Super clean restaurant with delicious, high quality food, very nice atmosphere

We would have liked to eat there and had booked a table in good time. Unfortunately our table wasn't free when we arrived. Instead of making any decision, we were simply left standing in the entrance. No drink nothing was offered. After half an hour we left. It was clear that our table would not be free; the guests there were still ordering themselves and celebrating. A huge disappointment for us and certainly not pleasant for the other people at the table either

One of the best restaurants I have visited in Gelsenkirchen for a long time. The ambience was very appealing and cozy, the service was exceptionally friendly and the food was a real delight, diverse and exceptional. I will definitely visit this restaurant again and recommend it to others! Just great!

We were there to hold a funeral service, the ambience was very good and the service was rather mediocre. But that for less than three half rolls per person and a “small” piece of cake (frozen cake from Pfalzgraf), tea/coffee a flat rate of €25 p.p. Having to pay is definitely overpriced. I get exactly the same service at Schloss Berge for €20 and if you go there with 40 people, that's a price difference of €200. At a table with six people there were only ten half rolls and after 2 hours they asked if they should bring more rolls, that was not okay. Cola or something similar had to be paid for separately; a 0.33l bottle of cola cost four euros Even so, the dishes are too expensive, pasta with salmon and humer sauce costs around €25

Once and never again... the owner(?) screams at guests that I would have liked to sink into the ground, I've never experienced anything like that. Pure shame! Then a car was towed because a guest parked in front of a garage. The parking situation is bad there anyway. Food wasn't hot, nothing special in itself. I found the screaming so terrible, I lost my appetite anyway.

January 2025: been there again after a long time. Great food, great drinks and very friendly staff. Clean sanitary facilities. Some prices are at the upper limit. November 2021: Really delicious, discovered by chance. Very friendly staff. Decent portions. Asparagus and steaks very tender. Sauces homemade, no ready-made sauce.

We have already eaten in this restaurant twice with a larger group and can recommend it each time. The service was top, the atmosphere was totally relaxed and you really felt welcome. The food is very tasty, beautifully presented and fairly priced. A visit is worth it!

Ich habe meinen Besuch im Restaurant Lindengarten sehr genossen und das war schon mein zweites Mal und schon beim ersten Mal hatte es mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und lecker aber was meine Erwartungen übertroffen hat war wertschätzender Umgang mit den Gästen und ich fühlte mich da sehr wohl . Das Restaurant war besonders schön eingerichtet weil es kurz vor Weihnachten war.

An absolutely recommended restaurant! The dishes are incredibly tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The service is quick, so you don't have to wait long. A great address for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a relaxed environment. I'd love to come back!

I can't judge, even though 12 people reserved a table, after half an hour we still didn't get a table. We left the restaurant and had a delicious meal somewhere else.

No, these aren't free stars, I travel too much and often eat in restaurants that don't deserve the name. As an old Gelsenkirchen resident, I have often wanted to go here with my family. Unfortunately, the only thing that hindered us was the parking situation. But now, in the late afternoon, we were alone in the restaurant. Not only did the hostess give us a friendly welcome, but we were also impressed by the really beautiful atmosphere. To make it a little shorter, the food was perfect, as was the hostess' feeling to ask if everything was right. Since I am now a private animal and will have a little more time in the future, we will be pampering ourselves here more often in the future and look forward to the extensive menu. PS, it's a shame that it didn't work out with the fresh chanterelles, I'm looking forward to the next time too :-)

If you want a nice evening with very good food and great service in a cozy restaurant, you should definitely go to the Lindengarten 👌🏾

The funny Bosniak was great. Prices have risen everywhere and are therefore ok in comparison. I like the ambience. Dogs are allowed and are immediately provided with water. The service is excellent.

We have been regular guests at Lindengarten, one of our absolute favorite restaurants, for over 3 years now. From the food to the service, everything is always great, especially the boss. Here you feel incredibly welcome and well looked after.

Unfortunately our fries were very heavily salted! I had to wait longer for a drink refill! But everyone was very friendly and the meat was delicious!

We ate outside on a summer evening and enjoyed the lovely ambience. The restaurant wasn't full and we were able to chat comfortably. Unfortunately we waited 30 minutes for the menus and received the food an hour later. The menu offers Yugoslavian dishes as well as schnitzel. Rather unsuitable for vegetarians. The toilets are clean but slightly scented. Parking spaces are available but limited. Dogs are allowed

We had dinner there on Monday evening, it was a good thing we made a reservation, it was very busy. We sat outside and it really felt like a vacation. All tables occupied, several large parties, but the food was still very good. 👍👍The steak was amazing and the staff was just great, despite the stress. I (we) will be back. Where better to celebrate your linden wedding (31 years) than in the Lindengarten Buer, the ambience in the Mediterranean beer garden is very cozy! The staff is very friendly and accommodating - as befits our status, we ate the Lindengarten grill plate for two people and were very satisfied and full! The food leaves nothing to be desired! We'll definitely be back

We only came across this hidden restaurant by chance. Very good food, in a very nice beer garden with extremely friendly service. Not a cheap Jakob, but the price-performance ratio is right. Really recommended. We were definitely not in the “Lindengarten” for the last time.

My wife and I had dinner with you today for the third Saturday in a row and it was excellent again. You really can't do it better. The food and service, whether in the garden or indoors, is always first class. We would like to thank you very much for that!

After a long break we finally returned to the linden garden. We were 4 people with 4 different dishes and everything was perfect. From the greeting to the farewell, we were served in a friendly manner and the waiter always had a funny saying ready. The beer garden was very well attended and yet there was no “abnormal” waiting time for drinks or food. We can recommend the Lindengarten with a clear conscience and will of course come back.

We were at Lindengarten Essen again today and everything was great, as always. The boss was friendly, the food was great, we were all full! The waiter is always nice too. We went by bike and there is enough parking space for many bikes.

Were there for a birthday, the restaurant is really nice, unfortunately the boss is very prickly, unfriendly and not particularly child-friendly. You didn't feel welcome/comfortable from the start. The waiter was very nice and friendly. Definitely not recommended for families with children!!!!!

Were very friendly. Very well maintained and modernly furnished. But unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right at all. For a sticky pancake with purchased chocolate sauce and a bit of ice cream €11.50!? Fries not crispy, side salad looked nice, but whole leaves with stems and the dressing: well, room for improvement. For me the fillet steak was medium rare and not medium rare. I've often eaten better for much less money.

It was a successful evening in a pleasant atmosphere. The entire area with beer garden and restaurant appears valuable and well thought out. Everything, including the toilet area, was clean and well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and tasty. The portions also suit a large appetite. My personal highlights were the Ćevapčići and Pljeskavica. We'd love to come back!

Very warm family business. Beautiful and well-kept outdoor terrace that offers plenty of shade in summer. The ambience inside also invites you to linger. I wasn't even disappointed with the food. For me the best fillet steak I've had in a long time!!!

I think 6 or 7 cevapcici with fries and a blob of rice for €17 is excessive. They were also hard and tough. Then I asked myself, why do you put the schnitzel on the sauce? Very strange. Maybe so that you can't see that you can count the mushrooms in the sauce? For this price I expect a lot more, otherwise a good snack can do it much better. The tone with or among the employees was not acceptable. We had to wait quite a long time for drinks and I'm used to getting the salad as a starter and not at the same time as the main course. If it were an ordinary snack bar you could live with it, but different standards apply here. There won't be a next time.

Had dinner with 14 people. Were served personally by the boss (unfriendliness personified) completely overwhelmed with his job. The female staff was top. The portions have shrunk considerably compared to the previous year and the prices have increased in return. All 14 people are of the opinion “not again and not recommended”. There are other restaurants with better service and value for money.

A small hidden restaurant with a beer garden. Great ambience, nice staff and really good food. It wasn't the last time there. Can just be recommended

The media should report on this restaurant, everything was just great! The food arrived early and was very tasty, the meat was grilled precisely and juicy. The side dishes were warm and tasty, the dessert was simple with a Balkan specialty (Palačinka) that was simply fabulous. The atmosphere is very pleasant and family-friendly and the beer garden is just wow! I can only say one thing about the service: Sascha is and remains the best waiter I have ever met, always nice and helpful, professional, fast and made the whole visit a real experience. We'll definitely be back!!!

The quality of the restaurant is good, but it is quite noisy. I don't think the beer garden is nice because it's just a concrete terrace.

Even on my third visit to the Lindengarten restaurant I can only say: everything was great! You immediately feel at home. The ambience, the service and the food are worth 5 stars for me! I'm already looking forward to the beer garden in the summer...

Sehr schönes Restaurant, man kann drin und draußen sitzen, da ein schöner Aussenbereich vorhanden ist. Die Speisekarte bietet viel. Eine Kinderkarte ist auch vorhanden. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren reichlich. Der Service war auch sehr freundlich und hat für gute Laune gesorgt. Die Preise gehen in Ordnung. Alles war super!

Sehr nettes Personal, freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen ist hervorragend zubereitet und wird ansprechend auf vorgewärmten Platten serviert. Soßen werden getrennt in Soßieren an den Tisch gebracht. Die Tische sind geschmackvoll eingedeckt und auf den Stühlen kann man sehr bequem sitzen. Im Restaurant sind Hunde erlaubt. Der angrenzende Biergarten sieht auch einladend aus, diesen werden wir im nächsten Sommer mal erkunden. Einige Parkplätze befinden sich direkt vor dem Biergarten. Alles in allem war der Abend toll.

Kommen immer wieder wegen der leckeren und köstlichen Speisen und des netten Personals hierhet. Sind auch am 3. Januar wieder mit 14 Personen dabei und freuenn uns darauf.

Schönes Restaurant mit einer guten Küche. Service ist immer freundlich. Das Restaurant ist sehr schon eingerichtet und für den Sommer gibt es einen wunderschönen Biergarten. Etwas versteckt gelegen, daher aber auch ruhig.

Zum wiederholten Male einen super gemütlichen Abend dort verbracht. Super Service, absolut leckeres Essen und alles rundherum war ein Erlebnis. Endlich mal wieder Gastronomen die ihren Job leben….

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort. Super nettes sympathisches Lokal. Betreiber sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Essen und Service super. Kommen gerne wieder und werden es auch weiterempfehlen.

Tolle Atmosphäre und Gastgeber die den Namen noch verdienen. Dazu dann noch gute Küche mit leckeren Produkten.

Wir waren zu Beerdigungskaffee/Frühstück mit 70 Personen vor Ort. Ein hervorragendes Frühstück mit frischen Brötchen, Wurst/Käseplatten und Rührei. Alles war von bester und feinster Qualität. Das Personal war sehr umsichtig. Es wurde stets nachgereicht. Von uns bekommt der Lindengarten für einen ausgezeichneten Service und die Professionalität. Großes Lob an die Inhaberin und das Personal.

Eins der besten Restaurants in denen ich je gegessen habe. Das Personal ist total sympathisch, immer freundlich und macht einen richtig guten Job. Niemals leere Gläser, alle bekommen ihr Essen zeitgleich, es fehlt nie etwas, top Beratung wenn man sich nicht entscheiden kann. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Egal was ich bisher hier gegessen habe, es war immer richtig lecker. Kompliment an die Küche, ihr seid einfach der Wahnsinn was ihr alles tolles zubereitet. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne vorbei, bis zum nächsten Mal ;)

Ein etwas auf dem ersten Blick abseits gelegenes Restaurant. Wir fanden sowohl einen geschmackvoll eingerichteten Biergarten sowie ein tolles Restaurant. Das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Speisen haben hervorragend geschmeckt (Balkanstil) und das Preisleistungsverhältnis kann sich sehen lassen. Man erkennt die Handschrift der liebenswerten Inhaberin "Drazi".

Ich bin schockiert was ich an diesem Abend in diesem Restaurant erlebt habe. Ich bin noch nie aus einem Lokal raus gebeten worden und auch noch nie rassistisch beschimpft worden nur weil ich mit einem Gutschein bezahlt habe

Das Essen ist reichhaltig und gut. Die Preise für die Suppen, Getränke und Gerichte sind angemessen und nicht überteuert. Außer der Preis für den Nachtisch mit €5,20 ist nicht ok. Ein viertel Waffel mit einem Klecks Sahne und einer kleinen Kugel Vanilleeis. Freundliche Bedienung, saubere Toiletten, sauberer Gastraum. Kostenlose Parkplätze

Wir waren heute mit 6 Personen im Lindengarten essen. Der Außenbereich ist mit großen Sonnenschirmen und Gartenmöbeln sehr schön gestaltet. Auch innen hat das Restaurant ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Essen ist zu empfehlen. Es war ein rundum gelungener Abend.

Jolly, friendly service. They were busy but left us to our own devices. Ate the sausage tasting platter and drank good wine. Perhaps not enough food for two with the sausages- should have ordered a side or something. Tasty puddings. Ended up having to share the booth for 4 with another diner, which was fun but obviously not for some. Highlight for us was a noisy family wanting the Wi-Fi code to make the evening worse for the rest of us. Waiter told them they could try talking to each other instead!
