L'Osteria Düsseldorf Theodorstraße in Düsseldorf

We are very used to going to the L'Osteria in other cities, but this one was so far the worst experience we had. The food that we usually eat, it was not tasty. The waiter was alone to help the whole saloon, and he was in a very bad mood (of course!). The drink that I usually order was tasting like water :( We were with a newborn, and they sat with us in the sun...regardless our request to sit in another place. This restaurant is nice and has a playground for the kids outside. During the good weather, it is also nice to sit outside.

It's amazing that after this experience I get an email asking me to leave a review. I'm honestly absolutely appalled at how bad the L'Osteria experience has become here. In recent years we have been here regularly before DEG games and although I am generally not a fan of "chains", it was always clear: they do their job very well and are friendly too. I had nothing to complain about in terms of friendliness this time either, but we simply didn't get to eat. I want to go to ice hockey with friends and reserve a table here weeks in advance with two hours (!) of time before the game starts. The service was catastrophically understaffed and consequently slow. We ended up going to the game hungry because the food just didn't come and we had to leave. Even with the drinks there was now enough for two rounds. This is not how we imagined the evening to be.

The food was good, as always, the service was friendly, unfortunately we had to wait an hour for our order, so we were late for ice hockey.

So far, this is the only correct and sensible L’Osteria besides the one on Jahnstrasse, which is available here in the Düsseldorf area. The service is good and the toilets are clean. There are still decent portions where no one saves on any things and they take care of you here... This goes unnoticed in most places, especially on Berliner Allee. So clearly. The recommendation goes here and not elsewhere.

50 minutes after we ordered our pizza, we asked when it would be served. So the answer came, it always takes so long. If we didn't have time to eat, they would pack it for us to take to the ice hockey game. A few minutes later it was served. I then asked to be allowed to pay directly. I paid cash. It was rounded up on the grounds that there was no change. Dear staff, you have a lot to do but that really disappointed me. The lady messed up the tip herself, saying she couldn't give any change back. Maybe we'll have a better experience another time.

Service is often slow and doesn't actively pay attention to guests. The ambience and food are designed more for a show, but just a show. I think it's rather poor value for money. Certainly nice for company events, but privately I won't be drawn to a L'Osteria again.

We celebrated our birthday there with 12 people. The space reserved for us was far too small. We got the food and the cutlery came 5 minutes later because there was none left! The girls were very friendly! The food was ok, some of it was cold!

The salad was very tasty. Our waitress Elena served us very nicely and was very, very friendly!!

ATTENTION: I only gave one star about a year ago. Now I was pleasantly surprised. We were served IMMEDIATELY and in a friendly manner. The order was taken immediately. Pizza was cut the first time as requested, the drinks were there immediately. Service is not difficult, it just needs to be well coordinated. You have finally hired great staff. Thank you for the good food!

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at L'Osteria today. We arrived around 9:15pm to have dinner with four foreign friends and look forward to a lovely evening. Even though the restaurant is open until 11 p.m. according to the opening times, we were turned away. The explanation? “We have to ventilate.” Whatever that means – it was certainly not a plausible excuse as to why we could no longer be served at this time of day. It would be understandable if a kitchen closed at a certain time, but such an excuse seems unprofessional and disrespectful to the guests. It's particularly disappointing when you invite extra friends there and then end up empty-handed. We will probably look for more hospitable alternatives in the future.

The food was good, the pizzas are generous and huge. The staff is friendly, but not always out of the way. I found it very loud when I visited today. And next time I'll be happy when the glass is full to 0.5 points...:-). So feel free to step up a gear!!

The food was once again an absolute dream! And the staff was, as always, super nice. We celebrated my wife's birthday here! Gladly again!

The food and drinks are ok in terms of price-performance ratio. It could be a little cleaner on the floor.

Despite reservations, we waited 3/4 hour just for the drinks. After asking the waiter as a guest, the drinks only arrived 15 minutes later. Top performance👍🏻. Another half hour passed and nothing happened. After a discussion with the waiter, the situation almost escalated. In the end we left the juice shop without paying for the drinks and with an empty stomach. And there was a waiting line outside the entrance😄😄. Despite reservations, it is not possible to guarantee a smooth process. If there are events in the PSD Bank Dome despite reservations, it is better to avoid L'Osteria. It's a matter of luck if you get something to eat. After 1 1/2 hours we were fed up. 😡😡😡 It would have just been pizza and not a 5 course menu. Never go there again!!!

We won't be coming back. The PSD Dome was overcrowded before the event, waiting times for drinks and food were very, very long!! Waiter very unfriendly. Not good in taste either. Service insufficient despite reservation. Nothing is right here.

Unfortunately weak compared to other restaurants in the chain. Staff sometimes listless, pizza poor in taste in comparison. This can be done better, for example in Duisburg and Mönchengladbach.

I absolutely love this pizzeria! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or family. The staff is friendly, attentive and makes you feel at home straight away. The highlight is of course the pizzas: crispy base, fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. The BBQ Chicken pizza was particularly enjoyable – a must for anyone who loves fresh and authentic Italian cuisine. The selection of desserts is also excellent.

The atmosphere is cozy and the service is super friendly. The food, as always, was very tasty. Highly recommended!

Impossible! We were here before an event and the restaurant was completely overwhelmed. The first meal came thirty minutes before the second. The third upon request! again a good 20 minutes later… the only comment was “there’s a lot going on”. What was to be expected on a day like this due to the many reservations... everyone ate individually!

When we arrived there we were greeted in a friendly manner and taken to our table. The waiter (yasir) was right there with us and served us. Very reliable and fast service. Our food was there after a few minutes. Overall we were very happy with the food and staff. We recommend everyone to come here

If you explicitly advertise that "eat at L'Osteria before the concert in the PSD Dome" then you have to have your business under control or leave it alone. Despite reservations, hopelessly overbooked. The line for “reservations” was easily 30 minutes. How are you supposed to make it to the concert in time??? Instead of at least apologizing, they just said "they (!) have all the reservations here, get in line" Yes, well, then not. A simple "Sorry guys, something went terribly wrong here. We're sorry" could probably have prevented this rezi. Something can always go wrong. But like that... It remains a mystery how one can fail so despite an online booking system.

Very bad, nothing other than McDonalds! Luckily the patty is gone! As an employer, give it a wide berth!

Thank God we had reservations. At some point the store was bursting at the seams because - just like us - there were a lot of visitors there. wanted to eat in this only nearby restaurant before the concert took place. Unfortunately, the entrance organization affected both reservations and spontaneous guests, so the reservations had to fight their way through. This could be solved with 2 rows. Unfortunately, our waiter was quite listless but friendly. The highlight, however, was when he informed us that we couldn't order an appetizer. The kitchen would be overwhelmed, so you wouldn't be able to do it in the allotted 90 minutes. It's a shame, we were looking forward to the antipasti platter. So we ordered drinks and main courses. It's just strange that everything was there in 20 minutes. So we were even able to order dessert and we were still finished after 75 minutes. The appetizer would have been in there too! In addition, the kitchen was able to make dozens of pizzas for those who had not made reservations and those who had picked up food. It's a shame how priorities are given here. The food was great, value for money was good, the service was so-so, the atmosphere was quite tense/stressed ("mass processing").

System catering is - like here - often loud and rather uncomfortable. The food was okay, as was the service, the pizza was just as salty as the prices: I don't think 15 euros for something like this is reasonable anymore: you should be able to expect something special for it: but that wasn't it!

Very tasty, as always, and yet better than the other L'Osteria I've had the pleasure of getting to know so far. The Ipanema and the Prosciutto Cudo tasted very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

We were in the restaurant today at 4:30 p.m. We were able to order after 10 minutes. 2 carpaccio, which came after about 30 minutes, were delicious, €16.90 was steep, but ok. The two-part pizza arrived another 60 minutes later, unfortunately ice cold. The waiter who had been serving until then was no longer visible. Instead (literally) ONE young waitress ran around alone for about 25 tables. A joke from the management, because no guest cares whether there are too few people employed or whether they are absent due to illness. Our complaint about the cold pizza at the counter was noticed after 15 minutes. We didn't want to burden the waitress, who in our opinion deserved a medal, with our business... The complaint was then excused by the nice waitress and she ordered the pizza again. After another 20 minutes we received a hot pizza of the good quality known for this franchise system. It was actually really tasty, even though it was clouded by my bad mood... We only had one drink each, which of course was far too little for two hours. Of course we were thirsty, but we couldn't order, the nice young lady had to manage everything herself... Clearing up, taking orders, distributing food etc... On the way out, after more than two hours, we spoke to the nice young man at reception. We described the story on site, he listened to it and then wanted to invite us for dessert on the way out... Since we were really being served in the truest sense of the word, we politely declined, we just wanted to leave... We were really annoyed for 60€, even though 60€ doesn't mean the world for two people... We go out to eat 2-3 times a week, so we experience a lot... Lots of good things and sometimes things don't quite work out... Granted, we are all just human... But this experience was really the worst in the last 20 years.......

Lots of pizzas to choose from, menu easy to understand. Unfortunately a bit expensive, but that's normal these days (inflation). I would recommend.

Hands off! Lousy service that doesn't do justice to the restaurant chain. On a moderately busy Sunday afternoon, we were seated at a table half in the sun (despite wanting to sit in the shade). After 20 minutes a waiter came to us for the first time to take our order. Drinks yes, he didn't want to hear about food. Our two kids (3 and 7 years old) are starving, the grandparents are very thirsty. After we still had no drinks in the next 25 minutes, we ordered the waiter over and asked how that could be. Instead of answering politely, he became mushy and said "he doesn't want to argue now, we can see that he's working"... Yes, we saw him working, pouring drinks in complete calm and slow motion, obviously accompanying well-known guests who came 25 minutes after us to tables that we were denied (we're not talking about a reserved table here, there were 20 free). ) and has already provided them with drinks and taken their food order. We were even told that there was no rush because we didn't even have a lot of kids with us or anything like that. I don't know if the waiter had tomatoes on his eyes or ears, but our kids were clearly visible and audible. After the inappropriate and unreasonable reaction, we left the store without any problems. By the way, a couple next to us had already been waiting for their food for 60 minutes. Conclusion: I cannot judge the quality of the food or drinks as we were denied this privilege. I don't really care about the ambience when it comes to the way you treat your guests. Maybe it was just the biggest fail service provider we had to deal with there, but it seemed like the good gentleman had more to say. Please drive 3km further, there is a great clubhouse with great Italian cuisine. Unbeatable in terms of price, but above all humane. After 3 minutes we had warm bread on the table to tide the kids over.

We were there yesterday on September 22nd, 24 to have lunch. Seven with two children. Our request to eat indoors in the back area was not fulfilled even though other guests were already sitting there. It took 25 minutes for an employee to take our order. We already knew what we wanted to drink and eat. However, the employee refused to take the food order and said he would come back immediately. After a total of 40 minutes we still had no drinks and none of the employees came to see us again. While we were busy waiting, we saw two more families come into the restaurant. One of the families (approx. 10 people) was allowed to sit in the area that had previously been denied to us. In addition, both families had their drinks after a short time. The employee who took our drinks worked at a pace that was absolutely inappropriate. While the other two employees worked really quickly to make up for the missed time. When we asked after 40 minutes, relatively annoyed, why we still didn't have any drinks even though other guests who came after us already had their food on the table. Understanding and an apology came. Instead, just statements like you can see that I'm working. If you can't see that, buy glasses. This behavior is not only very rude but also unprofessional. I wanted the employee's name. However, he refused to tell me his name. We then left the restaurant thirsty and hungry and drove to a decent Italian restaurant (La Dominiko) around the corner. We had drinks there after 10 minutes and bread on the table. Even the pizza for the children was brought forward because they were so hungry.

So the staff isn't exactly friendly. As for the food, we weren't impressed. It was like crispbread with toppings. What definitely pissed me off was the cold coffee. It was just lukewarm. How long it must have stood. So we had been waiting for the coffee for a long time. So for me it was a real disappointment, being attracted by the beautiful buildings and being served like that was sad...

Even though we were there with a larger group, the food came quite quickly. The service was great as long as Alan was on duty. After that, drinks ordered only came sporadically or not at all. The noise in this place is terrible. The disabled toilet is also used as a staff toilet. The result: the toilet seat was lying loosely on the bowl and the floor was very dirty. There is another way.

The pizza was interesting, something that we didn’t tried in Germany before. They have an offer where you can order 2 big pizzas (check the photo) made from 4. For example, you order Margherita with Quattro Formaggi (half from Margherita and half from Quattro Formaggi). This gives a bigger variety and you can have a taste from more types of pizza. The place is also nice but needs some improvements. How you can see from the pictures, the sun was “hitting us”. It’s uncomfortable to stay and try to have a decent meal in the middle of the day and in the same time to sweat. At first when we got there we asked the guys if we can have a table for 2 somewhere where we can hide from the sun. They didn’t tried to help us out and said “We only have these tables cause the other ones are reserved”. After staying there for like 1,5 hour, i noticed that those tables which were reserved were still empty. Anyway, the next uncomfortable thing was the guy who took our order. It was a big guy, we forgot the name, with an attitude that made us felt like we are wasting his time or something like this. He was not so friendly and helpful like a normal waiter should be and on top of that he made us feel uncomfortable, like i needed to order in a rush cause he didn’t had time for us or so. When pizza got there, nobody cleaned the table before and they just thrown the pizza on the table. We heard that in other places they put some sort of paper or newspaper on the table because of the big pizza, so the pizza doesn’t have contact directly with the table. I found that a little weird and not so hygienic to be honest. Even if they say, “yeah the table were disinfected and cleaned” before we got there, it’s still dust in the air…Definitely not going back again.

We ate there after an event at the Dome (you shouldn't do this). The ambience is standard for l'osteria. The staff tries hard but in this case they are completely overwhelmed. We ordered food 3*Lasagne and 1*Carbonara and drinks. Normally the drinks are there well before the meal, but this wasn't the case here. Within 10 minutes the lasagna and the noodles were in front of us, although they said it would take a while because it was full. The food that was served quickly was lukewarm, one was even cold in the middle. (This portion was returned and we got it back within a very short time, not much warmer. My spaghetti carbonara had so much pasta water in the sauce that it looked like colored water and was tasteless apart from the bacon. Any sensible Italian would be ashamed to serve something like that and Nonna would turn in her grave. The salad ordered with it is a disgrace for the price, other restaurants have that as a decoration on their plates. Obviously the entrepreneur is only interested in maximizing profits at events in the dome. I know this much better from other houses from this company. Unfortunately, this also reflects poorly on other locations in this chain. I am aware that the employees can do less, but as a chef I would be ashamed to send cold/lukewarm food. Every dish should have a certain temperature, if only to avoid germs in the food. Lasagne, for example, is pre-produced is no problem and completely ok, but it should be hot when served. Since the next visit will surely come and then I will have a thermometer with me. If this happens again, food control will be informed conclusively. The staff was obviously overwhelmed in terms of service and therefore latently irritated. This visit was not nice 😞

Disaster. The team was overwhelmed and listless, ordered 3 lasagne and once carbonara. Lasagna completely cold for 15€ fifteen euros!! Once she went back and said she was ice cold. The same lasagna came back just warmed up. Laughable. But the franchisee should be ashamed of himself. But the staff says he doesn't care. We definitely won't be going to La Osteria anymore, no matter where. Thanks for nothing! Oh funnily enough, the food came before the drinks. 🤣

Pure disappointment. The location is nice, with a playground, but that's about it. The service was very bad today. The waiters constantly sit at the back entrance and chat instead of serving the customers. Only one waitress is around, she's probably new. We waited a long time for anyone to come to us even though it wasn't full. The waiters were busy chatting. And when we wanted to get up, someone came.
