We were in Heidelberg for a few days. Stopped in here on a Monday at lunchtime. The food was great and the best we've had in a long time. Great atmosphere, nice staff. And last but not least - the good beer!

With great excitement on the small card. Little food on it - this can only be a good thing. However, the opposite was the case: the roast was too weak, the spaetzle wasn't seasoned and the sauerkraut tasted straight from the can, apart from the few caraway seeds. The cranberry espuma on the game goulash is a have that is out of place. Pork fillet is much overcooked and the mushroom cream should be stirred once before putting it on the plate, so you can prevent the cream and moisture from being separated on the plate. But to all criticism, the salad was great.

Dear Kulturbrauerei team, I like your brewery, but we have to talk about the cheese spaetzle that I got last night. 20 EUR for cheese spaetzle (with a small side salad) is already beyond the pain threshold. But if you only get a children's portion or a side dish for all that money, it gets stupid. Guys, cheese spaetzle is not a side dish, but a main dish, so it is not enough if you take a handful of spaetzle. The iron pan was maybe a third full or even less, no normal man can get enough of that!! If the next portion is as it should be, it will be 5 stars again.

An Historical Restaurant with traditional German cuisine and beer. Food was good as per tradition. The place is very large but busy, service was good and quality of food. If you want to get a taste of the german cuisine I recommend this place in Heidelberg

It's not my first time there and I keep visiting it when I return to Heidelberg. Own beer and very good. Traditional dishes with good garnish. Group atmosphere at dinners. In summer a garden with a great terrace.

Unfortunately we weren't very satisfied. We made a reservation online and wrote specifically that we were coming specifically for the pork knuckle. Reservations were made and we drove an extra 30 minutes just to hear that there was no knuckle that day. They could have done better and perhaps written an email to let us know. Food was lukewarm. The waiter who brought the drinks spilled my drink a little, not really bad, but our table was wet without him apologizing or cleaning it up. Too bad

The three of us ate here and got a seat around lunchtime without a reservation. The food was very tasty and went very quickly. Service was also very nice! Unfortunately the prices were a bit high.. Would still recommend it!

Unfortunately, the Wiener Schnitzel had nothing to do with a Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately, the fries were also way too salty. (For the price) In addition, all 3 homemade beers were not my cup of tea. Nevertheless, a very cool atmosphere and very nice staff.

We had a hotel in the old town and were only a few meters away. The many recommendations didn't promise too much - it was outstanding!!!! Both the staff and the food - if you don't want to eat "normal to good" you are in good hands here. We found it sensational. Reservation is perhaps important if you want to sit well ;-)

The ambience and service were great, but the prices were way too high and the beer also left a lot to be desired. Portions are really small for the prices and the taste is average. I wouldn't go there again.

Our Viking tour of Heidelberg booked us here for "lunch with students" at the university. The meal was very good, with a set menu and options for vegetarians, and was served family style. We enjoyed all three courses and the free-flowing beverages, and of course, getting to know the students a little bit. Due to the weather we were seated indoors but the courtyard looked very appealing. Restrooms downstairs.

This is about the Kulturbrauerei restaurant, not the hotel. The location is beautiful - located between Neckarmünzplatz and Karlsplatz, the building ensemble is a feast for the eyes. The restaurant itself is housed in a very tall building, chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and a view of Heidelberg can be seen on one wall - an impression of "shabby chic" arises. The tables are arranged in rows, so that you may have your own table but be directly adjacent to another group of visitors. But that only completes the impression of a brewery bar. It's cozy, you feel good. The service is also very attentive, quick and good. I'll explain why I only gave it 3 stars. The food was also good and sufficient. In addition to a nice, small standard menu, there is also a weekly menu with current specialties. In my opinion, the fact that one or two dishes were no longer available only showed that the ingredients were freshly prepared (contrary to other reviewers' assumptions) - yes, certainly prepared, because the finished dishes were brought to the table very quickly. But that's not negative either. The quality was very good and it tasted very good. So why only 3 stars? We arrived at the restaurant at 8 p.m. and sat and ate there until around 9:20 p.m. However, the last 20 minutes were relatively uncomfortable. On the one hand, this was due to the fact that it was cleared away rather hastily - even though we were still partly eating. I find this “pulling the plate out from under the cutlery” thing very unpleasant. You feel like you've been sitting at the table for too long and now you just want to cash in. That's really a shame. Secondly, around 9 p.m., we started setting up the tables - many were actually already empty - for the next morning. Dish trolleys were pushed through the aisles, and very noisily. And so in the end you had the impression that you were in a cafeteria or canteen rather than in a restaurant. Since the prices are not at this level (3 main courses, 3 small beers: around 100 euros), I don't think that's appropriate. It's a shame, because the location itself and the people there were really nice and recommended. But if you don't really feel welcome as a guest, you're left with a negative aftertaste.

For our taste, the Kulturbrauerei is a tourist “pass-through bar” that can only exist because of the amount of tourism. The food is mediocre and the beer is not at all tasty. There are only three types of beer (none of which we liked) - of course it's all a matter of taste, but in a brewery I expect different types of beer and perhaps a beer tasting with small tasting glasses. Even if you look in the corners, at and behind the counter, you can see that this restaurant is not run by people who put their heart and soul into it.

What a fantastic dining experience! It had been a long time since I enjoyed a meal this good. The fish was absolutely wonderful, complemented by a rich, flavorful curry sauce and perfectly prepared rice. Even the bread was fresh and delicious—every detail of the meal was spot on. Though the restaurant can be a bit loud due to its historical charm, the beautiful setting more than makes up for it. Considering how busy it was, the meals were served surprisingly fast, and it’s clear the staff works together seamlessly. One thoughtful touch was when my partner was generously offered a salad in place of red cabbage—a rare and appreciated gesture. This place is a gem for both food and service!

Went here for dinner and a few beers. Service is super friendly and absurdly fast, so the main course was on the table 5 minutes after ordering. As stupid as it sounds, maybe wait a few minutes longer before eating, because that would make it seem like a hard mass. Otherwise absolute recommendation.

What a beautiful restaurant down deep in the town of Heidelberg. The atmosphere is wonderful and so is the food. It was a very enjoyable dining experience! Highly recommend.

We had a family meal at the Kultubrauerei. The building is beautiful, the beer garden is inviting. We ate well and enjoyed the delicious home-brewed beers. Not exactly cheap, and the service could be a bit more attentive. But we were in good hands.

I was recently at the Kulturbrauerei I felt comfortable there and drank a delicious shandy. Unfortunately, I left my sunglasses and case there. After a short phone call with the friendly staff, my glasses were sent home to me. Thank you very much for kindly dealing with my mishap. We'll be happy to come back.

We had a lovely evening of German beer, good food and good service (something that I feel is often lacking in Germany in general). The young lady (dark hair in pony tail and great smile) who attended our table was super lovely. She was energetic and on point about the menu. Duck was delicious and pork as well. Large, hearty portion. Not fancy but lovely and down to earth place , great to spend an easy going evening with mates, families and loved ones.

We ate there. Solid Baden home cooking. Seems to be essentially based on prepared foods and/or convenience. Definitely too expensive for that

Unfortunately I can't award stars for the food here. You might want to adjust that, you can only rate the accommodation. But we were only there to eat. And I have to say, the first thing that put me off was the prices, but you really get something on your plate for the price and, above all, the taste is really good. I thought the spray mist that was attached to the parasols was absolutely brilliant. How cool is that and why doesn't everyone who offers outdoors have that? Mega. This means you can cool down in hot temperatures, which is really good, and wasps are successfully driven away.

Excellent ! Cadre typique. Venir je pense comme nous vers 14 h. Beaucoup de touristes. Nous avons choisi ce restaurant sur les dires du guide du routard ! Repas délicieux de plats typiques. Boulettes viandes avec une sauce et escalopes veau à se sucer les doigts. La bière est servie dans des bocks magnifiques et est très bonne. Le vin est parfait (pinot noir). Le personnel n est pas très chaleureux mais fait des efforts pour nous comprendre. Carte traduite en anglais. A recommander les yeux fermés ! Nous sommes prêt à rester un jour de plus pour revenir !! Prix compter 80e pour deux sans desserts. Attention la carte sur le site n est servie qu après 17h. Mais le midi la carte est excellente aussi.

Really great experience and not madly busy with tourists

Beautiful building, large terrace, good food and friendly service. We had dinner here with 2 teenagers and a German friend. They got her dog a bowl of water without us having to ask. There is no children's menu, my daughter chose the schnitzel and that was a good choice. Delicious country bread with dips. Furthermore, the chicken in coconut curry sauce is very tasty.

We both enjoyed the food very much. The crusty roast is particularly highly recommended. The waitress was extremely friendly and even took the time to play with our little son, which we really appreciated. The outdoor area is pleasant, quiet and shaded, ideal for relaxed al fresco dining. The high rooms inside also contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. An all-round successful restaurant experience!

The service and the food were wonderful, very tasty, but unfortunately I have to complain about one thing, otherwise it's always the non-smokers who complain, now the smokers, I think it's ok that we're no longer allowed to smoke inside, I'm totally along with it, but Now the non-smokers are also complaining that smoking is no longer allowed outside, which is not fair to the smokers. Sorry.

Great place to eat, somewhat away from the main square. With good weather it’s nice to sit outside, there are mist sprayers to keep the temperature at a reasonable level and the tables and chairs are comfortable. The place services a variety of good beers and has a menu full of German dishes that go very nicely together with their beer. Prices for food and drinks are very reasonable while portion sizes will most likely not leave you hungry afterwards. Highly recommend place to have dinner or just to have a beer.

The beer tastes very good... Would deserve 5 stars. BUT The stone jars should also be filled up to the calibration mark. Maybe the responsible office should take care of it. Something like that doesn't work at all 👎

Food and beer were very good. However, outdoor area has a wasp problem that needs to be addressed. One of our party was stung and we were plagued by wasps for a good chunk of our meal, as were other tables. The restaurant needs to find the nest, deploy bait traps, or maybe leave the water mist on (which seems to discourage the wasps.

Everything was great about this restaurant. We went two nights in a row so that my son could attempt to finish the pork knuckle.

The food and service was really very good. What I didn't like was that the small print on the menu said that you can only pay per table. There were 10 of us there, so one of us should have paid almost 600 euros. As a courtesy we were able to pay individually, at this point we would like to thank the waiter. But the fact that something like this is even required is a no go for me.

Cozy atmosphere in authentic original surroundings. The indoor restaurant has rustic high stucco ceilings with murals, while the outdoor beer garden is very idyllic and perfect for a warm summers day. The beer is of course a must-try, and the food is great. On top, the service was very friendly.

Auf Grund der Tatsache, dass wir in dem dazugehörigen Hotel gewohnt haben, wollten wir natürlich auch das Brauhaus ausprobieren. Für uns war das aber leider enttäuschend. Am ersten Abend Maultaschen bestellt. Was aber serviert wurde glich eher einer Lasagne. Geschmacklich leider auch nicht gut. Am letzten Tag Tiramisu bestellt. Eine Katastrophe. Das war alles andere aber nicht Tiramisu. Da hilft auch die Aussage nichts: wir machen das immer so. Hat leider überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Vom Preis möchte man hier gar nicht sprechen. Fast 10 Euro und dann so etwas liebloses. Das Personal allerdings war sehr gut. Aufmerksam, schnell und freundlich. Auch die Damen von der Hotel Rezeption waren alle durchweg symphatisch. Das Hotel selber hat uns leider auch nicht zugesagt. Die Einrichtung alt und die Duschwand ließ sich nur sehr schwer schließen. Hier müsste dringend Abhilfe geschaffen werden. Unser Fazit: wir wollten mal Heidelberg sehen. Haben wir gemacht und das war´s.

A stylish restaurant in the old part of town. Although it was busy, the service was quick and nice. Food excellent. Ready quickly. The water shower reduced the high summer temperature. The only thing that can be criticized is the large number of wasps, but stims are difficult to fight.

Had dinner with 9 people today. At first I was slightly shocked by the price increase, because I have never seen €33.50 for a Cordon Bleu before. Unfortunately, it started beforehand when ordering drinks. I ordered a blackcurrant spritzer. Unfortunately pure juice was then brought. When I was told I had ordered a spritzer, I was only told that I had ordered a juice. The other people present also confirmed again that I had just ordered the spritzer... Unfortunately, the two waiters didn't really care and they were still standing there with the juice without even offering to bring me what I ordered again had. After I got tired of it, I said that they should just bring me another bottle of water. Unfortunately I didn't get this either, they just brought me a small glass of water. This time I said again that I didn't order this, but rather a whole bottle. Instead of simply bringing me the bottle of water (and apologizing for not being able to attend at all), there was a discussion about how I was going to mix the drinks if I ordered a bottle of water. I responded by asking what the difference was to a full glass of water?! I then had to explain to the waiter that I simply pour the juice and water into the glasses that were already on the table. I don't really understand why people don't listen to me several times and then want to discuss with me how I want to mix the two drinks instead of simply offering to bring me another glass?! Then came the Cordon Bleu which I ordered with spaetzle and sauce. I think that was the smallest Cordon Bleu I've seen in my life. I almost wanted to ask it what it wanted to be when it grew up. The filling with the Gruyere cheese tasted good, but the breading was a disappointment. This was crumbly and you could tell that the whole thing was probably just baked in the oven instead of frying it in a pan with oil. The spaetzle was equally disappointing. Far too soft and the taste is far removed from good homemade spaetzle. I can do it better at home, even though I only do it twice a year. We also all found the spaetzle to be too soft and “something for the toothless,” as another guest called it. The sauce that came with it was pretty bland and tasted like a cheap convenience dish. The next highlight when it comes to the bill: When the bill was put in front of me and I looked at it, I was asked straight away as if something was wrong, really straight away... I replied that I just wanted to take a quick look and see if it would fit?! Is this so unusual that you should at least take a rough look at it?! I then noticed that they wrote down a cola for me that I hadn't even ordered. By the way, beforehand we were asked again what everyone had, and here too I didn't mention any cola. After I pointed out that I didn't have any Coke, I was told that it had been added because it was probably still missing. Aha, and that's why I just get something added to the invoice without any notice?! Maybe that's why I asked why I was looking at the bill? The water that I ordered out of necessity so that I didn't have to drink pure juice costs €7.90. The ready-made sauce costs €6.50, which is just outrageous... I was excited about the visit longer than it took me to eat this little cordon bleu. I've gotten significantly more elsewhere for half the price and the quality wasn't any worse, on the contrary, the spaetzle was better and the cordon bleu was properly baked in oil... This was my third but also last visit. In the end I felt stupid that I was the one who dragged the other 8 people to this restaurant.

Lecketes Essen, zufriedene Kinder, glückliche Ehefrau. Durch den hohen Raum sehr schnell sehr laut, Sehr gut besucht dadurch sehr laut. Tolle Räumlichkeiten, trotz vollständiger Belegung aufmerksame Bedienung.

Most overrated restaurant. Food was not tasty/bland, seasoned and served lukewarm. Mass production (food) which is reflected in the taste. Service was sometimes very unfriendly and overwhelmed by the number of people. Individual payment not possible (was there with a group). Location too loud / people can't have a good conversation in a group. I can't rate the hotel.

Hier schmeckt es nicht nur wie bei Muttern, sondern wie bei der Oma. Auch nach mehrmaligem Besuch konnte ich kein Nachlasen in der hervorragenden Qualität und Geschmack feststellen. DAS muß man erstmal hinbekommen. Für SWR3-Hörer klare 5 Elche.
