By far the best butter chicken and naan in Paderborn! Friendly service and plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

The Kurkuma 400 Grad restaurant in Paderborn is located in a beautiful old half-timbered house right on a busy street. From the outside, it looks very inviting and charming. Parking is available both in the courtyard and on the street, making it easy to get there. Inside, you'll find a modern, stylish ambiance with about 10-12 tables, tastefully decorated and creating a cozy atmosphere. You're greeted very warmly as soon as you enter the restaurant. The staff is very attentive and courteous throughout your visit, always striving to make you feel comfortable. We arrived as a couple around 6:30 pm. Although the restaurant was busy and we didn't have a reservation, we were still offered a table – a big plus for the flexible and professional service. As an aperitif, we opted for an Aperol Spritz, which was perfectly prepared. For our starters, we chose a selection of breads with various dips, along with cauliflower and a vegetarian specialty. The presentation was a real eye-catcher – creative, modern, and arranged with great attention to detail. The appetizer was an absolute highlight in terms of taste. For our main course, we had chicken, which is also highly recommended: juicy, excellently seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can clearly tell that high-quality ingredients and a great deal of skill are used here. To finish, the signature dessert was flambéed right at the table – a wonderful experience and definitely something special. While the taste of the dessert is certainly a matter of personal preference, the concept and presentation made it a perfect ending. Overall, our visit to Kurkuma 400 Grad was a complete success. Delicious food, a modern concept, an attentive and friendly team, and a unique ambiance make this restaurant highly recommendable. We will gladly return.

From the outside, it's a simple half-timbered house, but inside it's a dream. Absolutely stylish and minimalist yet cozy. The service is incredibly friendly and attentive. You could easily fill up on appetizers, but I simply can't resist my Butter Murg Tikka Masala, even though I always feel stuffed afterward 😅 Highly recommended! The only thing missing is an extra sprinkle of seasoning on the appetizers—I could just dive right in!

The food is of fantastic quality, everything is delicious. It's a bit pricey, but the quality is worth it. One minor drawback is the limited parking available on site.

We had a fantastic evening at Kurkuma. Great atmosphere. Very modern decor, yet cozy, and excellent lighting. The service was also very good – not only friendly, but also with helpful suggestions (such as which side dish goes well with the main course, etc.). The food was really delicious (and beautifully presented. After all, we eat with our eyes 😉). My husband, who ordered a trio of chicken thighs, chicken breast, and lamb, had only one minor suggestion for improvement: He would have liked different marinades for each type of meat. As it was, he said, the lamb and chicken tasted quite similar (albeit very good!). All in all: Highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

On Easter Sunday, four of us ate at Kurkuma. Everything was just perfect. The service, quality, taste, and ambiance offered a well-rounded package. The selection of vegan dishes is especially great. Of all the Indian restaurants in and around Paderborn that I've visited so far, Kurkuma was by far the most enjoyable and delicious. I'd love to come back next time I visit my old hometown.

Yep. The food was great again. The only drawback is that you can book tables in two shifts, so the evening ended rather abruptly because the later booking was coming up. When booking, make sure you always reserve the late time slot to ensure a nice, relaxed, and enjoyable evening.

Great location, a bit small but quite cozy. Very friendly and efficient service. The selection of dishes is manageable, and accordingly fresh and excellent. The vegetarian selection is a bit limited, except for the sauces; there's still a lot of potential for improvement here. It would be desirable to use more vegetables and fresh ingredients; the cheese options (there were two vegetarians with us) weren't satisfactory, neither in terms of taste nor selection...a real shame. But for the rest of the group, it was a delight, and I can recommend the restaurant. The parking situation at the restaurant is a bit difficult...there are about 6-9 parking spaces in the backyard, but very narrow and confusing...not a problem for experienced drivers...There are, however, a few options along the street that involve a bit of a walk, but—no problem. All in all, a great place with delicious dishes. Not really recommended for vegetarians, at least not in our opinion, as the prices are a bit high. They could offer more or more different dishes, at least in the vegetarian section... That's not usually a big challenge in Indian cuisine. We'd be happy to come back. P.S.: definitely reserve a table in advance.

I recently visited Kurkuma, and as someone from India, I was hoping for authentic flavors. Unfortunately, the dishes were very disappointing — the spices were unbalanced, and the food lacked the depth and freshness that define Indian cuisine. It felt like the cook doesn’t truly know how to prepare Indian dishes, and I believe a change in the kitchen or better knowledge of authentic cooking is needed. I left feeling quite let down, especially since this was my first visit.
