Great service, great value for money!

Excellent daily menu at fair prices. Lovely outdoor terrace in summer.

Everything was really great! The waiter upstairs in the gallery was fantastic, and the food was delicious!

As is often mentioned in reviews, the service wasn't good for us either. We were prepared for this, so it didn't spoil our breakfast. But it was quite surprising: we wanted to pay, and no one was there. We asked downstairs and were directed back upstairs. When someone finally came and we asked for the bill, they calmly cleared the table until they disappeared completely, so in the end, we had to pay downstairs after all. What surprises me most is that you see this kind of review so often, and I wonder if management simply doesn't care. You can see in other restaurants in Tübingen that there are good staff. So perhaps the staff selection or the pay isn't right.

A very nice place; we had breakfast there. They also have vegetarian options. I had the bread with fig and burrata, which was excellent. The chai latte was also fantastic, with great foam, but a bit pricey… The service was also very nice and friendly!

Breakfast is available here from early morning. The atmosphere is also very nice and the food is delicious.

I had an Aperol Sour for about €9.50. The serving size was abysmally small. The egg white foam on top was very well done. The taste was very sweet and had a strong sugar content. All in all, a rather poor drink. It came with a selection of nuts. The service was excellent, very friendly, and accommodating.

Perfect for an afternoon snack in a pleasant atmosphere. We had a really nice server upstairs who took perfect care of our well-being, and we had a lovely afternoon. The food and sodas were delicious. At one point, there was even some music playing on the record player. It was the perfect ending to a girls' day out.

Visiting Tübingen, we ate at Ludwigs four or five times. The food was well prepared and delicious. We do now speak German and the staff were so friendly and helpful. A great place to enjoy a very good meal served by terrific servers.

What a gorgeous ambiance! As a big fan of fries, I only ordered fries, and they were delicious. Unfortunately, the look of the fries didn't convince me. You eat with your eyes.

We were there for breakfast with our toddler. Ludwig's never disappoints! Everything was excellent and very kid-friendly. The waffles came with a banana as requested, and they provided a high chair and even children's cutlery. The French toast is absolutely amazing.

Ludwigs is a long-established restaurant bar in Tübingen, where the chef always serves creatively inspired dishes. Their French toast is a must-order and simply outstanding. Whether it’s for a business lunch, coffee time, or dinner, there’s never a dull moment. The service is attentive, and making a reservation is smooth and easy. In addition to the terrace facing the street, there’s also a courtyard area, allowing you to choose the setting that best suits the occasion. Highly recommended.

We visited Ludwigs around lunchtime as a couple. The menu is very interesting, offering unusual dishes that promise a culinary adventure. We received very friendly and prompt service. I ordered pasta with chanterelles and was curious about the peaches that were served with it. The food arrived beautifully presented and relatively quickly. Ripe peaches lay slightly warmed on top of the pasta and chanterelles. The pasta with chanterelles tasted very bland, and a culinary adventure was far from certain. We found the ambiance pleasant and modern. Unfortunately, the email we received in response to our electronic reservation was somewhat rude: we were asked to cancel our reservation if we were unable to keep it. The reminder that we had been sitting in the restaurant for an hour and a half remained unanswered. We would have expected a "sorry" here. Considering the restaurant's rather high price range, three stars is too much for the overall experience.

This is underhanded, greedy, capitalist opportunism. This kind of opportunistic greed, charging money for every ingredient, causes the customer to reconsider their order and undermines the experience. If I simply ordered a meal that cost 30 cents more or 10 cents more, I wouldn't notice the cost of supporting the small ingredients that make up a positive restaurant experience. This kind of commercial greed sets in motion a vicious cycle. The unfortunate result is that waiters receive no or very small tips. If waiters don't receive tips, even from Americans (who like butter), waiters will provide poorer service (which is already poor in Germany). The end result is that the quality of the restaurant experience declines, and we often opt for an alternative. Or we bring our own butter. The suggestion again: Charge a sufficient fee so you don't have to alienate your customers with tiny, unnecessary charges. Really nice place, great menu. There were 10 of us there for breakfast. Everyone loved it! The only downside: the scrambled eggs arrived... but the pretzel we ordered with them took so long to arrive that the egg was almost cold by the time it was served. They also forgot to bring a spread – and when the misunderstanding was cleared up, there was unfortunately no apology.

Yesterday we visited the new terrace and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. We often come here for breakfast or lunch, and it's always great. The new terrace is truly exceptional, and it was very nice, even though it was busy. The food, as always, was delicious and plentiful, and the service was excellent. It's a shame we can only give it five stars.

We drank two glasses of red wine. Unfortunately, the wine was much too cold, and when we asked, we were told that was how it had to be. I don't want to claim to be an expert, but if the wine is so cold that it can't develop its flavor, then something is wrong. For €8.50 a glass, I expect the very best, not a red that's way too cold. Besides, it's outrageous to charge €8.50 for 0.2 liters.

If you're looking for a leisurely and delicious breakfast, Ludwigs is the place to go. The food is delicious (a set menu for two) and the price is good for the quality (€28). However, a hot drink costs extra. Reservations are highly recommended for a cozy spot on the terrace (lounge). Otherwise, there are a few spots available outside the restaurant and inside. One negative we found was the very long wait (about 20 minutes) before a server arrived. But after that, it moved quite quickly. Nevertheless, we highly recommend having breakfast here, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

I've never seen a place like this before. I'm happy to pay for high quality and regularly visit very expensive restaurants. When you see those prices on the menu, you expect top-quality offerings, which was more than disappointing for us. They only offer the cheapest goods, and at prices comparable to those in luxury hotels. When you get a damaged egg for breakfast and then have to listen to them tell you that it's still edible, I'm at a loss for words as a customer. Add to that the cheapest whipped cream instead of pastry-chef quality, cheap cocoa powder instead of hand-stirred chocolate, shabbily cut, portioned butter at the price of individual French wrappers... On top of that, the service was rude and impertinent. We were just glad to be out of there and were stunned by the experience.

100% recommendable. This was our second time here, despite a 40 km train journey. It's so beautifully decorated. The food was delicious and a feast for the eyes! There were four of us and we stayed much longer than planned. The service was very friendly and prompt, as well as very attentive. The table reservation worked well. We had a lovely outdoor spot. We'd love to come back.

As part of a hotel package, we had a 3-course surprise menu. This consisted of: Lukewarm asparagus salad with strawberries and lime caviar Roast veal loin with vegetables and spaetzle or A fish dish Dessert variation The offering met our expectations and was worthy of a surprise menu. Overall, the food was very good, but unfortunately, the veal loin was overcooked and therefore a bit dry, and the sauce was too salty. We also mentioned this to the waiter, and they tried to pass it on to the kitchen, but there was no response. We found that a bit of a shame. The ambiance was very nice; we were able to sit on a large terrace in the hotel courtyard and enjoy the beautiful summer evening. However, we also found it a shame that no effort had been made regarding the table decorations or the selection of our assigned seating, even though I had already stated in advance when making the reservation that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary with dinner that evening. Surely one or two little things would have been enough to please the guest.

The food was excellent. 10/10 Despite having a reservation, we (7 people, for whom the reservation was made) were moved three times...by three different waiters...which was personally embarrassing for me, as I was used to better food at Ludwigs and had deliberately chosen this restaurant to celebrate a 50th birthday. I hope it was an exception; I still felt very badly treated, and no one apologized to us. Very unprofessional behavior, if anything, they didn't even provide cutlery and chairs after the third move!!!!

I found the breakfast to be too small in terms of quantity. It also lacked flavor. The quality was okay. A vegan breakfast was completely unacceptable. The scrambled eggs were spongy and the dip tasted like fish. Better not to offer anything vegan!!! For a breakfast that costs €15 without drinks, it's definitely significantly worse than other cafes in Tübingen. We only go here for a coffee. We were very disappointed.

Sat on the 2nd floor inside. Beautiful and bright. Food was very good. Salads with protein for the ladies, Maltaschen and Schnitzel for the gentlemen. The two of us had breakfast at Ludwigs. The short-term online reservation worked well. We really enjoyed the coffee and the rich breakfast for two. The service was attentive and friendly. It was just a shame that we couldn't sit outside on the terrace due to the weather. Unfortunately, such a breakfast for two with coffee and tea and an extra egg costs almost €50. Despite the high hotel prices, it is cheaper to have breakfast in the hotel.

I had the pleasure of enjoying an excellent burger at this restaurant. The meat was perfectly fried – juicy, aromatic and of high quality. The fresh ingredients harmonized perfectly with each other, and the roll had just the right consistency: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Every bite was a delight! Overall it was a wonderful dining experience. I can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

These days a classic place in Tübingen. Perfect location. Tables on two levels in addition to outside tables. A bit pricey but usually worth it. The prime choice for outside dining a warm evening. Reservation recommended.

Chic atmosphere. Delicious food, beautifully presented. Everything we had was delicious, salad, cake, latte macchiato, tea. What was a bit unpleasant was that the music was too penetrating and too loud for me personally. Something more subtle would be more pleasant. I can't say anything about sitting outside, that was it Day too cold.

Whenever I'm nearby and have the opportunity to go to Ludwigs, I'm always very satisfied. I feel like a guest there who is welcomed with hospitality. Nice ambience, great service and the food is great too. There was once the “Ludwig’s Sandwich” – that was something very special. Maybe there will be a “new edition” :-).

The price-performance ratio wasn't quite right. The portions for Easter brunch were very small, but tasted very good!

On April 21st been there. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. Everything was great with the service too. The service was very friendly, kept asking if everything was OK and was generally very attentive. The overall package was right and I'm happy to give it all the stars.

It was a really awesome brunch experience. It was constantly being refilled, so you could eat your fill of delicious food. All you can drink Prosecco was on top! The dessert buffet left nothing to be desired. Ludwig’s was the ideal place for this. Many thanks to the entire team at Hotel Krone.

Service is a disaster! When you come into the restaurant you are not greeted. We sit for minutes... the waitress doesn't feel like it, looks us in the eye and grins. So we just got up and left. It's a shame one star is too many here.

We went to Ludwigs for breakfast for the second time today. It was great again. I always visit here, I come from Mannheim. Nowhere else can you have such an extravagant breakfast. To the owner's answer...of course, the people of Mannheim would be happy 😉🥰

Scrambled eggs were cold and the waiter then poked his finger into them and argued with us about whether they weren't still warm. It was probably still warm at the core. But for the price, a core temperature of 25 degrees isn't enough. Grumpy staff. The cold things were ok. Ambiance as well.

It's definitely a nice place to stay, but if it's full you'll have to wait a really long time for your things. The atmosphere is very bright and totally cozy. The food and drinks were all delicious, but there is a star rating because it is a bit expensive for the portion. The service was friendly but you hardly noticed it other than ordering and paying.
