We ate at Lindenmatte last week. A very pleasant atmosphere, but the highlight, in my opinion, was the food. It was beautifully flavored and had a lovely oriental touch. We had the Kabuli Palau, Sabsi Djalau, and the eggplant. We highly recommend Lindenmatte; we had a great evening there and will definitely be back. Best regards, Mika

Nice restaurant with a very friendly staff. I stopped in with my girlfriend to drink a couple of beers during a warm sunny day. We didn't order any food, so I can't say how tasty it is, but I was very pleased with the drinks and service. Maybe I'll have a chance to eat there next time I'm in Freiburg.

I often eat in Lima - very tasty and inexpensive food. Quality is top and service is very attentive and friendly at the same time. In the summer things don't go so quickly, but you can see that the boss and staff are making a lot of effort to do justice to everyone. Cozy, attractive beer garden and the interior is always well maintained and clean. Always my pleasure :-)

The Lindenmatte has been an institution since I was a student (it was a long time ago). The outside area in particular has its charm.

We were here with a large party. The service was friendly, attentive and made an effort. The food was delicious and there is a lot to choose from.

In the 90s I was a regular here - playing skat or billiards, fried potato slices, sausage salad. Now there's an Afghan inside. The pool table is no longer there, the ambience is different. The German classics from the old Lindenmatte are still there. But you can safely forget about them - because they can't hold a candle to Afghan dishes! The Kabuli Palau in particular is a dream, whether vegetarian or with lamb! Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned - interesting but not intrusive, simply absolutely harmonious and still exciting! The people there are just really nice and in the summer the beer garden is super cozy. A place to feel good and enjoy!

For years now and again when I'm in Littenweiler we've been drawn to the LiMa. Fried potatoes with garlic dip is always possible. If you like more of the dips, order flatbread with three dips for €4.70. A real price breaker. This time also Kabuli Palau; incredibly tasty and fresh. All in all, a cozy, delicious evening with pleasant music. The only downside: I think €8.10 for a carafe of still water is exorbitant (even if it's a liter) 😉.

Rarely have I eaten such deliciously prepared rice. Without reordering, an additional portion of sauce was placed on the table during the meal. Everything was great.

I had dinner there last year in April 2023 with another person. It was my second time there, last time in the middle of the beer garden in the summer. We didn't really feel welcome and it was only 7:30 p.m. An Afghan restaurant specializing in simple Western European home cooking as we discovered: schnitzel and fries. Maybe it also depends on the audience. We treated ourselves to two of the few Afghan dishes. The lentil soup was bubbling and very sour. Just over it, nice. We politely asked what was going on with it. We were told that this soup is always leavened with vinegar. I couldn't finish it. Then there were the filled dumplings. When we served it smelled similar to the soup and to our surprise the dumplings were filled with the bad dal. The crowning glory came from the cook, probably the innkeeper's father, who sat down at the counter in the dining room and lit a cigarette, then another and went over to the slot machines to play. It was shrouded in the stench of cigarettes. We stayed there for an hour and left again, no, fled. Unpleasant, unappetizing, poor quality, disgusting. I often ask myself why this restaurant doesn't make better use of its spatial qualities and location. Too bad. Except for the beer garden atmosphere, the rest is worth running away from. Of course: if you want beer and schnitzel with fries, you can get it there - in the Afghan Restaurant.

Extremely good Afghan food. Thank God the chef doesn't try to adapt the cuisine to the German palate. 100 percent authentic!!! The chef's son provides the perfect service. Very attentive and friendly. Thank you very much, we felt very comfortable.

The aubergines are a must!! I tried them with balsamti rice and a friend with the Bratkartoffeln. The Bolani was also really good. We accompanied everything with a Urtrunk Bier. Also quite recommendable. We sat outside and in a nice sunny day it was refreshing. The service was good. They could use some music.

In fact, the combination of Afghan dishes on the menu and a selection of sausage salad, Brägele and schnitzel irritated me. Restaurants that combine two cuisines are initially suspicious to me, true to the motto: Shoemaker, stick to your last... The Lindenmatte, however, taught me otherwise: the food was great, the dishes were finely prepared, and the service was exceptionally good. I have rarely received such friendly, courteous and quick service there. In addition, the restaurant is not that crowded and you can have a good conversation. The only minimal point deduction is that I'm always cold in the restaurant or I already know that I have to dress warmly.

I've ordered here many times and will definitely do so again, but they should adjust the packaging because this time they burned holes in the plastic so that all the sauce leaked out. I also had the feeling that the meatballs were stretched with bread rolls. Otherwise top taste. And top service.

Small, cozy restaurant that serves Afghan home cooking. The map is extensive but clear. The service on site is extremely friendly. We felt very comfortable, were very happy with our food and had a very nice evening. In summer there is an outdoor area that is exposed to the sun. In winter it is not open and is sometimes used as a parking space for cars, which makes the place seem a bit unwelcoming at first glance. Don't let this influence you and enjoy the food!

During my last visit to the Lindenmatte I was really excited about the Afghan specialties that were offered here. The food was very nicely seasoned and had a very good aroma and the portions were more than enough for me and my wife. The employees were very polite and responded very well to my special requests. Hello, I placed an order with Lieferando. This was accepted and after waiting for over an hour it was simply canceled and not delivered. I have never encountered such bottomless impudence. Such unreliable restaurants should not be allowed to be listed on Lieferando!!

Personal nett und entgegenkommend, der Chef hingegen sehr schroff und selbstbezogen. Durfte mir lautstark anhören dass es meine Schuld war, dass Lieferando mein Essen mir nicht gebracht hat aber meinen Mitbewohner schon. Und ich mich bei denen beschweren muss und er damit nichts zu tun hat. Noch nie als Kunde so behandelt, wenn ich mein Essen nicht bekommen habe. Verständlich das er wütend ist wenn die Lieferando Fahrer was verchecken, es dann aber am Kunden rauslassen, naja :/

Absolutely fantastic Sunday dinner at Captain's Table at Biggrig Cumbria. Staff very friendly and attentive, meal not only delicious but we'll presented. If you want something reasonably priced and great tasting, Captain's Table is a must.

Katastrophales Erlebnis: Bestellung vergessen, nach 1 Stunde warten und Nachfragen das falsche Essen gebracht, lange auf Rechnung gewartet. Keine Entschuldigung, Chef nicht zu sprechen und Androhung des Hausverweises und Rufen der Polizei. Sohn des Besitzers völlig überfordert

Die Pommes waren innen noch gefroren. Der Besitzer ist leider etwas schroff. Sein Sohn ist allerdings wirklich nett und macht seinen Job sehr gut

Eines der besten Gaststätten/Restaurants in Freiburg. Sehr nettes inhabergeführtes Lokal mit sehr leckeren Speisen, neben europäischen Gerichten runden die afghanischen Speisen die Menükarte sehr gut ab. Das Essen ist immer frisch zubereitet und qualitativ hochwertig. Der Klassiker sind die Bratkartoffeln mit Knobisauce. Eines der schönsten Biergärten in der Stadt. Die Preise sind total studentenfreundlich. Sehr nette Bedienung und ein ganz netter Chef. Eine Institution in Freiburg seit mehr als 30 Jahren!
