Schwäbischer Sonntagsbraten so good!

Ich bestellte ein Schweinekotelett mit Pommes. Es sollte angeblich gut sein, aber ich glaube, es war vorgefertigt und tiefgefroren. Das mag sein, aber für jemanden, der nach außergewöhnlichen Aromen sucht, ist das eher Fast Food als leckeres, frisches Essen. Ich habe sogar mitbekommen, wie sich ein anderer Kunde darüber beschwert hat, dass die Schweinekoteletts sehr trocken waren. Vielleicht ist da ja was dran?

Ein sehr schönes altes Wirtshaus. Gemütlich eingerichtet. Jean ist sehr sympathischer,kompetenter Chef. Freundlich. Wir haben egal zu welcher Zeit immer einen Tisch zum essen. Und das essen mit der neuen Speisekarte super lecker 😋.

Ich war begeistert von diesem Restaurant! Die Angestellten waren sehr freundlich. Wir durften mit unseren Hunden rein, um uns vor dem Regen zu schützen. Das Essen war sehr gut, typisch deutsche Küche. Die Portionen waren ausgezeichnet groß. Ich würde und werde hier sicher wieder essen.

Auf Grund der positiven Bewertungen waren wir dort essen und wurden auch nicht enttäuscht. Wir hatten vorab eine Zwiebelsuppe und dann den Bauernteller. Beide Gerichte waren reichlich, das Fleisch war zart, preislich top. Zudem haben wir einige Gerichte gesehen, die an uns vorbei zogen, z.b. Schnitzel mit Fritten, glaube es waren 3 große Schnitzel, und ein Vorspeisenteller mit Käse und Schinken. Das Restaurant ist zu empfehlen und am besten einen Tisch reservieren, denn die Tische waren schlagartig besetzt.

Hervorragendes Essen in einem urigen Ambiente. Eine schöne Auswahl an Speisen und auch leckeres Bier sind hier gegeben. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen vor mir, kann ich sagen, dass man hier sehr wohl mit Karte bezahlen kann. Vielleicht noch nicht so lange, aber es geht! Der Service war sehr freundlich und wir haben und absolut wohl gefühlt. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Top gegessen. Nette Mitarbeiter. Urig innen. Aussen auch unter dem Sonnenschutz auch Plätze. WC im ersten Stock... Kein Aufzug. Kleine... Geschmackvolle... Karte.

Grundsätzlich sehr gut und zentral gelegen. Leider war der Service eher enttäuschend, zunächst zu schnelle und anschl. zu lange Wartezeiten auf Getränkebestellung (>15min) obwohl nicht viel los war, Bestellungen wurden tw. vergessen, Essen wurde einfach auf dem Tisch abgestellt ohne den Gästen zuzuordnen - kenne ich irgendwie aus der Gastronomie anders. Generell war der Umgang eher kühl. Essen war ok für den Preis.

Ein ruhiger Ort, an dem wir hervorragend bedient wurden; die Portionen waren mehr als reichlich und von hoher Qualität. Alle Gerichte der Speisekarte sind für Kinder mit 20 % Ermäßigung erhältlich, was eine sehr nette Geste ist.

Wir sind zufällig auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen, als wir nach einer typischen regionalen Küche suchten, und allein der freundliche Service hat sich schon gelohnt. Das Essen war auch köstlich, daher war es eine hervorragende Wahl. Sehr empfehlenswert.

According to the various reviews, we must have arrived on a bad day, the only restaurant open on a Wednesday... Unfriendly waiter, the food was mediocre and served instantly... no respect for the customer.

I would have given it a minus 100. It's the year 2025, drones, cars, and high-speed trains have been invented, but when you want to eat, you're told, "You can only pay with cash, we don't accept cards." Don't even go in if you don't have cash on you. Ancient times.

Very good restaurant. This is our second time here and we were well served by the same gentleman in April and October. The food is very good, the dishes are tasty and typical of the region. I really like it.

It was very good; we had the grilled platter, cheese spaetzle, and schnitzel. The portions were large and delicious. Unfortunately, no card payments are accepted, but dogs are welcome.

Correct in every way, but not brilliant. Picturesque location, varied menu with translations into several languages, and the food tasted quite good. Important detail: cash only.

There was a person at every table, all smiling broadly. It was a relief to find this place. They served us very well, helped us charge our phones, and the bathrooms were very clean. It must be said.

The service was super friendly. Unfortunately, I found it a bit problematic that they sell Sprite as lemonade, while AfriCola serves regular Coke. We watched them pour it. The food was good. It's okay for the price.

We had a great experience at Wirtshaus Alt-Triberg. The food was very good, with tasty traditional German dishes. The place itself is a bit old-fashioned, but in a charming and welcoming way. The atmosphere feels very family-run, and the staff were kind and friendly, which made the whole experience even nicer. One important note: they only accept cash, so make sure to be prepared. A cozy spot with delicious local food and warm hospitality – definitely worth a visit!

I do not recommend this restaurant at all. They only accept cash. It is shameful that in 2025 they do not allow clients (whole family) to pay the lunch by credit card.

The food was good, but it came 1h30min after ordering, and only after we asked how much longer it would've taken. It was a hot and humid day and the restaurant has no air conditioning, which made the wait even more unbearable. When the food finally came, one dish out of four was even wrong. The staff was kind enough to apologize and the bill was appropriate.

Bad service. Very rude. When we arrived they spoke badly to us, but we were with small children and we were pressed for time. The service was slow and the food was quite fair, although the quantities were generous. When paying they only accepted cash without any previous sign indicating this. You can't tolerate such stupid treatment

They were incredibly kind; despite the crowd and the fact that I was alone, they let me sit at the counter. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly. Although some tourists were rude and pushy, they were always polite and professional.

A restaurant with classic local cuisine. We had dinner here. I liked the food; the portions were large, and the beer was delicious. There was a decent selection of dishes. I should point out that the summer terrace isn't level, with all the tables at an angle. It's a bit odd when plates are moved around during the meal.) Service: You can see that the servers are trying hard, but we noticed that some children get sweets at the end of the meal and others don't. This shouldn't be the case. And overall, it's one of the few places where you can have a tasty meal.

We came in August 2025 for dinner, and ate outside. The dinner was very good and tasty, both for the child (schnitzel and fries) and for the local dish with three types of pure meat and sauerkraut. I would definitely return. The large, varied salads were also good. I would return.

Over all a terrible experience!! The waiter didn't aknowledge pur presence and sited outher people that were in line after us. The wait was very lenghtly and the food didn't meet our expectation. The food was really bad and the waiter was really rude. They didn't allow us to pay by credit card and told us to go to the bank tò get cash.

The service was okay, but payment was cash only. The salad was very disappointing; there were pieces of bone in the ragout. The terrace was in the parking lot, among the cars.

The food was decent, good value for money, the service was pretty average, it took a while, and the atmosphere was average, as there were several tables that were exposed to the sun, which was very uncomfortable.

Very good, lots of choice, worth the trip

They made us wait one hour and told us it was a mistake that we didn’t get our food. We had to ask because the table that came much later than us received their food first. This is unacceptable.

!!! DO NOT VISIT. EXTREMELY RACIST AND RUDE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! We were forced to wait for an hour despite placing our orders, and they served literally all the other white customers before us. We thought the kitchen was overwhelmed and patiently waited, but when we asked when we would be served, the male server immediately cancelled our orders and forced us to make payment. He said they forgot our orders and told us to leave. No apologies at all. No amends were made and he just shoved the bill in our face and said they would not cook for us. I would give 0 stars if I could. Do yourself a favour and avoid this excuse of a restaurant unless you want to be treated inhumanely, there are so many other options in Triberg. All the other low rated reviews about unreasonable and unacceptable service are completely true.

Very tasty food. I had a very good piece of meat, very well cooked, very good sauerkraut, very good Maultaschen (ravioli), and good spaetzle (spaetzle). You should allow yourself some time. It was worth it for the food.

Excellent food at an affordable price. It wasn't busy, so we didn't have to wait long. The waiter was also friendly. They serve authentic Swabian dishes.

This restaurant is a real value for money place.the quality of food is decent and the quantity absolutely satisfying. We ordered snitchel for us and our kids and it was very good. we went on a Sunday and we waited until 5:30pm to open. So have in mind and check the hours before you go.

This was our first choice for lunch. After sitting down and looking through the menu, we noticed a sign stating that card payments were not accepted. We informed the waiter that we didn’t have any cash on us. His response was completely indifferent. His body language clearly communicated, “Too bad for you — leave.” It felt unwelcoming, so we left immediately. Later that day, we visited another Gasthaus that also didn’t accept cards. However, the owner there was understanding and offered alternative solutions. In the end, I’m glad we explored other local spots. They were less touristy, had more welcoming service, and served higher-quality food.

Very friendly service and the food we had was truly excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection. The dated ambiance alone deducts a point. Otherwise, highly recommended. The price/performance ratio is excellent.

My verdict would be "average." The food certainly wasn't bad, good German cuisine like you'd get at any inn. However, the asking price of around €20 per dish simply doesn't do it justice, even considering the location in the heart of Triberg.

Average experience. The place is a sort of pub with cuisine, not exactly touristy but being in a very central area it suffers a bit from the influx of people culinaryly. We stopped during a trip to Triberg and the surrounding area with the desire to eat some sausages. We found them to be very good, different from the Italian/Southern European ones. The potato salad on the side was also very good. They have the custom of serving it cold, like a real salad. If the sausages were very good, I can't think the schnitzel was too. We saw some people take it and, passing between the tables, it had a somewhat "industrial" look, typical of packaged goods. Of course, I'm just assuming this. The price is average for the area. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS

Great atmosphere in a rustic inn We went to this restaurant without any great expectations of getting a seat and were clearly surprised at how delicious the food was and how there was one spot left in a fully occupied restaurant. From the soup to the salad to the cream schnitzel with spaetzle to the snack plate, I can only recommend everything. The rest of the dishes looked very tasty and the portions are more than enough even for a good eater.

Cucina tipica del luogo, molto saporita e allo stesso tempo digeribile. Location semplice, personale gentile e disponibile. Parlano inglese e sono disposti ad accomodare eventuali intolleranze. È disponibile anche un piccolo menù bambini. Consiglio la zuppa con il pancake ( piccola e delicata ) e tutti i piatti a base di carne. Contorni ottimi.

Es war an dem Tag sehr viel los. Trotzdem waren sie alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam schnell und war sehr lecker. Wir hatten Käsespätzle mit Salat (15,50€), Bauernteller (18,50€) und Ragout vom Hirsch (23,50€). Die Getränkepreise (Spezi 3,90€, Saftschorle 4,10€, Weizen 4,30 €, Espresso 2,40€). Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis hat prima gepasst bei der Lage. Alles war sauber.

Amaizing traditional German food. Accesible price and very good and cozy service! The menu it's on german, English and Spanish. The only thing is that's only cash, but like most of the restaurants here.

We walked in and there was a window seat available and an interior table that were exactly the same size-both seated 6 and we were a party of 4. Neither were reserved. We requested the window seat and the gentleman flat out refused. The woman said we could but the gentleman continued to tell the woman no we could not sit in the window. So we left. In a tourist town this is a very bad idea to do to a customer as now you have one star review. You lost out on business and received a bad review on customer service.
