Very authentic place with absolutely lovely service and delicious food! We are here for lunch occasionally and have been always happy with the quality and atmosphere. The river is directly in front so it’s perfect for an after lunch walk!

We come here to eat often because the selection and the friendly service are excellent. You feel completely at ease and the food tastes great.

A truly memorable experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel very welcome. The food was excellent. I would definitely return, and a tip... the pumpkin soup is sensational.

We had a table right next to the door (it was extremely cold). The "hot chocolate" was barely lukewarm. The pancakes were burnt (the powdered sugar was lumpy). The schnitzel was lukewarm, the Camembert was supposedly hand-breaded (almost completely breaded) and extremely dark. The schnitzel was very crispy, the cucumber salad was oversalted, and the children's schnitzel was so fried you could hardly see the meat. The frozen carrots were carelessly prepared. The staff was only interested in themselves and chatting amongst themselves. Definitely never again!

The sauerbraten we had the other day was okay, but not perfect. I always recommend ordering the schnitzel there. They're always great. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures. In the end, they gave us the packed-up food to take home as a handbag, which was funny ;)

Simply delicious. Super friendly people and great service. We came spontaneously without a reservation, but still got a spot in the sun, enjoyed a delicious beer, and had a fantastic spicy meat dish. We'd be happy to come back, next time for a schnitzel. What makes a good restaurant is being able to hear the chef pounding the schnitzel. And it was a real joy to hear that sound. So, we'll see you again soon.

Great location, right on the Elbe River. Advance reservations are a must on weekends. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The Hüttenschnitzel and the pancakes are highly recommended! 😊

I dare to say this is one of the best schnitzel restaurant in Germany. I never craved a schnitzel but after I found this beautiful restaurant… once a month I do think about this place. My favorite schnitzel is the garlic (knoblauch) schnitzel. Highly recommend visiting this place BUT do mind that it takes about 30-40min to get your food delivered.

You can immediately taste the high-quality, fresh products and genuine passion for good food used here. The other components of the dish – whether side dishes, sauces, or herbs – were also perfectly flavorful. The presentation was as loving as it was appetizing, and you can tell that they know their craft and appreciate the value of seasonal cuisine. The ambiance at Spitzwegerich is equally compelling: rustic yet elegant, cozy, and inviting. You immediately feel at home – whether on the beautiful terrace or in the stylish interior. A charming pub with a beer garden and a solid menu. If you can't find anything here, it's your own fault. I've personally had the ribs a few times, and they're absolutely delicious.

A quaint restaurant where meat eaters will definitely get their money's worth. However, if you're looking for a meatless dish for whatever reason, you'll probably be disappointed. Perhaps they could come up with something better here, even if it's just a burger. The vegetable stir-fry is very minimalist (Kaisergemüse + potatoes), and the noodles were unfortunately very soft, probably because they don't serve them very well due to the small number of people who eat them. Service was good, though. The benches outside were a bit uncomfortable 😌

Friends suggested this restaurant to us for dinner. We hadn't heard of it before, so we made a reservation and got a nice table outside. First of all, I should say: We're vegetarians, which isn't exactly catered for here. The menu even describes this category as "When the farmer has to fast" – and that reflects the approach taken here. I ordered the vegetable stir-fry, my boyfriend the pasta: both were a complete disappointment, honestly. My vegetable stir-fry was just plain frozen Kaisergemüse from a bag: carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower – tossed in butter, with a few potatoes, and that was it. It was incredibly dry and far too expensive for "open a bag and into the pan." Plus, there was an extreme amount of vegetables. It was simply missing a sauce, something to make it "tasty." My boyfriend's food was super soggy, and he wasn't satisfied either. On the other hand, you have to say: they know their meat. Our friends' food looked good and they enjoyed it. The side dishes here were all frozen or from a packet, though. Nevertheless, the menu advertises "Everything is freshly prepared here." It's a quaint pub: the service is gruff, with humor and wit, very fast and attentive. Inside, everything is a bit overstuffed, but it has character. Still, we won't be coming back alone, sorry.

It was, as always, a very pleasant evening. Yesterday we had asparagus soup and dessert. Despite the "small" order, we were served with kindness and care. Thank you very much, dear friends.

Went there for dinner on a Friday with 6 people. Unfortunately something went wrong with the order. The friendly waitress explained it to us and offered a compensation. That is no longer a given these days. Everyone was happy and it was a lovely evening. Thanks In short, gladly again.

Made a stopover for a late lunch, and I was surprised how friendly this place is. Authentic local feel, and clearly familiar people stroll in and out. Staff (or the owner) very friendly and helpful. And man, my steak - absolutely delicious! Love it. Perfect cook inside, and a wonderful light cream cheese sauce, and the lightest of boiled potato’s. Must try!

Got the lean pork schnitzel covered with pesto, ham and cheese. Good taste and good portion. There are 2-3 free car parks in front of the restaurant. The server speaks English, attentive and friendly. The decor and ambience were good too.

We ate here every day of our 3-day stay because it was simply delicious and cozy. Our children also really wanted to go back every evening. Great children's menu at fair prices and the adults were also completely satisfied.

We like to go here, but unfortunately the staff is overwhelmed with the catering on a planned sunny weekend. The restaurant couldn't be reached by phone either, so we would have saved ourselves the trip. Unfortunately not very hospitable, we would have been satisfied with little things but that turned into a visit to the Watzke.

Today we went to Spitzwegerich for the 2nd time to eat schnitzel. 😋 The service was nice and helpful and the kitchen was great. There is nothing to complain about. We'd love to come back. We had schnitzel on cream champions, schnitzel with garlic & cucumber salad and schnitzel Hawaii.

I had reserved a place for 2 people over the phone. We were warmly greeted upon entering and shown to our seat. The restaurant was busy around 7 p.m., but the noise level was relaxed and you could have a good conversation. Ambiance: The restaurant is comfortably furnished... I would describe the decor as rustic-bourgeois. Everything with attention to detail. Staff: The service was friendly and on the ball... so the glasses were never empty. Still, it was relaxed enough that you didn't feel pressured to order more. Eat: We had 3 courses. As a starter, the garlic bread with the dips was very tasty and enough for 2 people. For the main course we had roast beef with fries and chicken breast - tomato mozzarella. Everything was great here too. The roast beef was cooked perfectly pink and very juicy. The chicken breast was also well fried and not too dry. For dessert we had apple strudel which also tasted very good. To put it briefly... 😅 the food as well as the ambience and staff were simply great. We'd love to come back.

We were there on December 26th. for lunch here. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service was quick and friendly. What doesn't work is if you order a bottle of wine and have it placed on the table. The worst thing was the endless number of cobwebs in every corner and the amount of dust around the decorations.
