An manchen Tagen gibt es nicht besseres als leckeres Curry und Naan. Genau so ein Tag war gestern, als meine Partnerin und ich Spice of India zur Abendstunde betreten haben. Dies war bei Weitem nicht unser erster Besuch, wir sind seit einer längeren Zeit große Fans. Das Curry ist unglaublich lecker. Ich tendieren in der Regel zum vegetarischen Curry, was in der Karte extra eine eigene Sektion bekommen hat. Das Ambiente ist ruhig und sieht gut aus, auch wenn es mir manchmal etwas veraltet vorkommt. Die Bedienung ist wie immer super freundlich gewesen und hat am Ende des Abends auch ein gutes Trinkgeld verdient. Ein wahrlicher Fund für das indisch-essende Fandom und die Curry-Community.

Das Essen schmeckt wirklich gut ich bestelle immer und es kommt warm an. Empfehle es weiter.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Es hat uns super geschmeckt und es gibt einige Vegane Gerichte, was und gut gefallen hat.

Wir waren als Familie im Restaurant essen. Anfangs war alles gut, bis wir das Hauptgericht bekamen. Das Fleisch war verdorben – durch die Soße wurde anscheinend versucht, den schlechten Geschmack zu überdecken. Danach hatten wir Übelkeit. Als ich den Chef darauf angesprochen und gesagt habe, dass das Fleisch stinkt und wir es deshalb nicht gegessen haben, reagierte er sehr unfreundlich. Trotzdem mussten wir den vollen Preis bezahlen. Wir werden dieses Restaurant nie wieder besuchen. Sehr enttäuschend – Service und Umgang mit Kunden leider 0 Punkte.

Wir haben dort etwas zu Essen bestellt und liefern lassen. Wir haben zwei vegane Gerichte bestellt, leider war eines davon aber nicht vegan, sondern nur vegetarisch (mit Paneer). Auf der Homepage konnte man extra ein Häkchen setzten, dass es vegan zubereitet werden soll. Schade, dass es diese Option gibt und man sich dann nicht drauf verlassen kann. Zum Glück haben wir keine Allergien... Für Menschen mit Allergien wäre das jetzt ziemlich blöd. 1:20 Std. warten, um dann zu sehen, dass es nicht das bestellte Gericht ist, ist ganz schön enttäuschend. Das Essen war trotzdem lecker!

Wir bestellen hier sonst super gerne Essen und auch immer, wenn wir zu Besuch in Paderborn sind. Heute habe ich ausnahmsweise mal direkt im Lokal zum mitnehmen bestellt. Zum einen hab ich mehr bezahlt, als hätte ich das gleiche online vorbestellt und ich hab statt Nr. 27 und Nr.40 in meinem Partnermenü leider zweimal das gleiche gehabt. Da ich es mitgenommen habe für abends, ist mir der Fehler erst später beim öffnen aufgefallen. Ziemlich enttäuschend, wenn man feststellt zu viel und für das falsche bezahlt zu haben.

Extrem lecker, sehr freundlich und super Preis Leistung - komme auf jeden Fall wieder

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht von dem Essen. Teile des Essens fehlten und von der Gewürzvielfalt, die man von der indischen Küche kennt, war nichts zu schmecken. Einmal und nie wieder!

Habe schon oft dort bestellt. Bisher immer top. Heute wurde leider der Reis als Beilage vergessen. Bis er nachgeliefert wurde, waren 45 Minuten vergangen. Da war das bereits angekommene Essen schon kalt. Der nachgeliefert Reis leider auch. Sehr schade. Wäre nicht schlecht, wenn bei der nächsten Bestellung eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit zur Entschuldigung mitgeliefert würde!

Habe bereits im Restaurant und Take-Away bestellt. Beides hervorragend und super lecker! Kann das Mango Curry und Chicken Tikka sehr empfehlen. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team, für mich eines der besten Restaurants in Pb.

Das Mango-Lassi und die Pakoras waren fantastisch! Das Personal war spitze! Der Laden hat eine tolle, typisch indische, aber gleichzeitig elegante Atmosphäre.

Achtung, Allergene sind nicht korrekt ausgewiesen. Nüsse drin, obwohl nicht unter den Allergenen aufgeführt. Telefonat mit Inhaber hat das bestätigt. Das ist mehr als gefährlich!

Wir, meine Frau und ich, waren im November 2025 im Spice of India. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Bestellt haben wir wir beide die Nr. 21. Das Essen kam schon nach 5 min. Auffällig war, daß der Fleischanteil sehr gering war, dafür viel Soße. Lt. Speisekarte "pikant gewürzt", gefühlt war es eher scharf. Für uns etwas grenzwertig, aber geschmacklich okay. Viel schlimmer: ich bin nicht satt geworden!! Nach dem Essen fragte ich nach einer Kaffee-Spezialität. Leider gab es sowas nicht, deshalb bot man mir einen Tee an,...ich verneinte. Kommen wir wieder? Eher nicht....

Egal ob vor Ort oder im Lieferservice, ich habe das gesamte Team immer sehr freundlich kennengelernt. Die Gerichte lassen uns immer etwas aus dem hektischen Alltag entfliehen & sind qualitativ unsererseits nicht zu beanstanden. Für uns eines der besten Restaurants ❤️

Super leckeres Essen! Keine längeren Wartezeiten. Wenn man Sonntags bestellt kann es vorkommen, dass man länger wartet - das ist aber vollkommen in Ordnung. Service ist freundlich 👍🏼.

Ich habe online Kadhai Paneer bestellt, aber sie haben tatsächlich Käse statt Paneer verwendet, und das Curry war sauer. Das Naan war auch nicht gut. Beim nächsten Mal habe ich Mushroom Bhaji probiert, aber das war nur mittelmäßig. Meine Freunde, die Fleisch essen, sagen, dass das Fleischessen dort besser ist.

Leider mussten wir sehr lange auf unser Essen warten sowie auf Getränke , wir hatten keine Bestecke , die mussten w7r uns selber Holen , das Hähnchen war sehr trocken und nicht frisch gemacht , mein Freund hatte mit Ente gegessen, die war so zeh und konnte man nicht , der Service hatte nicht einmal gefragt ob alles gut ist und uns links liegen gelassen, , für hat das nichts mit Guten Essen zutun gehabt.

Sehr leckeres Essen, gut gewürzt und reichlich. Ich bin ein Fan vom den vegetarischen Gerichten, wobei auch die Fleischgerichte super sind. Der Mango Lassi ist mmmh!!! 🤤 Ich hatte falsch falsches online bestellt und habe dann angerufen und mir wurde kompetent geholfen und das Problem wurde gelöst. Einfach toll!! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

A small street restaurant that doesn't look like much at first glance, but the food was outstanding. The Chicken Tikka Jhalfrezi was quite possibly the best I've had in and around Paderborn, along with some truly delicious Pilau Rice – all highly recommended. One minor criticism: The Mango Lassi should be served in a classic metal bowl with a glass straw, not a Willibecher with a paper straw. But it was still delicious 😀

Very authentic Indian cuisine. The menu has a huge selection and there's something for everyone. The meat is tender and delicious. It's always worth a visit.

Unfortunately the food was not good this time

Ordered the same food four times and tasted different each time. There was an unidentifiable sauce that I didn't find listed on the menu and that I never got with the same dish (at least according to the name) in other Indian restaurants and, moreover, is completely unnecessary in terms of taste. I think this was finally the last attempt here, especially since I was also annoyed by the tone.

Superb smells Delicious food And fresh

The restaurant's proprietor is really unpleasant, but the cuisine is decent. I submitted my order on 16.11, but it took about three hours to process, and there has been no change on the application. The owner urged me to pay more for waiting when the delivery driver showed up, threatening to cancel my food delivery if I didn't. In addition, he is really disrespectful and makes me feel uncomfortable with the way he talks to me. I advise you to order food from somewhere else if you want to.

The waiter was also the cook on the day I was there, so the friendliness fell by the wayside. It's nicely decorated but unfortunately they don't have the same cleanliness. Luckily the food tasted good

We ordered today and the wrong dish was delivered. When I asked on the phone, I was assured that the incorrectly delivered food would be delivered within 10 minutes. After another 30 minutes I called again and was again told that I had to understand that they were very busy and that the food would be delivered in 5 minutes. In the end, the food was delivered after 45 minutes instead of the promised 10 minutes, without the bread that was ordered, but with rice. When I called again I was told that the rice was a gift and that I had to say that the bread was not included in the first order. I was offered to deliver the bread later. When I asked what she wanted to do with the warm food (which had already been delivered), I was told that I could warm it up. It's a shame, the food was actually very tasty. But for me, once and never again!

Despite long waiting times and service that leaves something to be desired, the food was great and the prices were okay. Would recommend this restaurant if you don't want to eat there. Annoying background noises coming from the kitchen and the service, which was very busy even though there wasn't much going on. Next time I would like to order there but just order.

Our visit to the Spice of India restaurant in Paderborn was a mixed experience. The food was really excellent – ​​authentically Indian, well seasoned and tasted just right. Unfortunately, the service couldn't quite keep up. We had to wait quite a while, both for the order and for the food, which required a bit of patience. The ambience also left something to be desired: the room was quite busy and sometimes loud, which made the atmosphere a little hectic. For a relaxed dinner, a little more peace and comfort would have been desirable. All in all, Spice of India is a recommendation for anyone who values ​​delicious Indian food. If the service were a little quicker and the atmosphere was made more pleasant, the restaurant could really impress.

Unbelievably bad. 2 hours waiting time for my order. Paid 26€. The driver doesn't want to take me to the door, calls me to come out!? And then the dessert is missing, which you paid €4.50 for!! Incredibly poor performance and NOT recommended.

In the evening, after the children were put to sleep, they had a craving for something new. Since I have always liked oriental food, I quickly persuaded my wife to try Indian food. She was rather skeptical. We then ordered a menu for 2. The starter (pakora) was a kind of vegetarian balls with curry and lots of chickpea paste. A taste explosion from the gentleman. The main course was masala chicken. My wife didn't want to share :( ...I had Jogan Rosh. The chicken was tender and delicious. Eating there again any time! I was only able to evaluate the ambience while waiting, which was quick. Just as Europeans imagine India :)

Well... The most disappointing thing was that we found a mosquito in our dip. That was really annoying. The service was really demotivated and unfriendly. He won't let us order the food as we didn't have cash. But we could have ordered and till the food is being prepared we could have got some money from the Sparkasse. The chicken we ordered was completely dry and hard to swallow. I would say that was the worst jalfrezi I ever ate. Completely tasteless. This restaurant is just overrated.

I just don't understand what's going on here. Years ago I ordered various chicken dishes. They were inedible and completely oversweetened. So bad that 5 people had to throw away 3/4 of their food. At the time I thought I might have made a mistake and confused sugar with salt, but it stuck with me so much that I couldn't forget it. Years later, exactly today, on the advice of friends, I and my family gave it another chance. And what can I say, it's just as bad as it was back then and the memories came flooding back. The chicken dishes, here it was tikka and butter chicken, were so sweet, just sugar sauce, that you couldn't eat them or you got a stomach ache. Impossible, if I had been there I would probably have thrown this stuff against the wall, I'm really just upset that I paid so much money for something like that. I still don't understand the positive reviews. Then as now it was simply a catastrophe. I won't go into the rest of the negative points of the courts, the one problem is more than enough. I will never order anything to eat there again and I will advise against eating there.

I ordered via Uber Eats, Food arrived fairly quickly but I was quite disappointed with it. I prefer to eat butter chicken at an Indian restaurant, which is what I ordered here too. First of all this place is not an Indian restaurant. People from Bangladesh running this restaurant. Atmosphere was not. Food quality worst. They are serving supermarket naan, that too not fresh. Tables were also not clean. As per German Standard, this restaurant should not exist.

We ordered lunch .. fried noodles , chicken tandoori and chicken gravy.i bet no one would even guess .. not even one dish was fit to eat. NOODLES were BURNT !! TANDOORI WAS JUST COLORED. Wir waren das zweite Mal jetzt da und kommen gerne wieder. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und das Personal freundlich. Auch wenn das Essen am Anfang wenig aussieht, wir sind mehr als satt immer rausgegangen. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich, nur Bar und so wie ich es von einer Abholerin mitbekommen habe diese konnte per PayPal bezahlt.

Ich habe dieses jahr für mich schon über ein dutzend mal bestellt und bin auch immer gerne bereit etwas mehr zu zahlen um dafür gutes Essen zu bekommen, aber dass ihr den Mindestbestellwert jetzt genau nochmal so anhebt dass meine Standardbestellung nicht mehr möglich ist und ich jetzt noch mehr bestellen muss was ich dann eh wegschmeiße, finde ich sehr blöd. Macht doch lieber das Essen selber nen euro teurer aber so find ich das blöd und sehr schade weil euer Essen sehr lecker ist und ich eigentlich gerne bei euch bestelle, aber so werde ich mir nun einen anderen Inder suchen müssen. Mich habt ihr als Stammkunden dadurch leider verloren.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Allerdings scheint der Laden hauptsächlich vom Bestellgeschäft zu leben. Das Raus und Rein des Fahrers trübt die Gemütlichkeit und auch die Servicequalität. Die beiden Kräfte waren permanent in der Küche beschäftigt. Nachdem ich 10 min vergeblich gewartet hatte, bin ich letztlich vorgegangen, um meine Rechnung zu bezahlen. Weihnachtsdeko im Mai in jedem Fenster wirkt nicht so einladend.

Ein toller Inder. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, man merkt das die Speisen total frisch sind. Ebenfalls ist das Personal super freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Sprachlos war ich bei der schönen indischen Einrichtung. Ich kam mir vor als ob ich auf einer Indienreise wäre. Super schön. Ab jetzt werde ich hier öfter speisen.

Wir haben heute telefonisch bei Spice of India bestellt und das Essen abgeholt. Die Speisen waren zuhause noch heiß und sehr lecker, alle Sonderwünsche bzgl. der Schärfe wurden berücksichtigt. Das Restaurant macht einen gemütlichen Eindruck, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Preis/Leistung ist absolut in Ordnung. Wir werden garantiert weiter hier bestellen oder direkt vor Ort essen.
