Nice restaurant with a very friendly staff. I stopped in with my girlfriend to drink a couple of beers during a warm sunny day. We didn't order any food, so I can't say how tasty it is, but I was very pleased with the drinks and service. Maybe I'll have a chance to eat there next time I'm in Freiburg.

I often eat in Lima - very tasty and inexpensive food. Quality is top and service is very attentive and friendly at the same time. In the summer things don't go so quickly, but you can see that the boss and staff are making a lot of effort to do justice to everyone. Cozy, attractive beer garden and the interior is always well maintained and clean. Always my pleasure :-)

The Lindenmatte has been an institution since I was a student (it was a long time ago). The outside area in particular has its charm.

We were here with a large party. The service was friendly, attentive and made an effort. The food was delicious and there is a lot to choose from.

In the 90s I was a regular here - playing skat or billiards, fried potato slices, sausage salad. Now there's an Afghan inside. The pool table is no longer there, the ambience is different. The German classics from the old Lindenmatte are still there. But you can safely forget about them - because they can't hold a candle to Afghan dishes! The Kabuli Palau in particular is a dream, whether vegetarian or with lamb! Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned - interesting but not intrusive, simply absolutely harmonious and still exciting! The people there are just really nice and in the summer the beer garden is super cozy. A place to feel good and enjoy!

For years now and again when I'm in Littenweiler we've been drawn to the LiMa. Fried potatoes with garlic dip is always possible. If you like more of the dips, order flatbread with three dips for €4.70. A real price breaker. This time also Kabuli Palau; incredibly tasty and fresh. All in all, a cozy, delicious evening with pleasant music. The only downside: I think €8.10 for a carafe of still water is exorbitant (even if it's a liter) 😉.

Rarely have I eaten such deliciously prepared rice. Without reordering, an additional portion of sauce was placed on the table during the meal. Everything was great.

I had dinner there last year in April 2023 with another person. It was my second time there, last time in the middle of the beer garden in the summer. We didn't really feel welcome and it was only 7:30 p.m. An Afghan restaurant specializing in simple Western European home cooking as we discovered: schnitzel and fries. Maybe it also depends on the audience. We treated ourselves to two of the few Afghan dishes. The lentil soup was bubbling and very sour. Just over it, nice. We politely asked what was going on with it. We were told that this soup is always leavened with vinegar. I couldn't finish it. Then there were the filled dumplings. When we served it smelled similar to the soup and to our surprise the dumplings were filled with the bad dal. The crowning glory came from the cook, probably the innkeeper's father, who sat down at the counter in the dining room and lit a cigarette, then another and went over to the slot machines to play. It was shrouded in the stench of cigarettes. We stayed there for an hour and left again, no, fled. Unpleasant, unappetizing, poor quality, disgusting. I often ask myself why this restaurant doesn't make better use of its spatial qualities and location. Too bad. Except for the beer garden atmosphere, the rest is worth running away from. Of course: if you want beer and schnitzel with fries, you can get it there - in the Afghan Restaurant.

Extremely good Afghan food. Thank God the chef doesn't try to adapt the cuisine to the German palate. 100 percent authentic!!! The chef's son provides the perfect service. Very attentive and friendly. Thank you very much, we felt very comfortable.

The aubergines are a must!! I tried them with balsamti rice and a friend with the Bratkartoffeln. The Bolani was also really good. We accompanied everything with a Urtrunk Bier. Also quite recommendable. We sat outside and in a nice sunny day it was refreshing. The service was good. They could use some music.

In fact, the combination of Afghan dishes on the menu and a selection of sausage salad, Brägele and schnitzel irritated me. Restaurants that combine two cuisines are initially suspicious to me, true to the motto: Shoemaker, stick to your last... The Lindenmatte, however, taught me otherwise: the food was great, the dishes were finely prepared, and the service was exceptionally good. I have rarely received such friendly, courteous and quick service there. In addition, the restaurant is not that crowded and you can have a good conversation. The only minimal point deduction is that I'm always cold in the restaurant or I already know that I have to dress warmly.

I've ordered here many times and will definitely do so again, but they should adjust the packaging because this time they burned holes in the plastic so that all the sauce leaked out. I also had the feeling that the meatballs were stretched with bread rolls. Otherwise top taste. And top service.

Small, cozy restaurant that serves Afghan home cooking. The map is extensive but clear. The service on site is extremely friendly. We felt very comfortable, were very happy with our food and had a very nice evening. In summer there is an outdoor area that is exposed to the sun. In winter it is not open and is sometimes used as a parking space for cars, which makes the place seem a bit unwelcoming at first glance. Don't let this influence you and enjoy the food!

During my last visit to the Lindenmatte I was really excited about the Afghan specialties that were offered here. The food was very nicely seasoned and had a very good aroma and the portions were more than enough for me and my wife. The employees were very polite and responded very well to my special requests. Hello, I placed an order with Lieferando. This was accepted and after waiting for over an hour it was simply canceled and not delivered. I have never encountered such bottomless impudence. Such unreliable restaurants should not be allowed to be listed on Lieferando!!

Personal nett und entgegenkommend, der Chef hingegen sehr schroff und selbstbezogen. Durfte mir lautstark anhören dass es meine Schuld war, dass Lieferando mein Essen mir nicht gebracht hat aber meinen Mitbewohner schon. Und ich mich bei denen beschweren muss und er damit nichts zu tun hat. Noch nie als Kunde so behandelt, wenn ich mein Essen nicht bekommen habe. Verständlich das er wütend ist wenn die Lieferando Fahrer was verchecken, es dann aber am Kunden rauslassen, naja :/

Absolutely fantastic Sunday dinner at Captain's Table at Biggrig Cumbria. Staff very friendly and attentive, meal not only delicious but we'll presented. If you want something reasonably priced and great tasting, Captain's Table is a must.

Katastrophales Erlebnis: Bestellung vergessen, nach 1 Stunde warten und Nachfragen das falsche Essen gebracht, lange auf Rechnung gewartet. Keine Entschuldigung, Chef nicht zu sprechen und Androhung des Hausverweises und Rufen der Polizei. Sohn des Besitzers völlig überfordert

Die Pommes waren innen noch gefroren. Der Besitzer ist leider etwas schroff. Sein Sohn ist allerdings wirklich nett und macht seinen Job sehr gut

Eines der besten Gaststätten/Restaurants in Freiburg. Sehr nettes inhabergeführtes Lokal mit sehr leckeren Speisen, neben europäischen Gerichten runden die afghanischen Speisen die Menükarte sehr gut ab. Das Essen ist immer frisch zubereitet und qualitativ hochwertig. Der Klassiker sind die Bratkartoffeln mit Knobisauce. Eines der schönsten Biergärten in der Stadt. Die Preise sind total studentenfreundlich. Sehr nette Bedienung und ein ganz netter Chef. Eine Institution in Freiburg seit mehr als 30 Jahren!

Sehr leckeres Essen und gute Portionen, besonders die Dall-Suppe und die Auberginencreme. Das Personal auch extrem zuvorkommend: wir wurden gefragt, ob die Portionen passen, ob alles stimmt und ob wir noch was wünschen. Preis-Leistung hat gestimmt. Vielen Dank!

Heute mit einer größeren Gruppe dort gegessen. Obwohl wir schon um 15.15 im Vorfeld die Bestellungen vorab mitgeteilt hatten, sind 2 Leute ohne serviertes Essen wieder gegangen. Das bestellte Essen wurde einfach nicht serviert. Getränke gab es auch nur eine Runde. Da wurden wir nicht nach einem 2.Getränkewunsch gefragt. Die Sitzgelegenheiten draußen waren ok. Das Essen hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Auberginen nach afghanischer Art waren sehr lecker. Das kann ich empfehlen.

Wir haben hier heute zum ersten Mal bestellt, es war sehr gut. Zeit eingehalten, Essen sehr gut und warm angekommen.

Trotz schlechter vorheriger Erfahrung in einer Gruppe von sechs Personen (schlechter Service, falsche Gerichte abenteuerliche Organisation) wollten wir heute der Lindenmatte als Paar noch einmal eine Chance geben... Die Bedienung kannte sich auf der Speisekarte nicht aus, so dass ich als Vegetarierin zunächst einmal das bestellte Essen in der Variante mit Fleisch bekam. Auf meine Reklamation hin kam überraschend schnell der vegetarische Ersatz, was mich sehr gefreut hat - bis ich ungefähr in der Mitte der Mahlzeit plötzlich auf ein Stück Fleisch biss... Wutentbrand brachte ich den Teller zur Theke und erklärte, dass es eine Unverschämtheit sei, mit erste Essen wieder zu bringen, nachdem man die Fleischbrocken entfernt hätte - und dass ich dementsprechend NICHT bereit sei, auch nur irgend etwas dafür zu bezahlen. Zunächst wurde das anscheinend akzeptiert - bis dann wenige Minuten später der Chef vor mir stand, der mir folgendes entgegen schleuderte: ich hätte das Essen ja einfach direkt zurück gehen lassen sollen, sie würden das Fleisch ja nur oben drauf legen... Ich hätte mir die Mahlzeit er schlichen, weil ich sie ja zur Hälfte verzehrt und erst dann reklamiert hätte... So eine Unverschämtheit - ein Laden, in dem ich nicht mehr gewesen sein muss und vor dem man Vegetarier nur abraten kann!

Schöner, gemütlicher Biergarten direkt am Bahnhof Littenweiler. Tolle Auswahl ab Speisen und Getränken: von lokal (Schnitzel. Salate, etc. bis zu orientalisch/afghanisch.

Sehr guter und sehr zuvorkommender Service. Sehr authentische afghanische Küche die sehr lecker geschmeckt hat. Dazu alternativ auch deutsch Klassiker wie Wurstsalat, Schnitzeln ist Rumpsteak. Wie waren absolut zufrieden und kommen garantiert wieder. Gerade bei schönem Wetter sitzt man draußen traumhaft im Biergarten.

Wir hatten bislang noch nie afghanische gegessen und waren komplett begeistert. Dazu super freundlicher Service, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt, besser geht's nicht.

Fremde Stadt, Mitte der Woche, spät am Abend (nach 20 Uhr) wollten wir was warmes essen also mal hin. Da es bis 22 Uhr auf ist, waren wir froh das man uns mit lächeln im Gesicht und öffnen Armen empangen hat (manchmal hat man uns die Tür gezeigt) Da ich noch nichts afganisches probiert habe, kann zum Essen nichts sagen. Sah appetitlich aus, hat mir geschmeckt und für mich war es viel zu viel. Bedienung war sehr freundlich, Preise ok. Meine Meinung nach schöne Ambiente. Ich hatte Afghanische Hähnchenschenkel

Im Ortsteil Littenweiler, nahe dem Bahnhof Freiburg-Littenweiler, nahe dem Waldsee und der PH Freiburg befindet sich das Lokal mit grosser Gartenterrasse. Die richtige Zeit ab 17:30 Uhr, und der richtige Ort, um die letzten Sonnenstrahlen im Spätsommer und die Bratkartoffeln mit KNOBI zu geniessen. Wir treffen uns gerne nach einer Bike-Tour in der Lindenmatte, freundliches Personal, und lassen den Abend mit einem Radler ausklingen.

Waren letztens mit einer grösseren Gruppe dort afghanisch Essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und mit Liebe angerichtet. Die Preise sind top und der Besitzer hat - Trotz Corona - nicht erhöht. Bedienung nett und aufmerksam, Essen hat geschmeckt, Ambiente im Garten super gemütlich und angenehm. Was will man mehr? Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Also ich war mit kollegen im Oktober 2019 in der Lindenmatte und ich muss sagen dass die Afghanische Küche einfach eine unglaublich leckere Küche ist. Die Auberginen mit Reis waren der Hammer wie auch der Spinat mit Reis und noch etwas (heißt sabsi djalau auf afghanisch). Ich kann nur solche Restaurants nur weiter empfehlen. Der Chef hat uns auch gesagt Wenn wir noch mehr Afghanisch essen wollen sollten wir auch mal das Restaurant magellan Abchecken. Wir kommen wieder und sicher auch beim Restaurnat magellan.

Uns wurde das Restaurant Lindenmatte für unseren Besuch in Freiburg empfohlen. Und wir können die Empfehlung nur bestätigen. Sehr angenehmes Ambiente, sehr freundliches Personal und klasse Essen. Das Restaurant bietet einen Mix aus lokalen Speisen und afghanischer Küche an. Geht nicht? Geht wohl! Wir haben uns für afghanische Gerichte entschieden. Sehr angenehm gewürzt und wohlschmeckend. Die Suppen, z.B. Dall - afghanische Erbsensuppe, sind ein Gedicht und genauso zu empfehlen wie die Bratkartoffeln mit Knoblauchsoße. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch sind wir wieder hier. Übrigens, auch das Freiburger Bier (Ganter) schmeckt klasse.

Zufällig sind wir mit drei Familien im Gasthaus Lindenmatte gelandet. Alle -auch die Kinder- wurden in der abwechslungsreichen Karte von gut-bürgerlich bis afghanisch schnell fündig. Alle Gerichte,von Käsespätzle über Salate bis zu den afghanischen Spezialitäten, waren von sehr guter Qualität. Jedes Gericht wartete mit faszinierenden Finessen und Aromen auf. Die afghanischen Gerichte glichen einem Feuerwerk der Aromen, aber selbst die frittierten Bratkartoffeln mit einem Knoblauch-Kräuterdip konnten begeistern. Zum guten Schluss müssen wir auf das exzellente Preisleistungsverhältnis hinweisen. Wir kommen wieder!

Dürfte bei schönem Sonnenuntergang auf der Terrasse ein schönes afghanisches Gericht genießen, ein „Sabsi Djalau“. Frischer Spinat mit Basmatireis und Putenfleisch. Gut abgeschmeckt, sehr orientalisch, wie es sich gehört. Übersichtliche Karte leider auch mit Spaghetti und Panierten Schnitzeln. Etwas merkwürdig aber wem‘s gefällt beim Afghanen sowas zu bestellen bitte. Nette Bedienung und für den schönen Rahmen, das angenehme Ambiente und die Qualität der Speisen sehr günstig. Empfehlenswert auf jeden Fall.

Das Essen ist leider nur durchschnittlich. Nichts besonderes. Der Kellner hat leider nicht die besten Manieren läuft krank mit Rotznase im Gastraum rum die er auch noch ständig hochzieht. Unser Angebot mit einem Taschentuch hat er ausgeschlagen. Insgesamt ist der Service unachtsam und eher auf die eigenen Raucherpausen als auf die Gäste bedacht. Was dem Fass aber den Boden ausschlägt ist das die Umsätze weder in der Kasse eingebucht werden noch versteuert werden. Auf nachfragen haben wir mal wider nur einen handgeschrieben Zettel bekommen. Mittlerweile machen wir unsere Freunde und Nachbarn einen großen Bogen um die Lindenmatt, setzen uns lieber ins Auto und fahren ein paar Kilometer obwohl wir nur eine Straße weiter wohnen.

The restaurant itself looked welcoming and since we saw many people watching the World Cup game there, we decided to give it a try. I guess watching the game and having a beer would've been good, but we made the mistake of ordering food. The menu is all over the place, from German dishes to Italian to Afghani food. Finally decided to go for pasta, since it seemed to be a safer bet, but it ended up having tzatziki on the top as, I guess, decoration? Very strange flavors that seem to come from the fact that the place offers a German-Afghan fusion of some sort. Nevertheless, food didn't work well for us. Unfortunately wouldn't go back there even if I wanted Afghani food because a plate of basmati rice with veggies on the side cost around 13-14 dollars. Insane.
