Best tapas restaurant in SB! Definitely recommend it to everyone. Six of us were there and we simply ordered a lot from the menu and shared it. Perfect evening with friends! I also really liked the fact that you could simply mark what you wanted on the menu and pass the slip to the server.

We've known La Cantina Tapas Bar for years; in fact, we've been coming back ever since it opened. What we always order, every person, is the super delicious pan con aioli. Lately, we've noticed that the portions are getting smaller and smaller, and the aioli bowls aren't filled to the brim like they used to, which is a real shame. Otherwise, the food is always excellent and freshly prepared, and there's nothing to complain about. However, it would be really nice if there were some variations on the main menu every now and then, perhaps 2-3 additional dishes that could be chosen as a weekly special?! Just a suggestion for variety. Since the menu has remained the same since the beginning, it would be nice to be able to try something different every now and then. Despite this minor criticism, we look forward to visiting again soon.

A very nice little tapas bar. My husband and I love tapas and went there on the recommendation of a friend. We really enjoyed it. The tapas are delicious and served one at a time so you can eat everything warm. They make sure that the dishes that come together are a good match. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The value for money was excellent, especially compared to other tapas bars in Saarbrücken. We will definitely be back.

There are several tapas restaurants in Saarbrücken. This is my favorite. I've been going there regularly for over 10 years. Especially on Sundays when they have a buffet. In the summer, you can sit comfortably outside in the sun. The food is always fresh, and the bread is homemade and delicious. The service is very friendly.

For me, this is definitely the best tapas restaurant in the Saarbrücken area. The tapas definitely don't taste run-of-the-mill, but are finely seasoned. The value for money is absolutely excellent. We had a great evening in a cozy atmosphere and delicious sangria 🍷🤗 Update July 2025: Since my last review, I've been back to La Cantina. Unfortunately, the quality and taste of the food have declined considerably 😪 The sangria also tasted like it came out of a Tetra Pak. Too bad, we were very disappointed (compared to the last time) 🥺

According to Google Maps it's open on a Wednesday at 9pm, but it's actually closed with no explanation or anything on the door.

Absolutely exceeded our expectations! Update after 5 years in which we unfortunately couldn't get there due to the distance: Still just as great as back then! How you can taste so perfectly and prepare even the simplest dishes ingeniously and with a special twist can only be explained with magic! And all of this at an absolutely low price! We'll come back more often now and enjoy!

Very nice little tapas restaurant, wide selection, relaxed atmosphere

The food was ok, maybe a bit too expensive compared to the quality. What we didn't like was a woman who played Spanish music for about 20 minutes and then asked for money at every table. The cooking was slow but still acceptable.

For us the best tapas in the Saarbrücken area. Been going there regularly for years. Tasty, high quality and fair price (compared to other tapas restaurants in the area). When the house is full, the service drops off a bit, but that's understandable with some waitresses. Tapas are great and we always feel welcome! Definitely recommended

Yesterday we visited the restaurant with four people. The table was reserved and a few hours before our visit we received a friendly call saying that we were welcome to come before 6:30 p.m. as the table would be reassigned at 9:15 p.m. When we arrived at the agreed time, the restaurant was already busy. At the table we were again informed that we had to be seated by 9:00 p.m. at the latest. There was also a charmingly packaged note that cash was very welcome – both of which were fine. The food was consistently good, although there were some delays in serving. So we initially received our chicken without the side dishes we ordered, which were only added later. We also had to reorder or remind ourselves of the homemade, very tasty bread several times. The best aioli is of little use if there is no bread or side dishes. The coordination didn't work quite smoothly here. At 8:30 p.m. we were again informed that the table would soon be needed again. They don't want to compliment us out, but we could move to a neighboring table. This irritated me a bit as our table was right at the counter – not necessarily the most attractive position. I later noticed that my jacket, which was hanging over the chair, was covered in sauce - probably a mishap during the serving process. Not a drama, but an indication of the cramped conditions and a sign that it just wasn't the best location. A change would certainly have been an improvement. We left shortly after the notice. Conclusion: Light and shadow are balanced, with a slightly positive trend. Ultimately, everyone should have their own experiences. Overall it was okay for us, but whether there will be a repeat remains to be seen. I know one or two addresses in Saarbrücken that are by no means worse and offer a larger selection. Still, four stars overall for the overall experience.

After our first visit over 2 years ago, during which this restaurant failed to convince us, mainly due to very long waiting times and a rather unstructured, sometimes overwhelmed service, we tested this tapas bar a second time today, and this time we were rather positively surprised. The service was once again very friendly, but with a much better all-round view, so that there were rarely longer waiting times. This time, the tapas we ordered were also served quite quickly, even when all the tables in the rustically nicely furnished, manageably large restaurant were occupied. The nicely prepared tapas were overall really good in terms of taste and quality, especially the tapas typical of a “first round” (serrano, Manchego, queso and aioli). The sizes of the individual portions were optimal for one person and largely suitable for the price, but if you wanted to try a dish for two people the sizes were rather tight, but it would be possible. In direct comparison to other good tapas bars in Saarbrücken, in our opinion the taste of the tapas here is about the same level, although we are also familiar with a noticeably stronger tapas bar not too far away. The composition plates were quite varied, but as expected, the individual tapas were only about half as large as if you ordered them individually, and they only contain cheaper tapas. Overall, we can recommend a visit to this tapas bar, where the backdrop can be quite loud and where a singer with a guitar occasionally stops by and plays a few songs. We ourselves can also imagine being guests here again in the future.

We have always been very satisfied with the buffet. Unfortunately it was on December 22nd. disappointing. All dishes lukewarm to cold. Otherwise the taste is good as always. Despite the many advance reservations, only the dates were refilled. If you weren't there before 6 p.m., you were out of luck. Sangria watered down, otherwise much better. Service ok.

Despite the rehearsal dinner, our order for a Christmas party was simply forgotten and the restaurant was reassigned. We are now standing in front of a closed door with 30 people and the buffet goes to others. Planning really is everything!

Very good tapas bar, perhaps the best in Saarbrücken. Very good open wines and the platters for 1 or 2 people are great. There are many things you can try. Good value for money.

My husband and I were in the mood for a Spanish meal, so we found this place on Google Maps and the experience was wonderful. The tapas were spectacular. An explosion of flavors on the palate. The attention was 100%. We were served by a wonderful blonde girl (I forgot to ask her name) who also speaks Spanish perfectly, and she made us feel very welcome. To finish we had a shot of a delicious Canarian rum. I definitely recommend this place. We will return!!!

A pearl of tapas cuisine!!! Rarely have I eaten tapas in a restaurant where it felt and tasted completely authentic and not like a Peusdo-Spanish atmosphere with overpriced small bites. Attentive service, cozy atmosphere (lots of fairy lights, dim lighting) and great value for money, really top! I hope you stay with SB for a long time.

A small, very cozy restaurant. Large selection of tapas. We had 9 pieces in total and ALL of them tasted very tasty. The price of beer was surprising - where can you still get a 0.5l of wheat for 3.80 euros today?? Very friendly and fast service from a young team. Definitely coming back!

When we arrived, we were assigned to a corner table that was right next to a group of approximately 30 (loud) people, so that it was absolutely impossible to get through freely. The passage to the toilets was also “nicely” in this narrow space. Since this was a self-service buffet, it's easy to imagine how this tightness led to constant standing, moving chairs, and jockeying. The group's behavior was anything but considerate. I myself was placed next to the constantly opening and closing front door. The outside temperature that evening: minus 6 degrees C. and it was cold! My request to change the table was not granted. Dear restaurateurs, we encourage you to take into account when making future reservations that there are other guests in addition to the large paying group. You can point this out in advance or refer to it as “fully booked”. So we can decide for ourselves whether it suits us or not. The only bright spot: the food was of good quality. 1 star for that. Otherwise: a disaster. A pity.

The tapas were all delicious! I particularly liked the marinated peppers and the sheep's cheese with tomatoes. Unfortunately it was too cold in the restaurant and unfortunately we sat right next to the door and it always felt incredibly cold when someone came in. Maybe install an intermediate door or curtain.

It was once again a culinary short vacation... Thank you. I could “sit” on the aioli.

Wir haben gemütlich mit 4 Personen hier den Abend verbracht. Die Tapas, die wir als Vorspeise hatten war sehr lecker. Die Karte bietet ausreichend Auswahl. Wir hatten Paella vorbestellt und die war super lecker. Die Portion war riesig. Später gab es noch spanische Gitarrenmusik - live. Das gab dem Abend nochmal ein schöner Flair. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und angenehm. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Essen zwar sehr lecker aber das Buffet war um 19Uhr bereits größtenteils leer (gerade weil das Restaurant erst um 18Uhr geöffnet hatte und jeder Tisch bereits vorab reserviert wurde). Zuerst war das Brot leer, bei einem Tapas Buffet, die Kartoffeln und jede 2. Schale anschließend bis um 19Uhr kaum noch was zu Essen aufgestellt wurde. Auf Nachfrage in der Küche hieß es “alles leer”. Da waren wir doch schon stark überrascht, bei einem Buffet für 22,90€ konnten wir gerade einmal 2 kleine Teller essen. Schade, geschmacklich haben die Tapas Potenzial aber für ein Buffet müsst ihr beim nächsten mal besser etwas mehr einkaufen Service war sehr überfordert heute, wir wurden nur zu Beginn nach Getränken gefragt und mussten jede weitere Bestellung in der Küche selbst bestellen. Auch fehlten die Gläser bei der Wasserbestellung. Ich hoffe heute war eine Ausnahme, die Bewertungen versprachen uns vorab mehr.

Vorweg : Essen war gut. Aber der Service unterirdisch . . . Von den bestellten 6 Tapas kamen nach über einer halben Std. 3 - dann Pause. Erbärmliche 3,5 Scheibchen Brot in einem Brotkorb für 20. Wieder halbe Std. später kamen die restlichen Tapas. Noch 1 Scheibe Brot im Korb und netterweise die Frage ob noch Brot kommen soll - dann Korb weg und kam mit einer (kein Witz) Extrascheibe wieder . . Also abbuzze, zahlen und ins nächste Restaurant

wir waren heute abend in diesem spanischen Resto, wunderbar, was geboten wurde. sehr freundlicher Empfang, super nette Bedienung, die auf alle Spässe und sonstige Wünsche eingegangen ist. dann die Bestellung, einfach unkompliziert und sehr gut aufgenommen. das Essen, frisch zubereitet, toll gredenzt, schmackhaft und vorallem zauberhaft serviert. wir haben schon einige Restos ausprobiert, aber solch einen Spanier in SB noch nicht erlebt. Nous avons voulu manger ce jour 18 février 2022. La personne à l accueil était désagréable ! Elle nous a demandé notre pass Vaccinal nous avons les 3 injection dont la dernière injection à moins de 90 jours. Ce que la règle allemande exige à ce jour. La personne qui ne parlait ni anglais ni français nous a demandé une attestation de guérison du COVID comment aurait-elle pu comprendre le document alors qu elle ne parle pas français !!!!!! Nous sommes partis on a trouvé un autre restaurant où nous avons était très bien accueillis et avec notre pass nous sommes rentrés dans problème..... Il est dommage que des personnes incapables soient à de tel poste !!! Restaurant à éviter pour son accueil !!!!

Seit einigen Jahren feiern wir hier unser Weihnachtsessen. Das ganze Lokal ist dann nur für uns. Es gibt ein leckeres Buffet, das immer wieder aufgefüllt. Wird. Das Personal ist nett und zuvorkommend.

Gute Speisen und sehr netter Service. Wir kommen immer gerne wieder :)

Meiner Meinung nach die beste Tapas Bar in Saarbrücken. Rustikal aber mit Charme eingerichtet. Tapas sind super lecker. Mein Favorit: Chorizo Aber man sollte so viel wie möglich probieren, da alles wirklich lecker ist. Sonntags das Buffet ist auch toll. Alles was man so möchte ist da 😀 Anmerken möchte ich noch, dass die Bedienung immer sehr freundlich ist. Also: immer wieder gerne La Cantina

Beste Tapas in SB. Sehr lecker, tolle und authentische Küche, immer freundliche Mitarbeiter. Ablauf super, da nicht alles auf einmal serviert wird und man dann gemütlich essen und reden kann. Tolle Getränkekarte, vor allem die Weine. Eine wirklich schöne Tapasbar, sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal in einem authentischen Ambiente. Die Speisen sind qualitativ sehr hochwertig und die Auswahl ist mehr als ausreichend. Aufjedenfall vor dem Besuch einen Tisch reservieren.

Das La Cantina ist eine kleine, aber gemütliche Tapas Bar in St. Arnual. Wir waren schon öfter dort Tapas (Sonntag Abend Buffet) gegessen, jetzt waren wir dort zum frühstücken, jeder hat sich das spanische Frühstück bestellt, ich kann nur eins sagen; Hammer. Mega viel und sehr lecker und für 11 Euro (ohne Getränke) günstig.

Kleine Tapas Bar. Super Essen, total nette Mitarbeiterinnen. Man muss reservieren sonst wird s schwer nen Tisch zu bekommen.

Hier gibt es gute Tapas. Drin sitzt man schön, draußen an der Straße nicht. Der Service ist zum Teil etwas langsam und unbeholfen sowie sehr distanziert. Die Getränke waren auch nicht der brüller.

Ganz guteTapas. Allerdings war es vor einiger Zeit noch besser. Die Qualität hat sich meiner Meinung nach verschlechtert. Sardellen wurden mir als Boquerones serviert obwohl ich Boquerones bestellt hatte. Der Kellner meinte auf Nachfrage das es der gleiche Fisch sei und dass das immer so serviert würde. Ja es ist der gleiche Fisch aber komplett anders zubereitet. Auf Nachfrage beim Koch teilte er mit, dass es derzeit keine Boquerones gibt. Warum nicht gleich so oder von der Karte nehmen? Wenigstens würden die Sardellen zurückgenommen und nicht berechnet.

There are three reasonable Tapas bars in Saarbrücken these days. This one is by far the best. Very tasty bites, very friendly staff.

The place is quite small and not easy to find at first, but those who make it there, will be gratified with great selection of food and vines, besides obligatory (and so good) tapas and snacks on the bar. Ask for homemade bread, it's just perfect! Definitely recommend for family dinner as well as for romantic evening! Hands down the best Spanish place in town.

One of my most favourite restaurants, I love the tapas, especially the papas arrugadas! The servings are pretty big and not at all expensive, the service is friendly and the restaurant has a stylish but cosy flair. I can also recommend the Sangria ;)

The reason to be here is Paella. My friends and I ordered it beforehand for 10 people. The volume was huge. We were offered a big pan full of shrimps, mussels, chicken, paprika, ... and of course well-cooked rice. We didn't have room in our stomaches for anything else. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, just as a Spanish restaurant should be.
