Wonderful ! The food is delicious. Great value for money. Reservation is better because it's pretty busy. We will come back there again.

We had dinner at the Alte Schmiede twice within a few days. The dishes are all very tasty, the portions are very generous for the price and the staff is extremely attentive and super friendly! Even with a dog, visiting the inn was absolutely uncomplicated! The furnishings and ambience are very detailed and fit perfectly into the venerable house. We would like to thank you very much and look forward to visiting you again!

We sat outside and I found it nice and cozy. I would come back too. Only the selection of warm vegetarian dishes wasn't large. The usual in good home cooking. But everything was very nicely prepared.

We were there for the first time today. A nice little restaurant, very cozy. The service was very nice and the food was very good. Luckily we had reserved in advance and it was well attended on a Monday evening. We liked it very much.

Very high quality delicious food! Good portions. A diverse and great selection of drinks! The food was served quickly👍🏻 All service staff are very polite and accurate. The young blonde lady is particularly committed, and you can tell that very positively on the phone. And if guests show up at short notice without an appointment, she looks for a way to accommodate them. Really great 😄🙌🏻 The atmosphere in the "Alte Schmiede" is very cozy and tidy, rustically furnished and with cozy warm light a real old-school vibe. We come from Munich and were passing through and we would love to come back! 😊

Great quaint restaurant, beautifully and charmingly decorated. Food and drink selection varied and extensive. My main course was chicken liver with mashed potatoes and a small salad. Very tasty, nicely prepared, piping hot and in a decent portion size. For dessert we had the locally famous curds with applesauce. Also very tasty, but not to be underestimated in bulk. Overall, a successful evening, great hosts with really good local cuisine. NO EC CARD PAYMENT POSSIBLE!

On my first visit I only knew the beer garden and I found it enchanting... Today we had a table inside. You come in and you immediately feel at home, everything is really nice and clocky. Anyone who loves German cuisine will definitely not be disappointed here. A very large offer and what can I say except: It was perfect 👌🏻 delicious, service super friendly I can only recommend it

It's just a good thing we had pre-ordered. A very rustic restaurant, as the name suggests. Despite the house being full, the service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long. The food was delicious and plentiful. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

It's an old forge but anything but old-fashioned 😉! The restaurant is filled with so much life, beautiful plants and visits, friendliness, good food and fantastic service. So that we felt completely comfortable.

It was our first time in the Alte Schmiede. On the recommendation of a friend. I have to say that we were very enthusiastic, great atmosphere, friendly service and the food was also very good. I will definitely come again.

I was there with my regulars and everyone really liked the atmosphere and the open nature of the staff. The portions were a little smaller than expected, which I personally prefer that way than having something left over. Everyone enjoyed it, regardless of whether they ordered roast, salad or poultry. The chef was also out and about in the dining room from time to time and was interested in whether everyone was happy, which I have rarely experienced in a restaurant.

I've eaten there a few times and have always been very satisfied, but I was very disappointed after my last visit. I wanted to pay part of the bill with a voucher from the restaurant and was then informed that I should have communicated this before creating the invoice and that the voucher can no longer be accepted. I was very angry about this because I: 1. When making the reservation by phone I asked again whether I could easily pay with the voucher (I was told yes). 2. There is no reference to such a regulation on the voucher. In my opinion, people are deliberately playing dumb here so that people have to come back again. The restaurant doesn't really need that, I would have liked to come back even if I wasn't forced to, but I will avoid it in the future. You could certainly have canceled the bill or added the value of the voucher to another guest's bill. Please comment as to why this information is not noted on the voucher.

So the service was very nice, the food was very tasty, but for the price of almost 20 euros, a little more side dish would be great... we'll be happy to come back, maybe there'll be a little more on the plate... Taste keeps it up. ....

Very nice beer garden, with shaded areas, adjacent parking spaces, a small sandpit. The interior is quaint. The service is very friendly and in a good mood. I found the food to be too much "ready-made food" - but it was completely ok for a beer garden.

The menu is in German, we explained through a translator that we wanted to try German cuisine and they chose a separate dish for each of us: my son, my husband and me. The food is fresh, everything is freshly prepared, the dishes are beautifully presented. Very tasty non-alcoholic beer The waiters and even the cook came up and asked if you liked everything. There were three of us, we ordered 3 non-alcoholic beers, 1 cola and 3 meat dishes, paid 80 euros. The prices were much cheaper than in the center of Dresden. Highly recommend.

Prices are very high, sometimes increasing by up to 50% within a few years. Kiba more expensive than beer. Not everything is homemade either. No card payment is absurd in today's times and with the prices.

Spontaneous visit, which was a great decision. It's very cozy and pleasant outside in the beer garden. Rich selection, the service is very nice and everything was served very quickly. The garlic spaghetti I chose tasted excellent. By the way, the view of the Briesnitz church is another plus.

We spontaneously drove past this cozy location on June 10, 2024. Stopped, 2 seats were free and immediately we were brought 2 seat cushions and asked for drinks. The food was good, home-style and super tasty. The waitresses changed and everyone had a funny saying on their lips. We really felt comfortable. See you soon😉

Such a lovely little beer garden! The food was excellent (we had fried onions and asparagus) and the service was very nice and quick without being intrusive! For dessert we had the lentils and they were incredibly big (would also be worthy of a sweet main course) and extremely tasty; Very fluffy!

You drive an extra 5km through the city because you rely on Google that the restaurant is open and find yourself in front of the closed door at 8:45 p.m. even though Google says open until 10 p.m.

Never again. The only thing that was nice was the surroundings - i.e. the beer garden, the food itself was a disaster, you can also heat up ready-made food at home. Whether it was the hollandaise, the breaded cauliflower, the potatoes (all white on the inside - also from a can) or even the farmer's breakfast - everything came from the bulk pack. Plus prices like in France. So if you want to have more than one beer on your hike here, you shouldn't stay here unless you like poor convenience "food".

Maundy Thursday, March 28, 2024 (with reservation): The restaurant was very busy, but there was hardly any waiting time for the food. Needless to say, the food was again amazing! We were even happy to accommodate special requests. Every guest is welcome here, you can tell. It was also great how beautifully everything was decorated for Easter. Again 10 out of 5 points😉
