It's hard to believe, but right in the heart of Dresden's tourist hotspot, they actually serve delicious, fresh food. And the prices are absolutely reasonable! I had the fried catfish, which was delicious and juicy. The potato salad with bacon was fresh and very tasty, and it came with a well-prepared side salad. The cucumber salad was equally fresh and light. It also looked great. Of course, the beer is on tap. Tables book up quickly, so you might want to make a reservation. Dogs are welcome. A definite recommendation.

We knew it as Kleppereck. But the Kutscherschänke is in no way inferior. The rustic, quaint atmosphere has been preserved. The service staff is very hardworking, the chefs cook excellently, and the portions are generous. Very child-friendly, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. The food was delicious, but the service was awful. The waiter had no idea what “100 ml of whiskey” meant and first brought me just 20 ml. Later I asked for three portions, and he brought 140 ml — three large pours and one small one. It honestly felt like a joke at my expense. On top of that, he never brought knives or napkins. We ordered two dishes: syrniki and a platter with different kinds of meat and sausage — both were really tasty. Too bad the great food was spoiled by such poor service.

I have to say, this restaurant is worth a trip to Dresden. Located on the banks of the Elbe, it offers a beautiful view, and we'd barely sat down when the waiter arrived. The ribs were so tender and delicious, the bone could be removed with two gentle tugs. The cabbage roll was a dream. The duck was also super tender. So, it's best to reserve a table inside in advance. However, that wasn't a problem since it was pleasantly warm outside. First, we ordered our drinks, which arrived quickly. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for the food. Which I suppose is quite normal. It was delicious, but unfortunately, some of the vegetables were lukewarm when we received our order. That's bearable. Both servers were friendly and helpful. It was a great experience, highly recommended. 👍

We ate a super delicious "original Dresden Eierscheke" (egg cake) here and drank a hot chocolate with it. The base of the Eierscheke was nice and soft, and the filling was just like it was when I was a child. Not too sweet and not too heavy. It's simply perfect. The hot chocolate tastes great even at 30 degrees Celsius. Nice and chocolatey and not too heavy. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger and enjoy. We'd be happy to come back anytime.

It's strange that the schnitzel was served with sauce, but maybe that's a local specialty. We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. We chose this restaurant. Despite rush hour, we found a place inside when the weather outside got worse. We ordered a dish, the first one was brought in about 5 minutes. I waited for the second one for about twenty minutes and had to go and find out why it was taking so long from the waiter. The waiter didn't understand anything (language barrier), and when he did, he told me to wait another 10 minutes. The impressions from the service were absolutely disgusting. Now about the food itself. Wonderful soup, very tasty second course, and in the second course everything was as if selected - steaks, sausages, meat, potatoes, mushrooms and everything was cooked to the highest standard. That's why the rating for the establishment is a solid three.

Attention!! Very rude male mid-age waiter! We were very shocked to experience this in Dresden! We asked for recommendations but he refused and just claimed he was busy! Moreover, he blamed us for his wrong order and claimed everything was the same from the menu. It was very surprising this high review restaurant having such a rude waiter! Despite reserving a standard table, we were assigned a high-top table. Since my companion couldn't get to it due to health reasons, the waitress behind the counter suggested we ask again if we could be seated elsewhere. When we didn't respond immediately, she ANGERLY repeated her words and added, "My God..." with a rolling of her eyes. I then told her that was very rude and inhospitable. But she wasn't interested. An apology would have been the least I could have done. I would have gladly left the restaurant immediately! But my companion wanted to stay anyway. The young waiter was friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is rustic but cozy. Schlager music played in the background. Which I liked because I enjoy that kind of music. But it's not to everyone's taste. The restrooms were clean. The food (veal liver, dark beer-style beef, and baked feta with basil pasta) was delicious.

Hidden away in the recesses of the city walls, it's a very atmospheric place. It's very popular in the evenings. Despite the crowds, service is quick and efficient. The cuisine is typically German, with plenty of fried meat and vegetables. Everything is delicious, though it's a substantial calorie count. A beer there tastes excellent on a summer evening. I recommend it.
