Over all a terrible experience!! The waiter didn't aknowledge pur presence and sited outher people that were in line after us. The wait was very lenghtly and the food didn't meet our expectation. The food was really bad and the waiter was really rude. They didn't allow us to pay by credit card and told us to go to the bank tò get cash.

We came in August 2025 for dinner, and ate outside. The dinner was very good and tasty, both for the child (schnitzel and fries) and for the local dish with three types of pure meat and sauerkraut. I would definitely return. The large, varied salads were also good. I would return.

Family restaurant in Triberg with good service and better value than other restaurants in the area.

The service was okay, but payment was cash only. The salad was very disappointing; there were pieces of bone in the ragout. The terrace was in the parking lot, among the cars.

!!! DO NOT VISIT. EXTREMELY RACIST AND RUDE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! We were forced to wait for an hour despite placing our orders, and they served literally all the other white customers before us. We thought the kitchen was overwhelmed and patiently waited, but when we asked when we would be served, the male server immediately cancelled our orders and forced us to make payment. He said they forgot our orders and told us to leave. No apologies at all. No amends were made and he just shoved the bill in our face and said they would not cook for us. I would give 0 stars if I could. Do yourself a favour and avoid this excuse of a restaurant unless you want to be treated inhumanely, there are so many other options in Triberg. All the other low rated reviews about unreasonable and unacceptable service are completely true.

They made us wait one hour and told us it was a mistake that we didn’t get our food. We had to ask because the table that came much later than us received their food first. This is unacceptable.

Very tasty food. I had a very good piece of meat, very well cooked, very good sauerkraut, very good Maultaschen (ravioli), and good spaetzle (spaetzle). You should allow yourself some time. It was worth it for the food.

Excellent food at an affordable price. It wasn't busy, so we didn't have to wait long. The waiter was also friendly. They serve authentic Swabian dishes.

This restaurant is a real value for money place.the quality of food is decent and the quantity absolutely satisfying. We ordered snitchel for us and our kids and it was very good. we went on a Sunday and we waited until 5:30pm to open. So have in mind and check the hours before you go.

Very friendly service and the food we had was truly excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection. The dated ambiance alone deducts a point. Otherwise, highly recommended. The price/performance ratio is excellent.

This was our first choice for lunch. After sitting down and looking through the menu, we noticed a sign stating that card payments were not accepted. We informed the waiter that we didn’t have any cash on us. His response was completely indifferent. His body language clearly communicated, “Too bad for you — leave.” It felt unwelcoming, so we left immediately. Later that day, we visited another Gasthaus that also didn’t accept cards. However, the owner there was understanding and offered alternative solutions. In the end, I’m glad we explored other local spots. They were less touristy, had more welcoming service, and served higher-quality food.

My verdict would be "average." The food certainly wasn't bad, good German cuisine like you'd get at any inn. However, the asking price of around €20 per dish simply doesn't do it justice, even considering the location in the heart of Triberg.

Average experience. The place is a sort of pub with cuisine, not exactly touristy but being in a very central area it suffers a bit from the influx of people culinaryly. We stopped during a trip to Triberg and the surrounding area with the desire to eat some sausages. We found them to be very good, different from the Italian/Southern European ones. The potato salad on the side was also very good. They have the custom of serving it cold, like a real salad. If the sausages were very good, I can't think the schnitzel was too. We saw some people take it and, passing between the tables, it had a somewhat "industrial" look, typical of packaged goods. Of course, I'm just assuming this. The price is average for the area. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS

Great atmosphere in a rustic inn We went to this restaurant without any great expectations of getting a seat and were clearly surprised at how delicious the food was and how there was one spot left in a fully occupied restaurant. From the soup to the salad to the cream schnitzel with spaetzle to the snack plate, I can only recommend everything. The rest of the dishes looked very tasty and the portions are more than enough even for a good eater.

Amaizing traditional German food. Accesible price and very good and cozy service! The menu it's on german, English and Spanish. The only thing is that's only cash, but like most of the restaurants here.

Es war an dem Tag sehr viel los. Trotzdem waren sie alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen kam schnell und war sehr lecker. Wir hatten Käsespätzle mit Salat (15,50€), Bauernteller (18,50€) und Ragout vom Hirsch (23,50€). Die Getränkepreise (Spezi 3,90€, Saftschorle 4,10€, Weizen 4,30 €, Espresso 2,40€). Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis hat prima gepasst bei der Lage. Alles war sauber.

We walked in and there was a window seat available and an interior table that were exactly the same size-both seated 6 and we were a party of 4. Neither were reserved. We requested the window seat and the gentleman flat out refused. The woman said we could but the gentleman continued to tell the woman no we could not sit in the window. So we left. In a tourist town this is a very bad idea to do to a customer as now you have one star review. You lost out on business and received a bad review on customer service.

The restaurant is located right in the center, fast service, delicious food.

Excellent address serving local specialties with a very good quality/price ratio. The dishes are delicious and very generous. The service was very attentive and efficient, especially with our children who were exhausted after a full day of visiting. We had a great time in this warm, quiet restaurant and ate very well.

Good traditional German Swabian cuisine. Like the noodles best! Nicely cooked and overall not too salty. The mix grill is also awesome and cooked to the right wellness. Our visiting family from 10,000+km away really enjoyed the great food found here! Price is also very reasonable for a tourist spot. Thank you! 🙏

Generous portions for the price. Friendly team and very kind to provide local info but It's a typical budget-friendly restaurant in a touristic area. Don't expect high standards of German food or fresh meat but just frozen stuff to make you full. It's ok for the price and the area but I say this in case you are a tourist trying to have a German culinary experience... 3/5.

Delicious and fresh! We were in Triberg for a day trip and went here based on recommendations. I was unsure at first but ordered the 'fitnesssalad'/turkey salad. It was very tasty, really fresh and nourishing. My partners meal was also good and exactly what he wanted. Thank you!

We were just on a short vacation in Triberg and visited this great restaurant on the first evening. Yes, you have to say the restaurant is a bit old, but that's part of the charm. It was relatively busy and there was only one service person there. However, kudos to him, he was alone but was always polite and the food and drinks still came very quickly. You could hear how the schnitzels were being made. We enjoyed the food very much. We can recommend it

Best food I’ve ever eaten in my life!!!!

It was the only place open (Wednesday 3pm) and it had not stopped raining all day. Seeking some shelter we popped in for some hot food. After settling in we used our trusty lens app to order from the menu, I chose the deer ragu with German local pasta and cranberry my partner the dumplings and tomato soup. My beer arrived and it was very foamy, but my partner's soup had squirty cream which once scooped off was pretty tasty. The portion of the deer ragu was generous and tasty, my partners dish was good but strange to have the cold potato salad on the side . Overall food was pretty good.

When you visit Triberg, this restaurant is a good choice. There are tasty local dishes on the menu. We had the bratwurst and the schnitzel and decided to share it together. We enjoyed both dishes, the quality of which was excellent. Especially when you look at the price of the dishes. The service is also very nice and works quickly. Furthermore, they speak good English. The menu is also available in German, English and French. Very nice!

Wir waren auf der Reise und sahen das Wirtshaus von der Straße aus. Wir hielten und gingen hin. Der Platz ist an der Straße, dort ist viel Verkehr und es ist relativ laut. Jedoch nicht sehr störend. Der Kellner war freundlich und das Essen war für eine deutsche Gaststätte sehr lecker, vor allem der Salat. Alles in allem ein sehr gutes Essen und rundum ein guter Besuch!

They do not accept credit cards. They are quite slow serving (40 minutes to serve the order). The food is good. There isn't much else to choose from in the area.

Varied salad with very tasty turkey and plate of different meats, turkey, pork and sausages. All quite acceptable. Kind.

Our experience has been totally disappointing. We were 4 adults with 4 children and after waiting patiently for 1 hour sitting at the table without being served, we asked if the children's dishes would take a long time. The waiter answered us in a rude manner saying that the restaurant was full and that he had had to close the kitchen because they didn't serve the avast. He booed us and left us speechless. The food was very mediocre. We expected typical dishes to taste the local gastronomy and we were served cold, reheated dishes. The kids spaghetti was cold. Cold, after an hour of waiting! incredible The waiter was so extremely rude and incoherent that we paid and ran away. It's a shame that they don't know how to serve customers professionally and, at the very least, politely and with a smile.

Typisches Touristenziel in einem Touristenort. Service war nicht außergewöhnlich aufmerksam, das Essen war absolut okay. Kinderstühle waren vorhanden, was super war. Es gab auch eine Kinderkarte, ebenfalls klasse! Zahlung ist nur bar möglich, was für manche Nebentische eine böse Überraschung war, sodass die Gästen noch zu den umliegenden Geldautomaten mussten. Das finde ich in 2024 nicht mehr tragbar. Was für ein Umsatz verloren geht, weil ein Tisch länger besetzt bleibt, weil einer vom Tisch erst Geld holen muss… unfassbar. Triberg zieht internationale Touristen an, aber bezahlt werden darf nur bar. Bei uns passte es zum Glück, ich empfehle aber, das zu ändern.

We also listened to the rave reviews and were looking forward to the visit. What we experienced was a complete disappointment. We waited ten minutes for tickets. Guests who came after us already had their drinks on the table before we could even order drinks (we were sitting in the middle of the dining room). When our food was there, we had to order cutlery separately, which in itself wouldn't be a problem if the waiter hadn't taken orders instead of bringing the cutlery, changed the beer keg, brought food to other tables and also taken a five-minute break has. After a while another waitress came and noticed that we weren't eating yet. Her attempt to smile away the situation seemed rather arrogant. After two minutes, the female waiter came to the table again to ask if she could “shove” [warm up] our food again. When I pointed out to her that the meat was already dry and shouldn't be reheated, she smiled again and pointed out that it wouldn't make it any drier [worse]. The discussion about the bill only made things worse. I don't want "Schnäpsle" and there is no amount of alcohol that can compensate for incompetent (I mean that literally - I have legitimate doubts that anyone in the house who moves around the restaurant has an IHK degree) service. An apology would certainly have worked... The price was really cheap, if you're barely above McD in terms of price, then at least the service shouldn't be worse than McD. This inn is the easiest way to eliminate a good mood and a complete waste of time.

Very tasty meal with friends, very hospitable service for whom nothing was too much. The only downside was that the terrace is located on a parking lot on a busy main road, which somewhat spoils the atmosphere.

We ordered two ham and cheese platters and unfortunately the quantity was very small. There was only one type of cheese to choose from without any information on the menu. Only one type of the dish was delicious, but it was very tasty. Unfortunately it wasn't worth it for the price. But the place is very beautiful.

We've been there twice because it's so delicious. We can only recommend the deer goulash and the grill plate

So first of course, my Arab colleague and then another customer, I waited 30 minutes for my xxl kebab and then I got thinner which was only half full because it was just a catastrophe. I returned these duners and didn't pay.

The two of us had dinner. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the waitress and shown to a free seat. The drinks and the food afterwards came very quickly. The strengths of the smaller, but definitely cozy restaurant are evident in both the taste and the portion size. The price for the shared dinner was reasonable. We'd love to come back!

I'm wondering about the reviews. For us it was the most miserable meal we've had in many years. Every station restaurant is better! We ate bratwursts with potato salad. How much can you go wrong? But: the potato salad was definitely out of the bucket, the sausages were old, and the ready-made sauce was cold. Even a shot of schnapps at home didn't help much with the bad feeling in my stomach. Never again! And where do all the good reviews come from? Are they all fake? Or has something changed in the kitchen?
