An American-style restaurant. The decor and menu all have a US theme. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Dogs are welcome and even get a water bowl without asking. Now for the food: We had a burger, fries, a baked potato, and a falafel bowl. You get your money's worth with everything. I've rarely eaten anything so delicious. The coleslaw was also very good. Not watery, with a bite, and nice and creamy. Highly recommended! The kids raved about the burger, and the Best of US appetizer was also very good. You should definitely stop by if you're in the area.

We went to brunch with a group of seven on Sunday morning. The buffet seemed well-stocked with all sorts of delicacies – upon closer inspection, tasting, and subsequent discussion with everyone in our group – and without going into too much detail, our conclusion is rather sober: the buffet seemed somewhat lackluster to us and could be described as a "run-of-the-mill buffet" without any real highlights. Unfortunately, the quality of the desserts and cakes was the worst – they were all industrially prepared products. Unfortunately, the refills were also poor – the smoked salmon ran out quickly, as did the mini schnitzels with broccoli, which we unfortunately waited for in vain. All in all, despite the included coffee (and I mean coffee – cappuccino, etc. are extras for an additional charge), it was unfortunately too expensive and not really of consistently good quality. Vegetarians would starve to death here, by the way. Furthermore, the noise level is "loud" – not suitable for polite table conversation with several people. An experience that doesn't need to be repeated anytime soon. The hike along the Stever in beautiful autumn weather was a rewarding day.

A huge American-style restaurant with an equally huge menu, sure to have something for everyone. Salads, pizza, pasta, burgers, steaks, and schnitzel—everyone should get their money's worth here.

Of course, I didn't get a peek into the kitchen, but the patties tasted and looked darn close to industrially produced, mass-produced food heated in a pan. I find that unacceptable at prices starting at €14, even though the location itself is perfectly fine and the service is really good.

The food was very good, but the service was a bit slow, with some long waits. All in all, it's still a nice place and I highly recommend it.

Prices are a bit high, for example, for frozen schnitzel. For that price, you can get freshly prepared meat elsewhere. The salad there is super fresh, though, and the dressing is also very tasty. The skin on the baked potato wasn't crispy enough for me. But you probably can't compare it to a baked potato at a food stand. The ambiance is good, though, and for a beer after a bike ride, it's worth a stop.

The cheapest frozen food at very high prices! I had to spend a whopping €63 there for a frozen Wiener schnitzel with fries, a kids' meal (6 nuggets with fries), a BBQ burger with curly fries, and three drinks. The nuggets, "schnitzel," and fries were dripping with grease. Only the burger was OK, if anything. You won't see us here again, and I can only advise everyone to go to other restaurants, because any chip shop tastes much better.

Very nicely decorated and delicious food

Chose this place as a rest stop during our motorcycle tour and was pleasantly surprised by the location. The service was friendly. The food, however, was probably from a pre-packaged fast food restaurant, and the chef wasn't particularly ambitious. The sweet potato fries were dripping with old grease and tasted like grease. The chicken patty on the burger was burnt black on the bottom. The bread that came with the salad wasn't cooked all the way through.

If you like American diners, this is the place for you. The facility was clean. There's a beach volleyball court. It's definitely nice in the summer. The terrace is large.

Long waits for both food and drinks. And then the food was cold. Even when the place was almost empty, it was more important to clean up than to bring us drinks. Zero stars would be appropriate, but unfortunately, there aren't any.

We went there for the first time today and endured a 45-minute drive. Unfortunately, it was absolutely not worth it. The prices are quite high, the food tasted exactly like it was in a special edition and arrived at the table in less than 10 minutes – which clearly shows to me that the food isn't freshly prepared. The burger patty and the schnitzel were frozen, and the schnitzel with fries cost a whopping €20. I also ordered a Sex on the Beach, which tasted exclusively of cherry juice. After warning the waiter, the manager came over and simply offered me half the price of my cocktail. In the end, I still had to pay €3.60 for a drink, of which I only took two sips (and three-quarters remained standing). In total, we spent €55 for food and drinks that were not fresh in quality and tasted disappointing. For us, it was a clear no-go: once and never again. We could have gone to a cheap chip shop instead.

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant I've ever been to, and I highly recommend it. The food is delicious, the service is very friendly, and the ambiance is wonderful. I definitely recommend it.

The mixed appetizers were great and hot. The burger was a disappointment: lukewarm. The patty was very thick and lacked any roasted flavor. The bun was limp and soggy, as if the burger had been sitting around for a while. A lettuce leaf, three onion rings, and a hint of jalapeño couldn't save it. My complaint, upon inquiry, was blamed on the sauce. Fortunately, I've had better and more appetizing experiences elsewhere. All for €16.50 without any side dish or garnish. The currywurst wasn't to our taste either; it resembled a lump of sausage meat. The homemade berry lemonade turned out to be a ready-made syrup with water and artificial flavor. A shame, such a great place. I hope we just caught a bad day.

Unfortunately, not recommended for vegans. The menu offers no vegan dishes other than fries and a side salad, and even the burger buns aren't vegan. I'd like to give a special shout-out to our waiter, Meron, who was very friendly and immediately brought us the allergen list. The ambiance was fine, but the vegan selection needs some work.

We were there on a weekday after a soggy 10km hike. Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 minutes for service, after several attempts at waving and raising our hands. I think it was because we were seated behind the balcony railing. It was lunchtime and busy, but there was only one server. The food made up for it, and the service was really friendly. I had a super delicious burger and my mom had a bowl. Both were absolutely delicious!

We sat outside and it was great. The burgers were big, the ribs were very tender, and the house bread was amazing! The prices are still reasonable, too!

Everything is tastefully designed both inside and out – modern, yet cozy – making it a great place to linger, whether for a relaxing afternoon coffee or an evening with friends. The food is solid and absolutely fine, but nothing exceptional for my taste. It fills you up and it tastes good, although there are certainly more creative or refined cuisines in the region. The drinks, however, are all the more impressive: whether cocktails or non-alcoholic versions – the selection is excellent and the preparation top-notch. You can tell that quality is important here. The service was friendly and attentive, which further rounds off the positive overall impression. If you're looking for a nice place to enjoy the view over the lake and sample good drinks in a relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely the place for you.

The restaurant was busy but not fully occupied, the interior was pretty empty, and we, two people, had to wait a good 70 minutes for our food! Even though we had only ordered a burger, spare ribs, and wings.

Caution! Don't walk on the lawn, or you'll get into trouble with the caretaker. It's best to keep your children on a leash! If you walk on the lawn once, you'll get dirty looks from the caretaker for years. The caretaker isn't capable of communicating this politely to the local customers. He probably has a degree in lawn management. There wasn't even a shop like this here before, and you could swim for free on the beach. It was also called the Ruhr area's open-air pool. But the city always got into trouble, and the fact that people were swimming without paying... apparently, this couldn't continue.

We waited about 15 minutes and made eye contact with two different waiters a total of five times. Neither of them served us, and even though the place was only moderately busy, we left. The ambiance is pleasant, and the outdoor area is really nice. The food is nothing special, as is typical for a chain, but it's still very tasty. It's a shame, because I've been there several times and had no complaints.

We've been there three times now and have always been very satisfied. The atmosphere is fantastic, with good, quiet background music at a volume that makes it easy to have a conversation. The service and friendliness of the staff outside is exemplary; the inside area could be improved, but is still okay.

We were very disappointed with our visit today. We had reserved a table for 7:30 p.m. and had to wait more than 45 minutes after ordering our food, which we were only informed of after we had already been seated for a few minutes. 45 minutes later, we received our burgers and quickly noticed that both patties were burnt on one side and the curly fries were cold, soggy, and undercooked. We clearly reported these glaring defects to the server, but unfortunately, they only brought a new portion of curly fries to our table, which wasn't good either. We didn't receive any new patties. I would have expected the Lakeside Inn to replace the patties and offer some financial compensation. But unfortunately, that didn't happen. Instead, we had to wait a long time and then get terrible food, all at exorbitant prices. Absolutely outrageous! I can therefore only advise against visiting the Lakeside Inn if it is anything like it was tonight.

It's an interesting American-style wooden house. You can sit inside or outside. We sat inside last time, and an employee kept moving the tables and chairs around, completely disregarding the guests.

We stayed at the Lake Side Inn with a group of adults and children and had a wonderful time. We were looking for a beach with our grandchildren. Unfortunately, the actual beach was closed. We found this location by chance, and it was the best thing that could have happened to us. A really nice outdoor area with lounge chairs, a playground, and all kinds of ball games for everyone to enjoy. A beautiful sandy beach. Swimming is prohibited, but that didn't spoil the wonderful day. At the end of the day, we had something to eat in the restaurant. The super friendly and attentive staff brought us a really good meal. We were extremely impressed with the food. Even the kids loved it. We will definitely visit the Lakeside Inn again. We've been to the Lakeside Inn twice now. The first time, we had the pulled pork burger and the falafel garden bowl. The burger was delicious and juicy with plenty of BBQ sauce. The bowl was also delicious, but completely cold. I had expected at least the falafel to be warm, but I guess I just had the wrong expectations. The homemade lemonades were also good. The second time, we ordered the BBQ Heaven Burger and the Hüttengaudi Burger. This time, unfortunately, they skimped on the burger sauce, and the Hüttengaudi Burger didn't quite live up to my expectations, as the burger buns were replaced with hash browns. Unfortunately, you can't tell from the menu. The lack of a bun also made the burger very greasy and gave me digestive problems. So, not recommended for people who are sensitive to fatty foods. I think it should be highlighted on the menu that this burger is served without a bun.

My first, but also my last, visit. We were there on a warm Friday afternoon to enjoy a delicious meal after a visit to the zoo. My wife didn't want to sit outside on the terrace, preferring to eat inside. At first, we didn't know where to go until I saw the sign saying you could sit anywhere you wanted. We then found a nice spot next to the counter near the restrooms. This table and the one next to it hadn't been cleared yet. After about 10 minutes, someone finally came to clear the table and take our order. Unfortunately, he didn't even clean the table, even though there were still some leftover food on it. When the food finally arrived and we went to pick up the cutlery, there were still dried food particles stuck to some of the forks and knives. The food itself was okay, but no more than a 3. When we were finished, we had to chase the staff to finally pay. What a shame...

If you think you've already seen impressive infrastructure, the Lakeside Inn will prove you wrong. The facility is so spectacular that I thought I was at an amusement park for lovers of good taste – but with no lines and no extra charge. The location, right on the river with a small sandy beach, is like something out of a beach movie. You immediately feel like you're on vacation – only without salt on your feet and sand in your books (or with exactly that, if that's your thing). And you know what particularly struck me? The waiter (Meron) at 9 a.m. – he could easily be a global ambassador of friendliness. Professionalism + good humor = a combination as rare as a green unicorn these days. Breakfast was a true morning song: delicious, invigorating, just the thing to start the day with a smile and energy. And then the background music… for a moment, I thought every guest here was listening to their own personal playlist. But no – technology isn't that advanced yet. And yet, the music I like was playing. An acoustic puzzle that made my morning coffee even better. And I'm saying this quite clearly: Every time I return to the Hoher Niemen Freizeitpark campsite, this will definitely be my go-to place for food.

It's quite nice as a day-trip restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't quite match the prices. Next time, we'll try the self-service area in front of the restaurant.

We ate here last night and weren't entirely satisfied because the burgers were cold. I returned my chili cheeseburger and asked for a hot one. When my family was finished eating, I got my new burger, which, like the fries, was just as cold as the first one. A real shame, because the cheese sauce was also very thick! The appetizers were delicious and the service was very friendly. Maybe we were just unlucky, but we paid over €100 and were still disappointed. On August 16th, we were hiking around Haltern am See with a large group of hikers (about 25 people) and stopped at the Lakeside Inn two-thirds of the way through. The pleasant ambiance immediately struck us upon arrival: the restaurant is spacious and inviting. The large outdoor terrace behind the restaurant is particularly noteworthy – perfect for taking a break in a relaxed atmosphere with a view of the water. There are also plenty of seating options in front of the restaurant, although these are located in the self-service area. This is convenient for those who prefer uncomplicated dining and want to grab something quickly. It was ideal for our large group – plenty of space, a lovely ambiance, and an all-around pleasant break. Highly recommended, whether for hikers, cyclists, or simply for a relaxing day out.

There is a lot to do for both adults and children, you can also walk in the forest which is very nice.

One positive thing: We were immediately informed at reception that due to high customer volume, we would have to wait 60 minutes for our food. I think it's great that they communicate this openly and honestly, so you know where you stand. One negative, however: We actually waited a total of 85 minutes, despite having a reservation. We weren't the only guests who were surprised by this. I also noticed that the quality and selection of burgers used to be better. I miss the burger with arugula and parmesan :( I can get a bacon or cheeseburger elsewhere. There are two burgers that are a bit more unusual, but that's about it. I also feel like the burgers used to be bigger. Ultimately, the price-performance ratio is no longer good, which I find very unfortunate. The patty was so overcooked that it was dry, and the rest of the burger was tasteless. It was nicely presented, but that was it. The prices are simply too high for the quality of the food (burgers, sides, schnitzel). The service was friendly but chaotic. Tables weren't cleared promptly (after meals or after drinks have been finished), and dishes were left on the table for ages. New drinks were brought, but the empty glasses were simply left there. As I said, friendly but very chaotic and at times uncaring. They say you can tell a good restaurant by its restrooms... sorry guys, but it was dirty, there was paper everywhere, the paper towels were empty, and all in all, it felt like a rest stop bathroom. The location and the setting itself are beautiful. However, the service and food still have a lot of room for improvement. It was our first time there and it will also be our last. The value for money is definitely not right here.

This was our first time at the Lakeside Inn, and I have to say, I highly recommend it. From the free parking to the ambiance, the very courteous and professional staff, and the high-quality food, it was simply fantastic. The long journey was worth it, and we'll definitely be back when the time comes.

There's a new concept. There are tracks outside the restaurant, and we're no longer served through the restaurant. I travel with a blind patient every two weeks. This means I have to walk through the restaurant with my patient, which has very tight seating, which is very stressful! Hence only 4 stars! It was different at the beginning of the year. They would also serve outside. It's an imposition, especially for people with disabilities!

We were there today with five people, even though it was packed. We still got a nice spot. We were told that the food would take a little longer, but the service was still quick and very friendly. So, it won't be the last time we're there 😜

Haltern am See, a popular destination for bikers, motorists and cyclists

During our stopover in Haltern, we visited the restaurant. It offers a huge amount of space for all group sizes. It was quite loud inside due to the sound system, but outside you could have a pleasant conversation. The service staff was always attentive. The dishes and drinks were very tasty. The price was a bit high for my taste, but manageable. The location and the food were definitely worth a visit if you can/can afford it.

We walked around the lake and happily sat on this platform almost at the end of the route. Crispy sausages at a reasonable price - 4 euros/XXL - and a choice of tasty beer: regular, with lemon, non-alcoholic, non-alcoholic with lemon. We didn't get around to ice cream - we had to go further :)

Unfortunately, the food today wasn't that good. The burger was cold, and the pizza wasn't that great either. We've had better food there. It's a shame. We had to drive 40 kilometers.

Die Reservierung hat reibungslos funktioniert, und wir wurden sehr freundlich zum Tisch geführt. Dort lag bereits eine Speisekarte aus, sodass wir nach etwa zehn Minuten unsere ersten Getränke bestellen konnten. Leider erhielten wir von den Mitarbeitern keine weiteren Karten, weshalb wir uns selbst darum kümmern mussten, was schon etwas ungewöhnlich war. Nachdem die Getränke gebracht wurden, konnten wir unsere Speisen bestellen – keine komplizierten Gerichte, sondern eine leckere Vorspeise und Hauptspeisen. Die Vorspeise kam relativ zügig (30min), doch danach begann das Warten. Nach rund 30 Minuten kam dann endlich die erste Hauptspeise, eine Pizza, allerdings alleine. Das führte dazu, dass eine Person alleine essen musste oder das Essen kalt geworden wäre. Die anderen Hauptgerichte folgten erst deutlich später, wobei auch ein Burger zunächst vergessen wurde. Dieser wurde dann aber schnell nachgereicht, was sehr nett war. Ein weiterer kleiner Kritikpunkt war, dass das Essen bei allen Gerichten nur lauwarm war – geschmacklich zwar sehr gut, jedoch definitiv nicht ideal. Außerdem wurde der Tisch nicht zwischendurch abgeräumt, obwohl die Getränke zügig bestellt wurden. Als zum Schluss abgeräumt wurde, geschah dies leider sehr hektisch, wodurch ein ziemliches Chaos entstand. Zusammenfassend war der Besuch im Lakeside Inn leider durchwachsen. Die Atmosphäre war sehr angenehm, und ich hoffe, dass der Service und die Organisation in Zukunft noch besser werden.

Unser Besuch im Lakeside Inn in Haltern am See für das Big Breakfast Buffet war rundum positiv. Die Möglichkeit, spontan online einen Tisch zu reservieren, machte alles super einfach. Bei unserer Ankunft gab es genügend kostenfreie Parkplätze direkt am Restaurant, was den Start in den Tag sehr angenehm machte. Das Lakeside Inn liegt wunderschön inmitten der Natur, was schon bei der Ankunft für eine entspannte Stimmung sorgt. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und zu unserem Tisch begleitet. Besonders schön war, dass wir die Wahl zwischen einem Tisch in der Mitte des Restaurants und einem Fenstertisch hatten, was uns das Gefühl gab, dass auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen wird. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich, mit einer großen Auswahl an klassischen Frühstücksoptionen und besonderen Leckereien. Die Qualität der Speisen war durchweg hoch, und es war für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Ein kleiner Hinweis: Für meine Größe von 1,75 m war der Aufbau des Buffets etwas hoch, was für manche Gäste eine kleine Herausforderung sein könnte ;) Das Personal verdient ein besonderes Lob. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und kam regelmäßig an unseren Tisch, um sicherzustellen, dass alles in Ordnung ist und ob wir noch etwas bestellen möchten. Dieser Service trug maßgeblich zu unserem Wohlbefinden bei. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war die etwas laute Atmosphäre im Restaurant. Es waren viele Kinder anwesend, die herumliefen und für eine lebhafte Geräuschkulisse sorgten. Persönlich habe ich nichts gegen Kinder, aber für Gäste, die eine ruhigere Umgebung bevorzugen, könnte dies etwas störend sein :) Insgesamt war unser Besuch im Lakeside Inn sehr angenehm, und wir können das Big Breakfast Buffet wärmstens empfehlen. Die Kombination aus leckerem Essen, freundlichem Service und der schönen Lage macht es zu einem idealen Ort für ein entspanntes Frühstück.

We have been waiting for the food for a good hour now. When we asked, the nice waitress went to the kitchen and came back with the good news that it would take another half an hour. No bread in advance or when asked, we are sitting here and are simply starving.
