There was a bald waiter that is racist. Made us moved to a smaller table but gave other European customers (of 2 pax) a larger table. (We were a party of 2 Adults + 1 toddler) Told us that there isn’t any baby chair available but saw that they gave another European table a baby chair. Threw the menu at us. In this day and age, how can there still be racism.. definitely not worth the experience.

MOST RACIST WAITRESS works here. Had an unfortunate experience where the waitress insisted she had given us(6 Adults, 3 toddlers) a water bottle, which we hadn’t received. She then insisted on checking our bags that felt targeted based on skin color. Would be very CAUTIOUS next time. Disappointed with the handling and lack of consideration. Work ethics next to zero I wonder how they survive. VISIT WITH CAUTION.

A very original, cozy restaurant. Unfortunately, the food and service are a bit gray, but it wasn't bad anyway.

Trust me guys its the worst cafe ever. Tourists dont waste ur time going to this restaurant. You will be treated so rudely and you will be made to sit in the front of the restaurant where literally the waiter comes to ask what you wanna order aftr 30-40 min. And inside if u go its all fun germal music and i saw knly germans sitting there enjoying thr drinks. Total racism experience it was. Btw the food is the highlight. Total waste of spending so much fir this cafe food. Never get the black forest cake.. seems like its old cake no freshness were there and total let down experience.

This is conveniently located next to the Triberg Waterfalls. We sat outside in a cute but large patio. Food was fine. Service was 'slower' but we were not in America so all is good. I liked the Black Forest cake and the Rothhaus Pils

If I read the reviews, they don't catch me there. To begin with, we were served by a very unfriendly waiter. They are not prepared for tourism. Then I got carried away by the fact that they say that the best cake in the Black Forest was there, not at all, worse cake I have never been able to taste in my life. And I understand a lot about cakes. The dry sponge cake, four cherries with jam that tasted like nothing to me and the rest was all flavorless whipped cream. Seriously, don't waste your time going there to try it. And to finish the price, very expensive 5.50 a piece. Eating there we didn't eat so I can't comment on that. To the owner of the establishment, I would recommend that he change his staff and that they be more professional and pleasant to the diners. I'll leave it there.... A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT.

Het is een gezellig en druk terras om te zitten (we zijn niet binnen geweest), vlakbij de watervallen. Het eten is niet bijzonder, wel lekker. (Schnitzel met friet). Wel apart dat je er geen groente of sausje bij krijgt. Ook bijzonder, je moet betalen voor als je meer bestel bijvoorbeeld wilt. (Dus je kleine kind mag niet zelf met een vork wat van jou mee eten). Personeel is niet leuk. Niet snel en niet vrolijk. Het lijkt of ze de taal niet helemaal machtig zijn of ze hebben geen gevoel voor gastvrijheid en contacten met gasten.

The place was cute although the tables and chairs were old and so much used, they need to be changed urgently. The food was nothing special, it wasn‘t prepared with much care, it was so basic as if it were cooked by a student at home, but at least we didn‘t have any gastrointestinal problems afterwards, as it usually happens at such touristic places. The waiters were really kind and helpful. Something else that irritated me was that they don’t accept any payment with a visa card, but they do accept payments with other cards. That‘s not client-friendly, is it? The prices were pretty high for this low food quality.

For 4 people we were not served at the table at the same time (almost 30 minutes of waiting between the first person served and the last) plus two servers made fun of an elderly person. Does not accept payment by credit card.

The Black Forest was good, but the service was terrible. Endless, unjustified waiting, even when you call on the staff several times, who ignore you. When someone finally deigns to take care of you, it borders on rudeness! Move on and look elsewhere...

The food was Jägerschnitzel with spaetzle and the only good thing was that the schnitzel was made from normal meat. The spaetzle was noodles. When serving, the waiter shouted in my ear because he had to shout something to other guests. Otherwise the service was just sufficient. The ambience is mediocre at best. The price-performance ratio is not okay. There is no effort here because of the many tourists. I can definitely not recommend the restaurant.

The best restaurant in the Black Forest. Familiar trade. The knuckle and the Snitzel are very good. The most delicious cake in the Black Forest. Right next to the Triberg Falls.

The worst food and service ever. The waitress was unfriendly and rude. We understand she was busy, but weren’t we just by the waterfalls? And was that really our fault? If you have never tried German food, please do not eat here, otherwise you will never try it again and it can be delicious. If we can say one good thing is that the owner was kind. We stopped to eat a slice of black forest. A treat soaked in kirsch. Generous share. Very good beer...and the coke on tap mmmmm. The problem is the mr who only speaks German and very poor complicated English to make himself understood but otherwise for a perfect snack

Breakfast plate of meat and cheese already on our table with flies and not covered ! Other breakfast items also on table, we refused to eat it and was then offered a miserable tiny omelette , we wouldn’t eat any meals there as hygiene is questionable !

We came upon recommendation from our travel guide. We specified that one was allergic to lactose and we were brought a vegan salad with milk sauce and pure potatoes. Had it changed but instead of the olives a plumber's rubber gasket arrives. No explanation from the staff. .......

Esperienza deludente, classica trappola per turisti. Già solo per il fatto che un ristorante nel 2024 non accetti carta di credito fa capire di cosa stiamo parlando, facile intuire le motivazioni di questa scelta!! Fuori hanno gli adesivi di tutte le carte possibili, per poi dire all'interno che accettano solo contanti. Mi hanno costretto a prelevare fuori in un atm eccessivamente oneroso, per poi dovermi fare i conti di quello che prendevo per non superare il budget che avevo prelevato. Il prezzo dell'acqua non era indicato nel menu, ho scoperto dopo che 0,75cl di acqua costavano 7,50 euro!!! A parte questo, i cibi precotti, riscaldati al momento col microonde, fatti pagare come un ristorante vero, assurdo!qualita pessima, la panatura del pollo completamente staccata dal pollo, chiaramente cotta almeno 2 volte e per giunta in modo errato, un ragazzino dell'alberghiero lo saprebbe cucinare molto meglio. La location carina, ed è stata solo l'unica cosa che mi ha convinto ad entrare. Mai più!! Anzi, lo sconsiglio fortemente a chiunque abbia questa intenzione, non sono adatti a fare ristorazione. Che facessero altro, visto anche la quantità di terra coltivata presente nel territorio! Ps. Al pagamento, non mi ha tornato il resto, presupponendo che fosse di mancia... Io allibito.

Ate lunch here. The food was super delicious. We had potato soup, goulash, spaghetti, salad, and black forest cake. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was beautiful. Definitely recommend stopping here after the waterfall 😊

Very slow and indifferent service spoilt a pleasant lunch

This was the highlight of Triberg! My husband and I both agree that it was THE BEST JagerSchnitzel of our lives (and we have had many!) And possibly the best meal of our lives. Staff and management were awesome! Our only dissappointment was we only stayed one night in Triberg because the meals served around us (Pork Hock) looked just as amazing! This restaurant is clean, perfect location, reasonable and the food is beyond delicious!

Black Forest cake with alcohol was not that tasty. I immediately had diarrhea. There was no toilet paper in the toilet. Service was good.

Unlike many others here, we can't say anything negative about the food. Prices are normal for a tourist resort. Our waiter wasn't effusive, but nice and attentive. You can sit comfortably and quietly on the terrace with the sound of the waterfall in the background.

Heerlijk restaurant met vlotte bediening. Hou er rekening mee dat je grote porties krijgt. Meerdere dagen teruggekomen voor het heerlijke eten. Ook fijn om daar met het zonnetje er bij op het terras te zitten naast de waterval.

We didn't eat here. It is comfortable to sit on the terrace, but it is a purely tourist restaurant and has little to do with the Black Forest. If you want a little more of the Black Forest, you should stop by an old inn next door. However, the beer tastes good.

Splendid place, much less food. Friendly staff but watch your bill: they charged us for a portion of uneaten cream and a 750cl bottle of wine. they calculated it as 4 glasses of 250 cl. Eye!

Llegamos tarde pensando que no nos atenderían en ningún sitio, pero fueron muy amables y no hubo ningún problema con el idioma. Las raciones son muy buenas y el precio lo normal por la zona. El local es precioso, muy clásico y decorado con muchos animales disecados.

The outdoor terrace with a view of the waterfall is very nice. Service was short, but okay in general. The raspberry cream cake was good, the portion could have been larger. The apple strudel was very good, the Kaiserschmarrn tasted like it came from the freezer. Recommended for stopping off at coffee time with some reservations.

Food was okay. Service also okay (not very good, but okay). I was able to take a look into the kitchen. When I see someone preparing food in private clothing, it stops me. I don't blame the employee, but rather the restaurant management... they're probably making false savings. But no savings were made on the bill… Overall: we won't be coming back

I'm glad I did not check the reviews before coming into this place, as they probably would have put me off. Of course I can't dismiss negative experiences of other people, but I can share mine and my partner's, which were both positive. Food was very nice, including the cake, and the waiter was friendly and able to provide English service. It's not cheap but in a small touristy town it's the kind of price you come to expect. Good food, good service, and a relaxing atmosphere where you can hear the water flow from the waterfalls.

Die Lage inklusive der Aussicht ist optimal und verführen dort einen zu verweilen. Leider ist das Essen inkl. trinken eine schlechte Qualität. Die Pommes schmeckten labbrig. Die „Originale Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte“ ist nicht original, eher komplett mit Alkohol voll gepumpt. Wir haben ihn übrigens ohne Alkohol bestellt gehabt. Der Radler besteht 90 Prozent aus Wasser. Und zum Schluss, die Kinderstühle waren noch voll mit getrockneten Essens Resten des Vorgängers. Nicht empfehlenswert. Besuch am 14.08.2023

Waren zwei Tage hintereinander am Wochenende dort . Es war immer sehr gut besucht . Bedienung war gut organisiert und sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen war auch sehr gut . Natürlich sind die Preise etwas höher, da im Tourismus - Zentrum und direkt am Eingang zu den Wasserfällen. Kann es absolut weiterempfehlen.

Nourriture tout juste correcte pour le prix, mais service lamentable... Plat oublié, et quand il arrive enfin, le serveur en fait tomber une partie par terre. Pas la moindre excuse, le serveur est parti en jurant et n'a pas ramené la partie manquante. Fait semblant de ne pas vous voir quand vous levez la main...bref, à éviter !

Heel onvriendelijke bediening. Het is te veel moeite dat ze naar je tafel moeten komen. Ook al zien ze dat je wil bestellen toch wachten ze en kijken ze de andere kant uit. Een hammetje bestellen is het eerste uur niet mogelijk omdat een andere klant dat al had besteld 🤔 Het eten zelf was ondermaats. De beenham was heel erg droog en dat zonder saus. Het brood brachten ze toen ons eten bijna op was en zelfs de hond wou het brood niet eten. Hier kom ik niet meer terug! Tschüss!!👋

look the food and drinks are fine here. services okay - but you're here for the location. absolutely gorgeously nested next to the river just before the ascent to the falls. maybe a tourist trap. but if you're looking for a nice spot to sit outside, enjoy a quick bite and fuel up before your hike up. the hill can't beat this spot.

Nous avons mangé dans ce restaurant à 6 lors d'une journée de vacances. Le service était rapide, agréable, aimable et conciliant concernant la langue ! Nous avons très bien mangé, les plats étaient bons et copieux. Nous recommandons ce restaurant si vous passez à Triberg !

La porción de tarta de la selva negra, para emborracharse está bien, no estaba dulce y buena (desconozco si es la original, pero esperaba algo rico). Y dos cafés de sobre. Total 13'40€

Genauso urig habe ich mir im Schwarzwald eine Hütte von innen vorgestellt. Die Schwarzwälderkirschtorte war lecker. Ist ein Besuch wert.

Ich kann die schlechten Bewertungen nicht verstehen! Super leckeres Essen. Klar sind die Preise etwas hoch, aber es liegt auch Touristen nah- Zentral in Trieberg. Zum Schluss gab es noch ein großes Stück Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. Wir sind begeistert.

Wir waren dort heute zum Essen. Ich bin beeindruckt gewesen von dieser traumhaften Location. Es war nicht viel los. Der Kellner hat uns die anderen Speiseräume gezeigt und uns ein bisschen etwas dazu erzählt. Ich finde das super. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das Essen war exzellent und das Preisleistungsverhältniss ist total in Ordnung. Ich kann es jedem empfehlen. 5/5 Sterne ich hätte gern mehr gegeben aber es gibt ja nur 5.
