I stumbled in here with a friend to order a takeaway pizza. The menu is manageable compared to the usual “Italian around the corner”. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will understand why. The open pizza kitchen, where an incredibly elastic dough is prepared by professional hands, suggests that passion for the craft is in every bite. Greeted by a friendly lady, we soon received our pizza and were not disappointed. A thin base, a crispy and aromatic edge, crowned with ingredients whose quality you can taste. A chance find that you won't soon forget!

This pizzeria is an ideal place to eat with the family. They have a specific variety of pizzas, with a very good quality of products. Baking in the oven leaves a light and not heavy dough. The attention is very friendly and attentive. They take into account the needs of the little ones without having to ask for them (highchair, cutlery, glasses, extra plate, etc.) The truth is that I left with a very nice feeling about the place.

Awesome pizza place, nice atmosphere at a very accessible location

Simply good! The two of us went there to try the sourdough pizzas. There is a small (but sufficient) menu, no frills, just good food! Only the salad was a bit boring but it was just a salad without anything else. The ambience is simple and a little bit alternative. The waitresses are super nice. Directly after the entrance is the huge oven in which the truly delicious Napoleonic pizzas are served. We'll definitely be back.

I've tried many pizzerias, but this one is really a highlight! The pizza was simply perfect: the dough was nice and crispy, but still fluffy, and the ingredients were fresh and high quality. I was particularly impressed by the selection of creative toppings - they really focus on quality! The service was also great: friendly staff who really took their time with us and always had a smile on their faces. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very inviting and cozy. I will definitely come back and can only recommend it to everyone.

Lievito Madre is a real highlight and a must for all pizza lovers! I was pleasantly surprised from the first contact: I received an extremely friendly welcome on the phone, and this impression was also confirmed during my on-site visit. The service is not only attentive, but also warm and authentic - you immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The atmosphere in the restaurant is a real plus. The stone oven placed in the middle of the restaurant not only makes for great pizza, but gives the entire store a rustic and cozy feel. It's impressive to see the pizza makers in action while the fresh ingredients are processed. The pizza itself is an absolute taste experience - perfectly prepared, with a crispy base and aromatic toppings that literally melt in your mouth. We were even helped to choose as we couldn't decide due to the tempting menu. The recommendation was excellent and enriched our evening. The prices are very fair given the high quality of the food, which makes the visit all the more pleasant. It's a place you'll want to come back to and won't hesitate to tip generously. Lievito Madre combines excellent food, a nice atmosphere and excellent service in a way that leaves you with lasting delight. An all-round successful experience that I can only warmly recommend!

We were there on a Friday with a reservation, at first impression everything seemed fine. Food selection is not for everyone. After we ordered the starter and main course, we waited a while. After 1:30 hours we wanted to ask when our starter would arrive, but it was almost impossible to speak to a service person. After 2 hours (!) I went in and asked the waitress whether our food had perhaps been forgotten, which was immediately answered in the affirmative. We didn't want the starter anymore and got our pizzas after about 20 minutes. These were tasty, but not the best either. We received dessert on the house as compensation. All in all, a very nice restaurant with good food, but the service should be a little more attentive ;) Forgetting food can happen to anyone, but it should be noticeable when customers haven't even received their starter after 2 hours. It was also difficult to catch a service person to reorder or pay for something.

I reserved a table at short notice the day before (closed day), which worked surprisingly well. Thank you for that! 😊 Overall, the food was very good, we particularly liked the pizza with zucchini and almonds. We ordered burrata with tomatoes as a starter, but unfortunately the taste of the tomatoes was heavily influenced by onions - I wouldn't order this dish again for €11. However, the service is in great need of improvement. Unfortunately you have to wait a long time and there was often no waiter available outside. It was particularly annoying when we wanted to order dessert - after 40 minutes of waiting, we finally had to go into the restaurant to find someone. We also waited a long time for the bill. It's a pity that we didn't manage to serve food for all three people at the same time. The repeated mixing up of orders was also noticeable. Given the number of guests on the terrace, it would probably be better to take orders not from your head, but with an orderman or at least with pen and paper. In the end, the drinks were wrong on the bill, but after all the waiting I no longer had the patience to complain about this and just added the few euros.

It's a shame that there aren't more oases like this in the south :) cozy location for sitting outside. Large, delicious pizzas with good toppings. The ingredients look fresh and high quality. In terms of price, normal Stuttgart level.

Delicious sourdough pizza and tiramisu! Super nice atmosphere in summer, especially when the lighting is on. If you want to enjoy delicious pizza (sourdough) away from the scene in a great environment, this is the place for you. The only negative point: the service is extremely slow. A little tip: Hire another service person, you're saving money in the wrong place. Still definitely worth a visit!

I've been to Lievito Madre for dinner several times. The ambience, located directly on Südheimer Platz, is super nice and the outdoor area has charm. Nevertheless, it was now the third visit in a row where a large number of dishes (from a very small and manageable menu) were no longer available. The service hasn't been great the last few times. But today a new low was reached: It was only when we ordered the dishes that we were told that some of the dishes we wanted were no longer available. Drinks came promptly and so did the appetizers. There were three of us and unfortunately a main course was already served alongside the starters. So there were still two pizzas missing. When I asked the male and very grumpy waitress, they replied, “Yes, of course, pizzas only come after the starters. But the waiter wasn't interested in the fact that we had already finished our appetizer for 50 minutes. Then the pizzas came and of course one of the two pizzas was wrong, which we hadn't ordered. This meant that the second person could now eat their main course alone while the first person had already finished and the third person had to continue to wait for their food. The waiter who had taken the order incorrectly then sent a very nice and friendly colleague forward, to announce the good news that the last pizza is still a while away. The employee was visibly uncomfortable and you could really feel sorry for her. After the second person had finished with the pizza, the last pizza arrived, which I didn't really want anymore at that point. The young employee wanted to offer us desserts on the house, but these were no longer available either. There was a limoncello and elderflower sorbet on the house. What was also somewhat disturbing was that another employee was there during the... sat down at a table (presumably with a colleague) to smoke a cigarette during ongoing operations. So far so good. Then they both got up and both left their cigarette butts on the table. When paying the bill, I tried again to talk to the grumpy male service employee & give him feedback. However, this was not well received. Since no constructive criticism was possible on site: Dear Lievito Madre team, Improvement suggestion 1: -When handing out the menu cards, let your guests know which dishes are sold out. Improvement suggestion 2: -If it takes longer, proactively inform the guests that it will take a little longer in the kitchen today. Then as a guest you also understand this 😉 Improvement suggestion 3: - Take criticism and feedback from guests seriously and do not ignore them. The atmosphere and the employees make up the customer experience - less the good food. The only way you won't be able to retain guests in the long term is through good pizzas that come to the tables late and sporadically.

We were able to get a table right away, as we came before the dinner rush. Pizza portions are large and tasty. Restaurant is located in a quiet area of Stuttgart Süd.

Only particularly regional products (food, vegetables, etc.) are used with great attention to detail and served exclusively and simply beautifully. Price performance definitely worth it.

3rd visit. Prices have now increased significantly and cost almost as much as at Marienplatz (Margarita €11). Yes, natural sourdough but the pizza still doesn't come close to LA in terms of taste or size. I'd rather go to Marienplatz again. It's just as crowded there but at least you can eat ice cream while you wait. There's also chilli oil, normal oil and pepper, without asking for it (and waiting forever for it)... Today 2nd visit: Pizza top, but service again at Struggln due to good occupancy. But the food was simply delicious, hence 1* more 1st visit: Nice new location on Südheimer with very friendly, attentive service. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the pizza but perhaps my expectations were too high. Some pizzas were burnt and too cold at the table. Too little salt in the dough/sauce. Oil/pepper was not brought because the service had not yet settled in at full capacity, despite double demand. Very long waiting times for drinks. Food: The porcini mushrooms in my Pizza Funghi were too watery and the consistency wasn't that fine. A certain spice was simply missing. My friends thought the buffalo salami was too smoked (perhaps an individual taste), 2 pizzas had burnt edges, the Spinaci pizza was not well received by anyone (everyone tried it), even though it read delicious. I otherwise like cumin. Maybe it was all due to the overload after the opening. In any case, Lievito Madre cannot currently keep up with the top pizza bakers in the city. I'll give it a second try in a few weeks and will be happy to adjust my rating then :)

There is clearly room for improvement in the behavior of the staff: I was there today (June 23, 2024) with my partner and one other person and we wanted to have lunch there. Since there was no sign that you would be assigned a seat, we found a table outside that didn't have a reserved sign. When the staff saw us, we were asked from 10m away if we had a reservation. When we said no, we were told that all tables, including those without a sign, were reserved and we couldn't sit there. After the statement you turned away. I find it impossible to treat potential guests like that. This is how it works better: You come to people and ask at a reasonable distance. Above all, you offer alternatives and don't just disappear again. This really annoyed us, so we left and chose another place for lunch. I can't say anything about the quality of the food because they clearly didn't want us there.

The team around the owners, who both work equally hard, really puts in a lot of effort. The pizzas were very tasty and the ingredients tasted high quality. If you want a place in the beer garden, you should definitely make a reservation.

Neapolitan pizza with sourdough. Not off the shelf, but baked and topped with love. Delicious. Pay attention to pizza of the week. Service very attentive and good. Food and drink came quickly.

A simply excellent pizza made by someone who obviously places extreme demands on himself and his product and meets them. In addition, there are special variants that you won't find on every menu. The tiramisu for dessert was one of the best I've had so far, including in Italy.

The pizza is very tasty at a fair price. The drinks list is unfortunately very meager, hardly any choice. When it comes to service, there are different employees, some nice and others rather unfriendly. It's also very stuffy when you eat inside.

On May 29th, 2024 I was in the Lievito Madre for the first time in the evening. Per: - Beautiful indoor area with a direct view of the pizza oven - Delicious salad plate - Pizza margherita looked and tasted good - Service was quick and flexible Cons: - Unfortunately, the pizza bread with the salad was not pizza bread, but ciabatta bread. It tasted very good, but homemade pizza bread would have been even tastier. In the future, please put strips of dough in the oven and serve pieces of pizza bread with the salad, this will significantly increase the taste experience :) Next time I visit I'm hoping for the homemade pizza bread with the salad :)) Conclusion: Pizza dough is like in Naples. Easily digestible and tasty. There were real pieces of tomato visible on the pizza, that's what makes a real pizza. Service was very concerned about the guest and asked what was going on during and after the meal. I give a clear recommendation for the restaurant.

I've been there several times now and have been thrilled every time. You get your food relatively quickly, even when it's busy. The pizzas are exceptional and always taste very good. The employees are very friendly and the atmosphere, especially in the outdoor area, is very atmospheric. But the inside is also beautifully decorated.

The pizzeria has the charming look of a Swabian inn. The pizza dough was excellent. Unfortunately, the Margherita lacked that certain something in terms of taste. Good Neapolitan pizza... I personally missed the taste but the dough was great. I can recommend the buffalo specialties as a starter. Service was a bit too serious but ok. Ambience a bit too dark... That's why 4 stars everywhere.

Striving but not yet achieved. Pizza's The bottom was toasted too much, the topping was watery and poorly seasoned. Unfortunately also the starter plate, the contents were ok but again without oil or herbs. A little more love when cooking and preparing things and it can still be something.

We were there on a Saturday evening around 8pm without a reservation. It was very crowded. The service was inattentive and only left us standing in the entrance for 5 minutes. But then we got a seat after waiting about 15 minutes. But then we had to wait a long time for drinks. The pizza we wanted was no longer available as described on the menu because we ran out of asparagus. Unfortunately not a good start. But the pizza was tasty and big. Maybe we had a bad day. But I'll try it again.

The Pizza Bianche "Patate e Pesto" was very tasty, although in my opinion you could leave out the patate/potato because it actually just makes the pizza heavier and doesn't make much sense in terms of taste. The service was great (our pizzas took less than 15 minutes) and the atmosphere is nice too.

Unfortunately after the second visit I have to change my review to negative. The pizza was no longer soft, but rather crunchy and dry with little sauce, there was practically zero sauce on the edges near the crust. The boy who served us was listless and not at all friendly. The aubergine pizza was no longer on the menu. Desserts were not available because "we arrived too late" (reservation at 8.45pm). I won't go back there again.

Hier sind absolute Profis am Werk. Erstklassige neapolitanische Pizza mit dem perfekten fluffigen Rand und weichen Boden. Unsere Pizzen waren beides Volltreffer. Das Ambiente ist schön und simpel, man fühlt sich wie in einer kleinen Pizzeria in Italien. Auf den Punkt getroffen. Der Service ist sehr angenehm, es wird nachgefragt ob alles passt, aber niemals aufdringlich. Sehr sympathische Inhaber. Bis jetzt für uns der beste Ort für Pizza Napoletana in Stuttgart. Kommen definitiv wieder.

Netter , kleiner Biergarten . Leider an vielbefahrener Strasse . Ergo : Abgasgestank und Lärm. Unaufmerksames Personal . Es dauert ewig , ein Getränk , egal welcher Art , zu bekommen . Pizza eher durchschnittlich und schwach belegt . Dafür eigentlich zu teuer . Es gibt besseres an lauschigen Plätzen in Stuttgart

Sehr gute Sauerteig Pizzen mit sehr außergewöhnlichen, aber äußerst leckeren Belägen. Der Teig ist vielleicht etwas zäher, als „normaler“ Hefeteig, aber sehr lecker. Das Servicepersonal war trotz sehr vielen Gästen sehr aufmerksam. Die Preise sind angemessen.

Total süßes und gemütliches Restaurant. Die Kellnerinnen sind sehr nett, das Essen wird sehr schnell zubereitet. Die Pizza ist fluffig, der Belag ordentlich und die Kombinationen sind harmonisch. Die Karte ist sehr überschaubar, nicht überfordernd und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Das Tiramisu war zum Abschluss einfach nur perfekt. Wir kommen wieder.

Super Pizza, guter Service, die Akustik ist leider verbesserungswürdig - man versteht kaum das Wort des gegenüber und es ist sehr laut.

Sowohl der Salat, als such beide Pizzen waren sehr gut. Der Service war anfangs etwas distanziert, dann aber sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Tische stehen leider etwas eng, aber restliche Ambiente ist gemütlich und einladend.

Gutes Essen, bei einer kleinen aber guten Speisekarte. Hatten Pizza mit Beilagensalat.

Wir waren kurz vor 18:00 ein Stunde zum Essen da und wurden sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Wir hatten am selben Tag mittags reserviert und gerade noch einen Tisch bekommen. Der Mista mit Brot (7) war reichhaltig, die neapolitanische Sauerteig-Pizza aus dem Holzofen mit San Marzano DOP Tomaten und je nach Variante mit Fior die Latte oder Büffelmozzarella wirklich sehr, sehr gut. (Fungi für 15). Die Karte ist recht überschaubar, es gibt aber eine größere Auswahl an Pizza Bianco, die ich (noch) nicht probiert habe. Das selbstgemachte Mango-Eis (4) ist ein Traum! Der Espresso kann was. Das Publikum war casual, weniger edel oder hip. Ich habe mich rundum wohl gefühlt. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Leider gibt es nur - sehr gute- Pizza und Salate, keine Pasta!

Super Laden!!! Schnelle und sympathische Kellnerin. Die Pizza war grandios, geschmacklich wie im letzten Urlaub in Neapel. Das Tiramisu ist ein MUSS... nicht zu weich und doch nach Kaffe und Mascarpone schmeckend,genau ausbalanciert, top! Die Beilagensalate waren groß. Preise ok, leider inzwischen Standard in Stuttgart. Das einzige was nur so lala war, war der sangiovese Wein. Hier ist noch ein wenig Potential. Tipp: unbedingt min. 1tag vorher reservieren, auch unter der Woche!
