Lichtblick in Berlin

OK, I'm going to food shame myself, but I visited this place twice within a few days of each other. I love a good Schnitzel and the first time I went, the Schnitzel was to die for. I'm not too keen on onions or the dressing most German restaurants automatically put on your salad. So on my second time I requested they hold the onions on both the salad and the potatoes, and I asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Everything came out as ordered and it was even better the second time. I had the same waitress both times and she was great.

We went there once for dinner and once for breakfast, both of which were really excellent. The quality of the food, the service, and the ambiance were all impressive. I can definitely recommend it!

I've been to this restaurant two days in a row now and I have to say I loved it both times! Yesterday I tried the schnitzel, which was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The service was also very friendly and attentive. Today I decided on the spaetzle, which was just as delicious. The portion was generous and the spaetzle was perfectly cooked. Overall, I can only recommend this restaurant. The cuisine is great, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. We'd love to come back!

Really something to feel good and delicious food in a Berlin atmosphere. The service is friendly, fast and experienced. The food was always great and still affordable. If the temperature is right, you can also sit comfortably outside in a separate area from the street.

A little too cozy for a business dinner but we liked it all the same!

We visit you regularly and are thrilled every time! The team is super friendly and attentive — you always feel welcome. We think it's particularly great that the restaurant is dog-friendly; our four-legged friend receives just as warm a welcome as we do. The food is always a pleasure - freshly prepared, tasty and prepared with a lot of love. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, perfect for a nice evening. We always enjoy coming back and can absolutely recommend the restaurant!

Food a little more expensive, but also large portions. Food was good and tasty. I was there on a Friday evening and two people in service was definitely not enough! Had to wait quite a long time for everything!

Very tasty food, but we had to wait 90 minutes for food and 30 minutes for drinks. It was very busy, I know there was a lot to do, but perhaps the staff could be increased if there were a lot of guests planned.

Stopped in for a quick drink after a long day in Berlin. Stumbled across their dessert menu whilst indulging in a cold beer. The apple strudel was magnificent, a desert to die for. The only thing that bettered this delightful desert was the service and personality of our host Mila. Thank you for a fantastic treat!

Solid restaurant, good atmosphere, mid menu. The waiting staff is quite friendly and the service is prompt. The atmosphere is dark but fitting. The cordon bleu and the side of gravy is quite good. However, for a sit-down restaurant, the menu is lacking non-fried entrées and sides.

I went here as the restaurant was described as serving German food. While it had schnitzel, it also had pasta, burgers, fajitas & calamari. I had an omelette with potatoes. It was good.

A great meal, very friendly and attentive service. The oriental lentil soup and the veal schnitzel were very tasty. A Ducksteiner was also one of them. What more do we want??? By the way, it's Bavarian week with Leberkäse, Weißwurst, Obazda and Kassler. We are already looking forward to the next time. Thank you!!!

The food was very good, veal schnitzel was very filling and even tasted good cold the next day. My insight: Food, especially sauces, that taste good cold are also well prepared. Additives such as salt, sugar and glutamate lose their magic after the first preparation, also because we humans have mentally switched off the enthusiasm when we are served. The team is very friendly and would have exceeded the full number of stars if it were fully staffed. The service team is very attentive, but unfortunately the kitchen can't keep up. Since the first hunger of working people could be satisfied with bread, the mood remained high (but this time there was no herb butter/mayo) As I said, the main courses were great, both the veal schnitzel and salad and fried potatoes - perfect! Axo the drinks and cocktails were also very tasty.

The waiter was extremely disrespectful, constantly harassed us and wanted to share the food with us and not leave? After asking, he left, what kind of behavior is that? Something like that doesn't work, I'll never come back.

We spontaneously ended up at “Lichtblick” for dinner and were thrilled. The food was very tasty, the portions were really large, the service was very attentive and friendly - you could immediately tell that the nice gentleman loves his job. The prices were also very fair. I can really only recommend this restaurant.

We ate there twice during our visit to Berlin because our hotel was right around the corner. We felt warmly welcome. The first evening we sat on the corner, right on the street in the intersection area. Was the only free table. The service from waiter Deniz was excellent. A person who does his job with love. And because we liked the food so much, we went back a second time. But this time with a table reservation. The outside area was just as full again. We were lucky and were able to sit on the very comfortable terrace. Ate very tasty, also tried the cocktails. We were lucky enough to be served by Deniz again. Even though it was busy, he was extremely professional. Our son also really liked and liked it. Had a lot of fun with you. If we're ever in the area again, we'd be happy to do so again. Keep it up.

Service and food were very good.

Casual, nice restaurant with very attentive service. We only had nachos which were delicious. Some of the dips were not dressed. Therefore only 4 stars... Addendum: the second time they didn't feel like serving us, so we left. Since everything was different the first time, I will rate the first visit. Otherwise I would have given 1 star

Lichtblick is very good and we go there often. Service, food, ambience and prices are all good. Addition: There may be a little more ketchup or mayonnaise. The potty is already manageable. It's worth staying and eating there.

Went there for a spontaneous lunch. Super delicious food, but unfortunately the service was a bit inattentive. Unfortunately we had to wait longer each time until we could order something. When it was ordered, it arrived quickly. The food was again very tasty and the portions were quite large, so you were definitely full. Overall very nice. Unfortunately, we were not asked once if we would like to drink something after our glasses were empty. Nevertheless, I would recommend it because of the delicious food.

The service is very bad with a must, my glass of beer has been empty for half an hour and the service has already walked past seven times without asking if it can be one. Absolutely incomprehensible. I have to say it's not exactly very full that you could say ea It's full that it takes time. I come from the catering industry and we don't have anything like that

Discovered by chance while out for a walk and have now eaten here for the 4th time. Very large, tasty portions, great creations and super nice staff. You don't have to wait long. If the weather is nice you can also sit outside.

We were there for breakfast with a group and everything was wonderful. The service was good and the portions were very generous for a fair price.

The breakfast is completely pathetic!! Totally overpriced for what you get!! Lovelessly slammed in front of you as if you were dolls and not people. 1 star is still too much. Breakfast for 2 used to be great and so was everything else. We often had breakfast here, but now we won't be coming back. One star is still too many, with all understanding of inflation, others have the same problems and do it much better

I've been coming here on and off for 15 years now and always go home happy. As always, Daniel guarantees good service. The original Wiener Schnitzel is the highlight for me and a mojito and the evening ends relaxed

Delicious German food! Our favorite dishes were the schnitzel and spaetzle. Originally we came here for breakfast our first day in Berlin and decided to come back for lunch on our last day. The food and drinks were perfect and the service was very good as well.

The breakfast platter for 2 people was very generous and very attractively presented, the scrambled eggs were prepared fresh and fluffy. The eye ate too! The included Prosecco could have been a little more sparkling, but overall a good recommendation with the best price-performance ratio. The Caipirinha is highly recommended for the evening, I found the Pinot Grigio only mediocre. A wonderful restaurant in Moabit with real Berlin flair!

Update April 24, 2024. I'm in the rays of hope every few weeks and always feel completely comfortable. The service is great, always fast, super friendly and humorous 😊 The food is always of good quality and the price-performance ratio is right. Special requests are easily accommodated. Everything you need to feel comfortable there👍 Absolutely recommended💯

A great place to end the night on a really good note, great beer, the strudel in here is amazing, the personnel is attentive despite my ignorance in the language. If you like relaxed places to get that final bite before going to bed this is it!, prices are reasonable and if there is a lot of wind, the warm inside is cozy.

Very tasty foods. I would not say it is a German restaurant even if they claim. The menu is diverse. The thing I can assure you is that whatever you order there you would enjoy the great taste. We had a great night there.

Everything was good in the restaurant itself. However, parking spaces are few and far between.

One of my go-to options for German comfort food in a quiet neighborhood. Think big schnitzels, cordon Bleu, spaetzle and other hearty recipes in MASSIVE portions, frequently peppered with solid seasonal options. The interior is down to earth, unpretentious and cozy. Staff is super nice. The prices seem to have taken a hike recently, which takes a bit from the incredible quality for value this restaurant offers, and is the only reason I give it 4*
