Very unfriendly staff, condescending and short. The food and drinks correspond to the standard of German cuisine but are very overpriced. Not recommended, there are better alternatives in Heidelberg.

Wir haben Kulturbraeuerei fur unsere Mittagessen besuchen, wir sind damit sehr zufrieden, Kellnerinnen die sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit waren und die Qualitaet von die Gerichte war auch top! Auf Wiederessen!

Booking was easy over the phone. Rooms are large and clean. We were told on the phone that breakfast was "a few doors down". Unfortunately we weren't told that it was a 12 minute walk across the old town.

I went to eat with my daughter and friends. The place was packed, anyway, service was quick, food was great, and the beer was over the top. Definitely ull be back when in Heidelberg.

Wir haben in Heidelberg einen Zwischenstopp eingelegt und in der Kulturbrauerei übernachtet. Daher haben wir dort auch unser Abendessen eingenommen. Gottseidank, sonst hätten wir das Lokal gar nicht gefunden. Wir hatten Maultaschen und Rindsrouladen- sehr lecker.

An amazing traditional German restaurant! The environment is really nice and the interior is beautiful with high ceilings, great lighting and nice paintings. The food is very delicious and not too pricey for a nice dinner night out. Highly recommend during your stay in Heidelberg! Reservations recommended!

We were really excited about this place having seen the reviews and receiving recommendation from a local guide but the whole experience fell a bit flat. The restaurant building is quite quaint but the food didn’t really live up to the expectations. The chicken in coconut curry felt like eating boiled chicken. The venison stew was an exception and was really good. The apple strudel was very average. What really disappointed us was being charged €2 for a glass of hot water. For a table paying upwards of €130 including €8.50 water bottle for the table, I am sure this could have been complementary. We have been in Franconia region in multiple towns and even smaller cafes haven’t charged for a cup of plain hot water.

Actually recommended as a sophisticated restaurant in Heidelberg. The service was very friendly and impeccable. The food is in the upper price segment but very poor quality. There was wild boar sausage with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The puree turns out to be a powder mass mixed with water. The sausages were pre-cooked and then “brought to life”. But they remained faded - despite good quality. Only the red cabbage was able to shine, but cabbage always tastes better when warmed up. Here quality and hospitality are sacrificed in favor of profitability (profit). It's a shame for such a nice restaurant in this atmosphere.

Their beers are so good! But the service is not. We could not properly chat with my colleagues due to constant interruption by different waiters. It felt like; either order new, or go away pls.

Went to the restaurant for dinner. It's a very large restaurant and it was packed, so it was very loud. A long queue in front of the door on Saturday evening during the Advent and Christmas market. Nothing works without a reservation. We had reserved a table. Cordon Bleau was delicious, but the roulades were unfortunately dry. Unfortunately the deer back was gone. It was impressive how much food went out there in the evening. The food was good for that. The home brewed beer was delicious. 32€ for a Cordon Bleau is definitely too much!! All in all a nice evening.

Das Essen war gut, Ambiente und Service ebenfalls. Die Tische sind teilweise sehr eng gestellt - gerade im Winter mit dicken Jacken sehr schwer durchzukommen. Es war ein schöner Abend und wir kommen gerne wieder.

We had dinner at the Kulturbrauerei. We did not stay at the hotel so this review is only about the restaurant. The people were very nice. The food is adequate, but not great. The atmosphere is like a big loud food hall and you probably share a table with people (which is fine). But the späztle was the worst I’ve ever had. The wildragout was not bad. I live in Berlin and work in Swabia, so know Swabian cuisine well. I would not eat there again and cannot recommend it.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 5 und hatten einen schönen Abend, jedoch war eines der Essen (Kalbsbäckchen) zu stark mit Nelken versetzt. Als einzige Antwort vom Kellner bekamen wir hierauf nur, dass hätte Sie wohl schon mal gehört. Finde ich ein wenig schwach. Der Rest des Abends war gut.

Das Essen war gut und innerhalb von 5 Minuten am Tisch, was auffallend schnell war. Leider war das Filet nicht mehr ganz so warm, ich vermute dass es vorgekocht wurde und warm gehalten wurde. Geschmacklich dennoch empfehlenswert, vor allem die Spätzle. Leider wussten wir nicht, dass es nur große Tische gibt, somit wurden wir bei fremden Leuten am Tisch platziert um die Tische zu füllen. Zudem war es ausgesprochen laut und lebhaft. Das muss man einfach mögen.

We were in Heidelberg for a few days. Stopped in here on a Monday at lunchtime. The food was great and the best we've had in a long time. Great atmosphere, nice staff. And last but not least - the good beer!

With great excitement on the small card. Little food on it - this can only be a good thing. However, the opposite was the case: the roast was too weak, the spaetzle wasn't seasoned and the sauerkraut tasted straight from the can, apart from the few caraway seeds. The cranberry espuma on the game goulash is a have that is out of place. Pork fillet is much overcooked and the mushroom cream should be stirred once before putting it on the plate, so you can prevent the cream and moisture from being separated on the plate. But to all criticism, the salad was great.

Dear Kulturbrauerei team, I like your brewery, but we have to talk about the cheese spaetzle that I got last night. 20 EUR for cheese spaetzle (with a small side salad) is already beyond the pain threshold. But if you only get a children's portion or a side dish for all that money, it gets stupid. Guys, cheese spaetzle is not a side dish, but a main dish, so it is not enough if you take a handful of spaetzle. The iron pan was maybe a third full or even less, no normal man can get enough of that!! If the next portion is as it should be, it will be 5 stars again.

The food was not good at all ! I love German and traditional food but the red cabbage was really gross, the gravy was very strange in flavor and so was everything else. I will not be returning and won’t suggest it to anyone who wants good traditional German food. Very dissatisfied

It's not my first time there and I keep visiting it when I return to Heidelberg. Own beer and very good. Traditional dishes with good garnish. Group atmosphere at dinners. In summer a garden with a great terrace.

Unfortunately we weren't very satisfied. We made a reservation online and wrote specifically that we were coming specifically for the pork knuckle. Reservations were made and we drove an extra 30 minutes just to hear that there was no knuckle that day. They could have done better and perhaps written an email to let us know. Food was lukewarm. The waiter who brought the drinks spilled my drink a little, not really bad, but our table was wet without him apologizing or cleaning it up. Too bad

The three of us ate here and got a seat around lunchtime without a reservation. The food was very tasty and went very quickly. Service was also very nice! Unfortunately the prices were a bit high.. Would still recommend it!

Unfortunately, the Wiener Schnitzel had nothing to do with a Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately, the fries were also way too salty. (For the price) In addition, all 3 homemade beers were not my cup of tea. Nevertheless, a very cool atmosphere and very nice staff.

We had a hotel in the old town and were only a few meters away. The many recommendations didn't promise too much - it was outstanding!!!! Both the staff and the food - if you don't want to eat "normal to good" you are in good hands here. We found it sensational. Reservation is perhaps important if you want to sit well ;-)

Trotz Reservierung wurden wir darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass wir aber nur 3/4 Stunde hätten, da der Tisch dann benötigt wird. Im Raum selbst stand die Luft. Mal ein Fenster für frische Luft zu öffnen wurde versäumt. Die Tischeinweiserin war sehr unfreundlich, aber unser Kellner war gut.

Nuestro tour vikingo de Heidelberg nos reservó aquí para "almorzar con estudiantes" en la universidad. La comida fue muy buena, con un menú fijo y opciones para vegetarianos, y se sirvió al estilo familiar. Disfrutamos de los tres cursos y las bebidas de flujo libre, y por supuesto, conocer un poco a los estudiantes. Debido al clima estábamos sentados en el interior, pero el patio parecía muy atractivo. This is about the Kulturbrauerei restaurant, not the hotel. The location is beautiful - located between Neckarmünzplatz and Karlsplatz, the building ensemble is a feast for the eyes. The restaurant itself is housed in a very tall building, chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and a view of Heidelberg can be seen on one wall - an impression of "shabby chic" arises. The tables are arranged in rows, so that you may have your own table but be directly adjacent to another group of visitors. But that only completes the impression of a brewery bar. It's cozy, you feel good. The service is also very attentive, quick and good. I'll explain why I only gave it 3 stars. The food was also good and sufficient. In addition to a nice, small standard menu, there is also a weekly menu with current specialties. In my opinion, the fact that one or two dishes were no longer available only showed that the ingredients were freshly prepared (contrary to other reviewers' assumptions) - yes, certainly prepared, because the finished dishes were brought to the table very quickly. But that's not negative either. The quality was very good and it tasted very good. So why only 3 stars? We arrived at the restaurant at 8 p.m. and sat and ate there until around 9:20 p.m. However, the last 20 minutes were relatively uncomfortable. On the one hand, this was due to the fact that it was cleared away rather hastily - even though we were still partly eating. I find this “pulling the plate out from under the cutlery” thing very unpleasant. You feel like you've been sitting at the table for too long and now you just want to cash in. That's really a shame. Secondly, around 9 p.m., we started setting up the tables - many were actually already empty - for the next morning. Dish trolleys were pushed through the aisles, and very noisily. And so in the end you had the impression that you were in a cafeteria or canteen rather than in a restaurant. Since the prices are not at this level (3 main courses, 3 small beers: around 100 euros), I don't think that's appropriate. It's a shame, because the location itself and the people there were really nice and recommended. But if you don't really feel welcome as a guest, you're left with a negative aftertaste.

For our taste, the Kulturbrauerei is a tourist “pass-through bar” that can only exist because of the amount of tourism. The food is mediocre and the beer is not at all tasty. There are only three types of beer (none of which we liked) - of course it's all a matter of taste, but in a brewery I expect different types of beer and perhaps a beer tasting with small tasting glasses. Even if you look in the corners, at and behind the counter, you can see that this restaurant is not run by people who put their heart and soul into it.

What a fantastic dining experience! It had been a long time since I enjoyed a meal this good. The fish was absolutely wonderful, complemented by a rich, flavorful curry sauce and perfectly prepared rice. Even the bread was fresh and delicious—every detail of the meal was spot on. Though the restaurant can be a bit loud due to its historical charm, the beautiful setting more than makes up for it. Considering how busy it was, the meals were served surprisingly fast, and it’s clear the staff works together seamlessly. One thoughtful touch was when my partner was generously offered a salad in place of red cabbage—a rare and appreciated gesture. This place is a gem for both food and service!

Went here for dinner and a few beers. Service is super friendly and absurdly fast, so the main course was on the table 5 minutes after ordering. As stupid as it sounds, maybe wait a few minutes longer before eating, because that would make it seem like a hard mass. Otherwise absolute recommendation.
