly known as the "Balcony of Dresden." Due to the parking situation, I would recommend using public transportation. A ride on the funicular, for example, is a wonderful experience.

I was completely satisfied at the Luisenhof Dresden. Very comfortable, great location, and everyone was really friendly. Breakfast was delicious and everything was perfect. I would definitely come back.

Main courses are sized to accommodate an appetizer and dessert. A 0.5 liter of Büble beer now costs 6.50 euros.

Special praise for that! I was also lucky enough to be able to sit on the terrace in nice weather and enjoy the beautiful view of Dresden! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Dear Luisenhof team, We had a lovely afternoon/evening at your hotel today. Thank you for your commitment to providing excellent hospitality. Since your hotel was fully booked throughout today, this also meant a great deal of effort for your staff. Perhaps you would appreciate some suggestions to further improve your hospitality: When having coffee, we would have preferred it to be served BEFORE the cake. Since our table was at the side balcony exit, the door was used frequently. Unfortunately, there's nothing from the outside to close it. So, I kept pushing the door shut, as I was sitting right next to it. I was basically on door duty, even though the guests were already trying hard to close the door. This caused cigarette smoke to drift into the restaurant, which was difficult for me as a non-smoker. The food, the attentive service, and the lovely children's play area are all praiseworthy. Of course, you also have to enjoy the view! Thank you for everything!

The Luisenhof in Dresden is truly a very special destination! The view over Dresden is simply breathtaking. I would particularly like to emphasize its incredible child-friendliness: There are great activities for children, including a playground, an indoor play area, a dedicated children's restroom, and a nursing and changing area – truly well-thought-out and lovingly designed. Families immediately feel welcome here. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The only downside: Unfortunately, the restaurant is currently not wheelchair accessible, as the main entrance is only accessible via stairs. There is definitely room for improvement here so that everyone can enjoy the visit. All in all, a wonderful place for families, connoisseurs, and anyone who wants to experience an unforgettable view of Dresden. Highly recommended!

The Luisenhof offers a great view of the city. The menu is limited but sufficient. The kitchen should consider using gluten-free sauce thickeners, as the menu is very limited for those with celiac disease, although this shouldn't be the case. The service is attentive and courteous. However, not everyone will find it appealing when food is served with 5-centimeter-long fingernails. Overall, recommended.

Great view and very tasty food. The service was also very good and attentive, although the place was quite full. They have a small kids area inside which was great for my 1,5yo son. Outside going down the stairs they have a small playground, but not so inviting and meant for older children. We ate very well and enjoyed the view.

If you want to enjoy a beautiful view of Dresden and wonderful food, you simply have to dine at the Luisenhof. The ambiance is fantastic, the staff competent and very friendly. It's definitely worth a visit. Since the quality of the food is truly first-class, you'll naturally pay a few euros more. But that makes the panoramic view of Dresden irrelevant. Unfortunately, one star deducted because the parking situation is an absolute disaster. Those who arrive here by public transport have a better chance.

The view of Dresden from Luisenhof is, of course, fantastic, and the food was also very good and plentiful. Unfortunately, we noticed a few things that weren't so good. The young waitress wasn't exactly overly friendly; he didn't even say "Hello," but simply "here are the menus." There were no cushions for the chairs. Our table was a bit dirty. The menu was stained and worn. The trash can and cigarette butt by the door were overflowing. The interior and restrooms, however, were nice and clean. Restaurant owners tend to notice a few things more easily 🤷🏻‍♀️

We accidentally booked a table for December 25, 2026, instead of January 25, 2025. There were seven of us and we still got a table. The food came quickly and was absolutely delicious!

Food was very good, by the way it was sauerbraten!!!The green meadow from the Ossi menu was more like a green lemonade. So not good for 7.90 and not like in Eastern times.!!! We actually wanted to have a nice coffee because the cake or tart looked absolutely delicious, but the company behind us was so loud that we had to run away!!!

The restaurant is cozy, the food is quite tasty, and the wait time is about 15–30 minutes. There's a small children's corner, but be prepared for it to be quite noisy, as there's also a breakfast buffet and therefore a lot of people there. Beautiful panoramic views of the city and a large terrace. The staff is friendly.

I used to enjoy visiting the Luisenhof in my youth, but haven't been back since moving to Aachen. Today I had lunch with my mom for her 88th birthday. For me, it was perfect value for money, with a varied and interesting menu and drinks, and friendly and attentive service. We'd love to come back!

Only partly. Perhaps we picked the wrong day. Despite having made a reservation, they searched for our reservation in vain. Our 56th wedding anniversary was supposed to be something special – the ordered roses only arrived after two requests, as did the drinks. The recommended pork steak with chanterelles turned out to be a sirloin steak, either not marinated or only briefly marinated, tough and bloody. The apology in the form of two glasses of sparkling wine was scant consolation.

We had a wonderful lunch on the terrace with a fantastic view. It was busy and the service was a bit slow. The beef cheeks and liver were highly recommended, but the goulash and sauerbraten had a bit too much juniper flavor for our taste. The cucumber salad was fantastic. Parking is rather difficult, so if possible, I would recommend taking the cable car up to the top.

Great view. Unfortunately, the food disappointed me. It wasn't bad, but nothing special either. The spinach dumplings were quite good, but the side salad was really sad, and the decor seemed lackluster. The ice cream with pumpkin oil was very tasty, but it didn't really make it. The portions and preparation of the other dishes were also just okay. We had a reservation and it took us a while to choose our food, but the waitresses didn't rush us, to put it kindly.
