Lucky Star in Berlin

Delicious food and good service. Hotpot doesn't have as much choice as other restaurants, but it's served quickly. It gets noisy when it's busy. Because of the hotpot, which is a popular order, the place is quite warm. The hotpot is all-you-can-eat and affordable.

I have been going to Lucky Star for almost 10 years now. It’s still the only place in Berlin that charges very little for all you can eat hotpot. All this time they have only changed the price once. The hotpot is delicious, everyone who works there is great, kind, polite, and honestly the best. As a foreigner in Berlin there aren’t many restaurants where you are treated well, but here I always have been. They can speak many languages so you’ll be well taken care of. I highly recommend it.

If locals eat there, it must be good… Authentic flavors, friendly staff, and a cozy, clean atmosphere. The food is rich, flavorful, and full of depth. Craving something warm and spicy, but made with love and care? Ideal for 3-4 people, that want to share dinner or just want a comforting meal, you won’t leave disappointed.

The hot pot is highly recommended; we haven't tried anything else yet. Very friendly and attentive service, a young clientele, fresh and delicious. Refills come when requested. It was enough for us. The appetizers, cucumber salad, and dim sum were also delicious! Extremely tasty, beautiful, and relaxed. I love it! It's also great that you can get a table at short notice, especially during the week. Highly recommended!

This is some of the best Chinese food I’ve had. I especially recommend the hot and sour soup (if you like something spicy). It’s really reasonably priced for the amount and quality of the food. The staff are also very friendly and attentive.

Lucky Star is a must-visit in Berlin! The dim sum are fresh and perfectly steamed, and the all-you-can-eat hot pot (€22.80 per person) is outstanding—tender meats, crisp veggies, and rich broths full of flavour. The staff are fantastic, the service is fabulous, and the value is unbeatable. Sadly we were only visiting, but if you’re staying central it’s absolutely worth it. We’ll be back next time we’re in Berlin.

We usually only go here for hot pot, but recently it was so warm that we decided to try something from the lunch menu. It came with a soup first. I had vegetable soup, my companion had hot and sour soup. Neither was particularly tasty. The vegetable soup was rather bland, and the hot and sour soup was so thick that I would have called it a sauce. The taste wasn't to our liking either, let alone the consistency. The main courses were okay. But I wouldn't order them again. We'll stick with the hot pot instead, which is really very good.

Been there for the second time. Even though the place is packed, the service remains calm. Everything is simply delicious, and the price is fair.

Don't be put off by the "hot pot all-you-can-eat" advertising and the touristy location at Friedrichstadtpalast: This restaurant offers truly excellent Cantonese cuisine! Even though most guests order hot pot, it's definitely worth choosing one of the delicious dishes from the menu. The restaurant made a welcoming, clean impression, and the service is extremely friendly and attentive.

One of the best shops in Berlin

1) The food is extremely delicious, varied, and plentiful. 2) The service is first-class. If you don't want something (especially with hot pot), the first question is whether there's an underlying allergy to avoid contamination. These sensitivities are also taken into account with sauces, etc. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. 3) The prices are definitely reasonable. It's not a regular spot for me, but as a treat every few months or to have a good time with loved ones – perfect.

The food was clean and delicious. The waiters were very friendly. The portions were already large, so I couldn't get a refill. I recommend the mushrooms and meatballs.

Absolutely not recommended. The soup that came as an appetizer had no flavor and was too slimy. The dishes weren't spicy enough, and the supposedly crispy meat wasn't crispy enough. While the service was quick, it seemed unfriendly. However, the prices were very good.

The staffs are very considerate and kind. We went for hotpot which is amazing and worth the price. The broth is soooo good as well. Definitely recommend it!

The staff deserves 10* and they were extremely attentive and helpful. Great hotpot that runs as a buffet that you can keep on ordering from the different options. So far the best hotpot in Berlin that is worth trying and returning. Credit card payments are possible and reservations are possible although not necessary

First hot pot experience was successful. Fair prices for the (at least) 2 person hot pot and very delicious broths to choose from. We picked curry and hot chilli, which were both very tasty. Good accommodating service made for a great experience here

I ordered fried noodles with duck. The duck was a bit dry and not that tasty overall. The price was also overpriced. I was told it would be 9.20 on the phone, but I paid 19.20.

Hello, our daughter really wanted to try hot pot, so we chose Lucky Star, and we were extremely satisfied. Good advice for beginners, a great list of ingredients, and it was delicious, too. We had a "regular" meal, which was also delicious. Friendly staff and excellent service.

Delicious, authentic Chinese food with very friendly staff who cater to all your needs. I go there regularly with my family and can especially recommend the cucumber salad and the recommended dishes on the menu.

10/10 - Can only recommend the restaurant! I've been here for hotpot over 10 times now and it's always been delicious. The waitresses are all super friendly and accommodating and there is always a pleasant atmosphere, regardless of whether you appear alone or with several people. You choose the broths you would like from various broths and get a constant supply of vegetables, meat and fish (all-you-can-eat). You can always specifically ask for something specific, more or less. I recommend the clear broth (like a salty vegetable/pork broth) and the curry broth (slightly spicy, Asian curry paste flavor). Unfortunately I can't say anything about the à la card dishes. But they always look delicious from afar.

Unfortunately, I became a bit sick during my visit to Berlin and was therefore looking for a real soup. Didn't have high expectations, just wanted soup... The lady who took our order was a real big sister, offering us napkins so we wouldn't stain our robes with the rich coconut curry ramen. Very clean restaurant and both my stuffy nose and headache were cured by the delicious soup! :) If I lived in Berlin, I would definitely come more often!

I can only report here about the All U Can Eat hot pot offer at this Chinese restaurant. I have never tried the other main courses on the menu. The hot pot can be ordered for two or more people, for which you first have to choose two broths, although the level of spiciness of the chili broth can be agreed upon with the service staff. The menu includes a wide selection of vegetables, meat, pasta and some seafood. In fact, one course with three plates was enough for two people. But you could have ordered more (note: according to the menu, uneaten food will be charged extra). You also get a bowl of peanut sauce, which you can mix with the soy sauce and chili paste to create the classic hot pot dip. Unfortunately, this doesn't offer as much design options as other hot pot restaurants. The dishes offered for the hot pot are also quite standard, but certain specialties are missing. Nevertheless, a visit to Lucky Star is definitely worth it.

The hotpot hotspot. Truly delicious and highly recommended. What I really like is that the portions are adjusted so there aren't too many leftovers. They refill as needed, which is quick. Attentive and very friendly staff.

Very tasty food and great service

This restaurant was a complete disappointment! Way too expensive for what you get. It is advertised as an “all-you-can-eat” buffet, but in reality the system is designed in such a way that you should order as little as possible because you cannot fill it up yourself and have to call staff. The portions are tiny, the meat is sliced ​​paper thin, and there are hardly any side dishes, just a few sad pieces of vegetables. In addition, there are far too few staff, which suggests that the employees here are being exploited. The service was slow and inattentive, probably because the staff is completely overloaded. In the end, the three of us paid over 80 euros and still remained hungry. Absolutely not recommended, save your money and go somewhere else!

The two of us ate all you can eat hot pot here during the week and were super satisfied. The food was very good and more than sufficient. There is a huge selection of sauces and vegetarian options too. The friendly service was very authentic. When it comes to the ambience, it's more of an objective opinion, but because the ceiling is so high, the room seems a little uncomfortable and it gets a little louder after a certain number of guests. But I definitely recommend it. It was a nice visit.

We went to Lucky Star on Friday evening to finally eat hot pot. We walk past the restaurant every day and, especially in summer, you can easily see the guests' tables. That made us very curious. Our curiosity was rewarded. We were greeted by a very friendly and competent waitress who gave us great advice on the choice of soups and also knew straight away if we had an intolerance and eliminated certain products for us. The food was incredibly delicious! We could hardly stop eating. Luckily, the food wasn't that difficult. The only thing we still need to practice is eating noodles and soup with chopsticks. My shirt was pretty dirty, but of course the restaurant can't do anything about that. We will definitely come back and recommend a visit to our friends.

Tried the hot pot there today. Value for money is very good as you get as many ingredients as you want. The selection is a little smaller but you can still get something for every taste. A big compliment also for the staff. Super friendly and very responsive to guests' wishes and give tips. For example, which broth is how spicy and which ones are perhaps a little too similar to combine. Highly recommended, especially for newcomers to the hot pot who are not very familiar with it. The decoration is quite subtle but it was still cozy.

I only ate German food, but it was so cold and I wanted to eat warm soup, so I came here after reading the review and it was a really good choice!! The restaurant is very clean, the staff is really friendly and sensible, and they bring you everything you need, and the hotpot is really delicious!! Eating this really hot soup made me feel like my body was melting, and there were so many different kinds of vegetables and meats, and I could eat an endless amount of food, so I ate it to my stomach. The hottest soup, chili? I had the white stew and it didn't have any seasoning, so if you're Korean, you should definitely order some chili! Is that a marathon? It felt the same, but it was so delicious that I put it all in the marinara rather than the white soup. I highly recommend it!!!

It was very, very tasty 🤤 hard to beat for the price

1 hour before closing time I joined a larger group of friends who had all eaten HotPot and still had a few leftovers. So I snacked on the leftovers and just ordered 2 small bowls of rice. In the end I was allowed to pay €22.8, the full price of the hotpot, without having ordered anything else. When asked, they only grinned mischievously. Customer-friendly service is different.

The buffet is quite worthy with plenty of choices. The environment is quite good with a high ceiling. Unfortunately, there are no enoki mushrooms or yuba. The clerk also explained that they are not provided because few people order them so as not to waste them.

Excellent. Myself and my wife ordered the Hot-Pot for our anniversary meal. There was no lotus root, bamboo or enoki mushrooms but we still ate very well. Very helpful staff.

Decided on a Chinese hotpot for our 2nd dinner in Berlin. How it compares to those we've tried in Beijing & Sydney. We chose the consomme & curry as our stock. Tasted like chicken consomme & laksa. Large platter of frozen sliced beef, lamb & chicken. Platter of Calamari, prawns, fish balls. Large platter of rice noodles, Mushrooms, wombok, spinach. Dipping sauces- chilli & soy sauces & a sesame peanut dippling sauce. We noticed other diners added rice to their selection. We didn't due to potential carb coma afterwards, but rice with the hot pot soup would have been delicious. On a Wednesday night, half the restaurant was filled. Almost all partaking in the hotpot...over quite a few lagers of beer. Overall for 22 euro pp, it was great value for all you can eat. I can imagine on a cold, miserable Berlin winter night, the place would be very very busy! The waitress spoke perfect English. Replenished our plates of sliced meat & veg with a smile without making us feel like gluts. We rolled out of the restaurant...satisfied after a good meal. The soup at the end of our meal was even more delicious. Highly recommended for a value for money, all u can eat hot pot experience in Berlin. A good experience to share hot pot with a group of friends. The bigger the group the better with lots of beer!!! It is not the OTT hot pot that u can get in other predominantly Asian cities, but great for destination Berlin.

Was there with my gf for a late lunch for the all you can eat hotpot. It was very nice, the restaurant wasn't very busy and the service was super fast. We ate a while bunch if meat and seafood, but the veggie selection was also nice. The lamb was very good and the broth very tasty. We will be frequenting the restaurant again some time for sure.
