First time here. It was very nice and beautiful. Definitely not the last time.

The Lindengarten restaurant, with its Croatian delicacies, is a complete success, and its international dishes are equally impressive. The freshness of the food and the service are particularly noteworthy. Whether you're a couple or a family, everything is perfect. There's nothing to complain about here; just come in, enjoy, and have a wonderful evening.

The food is amazing! The ambiance is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The staff is very friendly. What's also very important to us is that the chairs were very comfortable and invited us to linger.

We decided to try Lindengarten today based on its 4.8-star rating. A 4.8 rating is practically unattainable under normal circumstances. Now that we've been there, I can't understand why it doesn't average 5 stars. We were all more than satisfied with the atmosphere, the food, the prices, and especially the staff. In short, it was the perfect restaurant experience. And it certainly won't be our last. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Superbly delicious food. Since we couldn't decide, they put together a fish platter for us. Palačinke for dessert rounded off the culinary experience. Very good and attentive service, a well-kept beer garden, and an attractive interior. We'll be back.

A personal and friendly welcome, very helpful in choosing a seat for my wheelchair. Individual requests were accommodated, the food was appetizingly presented and tasted excellent. The wait time was reasonable. The room is well-organized, tastefully decorated, and exudes a sense of calm and warmth. The three of us felt very welcome, the service was very attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We went there for the first time and also had a voucher book, a combination that doesn't go down well in many restaurants. But here it was completely different. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table in a friendly manner. The service was extremely attentive. It was packed, but the staff kept an eye on everyone, so that you felt completely at home. The atmosphere is cozy and the chairs are comfortable. It really is very good. The meat is tender and juicy, the fries are crispy, the rice is cooked to perfection, the salad is crisp and fresh with a great dressing. A fantastic evening; we have recommended the restaurant to others on several occasions.

Very nice restaurant! The atmosphere is really chic. You can feel the attention to detail! Sitting on the terrace is very good. Pleasant atmosphere. The wine was good. The food wasn't a culinary highlight but it was delicious. Down to earth. Price-performance ok. I thought it was nice that we were allowed to have a glass of wine on the house as a farewell. Nice restaurant. The staff is very friendly. Some of the food was a little too salty. The salmon, as it says on the menu with asparagus, was more like salmon trout. But it tasted good.

We were there on Saturday last week and had a meeting of our old football departments. The food was really very tasty and well prepared. I had medallion pork with pepper sauce with croquettes and a side salad. The service, although very busy, was very good as always. The warm service contributed to the good atmosphere. It's just a long-standing family business...

We would have liked to eat there and had booked a table in good time. Unfortunately our table wasn't free when we arrived. Instead of making any decision, we were simply left standing in the entrance. No drink nothing was offered. After half an hour we left. It was clear that our table would not be free; the guests there were still ordering themselves and celebrating. A huge disappointment for us and certainly not pleasant for the other people at the table either

One of the best restaurants I have visited in Gelsenkirchen for a long time. The ambience was very appealing and cozy, the service was exceptionally friendly and the food was a real delight, diverse and exceptional. We were there for a funeral service; the ambiance was very good, and the service was rather mediocre. But having to pay a flat rate of €25 per person for less than three half rolls per person, a "small" piece of cake (a frozen cake from Pfalzgraf), and tea/coffee is definitely overpriced. I get exactly the same service at Schloss Berge for €20, and if you go there with 40 people, that's a price difference of €200. At a table with six people, there were only ten half rolls, and after two hours, they only asked if they could bring more rolls, which was not acceptable. Coke or similar drinks had to be paid for separately; a 0.33l bottle of Coke cost four euros. Even so, the dishes are too expensive; pasta with salmon and hummus sauce costs around €25.

Once and never again... the owner(?) screams at guests that I would have liked to sink into the ground, I've never experienced anything like that. Pure shame! Then a car was towed because a guest parked in front of a garage. The parking situation is bad there anyway. Food wasn't hot, nothing special in itself. I found the screaming so terrible, I lost my appetite anyway.

November 2021: Really delicious, discovered by chance. Very friendly staff. Decent portions. Asparagus and steaks very tender. Sauces homemade, no ready-made sauce.

We have already eaten in this restaurant twice with a larger group and can recommend it each time. The service was top, the atmosphere was totally relaxed and you really felt welcome. The food is very tasty, beautifully presented and fairly priced. A visit is worth it!

Ich habe meinen Besuch im Restaurant Lindengarten sehr genossen und das war schon mein zweites Mal und schon beim ersten Mal hatte es mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und lecker aber was meine Erwartungen übertroffen hat war wertschätzender Umgang mit den Gästen und ich fühlte mich da sehr wohl . Das Restaurant war besonders schön eingerichtet weil es kurz vor Weihnachten war.

No, these aren't free stars, I travel too much and often eat in restaurants that don't deserve the name. As an old Gelsenkirchen resident, I have often wanted to go here with my family. Unfortunately, the only thing that hindered us was the parking situation. But now, in the late afternoon, we were alone in the restaurant. Not only did the hostess give us a friendly welcome, but we were also impressed by the really beautiful atmosphere. To make it a little shorter, the food was perfect, as was the hostess' feeling to ask if everything was right. Since I am now a private animal and will have a little more time in the future, we will be pampering ourselves here more often in the future and look forward to the extensive menu. PS, it's a shame that it didn't work out with the fresh chanterelles, I'm looking forward to the next time too :-)

The funny Bosniak was great. Prices have risen everywhere and are therefore ok in comparison. I like the ambience. Dogs are allowed and are immediately provided with water. The service is excellent.

We have been regular guests at Lindengarten, one of our absolute favorite restaurants, for over 3 years now. From the food to the service, everything is always great, especially the boss. Here you feel incredibly welcome and well looked after.

Unfortunately our fries were very heavily salted! I had to wait longer for a drink refill! But everyone was very friendly and the meat was delicious!

We ate outside on a summer evening and enjoyed the lovely ambience. The restaurant wasn't full and we were able to chat comfortably. Unfortunately we waited 30 minutes for the menus and received the food an hour later. The menu offers Yugoslavian dishes as well as schnitzel. Rather unsuitable for vegetarians. The toilets are clean but slightly scented. Parking spaces are available but limited. Dogs are allowed

Where better to celebrate your linden wedding (31 years) than in the Lindengarten Buer, the ambience in the Mediterranean beer garden is very cozy! The staff is very friendly and accommodating - as befits our status, we ate the Lindengarten grill plate for two people and were very satisfied and full! The food leaves nothing to be desired! We'll definitely be back

We had dinner there on Monday evening, it was a good thing we made a reservation, it was very busy. We sat outside and it really felt like a vacation. All tables occupied, several large parties, but the food was still very good. 👍👍The steak was amazing and the staff was just great, despite the stress. I (we) will be back. My wife and I had dinner with you today for the third Saturday in a row and it was excellent again. You really can't do it better. The food and service, whether in the garden or indoors, is always first class. We would like to thank you very much for that!

After a long break we finally returned to the linden garden. We were 4 people with 4 different dishes and everything was perfect. From the greeting to the farewell, we were served in a friendly manner and the waiter always had a funny saying ready. The beer garden was very well attended and yet there was no “abnormal” waiting time for drinks or food. We can recommend the Lindengarten with a clear conscience and will of course come back.

We were at Lindengarten Essen again today and everything was great, as always. The boss was friendly, the food was great, we were all full! The waiter is always nice too. We went by bike and there is enough parking space for many bikes.

Were there for a birthday, the restaurant is really nice, unfortunately the boss is very prickly, unfriendly and not particularly child-friendly. You didn't feel welcome/comfortable from the start. The waiter was very nice and friendly. Definitely not recommended for families with children!!!!!

Were very friendly. Very well maintained and modernly furnished. But unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right at all. For a sticky pancake with purchased chocolate sauce and a bit of ice cream €11.50!? Fries not crispy, side salad looked nice, but whole leaves with stems and the dressing: well, room for improvement. For me the fillet steak was medium rare and not medium rare. I've often eaten better for much less money.

It was a successful evening in a pleasant atmosphere. The entire area with beer garden and restaurant appears valuable and well thought out. Everything, including the toilet area, was clean and well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and tasty. The portions also suit a large appetite. My personal highlights were the Ćevapčići and Pljeskavica. We'd love to come back!

Very warm family business. Beautiful and well-kept outdoor terrace that offers plenty of shade in summer. The ambience inside also invites you to linger. I wasn't even disappointed with the food. For me the best fillet steak I've had in a long time!!!

I think 6 or 7 cevapcici with fries and a blob of rice for €17 is excessive. They were also hard and tough. Then I asked myself, why do you put the schnitzel on the sauce? Very strange. Maybe so that you can't see that you can count the mushrooms in the sauce? For this price I expect a lot more, otherwise a good snack can do it much better. The tone with or among the employees was not acceptable. We had to wait quite a long time for drinks and I'm used to getting the salad as a starter and not at the same time as the main course. If it were an ordinary snack bar you could live with it, but different standards apply here. There won't be a next time.

Had dinner with 14 people. Were served personally by the boss (unfriendliness personified) completely overwhelmed with his job. The female staff was top. The portions have shrunk considerably compared to the previous year and the prices have increased in return. All 14 people are of the opinion “not again and not recommended”. There are other restaurants with better service and value for money.

The media should report on this restaurant, everything was just great! The food arrived early and was very tasty, the meat was grilled precisely and juicy. The side dishes were warm and tasty, the dessert was simple with a Balkan specialty (Palačinka) that was simply fabulous. The atmosphere is very pleasant and family-friendly and the beer garden is just wow! I can only say one thing about the service: Sascha is and remains the best waiter I have ever met, always nice and helpful, professional, fast and made the whole visit a real experience. We'll definitely be back!!!
