Cana Restaurant & Catering in Berlin

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, friendly, attentive service! We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back!

During a planned group event at the Cana Restaurant, we unfortunately experienced some amateurish communication and questionable customer service. It started harmlessly, with calls only sometimes being answered during opening hours. It continued with emails also only sometimes being answered. As a guest, you are forced to regularly follow up with phone calls and reminder emails. Unfortunately, even if questions were answered, they were sometimes inadequate. Important additional information and conditions for a group event at the Cana were concealed for a long time by the staff. We only learned about this shortly before the event began, and unfortunately only partially, so we had to actively inquire about all the details to understand what we were ultimately getting ourselves into. As if all this wasn't unnecessary and annoying enough, upon arrival at the restaurant, we learned that the reservation confirmed by the restaurant via phone and email was worthless, as we learned upon arrival that the event room had not been reserved for us after all. There were even other guests in it. Unbelievable. Luckily for our group, these other guests were so friendly and moved to the regular restaurant area. It's unthinkable if we, as a group, had traveled for nothing. Whether we were deliberately being fooled or it was all just the result of amateurish behavior on the part of the restaurant, we can't say. Regardless of which case applies, this experience is unparalleled. It is truly the opposite of professional. We will (have to) look elsewhere for our next group events.

Oriental atmosphere. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. The cocktails are highly recommended. The team (owner and staff) strives to fulfill guests' wishes. A room for private parties is also available. The Sunday brunch is a culinary delight. We would be delighted to open a branch near Hamburg.

We went out to eat with a fairly large group, and the food was fantastic. Even though there were 30+ people, we all received our food at the same time, hot. The service was also very attentive and extremely friendly. Highly recommended! 💛

A very nice and, above all, authentic brunch buffet. Great selection and superb taste. The price is top-notch. We'll be happy to come back. Update after several brunches: The quality is still top-notch. I think it's even gotten better. The dishes are labeled and declared vegan/gluten-free, etc. So, shoutout to the kitchen crew: Great work. And to the service: Keep up the good work! You're our favorites when it comes to brunch in Berlin. Not your run-of-the-mill brunch. We're always happy to come back.

A very good restaurant with very tasty food, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great, definitely recommended.

We went for the €14 lunch buffet and were disappointed. There was no soup, no fresh fruit, only one type of vegetable, and the only meat was meatballs. But the selection isn't important; what's more important is the taste, and unfortunately, it was only mediocre; I could have managed that myself. It's a shame, the ambiance is great, the service was good, and the restrooms were spotless. But the most important thing, the food, was unfortunately disappointing.

We were a group of four, expecting a pleasant evening. One of the dishes arrived with not one, but two hairs in it. Absolutely revolting. We told the staff immediately — they took that dish off the bill, but we still paid €130 for the rest of the meal.

Your catering driver drives like a mad man!

On a rainy day, I have mistakenly entered the restaurant. While I was asking where I am trying to go, the waiter pushed the door towards me. This is probably because he cannot speak English, which is perfectly fine, but he was very rude. A little bit of niceness would not kill anybody.

The food was okay and tasted good. However, the service was pretty poor. I was given the wrong dish at first. Unfortunately, I was only asked whether I wanted it anyway. No apology, no explanation. The language barrier is also quite high. When I later asked about the second plate, I was met with a very annoyed and dismissive gesture. This could be better, and as a guest, I would like to feel better cared for. The bill also only arrived after further enquiry... there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Food is delicious price-wise, you can't complain.

A wonderful restaurant with a fantastic Sunday brunch: There are no rolls and jam, of course, but there are fine Arabic dishes, delicious tea or mango shakes, and delicious desserts. We'll be back!

The outdoor tables are disturbing residents' peace and quiet until after midnight, and no one is doing anything. There are also residents who have to work early. Respect the quiet hours and close the outdoor area!!!

The food was really amazing and so was the service. The staff were very friendly. Ahmed in particular vaccinated us very well and was very nice and friendly.

We ended up here by chance (it suddenly got very dark, so we stopped for a break from our long walk at this restaurant. A short while later, a downpour started pouring down). The ambiance seems rather luxurious to me; at least, I felt very out of place in my summer trousers. However, we were given a very friendly welcome. The food costs a bit more than at nearby restaurants, but the quality justifies the price. I haven't enjoyed such delicious lamb chops in a long time. The dessert was also delicious. We then got a Moroccan tea on the house. All in all, a truly highly recommended restaurant.

Stay away! They ripped you off when you paid! We should have paid €45 instead of €60. We didn't order Coca-Cola and were charged three times.

Love it, Friendly staff, great food

Nice restaurant alongside the river. The service has been very kind and everything went smoothly even though we were quite chaotic while ordering. The food has been spiced well and rose water has been used to a perfect level: present, but not dominating. Be aware that the outdoor space can be quite windy. Even glasses will start to move. Overall a pleasant experience. Card payment requires a bill of 10€ at least.

Very bad experience They bring me the grilled dish with two hairs (I can understand that it can happen), I point it out, they already bring the dish and they bring it after almost 25 minutes giving priority to the other tables rather than correcting their mistake. The basics of service and hospitality are missing, which we wouldn't expect in an Arab restaurant.

The food is always fresh and served in an excellent, professional manner. The prices are also good. You feel like you are in an eastern region and the session is enjoyable.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere

We visited the restaurant because my companion's employer often orders catering there and this food is very appreciated. One of the service staff was obviously in a bad mood because she served us with an annoyed look on her face. The one starter we ordered (Mutabel) was delivered without a spoon or bread. When we asked for bread, it was delivered 5 minutes later and the warm main course 2 minutes later. This forced us to eat the main course first and then the starters. While we still had appetizers in our bowls and were obviously still eating, we were asked three times in a row if it could be cleared away. A cozy evening looks different!

The service was pretty rude and unprofessional, no ‚Thank you‘, no ‚you‘re weclome‘, no greetings. Just really rude attitudes and service. Unfortunately, we wouldn‘t recommend this place

We came to the restaurant because of the great reviews and we were hoping to enjoy a wonderful dinner. Unfortunately I can't rate the food because we didn't even eat in the restaurant. We didn't get a menu even after half an hour and none of the staff noticed us - even though we saw the waiters standing at the entrance several times, chatting and laughing. We found it very rude to wave or snap at the waiters, so we tried to "catch" them as they walked by and served the guests (even those who came after us) but unfortunately they didn't respond to us. We left when we were really hungry and it didn't feel like we were going to eat at this restaurant.

I was at a 3 day event catered by Cana, and the food was absolutely the highlight of my visit to Berlin. I couldn't tell you what it is called but there is a red spicy paprika dip that is absolutely beautiful. I wish I had the time to go in person, will make an excuse to next time

The restaurant is very well maintained and authentically decorated. Rather simple and not too intrusive. The service staff was very nice and helpful, so we felt we were in good hands. The menu offered a wide, authentic selection of dishes. Including starters and desserts. All dishes (couscous with spicy tomato sauce, chicken with rice and nuts and the Mediterranean plate) tasted very good and were seasoned perfectly. The price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. Unfortunately, it appeared that the Mediterranean plate contained one or more spoiled components. Both my mother and my partner developed mild to severe gastrointestinal problems on the same evening. My partner was doing very poorly until Monday and was showing typical symptoms of food poisoning. Of course, I cannot say with complete certainty that these problems were caused by the dish at Cana Restaurant, but both people experienced these symptoms at the same time.

We had our Christmas party at Cana and unfortunately it was super disappointing. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience, but we were given a separate room (which we had also wanted) which was not decorated appropriately at all. They had a lot of work to do and also said that they would create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. It seemed like we were in a meeting room and everything was super tight. You could have either decorated it more beautifully or said straight away that you couldn't cope with 25 people. Unfortunately, the service was the most difficult part of the evening. Orders placed multiple times were ignored. Then suddenly the ice machine broke and there were no more cocktails. For this reason, café and tea were no longer served. Only after several complaints. If you accept such a reservation, you should also be prepared for such an eventuality as a “high-class restaurant”. We had a lot of different basements to deal with, which led to even more chaos. Then unfortunately a glass of beer on the waiter's tray shattered, which the waiter could do absolutely nothing about. Bags, chairs and the table got wet. The glass got into the drinks. Several cellars were being cleaned again, but no one had the idea to offer us new chairs and the drinks with broken glass were neither taken away nor replaced. And we mentioned several times that glass shards ended up in the drinks. For us, that was it from that moment on. It was just a real shame. About the food: the starters were delicious and my fish was also good. My colleagues had a mixed grill platter and some of their kafta was dry. However, an open buffet was agreed upon, but everything was served on plates. We had also agreed that 1 liter of water would be served per person, but that wasn't the case. The kunafa didn't taste good. At the end we talked to 3 waiters and talked about how we were absolutely dissatisfied. Pretty much everything was blamed on the youngest waiter. We then confronted the waitress, who said that she had been there for 8 years, that, among other things, she was responsible for some of the complaints and not the young man. Eventually there was some insight and an apology. But then we were only about 8 out of 25, because the evening was already over. There were still some unpleasant things, but that's enough for now. We as a team definitely cannot recommend the restaurant more highly. What a shame.

Absolute recommendation. We had the mixed starters for two people and a main course. Everything was fresh and super tasteful. Price performance is absolutely top here!

Food was tasty but cold because the service served the front area. We made reservations well in advance but ended up stuck in the back area even though the tables in the front area were free. We were hoping for more because it was our first time in Berlin were.

the best Arabic restaurant in Berlin 💯

Locale accogliente, nello standard del genere. Offerta molto vasta nel menu, probabilmente avremmo potuto scegliere con più fortuna. Ottime le zuppe, buono anche il mix di apetizers anche se alcuni un po' difficili per la non abitudine a certi sapori. Servizio molto cortese anche se non particolarmente veloce. Prezzo adeguato all'offerta.

We went to the brunch in question and unfortunately we can't share the enthusiasm. We were particularly looking forward to the Arabic buffet, but unfortunately it was completely free. The selection of food was very clear and had little to do with Arabic cuisine. Almost only cold buffet and the little bit of warm food was raw inside. The toilets were dirty to the point of not working anymore. But the crowning glory was the staff. Not exactly friendly and anything but accommodating. It's a real shame and never again.

A wonderful Turkish breakfast brunch that left nothing to be desired, the staff was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed...very good value for money...absolute recommendation

This restaurant was our friend's recommendation, and we also let her order everything for us :) so I don't know the exact dishes, but the lamb leg was something else, as well as meat / cheese mini-pies. I couldn't stop eating after I was waaay beyond full, didn't feel my stomach and refused breakfast the next morning. Totally worth it, will repeat

Very good cuisine, very friendly service, the mezze were fantastic, I had a vegetable grill platter as my main course, everything was on point, the restaurant itself is clean, but it needs a facelift. However, you sit outside, right on the Märkisches Ufer, in a beautiful setting.

Had a very great Sunday brunch here. The place is clean, nice and cozy. Plenty of choice at the buffet. Various fresh dips, very tasty pastries, meat and hot dishes, some salad and at the end there were very tasty sweet dishes. And everything for 19.90€ - price performance is completely fine 👍🏻. The only thing that was personally missing was fresh fruit 😅. But overall we were quite satisfied. I will recommend the Sunday brunch and will come again when we are in Berlin again.

It was my first time there with my husband and we were pleasantly surprised. Very nice, cozy atmosphere. Beautiful music that reminds you of home. The staff was very nice, the food was reserved quickly, very tasty and reserved with love. The kufta was also very tasty, but it was too thick and could have been made a little thinner. At the end you get a delicious dessert reserved on the house, it's a shame there wasn't any Shai with it.😉

An excellent choice if you want to eat oriental food. Very good quality at fair prices. The cuisine is not limited to one country, but includes various oriental countries, e.g. Syria, Lebanon or Tunisia. The furnishings are much more sophisticated than in many Arabic restaurants.

We were delivered a really delicious buffet. Every finger food bite is a pleasure! We chose vegan and vegetarian. But even the biggest meat fans didn't miss anything. Absolutely recommended for all occasions. In addition, it was very easy to order and delivered on time. Always my pleasure! THANKS!

Server brought the wrong meal than admit it and argue for me to eat it. Food was very average. Taste of premade - re heated. I would not recommend. Though I've heard good comments. Maybe a bad night.

I regularly order catering from Cana and I can't praise the company enough. The food is delicious, inexpensive, healthy. The staff are very competent, professional and friendly. It's the first restaurant I recommend to visitors!

Short stopover in Berlin. After a strenuous day of travel, we stopped at Cana because it was within walking distance of the hotel and well rated. Table reservation online is possible at short notice and is easy. The food was great... We had a four-course menu so we didn't have to choose. Service was on point, great service, food came quickly. Everything is fine... We have saved the address.

The food was good, but the service was horrible. The waitress was rude. When we arrived and told her we had a reservation, she didn't bother to check the computer and just said they were full. After insisting, she finally checked and seated us without apologizing. Another waitress who served at our table didn't ask who ordered which dish and just placed the food without any consideration. Overall, the service was a 0/10, especially from the female waitstaff. They need to be trained on how to greet and serve customers respectfully.

Unfortunately we are only guests in Berlin, best Arabic restaurant where we were, very friendly staff, super delicious food, dessert and cocktail are impressive.

I participated in the Sunday brunch along with my wife. It was a fantastic culinary trip to the Middle East, with a great variety of treats at a fair price. The food was excellent quality and heavenly in taste. Regarding my gluten intolerance, I received detailed instructions about what to eat and what to avoid, which proved to be trustworthy. This is an absolutely recommendable restaurant.

All vegetarian dishes are available in large quantities and selection and are incredibly well done, breakfast on Sunday is a banger

Good service, amazing food and really nice atmosphere.

Traditional shop with oriental mezze. Hummus was great, the Batata Harra were crunchy and tasted very good and the garlic paste (thum) tasted as it should. Unfortunately, the main course was disappointing across the board. We ordered Mansaf with lamb and what came to the table did not meet my expectations at all. The dish was almost past its expiration date and smelled strong. After we pointed this out to the waitress and we actually lost our appetite, she just offered us another dish. When we explained to her that we wanted to go and that she should please cancel the court, we were brushed off with a “that’s not possible”. They insisted on paying the court which shocked us. We finally paid everything and left, however I can't get over the fact that I had to pay in full for a smelly lamb dish and feel obliged to warn the people out there about it! We won't be here anymore. Too bad.

Everything about this restaurant is brilliant.

The sign says Buffet, that's why you go there but they only have three bowls of soup and you're told you're out of luck. There is a real buffet on Sunday. Isn't it a scam???

We booked A table at this restaurant but it was closed. No notice that they were closed. We travelled more than 30 minutes. Really bad service avoid this place.

Unfortunately the food got a bit shaken up during delivery, but this is by far the BEST Lebanese/middle eastern food I’ve had in Berlin. The chicken and lamb were so juicy, potatoes super flavourful and the starters and desert were incredible. Would highly recommend! @osofoodies

We had reserved. The 3-course “Morgenland” menu was chosen. The young waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The food was good. But unfortunately we didn't feel comfortable because we were treated third-class. Probably because we were 2 women..? The men were served much more quickly. Dessert just didn't come. The restaurant was busy inside and out and we really understood the stress. Then 3 cookies arrived. The dessert should be “Sweet Sin of the Orient” and include variations. We spoke to the waiters rushing past, including the boss, several times. This kind of disregard and condescension detracted from the birthday evening. After the 4th response, we were given a dessert cream with coconut in a glass. We went to the front to pay so it wouldn't take any longer. For the first time in our lives, there were no tips and that means something to us.

It isn’t unfortunately special and authentic. But with this price I can’t say bad. When you have some huge hungers on labneh or baba ghanoush, here is definitely the restaurant where you can have and enjoy them as much as you need.

Food was mediocre at best, but the service was horrible. They do not know nor understand the concept of customer service, and few on the wait staff seemed to understand allergies like lactose and gluten to know what is in their menu items that didn't include these things.

Food started out strong and unfortunately faded away towards the end. To put it into perspective: I had a 5 course menu. -The starter consisted of various pastes and salads and was served with bread. The taste was definitely good, but the quantity was enough to be considered a complete meal. Must be reduced by at least 75%. It's better to have a few really good things than 10 different ones by the kilo. -The second course consisted of lamb served on the bone and again salad. In my opinion it doesn't belong here. The meat was well cooked and fell off the bone easily. No serious complaints so far -The third course was one of the most disgusting things I have ever been served in a restaurant. There was lamb and chicken. I have nothing wrong with the chicken, but the lamb... My lamb was 80% a huge blood vessel including branches. Since this wasn't the case with others at the table, I must have either had the waste on my plate or the cook had no idea or inclination. Absolute no go and just disgusting. The arterial disgust package was then served again with salad. For the third time. -The next course consisted of fish, a potato preparation and again the same side salad. The fish itself was well prepared, but one fish had a lot of bones, which it wouldn't have had to have if the cook had been up for it. The potato dish was delicious. -The last course was the pistachio knafe with sweetened cheese. Very tasty, I can definitely recommend it. Service: We had a young, dedicated waiter who always had a good saying on his lips and tried very hard to provide good service. I didn't notice much of the other two. Not because they did their job so well, but because they kept quiet and that was it. Unfortunately, my complaint about the third course wasn't taken seriously; they just nodded and took the food away. All in all, definitely not a bad restaurant. However, for me in a restaurant the food is the most important thing and that was absolutely inadequate in the fourth course and the fourth course was also inadequate after the third course. The menu composition also makes little sense from a professional perspective. You become overloaded with heavy food that sits in your stomach. The kitchen should look through the “young chef” again so that at least basic knowledge is available. Unfortunately my first and last stay with you.

We were there with a larger group (with reservation) and had a great time. The service is very friendly and the table was beautifully set. The food was very good and fresh.

Highly recommend. One of the best places to get middle eastern food. The staff is SUPER friendly. A bit on the pricey side but totally worth it!

Our favorite in Berlin! A special selection of oriental dishes (many vegan/vegetarian options are also possible). The dessert platter in particular is highly recommended. The waiters are very warm and the atmosphere is romantic! All we can say is: see you next time! (LG to Ahmet!)

This is a pure joy to visit this restaurant. One of the best lamb chops with crunchy potatoes ❤️ ok, all food is excellent here. Mezze to share with family as a taste trip. And there is always a place in my stomach for baklava (and one more glass of Aperol Spritz). The waiter was just the best service experience ever - friendly and funny at the same time. Thank you from our whole big family!

Everything was really good, the food was great, the service was really nice and our main waiter was great. It was nice and quiet and everything was fine. Nothing to complain about!
