Disastrous service, inauthentic food, extremely long wait times, and unfortunately, simply not good. The service was actually very attentive but simply overwhelmed. All in all, a bitter disappointment.

The service was vague and disinterested. They were clearing away our table during our dinner, and after the main course, they lost interest in us and insisted on cash payment. A lot of money for very little wine. A strange experience. Definitely not recommended.

We were with a large group – the food was really not good! Tasteless, dry salad with no dressing. I can't understand the good reviews. We were also completely ripped off – a flat rate of €55 per person – but based on the menu, the maximum for food was €26.

The ambiance was very nice, but the food was subpar. We were part of a large group with a coordinated menu, and we were served a lackluster starter (a dry salad) and a mediocre main course with an inedible dessert. Unfortunately, we were totally disappointed.

The service was good but the food came cold (the potato dish arrived cold and uncooked ) overall the prices really not justifies the poor food we got.

A little more expensive but worth it

Well, how do you start when it ends with the police? The two of us had reserved a table for 7 p.m. We ordered a "lemon water" and a "Peter's Spritz." For dinner, we were supposed to have "baba ganoush" and "halloumi with salad" (starters). For the main course, we chose "Damascus pizza" and a "red lentil soup," which we unfortunately couldn't reach. Shortly after ordering, the table next to us got up and left with a "grumble" ("They'll see you and never see you again.") The drinks we ordered (which were fine) and starters arrived. After a few bites, we noticed the "very sour" taste and told the waitress that the food wasn't tasty and that we would like to cancel the remaining courses. We were then told by the "boss" that this wasn't possible because everything had already been prepared for US. A bit like "eat or die" or "pay for EVERYTHING you ordered and leave." WE didn't accept this and called the police. They arrived after a short wait. We paid for our drinks and appetizers and left the restaurant. We wish all future guests a better experience. PS: The pita bread was fresh from the bag and hadn't even been warmed up in the microwave.

A wonderful Syrian restaurant with authentic flavors and a warm atmosphere. The dishes are freshly prepared, rich in spices, and perfectly balanced – the Farhst Al Maqdous and the Fattoush salad are especially must-try. The staff is friendly and attentive, and you immediately feel welcome. A piece of Syria in the heart of the city – highly recommended!

My first real encounter with Levantine cuisine, which went beyond hummus and falafel. And it was well worth it! A perfect evening, highly recommended if you're looking for something different.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal here whilst on a visit to Berlin. I would highly recommend eating here! The food, the staff and the atmosphere - everything was lovely!!

A beautiful restaurant with an unusual menu – you don't find that everywhere. It was delicious. I had the Dajaj min Al-jabal, which was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I highly recommend the Arabic rice pudding, Rizbilhaleeb. The portion sizes are manageable, though. And the drinks are exorbitantly expensive. The service was very friendly and attentive.

We were there for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday – it was simply wonderful. The service was warm, attentive, and incredibly friendly. All our requests were met, and the food was simply delicious. Thank you so much for this special moment!

Unfortunately, we found the food too Germanized and also too expensive. The oriental batata harra consisted of potatoes that were supposed to be seasoned in the Syrian style. 9 euros for a small bowl of potato wedges that were clearly pre-cooked and therefore stale. Everyone probably knows the taste of reheated potatoes. But there were also positive aspects. The sausage starter was great, but 14 euros for two thin sausages with some mashed potatoes was a bit steep. The main course was lamb skewers. Yes, you could eat it, but it wasn't that great. Anyone who has ever enjoyed real oriental cuisine will, in our opinion, be quite disappointed. Perhaps a bit like knowing real Italian food and then going to the pizzeria around the corner...

The employee's handling of potential customers was extremely poor. Not recommended!

Unfortunately, it was just okay. The restaurant is beautifully and invitingly designed, offering a pleasant ambiance. The menu is clear and offers a great selection of oriental dishes. Personally, I didn't find the food particularly tasty. The portion sizes were also quite small, in my opinion, or somewhat out of step with the price. Given the higher prices, I expect either a unique flavor or large portions. The service was also quite inflexible. I just wanted an extra portion of fries. They're even on the menu, but only if you order the burger or pizza. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. We actually wanted the mixed sharing plates for 5 people, but only got the regular one for 2. The Aperol Spritz for €11.50 is also rather above average in price.

The waitress was incredibly rude; she was more busy with her phone than with customers. We had to wait over an hour for two dishes while there was hardly anyone there. The price-quality ratio is also very poor, unfortunately.

This restaurant offers great Middle Eastern cuisine. We ordered the mixed meze plate and the Damascus pizza — both were delicious! The meze plate, in particular, stood out with a wide variety of flavors and was more than enough for two people. The location is also very convenient, close to the S-Bahn and train station.

We went there last night to enjoy coffee and cake. The location appealed to us from the outside, and the café/restaurant is beautifully decorated inside as well. Unfortunately, the service didn't meet our expectations at all. We were seen upon entering, but initially ignored. Only after more than ten minutes and several attempts to get our attention did someone come to our table. When we asked for cake, we received a curt "No," without further explanation or alternative suggestion. The waiter then simply left and sat outside. The other employees (a blonde girl) also seemed unmotivated or distracted; one sat outside, another hid in the corner. The only exception was the bartender with long hair, who was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to salvage the overall impression. We would have liked to order more, but no one else came to our table. Overall, we didn't feel welcome—a real shame, because the restaurant itself is very nice. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it.

A fresh, clean ambiance, with a few tables outside on the sidewalk; a central location. The service was not overly enthusiastic, but friendly; the food was fresh, very well seasoned, and beautifully presented. Prices are upscale (e.g., mezze plate €22, chicken skewers €29), but a bit too expensive for what's on offer. Overall, highly recommended.

Restaurant review. The cuisine is Middle Eastern and therefore also offers hummus, falafel, well-seasoned meat dishes, and more. The hummus is okay, the falafel is extremely good – nice and fluffy, and the kishke chadra is also highly recommended. The coffee was unfortunately a bit weak. The restaurant is located on a busy, touristy street. Accordingly, the prices are very high.

Super tasty, super friendly, but unfortunately a bit overpriced, just like in Berlin Mitte. The mixed matzah plate for the main course is small, a bit too small in quantity, and too expensive. The chicken with date and pistachio cream (Dajaj min) is incredibly delicious, and the falafel is also top-notch.

LAWRENCE is a beautifully decorated restaurant. The service was provided by a young lady who only spoke English. She seemed a little overwhelmed by the sparsely occupied tables, didn't notice when drinks were empty, and didn't notice when people tried to get her attention. As a result, everything took a bit long. She had to tell a guest at the next table that their food was no longer available. The kitchen wasn't able to accommodate a special request, such as chicken instead of lamb. There was no room for maneuver. The meal itself: I had the vegetarian stir-fry. Freshly prepared, interesting, and seasoned. Must be eaten with rice, as its spices contribute to the overall flavor. Overall, I think the value for money isn't right. Unfortunately, the ambiance doesn't make up for it. But perhaps I'm not the target audience.

A huge disappointment. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good at all. The fries were only half-cooked, parts of the menu were missing, and the overall service was a bit lackluster. And no card payments!

Reservations were easy. Some of the food was lightly seasoned. The chicken was far too dry. They didn't provide an extra portion of hummus. I'm familiar with Syrian cuisine; I lived in Damascus for two years.

We were enticed by the high star rating but very disappointed. Poor non attentive and slow service, food mediocre and one meal almost entirely cold (tried to alert but no waiting staff to be seen). Expensive. I would urge you not to waste your money.

I really dont understand why this place has such a high reviewer score. We were a big group of people, the food was nothing to remember, even though the manager of the place is someone to remember (not for good reasons). All the people at the service very kind, that was the only positive.

The food was generally good. The chicken was a bit overcooked. The service was...okay. Our server was attentive but didn't speak German. Paying by card was very inconvenient and truly outdated.

The restaurant is overrated and deserves 3 stars at most. It's not untasty, but it's not great either, somehow listless (like the service, by the way) the cold pan is served with a scraped-on Teflon coating, but on a three-legged stand, you wonder what that's about, as is the interior, everything is a bit random. And expensive.

Unfortunately, despite the good reviews, the food was rather disappointing. The chicken seasoning tasted quite bitter at times, while the lamb at €30 was tough and didn't taste that good either. The portions were also rather small. Not good value for money

A wonderful experience. The restaurant is centrally located and well connected in Mitte. The S1 stops directly in front of the shop. From the windows you have a wonderful view of an extremely beautiful synagogue. The restaurant itself is very pleasantly decorated. Nice ambience with quiet jazz music and comfortable seating. The service is also excellent. Food and drinks came reasonably quickly. The plates don't look full, but they fill you up well. The dishes taste excellent thanks to good, authentic seasoning and preparation. All in all not to be missed. I'd love to come back.

What can I say… we came in but were poorly received. The card already tells you about the tip. The lady only wanted to sell long drinks even though we didn't feel like drinking alcoholic drinks. So we left again without consuming anything.

Well, first of all the interieur and everything else is quite cozy and nice. The staff was also alright, but we waited a long time to order drinks and food. The food itself was not well seasoned. Since we are aware of good levantine food, the interpretation of „Berliner Fattoush“ had nothing in common with the original Fattoush, really nothing. Small portions, not well seasoned and it seemed like a posh restaurant with a lack of character.

Simply the worst. Empty restaurant and they let us wait 30 minutes to even take the order (7 adults and 2 little kids). The most expensive falafel in Berlin, about 20 € for simple plate served by arrogant, annoyed staff. I wish to ask everyone to not support this way of serving and selling food. Avoid if you can.

Das Essen am Abend des 23.03.2025 hat uns aufgrund des schlechten Preis-Leitungsverhältnisses enttäuscht. Das Hauptgericht "Al-Scham Kombi" für 2 Personen hat sehr wenig an orientalischen Aromen geboten und der Materialeinsatz rechtfertig den Preis von 74,50 Euro mitnichten. Das trifft auch auf das Kännchen Minztee zu - mit nur 2 Stängelchen Minze für 8 Euro hätte man auch Wasser trinken können. In der Wartezeit von ca. 45 min ist kein Brot an den Tisch gebracht worden. Das Dessert haben wir vorsichthalber wonanders eingenommen.

delicious food. I was there at lunchtime, but there is no special lunch offer. It was very empty in the restaurant - you have to deal with that (it's supposed to be very crowded in the evenings), but the food was good and the service was very nice and attentive.

Quite ok but really bad value for money. The plate with five falafel, some hummus and tabbouleh costs €22. Unspectacular bread is available for €2 extra. It's unlikely to fill you up and it's not particularly tasty either. The restaurant is nicely decorated and cozy. But you pay almost 100% extra for that and the location. It's not worth it to me personally. Given these prices (and in Mitte), I can't understand why card payments aren't accepted. The menu has a particularly unfriendly introduction and directly states that a reasonable tip is expected…

We were at Lawrence Berlin with a group of 15 people on a Monday and the restaurant was full. Even though it was busy, we were able to order quickly and the food was delicious. The service was friendly and on point. Everyone was satisfied and happy. Thank you for the great hospitality. We'll definitely come back.

Restaurant is nice, good for a date. Service is was ok, the girl was pretty new and insecure. Food was medium, tasteful but a bit dry and basic.

Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. The couscous with lamb was 3-stars, without flavor.

We wanted to visit the restaurant last Saturday and were told at the door that there were no seats left. The restaurant was 80% empty... We probably didn't look like we were leaving enough money. This has never happened to me before in any restaurant in Berlin, even at a higher price.

We really liked the atmosphere. The food was good, apart from the chicken, which was noticeably too dry. Unfortunately the service was very, very, very inattentive. We would have liked to order coffee and dessert. Unfortunately, we sat in front of our empty plates for 45 minutes, no one came, no one responded to us, even though we were sitting right at the entrance, where guests were constantly being picked up and brought to their seats. To pay we then had to speak to the “boss” directly. When he asked, "Everything's ok," we answered, in my opinion, in a friendly manner, that we would have liked to have coffee and dessert, but unfortunately we don't have any more time. His reaction was an example of a lack of critical ability and arrogance. He justified the inattentive service by saying that it was difficult to get staff. When he cautiously replied that it might still be possible to get to the table in 45 minutes if you were walking past anyway, he said, "Now listen, I'll tell you again, two employees didn't show up today. I'm the boss and I have to work as a waiter here...." Maybe we should have said that we were very aware that during the 2 hours we were there he sat at a table with acquaintances and talked for at least 1 hour; perhaps indicate that he did not really support his (new) employees during their induction; Perhaps I should give the tip that as an employee it is definitely annoying when the boss doesn't lend a hand in such situations and there is a chance that you won't come back the next day when people are looking for staff everywhere. Our impression was that the “boss” wasn’t interested. We hope that it was his sales that he didn't make ;-)

Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't keep what it promises. Contrary to the menu, some drinks were not in stock, and the oriental burger on the menu was also not available that evening. The dishes without typical Arabic spices and taste rather average. The high expectations set by the restaurant itself as the best Arabic restaurant could not be met and unfortunately did not convince us at all.
