A culinary highlight! Fresh ingredients, lovingly prepared, and simply delicious.

The environment is comfortable and the service is friendly. The braised food platter is delicious. I had congee today, which was incredibly delicious and smooth. The ingredients were generous. I recommend the beef stew and the mustard seed pork. The braised pork is delicious.

The owner is super nice, and the chef is fantastic. The food is Cantonese-style. Weekend breakfast is fantastic: fried dough sticks, homemade soy milk, steamed buns, and a variety of side dishes.

We ordered through Lieferando and didn't receive any food after several hours. After finally contacting the restaurant ourselves, we were told that our food had been sitting cold in the restaurant for hours and no one had picked it up. The restaurant showed no initiative or cooperation in delivering the food to us. The only option they offered us was to pick up the cold food ourselves. The restaurant seems to have absolutely no control over whether the ordered food is being picked up or not. Furthermore, the staff at this restaurant are incredibly unfriendly and completely unwilling to correct mistakes they made themselves.

This restaurant became a true home for me during a difficult time – I was waiting in Berlin for my father's funeral. And here I found what I really needed – warmth, delicious food, and a kind attitude. All the dishes are generous and delicious. I recommend the duck in all its forms and the dumplings – they have a delicious broth and tender, crispy pork.

The bad reviews are mostly regarding food delivery, if you eat on the spot its one of the best chinese restaurant in Berlin that I ate at. Also the venue is quite large. Staff could be friendlier but who cares.

I came here because I suddenly had a craving for Chinese food. It really did taste like what I'd been missing. The only two drawbacks were: 1. The teapot's mouth was broken. 2. The rice noodle rolls were icy underneath, and the texture of the wrapper wasn't quite right. However, the glutinous rice chicken and wontons were both very good.

The food is typically Chinese, please don't expect a standard German Chinese restaurant.

True quality shows, when things don't go as planned. On our seventh order sofar, we ordered out three meals, but only two arrived. What can I say? It happens to the best of us. After a short phone call, the remaining dish arrived quickly with an apology and a nice gift. Even with that mishap, we ended up enjoying our delicious food faster than from most other places. Until now, I never actually visited the place, but ordered out here about a dosen times now, enjoying food so consistently well prepared, tasty, and original, I can confidently recommend it to those acquaintances I can't afford to disappoint. Everything 10/10, definitely come for brunch!

For me, this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant I've been to in Berlin so far. It's a bit like a Spanish restaurant. You order lots of small plates (like tapas) and then share them with a group, mixed together. The taste is in a whole different league. Prices are acceptable. My recommendation: cucumber salad, dumplings, pork belly, and the green beans.

So, what we ordered didn't exactly match our idea of ​​good Chinese dim sum; we've definitely had better. Unfortunately, the radish cake had hardly any radish at all. Left feeling full but unfortunately disappointed and a little cheated because of their high priced cheap tasting soft drinks and small portions of food on large plates. Seating arrangement in the restaurant is awful and the service is without a smile or care for the customer. Felt as though you were there only to be processed. The restaurant staff need to connect with their customers.

People used to go to Aroma for dim sum. Now this is the most authentic and best dim sum shop! Super delicious! The prices on weekends are reasonable, too.

Overall, I'd say it doesn't deserve more than three stars. The food was very, very tasty, but the service was terrible. The waiter didn't take you seriously, and you had to wait forever for the bill.

At the weekend there is an inexpensive dim sum brunch: for 18 euros you can choose three dishes from around 50 variants on the dim sum menu, and jasmine tea is served with it. Some of the dim sum on offer I haven't seen anywhere else in Berlin - for example: 脆皮红米肠 特色韭菜牛肉春卷 was freshly made and crispy.

Really tipical China food with a really friendly service, not so Usual in Berlin.

The menu is very authentic for Chinese food. Fish is a little neglected, but pork and the like are available in many variations. It always irritates me when the food comes steaming to the table 4 minutes after ordering and I wonder whether the chef is working magic or the microwave is working well. The portions are generous and well seasoned. A smile couldn't hurt the waiter.

An expensive dinner that we would like to forget. We were looking forward to a good meal - but unfortunately we were completely disappointed. In our experience, we absolutely cannot understand the positive reviews here. The taste of the food was a disaster: bland, bland and simply inedible. I honestly can't remember ever ordering this bad. If we had been in the restaurant, we would have returned most of it. Only the dumplings tasted okay - although the portions were far too small. The rest was far from acceptable. For just under €80, we expected a lot more, both in terms of quality and the overall experience. There was no relationship between price and performance.

I used to like it, but our last experience was not good. There were so many food delivery orders it didn t feel like regular customers were appreciated or got proper service. Throughout our almost 3 hour stay in the restaurant there were constantly at least 3-6 delivery drivers with us waiting in the restaurants, sometimes standing right next to our table looking out of the window to check if their cars were obstructing traffic or ticketed and often brushing the back of our chairs walking past us. After the 30th delivery driver we stopped counting. There was the constant ringing of phones and notifications. The service in the restaurant prioritized getting the delivery food out on time and we waited for a long time. We only got our meat dishes when everything else had been finished and the food was a bit off. It was fine, but it was lacking the usual quality. To order drinks we had to go to the bar, there was no table service after our initial order and our initial order took a while, because they were busy with food deliveries. Add to that, absolutely no music to noise out the constant food delivery commotion. I am sorry to say, I am not sure I will come back.

I ordered, one meal was missing, the rest was just steamed frozen food that you can buy in any Asian market, nothing fresh, nothing homemade, no sauces for the dim sum, the wonton soup was really the highlight, just warm water with wontons, the soup had the color. of flour, there were still two zucchini slices present, no salt, not even broth. All in all, a disaster for €35.80.

very, very tasty food; it has a lot of taste, seems authentic chinese (although I've never been to China admittedly). The spice level is perfect, not overwhelming but not typical german bland by any means. Portions are very big, even though the prices are not super cheap you really get the feeling that you get your money's worth. They can also omit the meat in some dishes and it still tastes very good

Nice selection of dim sum and other dishes, most of them are meant to be shared. Some choices that are hard to get in other places. The flavors were a bit hit or miss, some dishes were a bit too bland, while others were too salty, but all in all it's a surprisingly authentic choice in a place where I would not have expected it. The tea is very nice! There's a sign that says - in Mandarin only- that there's dim sum brekkie from 11-16 during weekends, might be worth a try.

The attitude is bad. It is recommended not to come. The waiter's attitude is also bad. He is very reluctant to add more things. He is always weird and nagging.

Fast service, the service staff is very kind, Real Chinese food, spicy, is not like other Chinese restaurants, that's why I come to eat special dishes such as spicy fish, crispy pig ears in spicy sauce, slices of pork belly, soft with chili, grilled shrimp with sea spinach and garlic. We would have liked to try the food, it all looked very good and traditional. Unfortunately, we had something to do that evening and after more than half an hour of ordering, not even the starter (just a soup and a salad, which were probably already prepared in the kitchen and just had to be served on plates) showed up we happily pay the bill and leave. We asked the waitress to come over and she just said I would come to them in a moment. 15 minutes later she still wasn't with us, so we put the money for our drinks on the table and left. Since we wanted to eat something, we couldn't wait any longer. It was very busy that day and there were only 2 people serving, but new people were still being seated at improvised tables that came in the door, and delivery services were constantly coming in to pick up food, maybe you should set priorities. It's a real shame, the food looked really good.

The food itself was ok, my stepfather liked the taste of the chicken feet the next day, my food arrived cold and the sauce didn't go well with it either. At the beginning we ordered our starters and main courses at once and they arrived in exactly the same order. First my mother's starter came, after she was finished her main course came, then my stepfather's starter came and almost immediately after that his main course. My main course arrived last and was cold, great. So it came exactly in the order as ordered, but we told them what the starter and main course were. I've never experienced anything like that. If you don't bring starters at the same time, then at least before the next person gets their main course? And certainly not a starter and main course at the same time. Both get cold at the same time. It was generally rather cold in the restaurant.

We had the pork belly and duck platter which was quite disappointing. It felt like both were already old and not at all crispy, like a 燒肉 should be. The dumplings were good, but no different from the ones you get in the frozen section at Go Asia. The cucumber salad was good.

Cantonese style Chinese food in humongous portions! Come here if you’re hungry and ready to try a lot of things. The flavours were very umami forward, really big and tasty, and some decent spice in dishes like the duck. Spare ribs were so flavourful, if not a little small. But very delicious all the same. Prices were democratic for what you get and the service was efficient, very friendly, and welcoming, even as we waltzed in at 22:00. Bring a group and get everything!

The service attitude is extremely poor. I thought that only dine-in service was slow, but I didn’t expect that we would not dine in. I ordered takeout in advance and picked it up. The price was wrong. After waiting for a long time, the takeout was cold on the table and I didn’t give it to my hand. I paid for it. When I walked out with takeout, I was caught wearing clothes and asked for money again. The short male store manager (waiter) wearing glasses and not speaking Mandarin well was told that the payment had been made and he didn't say sorry. Even in Germany, you should have the most basic service attitude. This is the least recommended Chinese restaurant in Berlin.

I have lived in Hong Kong and Guangdong and Guangxi for a long time, but I didn’t expect to eat the most delicious custard buns in Berlin. It has a balanced salty and sweet taste, with a quicksand texture. The sprinkle of coconut is also very thoughtful, but unexpectedly suitable. The weekend dim sum set is not to be missed, it is very affordable and cost-effective. The lady who took the order was kind and enthusiastic, thank you for the hospitality. Wanted to get some Peking duck in a relaxed no frills environment! Got it and loved it! Service was very friendly and food & drinks were served promptly. Peking Duck set meal including desserts (sesame mochi balls with anko filling) was 48€ and you can pay by card 😎.

This was back in October 2022, my parents and I ordered the 8 course menu. After 80 minutes, they only had brought dumplings and cucumber salad. Wolt drivers continued to be coming to the restaurant, although it was clear the staff could not keep up with the demand! I complained, but was dismissed by gesture, they did not even offer an apology for the delay! The last straw was that people who arrived later were being served ahead of us! I asked why they are being served first and he replied, these are ‘andere Leute’!!! We decided to leave and only pay for what we consumed, but the owner decided to call the police. I also called them and waited. Suddenly, 3 more plates appeared on our table during the wait! The police officers were very professional and even apologized to us for the bad experience. We only paid for drinks and the two plates and we left. The owner did not offer a single apology, he only seemed defeated. My father died a few weeks later, so thanks for ruining one of the last nights out ever with him!

I ate here years ago and I think it used to be better. The soup dumplings were not very juicy, The Kung Pao chicken was generous but the mildest I've ever had. Almost no chillies, really weak hints of Sichuan peppercorns and doesn't look at all like in the menu. It wasn't bad but definitely not a place to come back to

Laoxiang is definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Berlin. We came for their Sunday brunch deal; 16€ per person for three dishes and free green tea. The food is authentic as you can get!! They are delicious and the portions are huge. I’d highly recommend to skip breakfast if you are planning to take the Sunday brunch deal. Pro tip: you must come early around 11 am to get a table, otherwise you’ll need to queue.

Weekend brunch is great and of good value

Unfortunately, the food has deteriorated significantly. Lao Xiang must have a new chef, otherwise I can't explain the massive loss of quality. Unfortunately we don't live in the area so we haven't been there for a year. It used to be one of the most authentic and best restaurants for Chinese food in Berlin. Today the food is bland and carelessly prepared. Specialties like 皮蛋 are not even supermarket quality. That also explains why there wasn't a Chinese in the restaurant on a Saturday and I think it will be the last time for us too.

We chose to sit in the outdoor seating which turned out to be a mistake on our part as there was a lot of traffic outside. I recommend sitting indoors for a more enjoyable overall experience. The food was fantastic and you were full and satisfied.
