I can't comment on the hotel, only on the restaurant: an old, traditional restaurant in Saarlouis under new management. A young team that's doing things differently without compromising the restaurant's spirit. New (delicious) dishes have been added, while others have been eliminated, blending things together. Last night, the restaurant was full, so there might have been some minor mix-ups with the dishes, but that wasn't a big deal. We will definitely be back, and regularly if possible.

We visited the restaurant twice and were always very satisfied

We arrived at the restaurant with a larger group, having announced our arrival, and unfortunately discovered that we were only offered a limited selection of dishes. Another large group that evening, however, was allowed to choose from the entire menu – this unequal treatment was very irritating. We were particularly disappointed that the selection presented to us did not include any vegetarian or vegan dishes. Given that more and more people are avoiding animal products these days for ethical or health reasons, this is unacceptable. A modern restaurant should be able to provide appropriate alternatives. In addition, there were displays on the tables with seasonal dishes, which, however, were also not available to order. This seemed contradictory and significantly dampened the mood among our group. Overall, this was a very unsatisfactory experience. Therefore, a clear 1 star.

Spent a week at the Lothringer Hof, room on the first floor large and newly furnished, nice bathroom, unfortunately the location on the main road is not ideal but noisy, opening the window in the heat is almost impossible, bus stops are right outside the door, and the heavy proletarian traffic to the center of SLS does the rest. The breakfast quality is rather mediocre, the refrigerated counter is showing its age... The restaurant service is good, the prices are okay, there is a menu and a daily special. Unfortunately the young lady serving is not blessed with attentiveness and prefers to play with her cell phone and make the table wait 20 minutes until she takes an order, her two male colleagues behaved similarly ignorantly. When confronted about this, the young lady reacted rather irritably and cheekily, not the image of what good service should convey.

Food and service Louisa very very nice!

This refers to the food, We only ate. We ordered 2 Veal schnitzels with pomace fries and one with croquettes. Came in 2 Veal schnitzels with pomace fries they missed that we ordered croquettes. The staff stayed away. The veal schnitzel was so thin that the knife blade was almost thicker. Unfortunately we did not read the review a week earlier where a guest was equally dissatisfied. They have also raised the price to €24.5 per. piece total €49. Never again.

The room was showing its age; the bathroom door frame was rotten from water, the shower had a shower head, and the TV was on top of the wardrobe. The food was good, but the prices didn't match the online prices. In summary, a message and one meal was OK.

Hotel Review Lothringer Hof My stay at the Hotel Lothringer Hof was consistently positive. The hotel offers a pleasant atmosphere and impresses with friendly service and clean, well-maintained rooms. The comfortable beds, which are waterbeds, are particularly noteworthy. They offer an exceptional and very comfortable sleep, ensuring restful nights. The rooms are well-equipped, have a TV (more channels would have been welcome), and offer everything you need for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was also absolutely excellent. There was fresh scrambled eggs and coffee, various jams, and a variety of orange juices to drink, which provided a solid start to the day. The selection was good and of good quality. Overall, I can definitely recommend the Hotel Lothringer Hof, both for business travelers and for leisure stays.

The schnitzel was nothing. €22 for a thin 180g schnitzel is steep. It also had no flavor.

Very nice old house and a good memory card

I had a thoroughly pleasant stay at the Lothringer Hof in Saarlouis. The location is ideal – central, yet quiet. My room was very clean, tastefully furnished, and offered everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would particularly like to emphasize the excellent service: The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and always helpful. I felt truly welcome here and would definitely return. A true gem in Saarlouis!

The starter was quite nice, but the main course unfortunately wasn't delivered... Statement: The printer in the kitchen sometimes goes haywire... no apology, no alternative... never experienced anything like this before...

4-star food We went to the restaurant. Service was good, but inexperienced. There's no allergy menu, although it's listed. Starters were good (carpaccio, snails, and pan-fried scampi); main courses (veal schnitzel and entrecote) were very good, except for my pasta with shaved truffle! The pasta was just okay, and the truffle was only a dusting... Definitely not a recommendation for this pasta. Dessert, the crème brûlée, was very good.

Nice hotel with very friendly service

The hotel is clean, the service staff friendly, but everything else is mediocre. Breakfast is minimalist and by no means fresh. The juices are fermented, the sausages are scant. The bathroom only has a shower curtain. The room has a new window installed, not plastered. I've stayed in better guesthouses with better breakfasts.

We weren't in the hotel but in the restaurant. Service was absolutely great, food was very good. Price performance is absolutely right here. Only our vegetarian complained about not enough choice. As everywhere else, there are mainly vegetarian noodles

Reserved a table for 5 people 6 weeks before the appointment then received a call 3.5 hours before the appointment/meal that the table was only reserved for outside due to a larger celebration. Table reserved in March for the beginning of May because no one knows what the weather will be like in the evening in 6 weeks. Incidentally, storms and rain were forecast for the evening in question from 5 p.m. If you cancel a reservation 3.5 hours before the appointment, you shouldn't be surprised if you get bad reviews. Such an outrageous thing! So be careful when making reservations in the restaurant - you could end up without a table... Alternatively, perhaps reserve another table in a restaurant with a better understanding of reservations.

In addition, there is an excellent price-performance ratio. For the quality, the service and the atmosphere you pay an absolutely fair price here. Great hotel! Easy check-in, uncomplicated and good rooms. Really good value for money. Hospitable staff.

Unfortunately it's a bit old and doesn't quite correspond to the pictures from booking.com, for example. The wallpaper is peeling off in some places, the shower doesn't have a cubicle but a curtain and there is no WiFi in the room. Despite booking for two people, there is only one blanket in the room and only one towel in the bathroom.

We didn't book a room but just visited the restaurant. We were very satisfied with the food and the service.

My visit to the Lothringer Hof on November 28th, 2024, together with my wife, was a welcome addition to our trip that had previously taken us to Metz. The inviting atmosphere in your restaurant and the excellent food contributed significantly to a very successful evening. We were particularly impressed by the frog legs, an authentically prepared dish that pays tribute to the cuisine of Lorraine. My wife's lamb crowns were also of the highest quality, and the wine recommendation was excellent. The extremely positive display of fresh towels in the toilets, which to be honest I have never seen before, not even in upscale restaurants, underlines both the guest's appreciation and the high standards of the hotel. I'm already looking forward to our next visit to the Lothringer Hof and can highly recommend this restaurant!

Very centrally located and inexpensive. Parking spaces in front of the house. Highly recommended and also inexpensive. Great breakfast with fresh regional products. Excellent food and drink in the evening. You should also reserve well in advance. Extremely friendly service staff.

Hotel in a central location. Room was newly renovated and clean. Own balcony access, which was still usable because of the street noise. Noisy house, both from inside and from the street. Breakfast was appropriate for the price. Small breakfast buffet with baked rolls.

Maybe we were just unlucky... The reception is the bar. Although there is a parking space in the advertisement, the parking option on the weekend was the employment office parking lot. I wonder what you do with the car on weekdays during the week? The explanation is poor. Check-in was short and sweet. Everything is not very inviting. No elevator available. We definitely won't come back.

A very nice family-run hotel/restaurant. The city is really very close and can be reached quickly on foot even for older people. The rooms are newly renovated and the bathroom is really big. The atmosphere is really great thanks to the friendly and competent staff, who make every effort to fulfill the guests' wishes immediately. Would love to book again!

Was there for lunch with the family. Very tasty food. Three courses of soup, Main course, dessert... everything excellent with a pleasant price. One of the few places where you can drink a coffee black 😊. I can only recommend a visit to everyone., 😄😄

Nice hotel not far from the town centre. We had a room in the new part which had it's own balcony. The room was great but the shower was the best we had in all of our stays and when you've been cycling for 50 plus miles at our age it's something you appreciate more than usual. Breakfast was great and the price was very reasonable.

Convenient hotel for the city centre, five minute walk. Polite and friendly staff. Large and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Unfortunately the rooms are poorly soundproofed. Free parking nearby. Good breakfast and excellent restaurant service.

Drink prices are way too high for a shop in the outskirts

We had a delicious lunch in the restaurant. Homemade pasta, fresh fish and very tasty vegetables. Great wine selection. Friendly staff. We will be back.

Unfortunately the room cannot be darkened. But there was a holey blanket lying around that you should probably take. Not acceptable for the price… half a construction site…

I had reserved a long time in advance for May 1st to celebrate my 80th birthday. We got there and hey there was only Schwenkr and Bratwurst. There was no a la carte. We were not informed by anyone beforehand. That was an absolute disgrace and disappointment. Not recommended as the staff became rude and dismissive.

The food is very good. In the bathroom I miss a shelf for cosmetic utensils. Otherwise very good.

It was our first time at Lothringer Hof for dinner. What others call “old-fashioned,” I call “flair.” We found the atmosphere in the restaurant (we sat in the back) cozy. We felt very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and any special requests were promptly fulfilled. The range of food on offer was perfect for our taste. We had a hard time deciding. I had the best salad with goat cheese in honey with fresh figs. The clear dressing was just as convincing as the cream dressing on the side salad. My husband couldn't have made the Zurich Geschnetzelte better (and that from his mouth), the salmon fillet with grilled vegetables and crispy fries instead of tagliatelle convinced my mother. The portions were plentiful. Conclusion: we have a new favorite restaurant.

The renovated rooms are attractive and modern and, above all, clean! The breakfast selection is rather mediocre. Little attention was paid to whether refilling was necessary. No separate vegan offer or milk alternative products.

Wir haben eine Nacht im Lothringer Hof verbracht. Die Betten und Kopfkissen waren sehr bequem. Im ganzen hatten wir einen tollen Aufenthalt. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltigen. - Kleine Anmerkung: Wer im Zimmer 117 zu lange duscht, setzt das komplette Zimmer unter Wasser.

Restaurant Bewertung: - Alles in einem ging es so. Ich finde die Preise entsprechen nicht ganz der Qualität und Portion. Einige Gerichte waren gut, aber einiger große Flops, vor Jahren mal besser gewesen. Sorry... Service und Freundlichkeit waren i.O. Sauberkeit auch.

Ganz tolles Hotel in sehr guter Innenstadtlage. Das Frühstück ist sehr üppig und bietet alles was das Herz begehrt. Ab Abend haben wir im Restaurant gegessen und es war perfekt!! Alles in allem ein sehr gelungenes Wochenende in einer sehr guten Unterkunft. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir waren mit 16 Personen da . Der Service schien mit den Bestellungen überfordert. Falsche Getränke wurden gebracht. Das Essen von fast allen war sehr fade die Nudeln zu weich .Der Fisch schon trocken. Und die Salate waren auch nicht besonders. Und obwohl wir so ziemlich die ersten waren , mussten wir eine gute Stunde auf unser Essen warten .

Gemütliches Hotel in der Nähe vom Zentrum. Und hat der Aufenthalt gut gefallen. Nettes Personal und sauberes Zimmer. Die Fußbodenheizung im Zimmer ist sehr angenehm und es ist überall super kuschelig warm. 👍👍 Das Frühstück ist ausreichend und es ist alles vorhanden, was man so braucht. 😋 Gerne kommen wir wieder zum Übernachten vorbei. Vielen lieben Dank ans ganze Team 👍.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 13 Leuten zum Sonntagsfrühstück da. Miserabeler Service, eine einzelne Kanne Kaffee für 13 Personen. Buffet ständig leer. Billige Aufbackbrötchen. Das Lokal war personell unterbesetzt. Die einzige Dame, die im Service war, hat alles übernommen, Bedienen, Zubereitung von Getränken, abräumen, Gäste auschecken.Die Geschäftsführung sollte sich vielleicht mal überlegen, ihren Personalstand aufzustocken. Wenn man nicht genügend Personal hat, darf man nicht so viele Reservierungen annehmen. Es ist ein bisschen schade wir waren vor Pächterwechsel jahrelang Stammgäste. Nach dem Pächterwechsel waren wir 3 mal dort und jedesmal enttäuscht vom Essen und vom Service. Ich denke wir müssen uns jetzt leider vom Lothringer Hof verabschieden.
