Very good food, nice, courteous service, but not necessarily Indian ambience

A first-class taste and service experience! I was immediately impressed upon entering the restaurant: a simple, pleasant atmosphere that immediately invites you to feel at home. The food is a true taste experience – I've never experienced anything like it before. The staff is highly professional, attentive, and yet warm. You immediately sense the passion they put into their work. I can truly recommend this restaurant to everyone and look forward to becoming a regular guest. Yep. The food was great again. The only drawback is that you can book tables in two shifts, so the evening ended rather abruptly because the later booking was coming up. When booking, make sure you always reserve the late time slot to ensure a nice, relaxed, and enjoyable evening.

Great location, a bit small but quite cozy. Very friendly and efficient service. The selection of dishes is manageable, and accordingly fresh and excellent. The vegetarian selection is a bit limited, except for the sauces; there's still a lot of potential for improvement here. It would be desirable to use more vegetables and fresh ingredients; the cheese options (there were two vegetarians with us) weren't satisfactory, neither in terms of taste nor selection...a real shame. But for the rest of the group, it was a delight, and I can recommend the restaurant. The parking situation at the restaurant is a bit difficult...there are about 6-9 parking spaces in the backyard, but very narrow and confusing...not a problem for experienced drivers...There are, however, a few options along the street that involve a bit of a walk, but—no problem. All in all, a great place with delicious dishes. Not really recommended for vegetarians, at least not in our opinion, as the prices are a bit high. They could offer more or more different dishes, at least in the vegetarian section... That's not usually a big challenge in Indian cuisine. We'd be happy to come back. P.S.: definitely reserve a table in advance.

I recently visited Kurkuma, and as someone from India, I was hoping for authentic flavors. Unfortunately, the dishes were very disappointing — the spices were unbalanced, and the food lacked the depth and freshness that define Indian cuisine. It felt like the cook doesn’t truly know how to prepare Indian dishes, and I believe a change in the kitchen or better knowledge of authentic cooking is needed. I left feeling quite let down, especially since this was my first visit.

Cozy atmosphere, attentive but not overly pretentious service – very pleasant! We asked for advice on the food, and it completely won us over – a taste explosion! We'll definitely be back and consider Kurkuma 400 a special place to go out.

The food was incredibly delicious. The tikka paneer was perfectly marinated, but the sauce was a bit too mild (for my taste). My boyfriend had the chili paneer and was super happy with it! The samosas are a dream, and the service was fantastic! Highly recommended ☺️

At Kurkuma 400°, everything is just right: The food is extremely delicious, from mildly spicy dishes to spicy classics like Madras, all perfectly seasoned and freshly prepared, as if it came straight from India. The name says it all: With a clay oven that heats up to 400°C, the restaurant guarantees authentic flavors and attention to detail.

Third time on this culinary hill, and I'm impressed every time – the vegetarian starters and main courses are fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The colors and aromas are definitely not to be missed!

Quick, friendly service. Great tandoori dishes, naan (cheese, garlic, tomato) and chutneys. Staff had no problem with a large English-speaking group. Located nearby the Schloss Neuhaus, so it's a great way to end a tour. Would return!

Excellent Indian cuisine in a slightly more upscale setting. One of the best Indian restaurants in Germany. I'm always impressed. Not only are the spices exceptionally well-balanced, but each individual ingredient is cooked to perfection, and the ingredients are of very high quality. I've rarely had such flavorful cauliflower. Add to that the exceptionally polite and attentive service.

This was our third visit to Kurkuma400, and we traveled a special 70km to enjoy it. The Indian cuisine was once again a real treat. We especially recommend the grilled chicken skewers, served on a stand at the table. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

The food was good, but priced on the higher end. The atmosphere, however, is terrible. (We sat outside, where the exhaust system made a tremendous amount of noise the whole time.) This seems to be a constant occurrence here. Furthermore, the ambiance outside is rather low-key. (Puffy exposed concrete slabs in the backyard, near the restrooms.) The biggest problem, however, is the parking situation. The restaurant only has a few spaces. When the crowds are busy, it's a matter of chance to find a parking space nearby. Especially annoying in bad weather. And the police are always writing tickets... :-(

We ordered for pickup for the first time today and were completely satisfied with everything. The service was very attentive, and I loved the ambiance, even though we were just picking up. And the food was all delicious and of high quality. We can definitely recommend it and will definitely order/come back.

The evening was absolutely fantastic. The food was outstanding. What I have to particularly highlight is the service. Unfortunately, I don't know the man's name. But the (head) waiter is an absolute professional, something I haven't seen in a long time. Always keeping an eye on all the guests, prompt and courteous. That's very rare these days. Absolutely recommended!

**Unfortunately, our visit wasn't convincing.** The food was served quickly, but the portions were rather small. The meat was particularly disappointing: dry and so overpowered by the spices that its own flavor was barely distinguishable. The service also left much to be desired. The waiter seemed inattentive, and although we would have liked more, we weren't given the opportunity to order more drinks – even eye contact was barely possible. It's a shame, because we were looking forward to a pleasant evening.

My husband and I recently returned for another visit and were able to enjoy the beautifully decorated ambiance outside in the garden. But of course, we can't forget the aromatic food. We especially love the spinach and the long-marinated chicken. It's served spectacularly on a hanging skewer by the incredibly pleasant staff. It's always a great pleasure for us to eat there. Turmeric is always worth a visit.

We were here for the first time today, but certainly not our last. The food is simply outstanding. The starters were great, as were the main courses. The meat is so tender that it slides effortlessly off the tandoori skewer, and the sauces and chutneys are delicious. The marinade is delicious, as are the side dishes. The drinks are also excellent. The service is super friendly, very attentive, and always there to help. We had a small baby with us and were immediately offered a table that also had room for the Maxi-Cosi. A stroller would have been no problem either. The ambience is inviting and very elegant. At the same time, the old half-timbered building has a very special charm and exudes coziness.

Overall, everything was great. Especially the good advice from the waiter. Thank you very much for that!

I'm truly thrilled with Kurkuma 400 in Paderborn. From the very first moment, everything was just perfect. The appetizers were incredibly delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavor. The main course was even better. The meat was tender as butter and perfectly seasoned; you can immediately tell that they use high-quality ingredients. The spices are so finely balanced that every bite is a true taste experience. Everything was just right—nothing too spicy, nothing too mild. For me, this was one of the best restaurant visits in a long time. The service was also top-notch. The waiters are attentive, friendly, and very professional. You just feel completely at home. When I'm in Paderborn, I will definitely eat there again. It certainly won't be my last visit.

First time visit 14/07/25 we were made to feel so welcome and we didn’t have a reservation even though it was busy, they found us a table. Do good we went back the next night again. Highly recommend wonderful food and friendly staff.

We were there for a small birthday dinner with three people on a Monday without a reservation. Despite the tense reservation situation, we were warmly escorted to our table, which is unfortunately very rare these days, and a truly perfect evening began. Macro: The inconspicuous half-timbered house, where the Kurkuma 400° restaurant is located, presents a truly beautiful setting upon entering! It has a very relaxing, calming feel, and at the same time, everything is polished and well-maintained! Since our last visit, which was shortly after opening, quite a lot has changed! And it wasn't even necessary! The interior, the perfectly integrated design into the half-timbered house, the decor, and the "glass kitchen" now separated by frosted glass are truly eye-catching! The well-maintained and clean bathrooms are also worth mentioning. Micro: For the main part, after being escorted to our table by the truly professional service, we were served a revised and slightly slimmed-down menu (my impression, if I remember correctly). And that's exactly what I find perfect! There's a wide selection of cold and warm starters, main courses with chicken, lamb, and, of course, today, even wholesome vegetarian dishes. A menu with "Chef's Creations" is also included, featuring truly delicious dishes. We opted for chicken dishes and various side dishes, which were prepared really quickly. Let me reveal at this point: not even a single soup comes out of a packet! The cuisine here is truly excellent, as the English communication with the waiter confirmed. Truly masterful! After the aforementioned sophisticated service guided us through our dishes (especially the rustic presentation of the skewers), the meal could begin. It was truly perfect down to the last detail! The spices, the individual components of the sauces, marinades, and everything were seasoned down to the smallest detail! The quality of the meat alone spoke for itself! Everything simply tasted fresh and aromatic! I could go on and on about the attention to detail, the play of light, the garnishes, and the cutlery, but that would require another hundred lines. Unfortunately, Indian cuisine's reputation precedes it in Germany, but if you really want to experience culinary perfection, this is the place for you! I've never experienced anything like this at any other restaurant in Europe! AMAZING! And something I've never said before: I'm actually curious to see if a Michelin star will soon be displayed on the restaurant's wall! Full marks!

The food is wonderful, with something for everyone, whether vegetarian or meat-based, it's always a treat. If you have any questions, everything is explained in detail. We'll definitely be back!

The focus is on the food. The dining room is clean, and the smells of food remain subtle. However, it's a bit cramped, and the neighboring table is quite close. The menu and the advice are exemplary. The selection on the menu is completely convincing, whether vegan, vegetarian, or with meat. There's not too much, not too little. The prices seem reasonable. We enjoyed the food immensely. It was well worth the money. I can therefore recommend this restaurant.

Kurkuma 400° offers upscale Indian cuisine. As always, the food and drinks were excellent. The service was also excellent. Since the restaurant isn't very large, reservations are recommended.

When my wife asked if everything was satisfactory and said it was a bit too spicy for her, she was immediately brought a yogurt dip that somewhat neutralized the spiciness. All on the house. First of all, this was my first time eating Indian food, so I can't compare it to the taste of other restaurants. What I liked was that you can book a table online. The downside is that there's a time limit of 1.5 hours. The food itself came very quickly, but if the atmosphere is right and you feel comfortable, the time flies, and then you have to leave. I liked the atmosphere. What I didn't know was that you can also eat outside behind the house. It wasn't described on the website, or I missed it. A few pictures would have been nice. I sat outside, and it was very pleasant. Two things bothered me, though: the way to the kitchen led from outside through a side entrance. This was as hidden from view as possible, but it could be improved. What bothers me about most restaurants is the closeness of the tables to other guests. There are no partitions or plants. I was lucky enough to have three guests sitting next to me who didn't exactly talk quietly, which was very annoying for me. I wish things like this were done differently. I have nothing negative to say about the staff; they were very nice and always attentive. As for the food, all I can say is, never again. It has nothing to do with this restaurant, but Indian isn't my thing. My girlfriend has been there several times, but it wasn't for me. Although I had roasted onions as a starter, which were delicious, the main course was quite small compared to my girlfriend's. I had to help her with the chicken and lamb skewers. The taste was so-so for me. Overall, this restaurant is worth a visit for fans of Indian cuisine.

This is my third time at Kurkuma. It is by far one of the best restaurants in the area. The first time I went there, I immediately noticed how much the waitresses identify with their employer (the restaurant) and how well they treat their guests (including us, of course). They know their dishes, give great advice, and even recognize that you've been there before and greet you with "Welcome back!" The food there is simply very good, the service is excellent, and the staff very friendly. I can say 10 out of 10. P.S. They (the Kurkuma team) are doing something very important "Absolutely right!"

A place of relaxation thanks to delicious food, a pleasant, quiet atmosphere and well-trained service

First visit. It's still like it used to be in the old customs house near Pfeifer. Food looked and tasted great. The tandoori skewer with 4 large chunks of lamb could be reduced to 3 chunks. Error with the red wine: bottle from the menu was out and 2 of the 3 open ones too. We got the cheapest one left, but (later noticed) there were 2 others on the bill. Next time we will have the receipt given to us beforehand for analysis. This time the Indian was there to pay and we only got the receipt afterwards. They have to change that or we will change it. And there shouldn't be a wine list with almost everything on it. At least there should be an insert sheet or other notice.

Really a great experience what is on offer here. The culinary delicacies, the friendly, welcoming service and the elegant ambience create a feel-good atmosphere that is similar to your addiction. In terms of price, it's perfectly fine, but back home you would definitely pay more. Of course, we adjusted the tip, which the waitress was extremely grateful for. In our opinion, a reservation in advance or at least a telephone request for a free table is absolutely necessary! During our stay alone, many guests were unable to get a seat without a reservation because every seat seemed to be fully booked. No wonder with such a gastronomic masterpiece. We'll be back.
