Dinner was ok so far, not top-notch gastronomy but what do you expect from schnitzel, fries and the like. Btw fries: Unfortunately these thin muddy fries and therefore not very tasty. You can do better! Staff are very young and partly inexperienced, so things can go wrong. Billing wasn't quite right either. But they tried to be friendly. Depending on the table, the view is very nice, and it's also nice for children to watch ships. All in all, you can definitely go here.

Views of the Rhine from some tables. However, these tables mostly lack sun protection. Otherwise more of a normal beer garden or restaurant atmosphere. The service is friendly. However, the price-performance ratio is not right. Tarte flambée, salads, etc. are significantly overpriced, but the quality is rather unremarkable. The prices quoted are reminiscent of the region's tourist hotspots.

Arrived here as a walk-in and they still had room. The service is very good. I suspect it was the owner/manager, who was very attentive. Immediately arrived with a high chair. He also had a nice box with drawing pencils and two drawing books for the children. There is a nice play area for children with a slide, some toys and a play kitchen. The food was very good. We (2 adults) had the snitzels Wiener art and mushrooms. Not very big, but we got two of them. The kids had fresh salmon and chicken nuggets. The salmon tasted good, but was a bit dry. Fresh gnocchi was served with the salmon in tomato basil sauce. The nuggets are freshly made from very tender chicken meat and are wonderfully crispy. The portions are more than sufficient. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

Very nice service and a nice view, but €10.50 for a piece of frozen cheesecake with cream leaves a bad aftertaste that you've been ripped off here. I didn't have the card given to me, I just asked about the selection of cakes... For this reason, unfortunately no recommendation.

Delicious food, Very nice waitresses and a unique view of the Rhine while eating. Came from the direction of Cologne by bike. After Cologne, the “Kulisse” was the first restaurant/beer garden. I was warmly welcomed for lunch in cycling clothes and well fed. In front of the restaurant there is an air pump station and a machine with bicycle tires. In terms of price, it may not be what you plan on your bike tour, but it's not terribly expensive either.

Wir haben Lasagne und ein Zigeuner Schnitzel ,eine Flasche Wasser. Das ganze war unserer Meinung nach viel zu teuer und die Qualität war nicht gut. Die Bedienung war freundlich.

Gemütlicher Innenraum und eigentlich schöne Terasse mit Blick auf den Rhein. Im oberen Teil allerdings das Ambiente einer Müllkippe, weil überall etwas rumliegt. Die Speisekarten waren total verdreckt. Bedienung ist freundlich und war ok. Essen hat geschmeckt, ist allerdings Stangenware. Was überhaupt nicht geht, sind die Preise. Burger für 19 00€ und Schnitzel über 20,00€ für Ware von der Stange geht echt nicht. Für den Preis kann man bei allem Verständnis bessere Qualität erwarten.

It's a shame it wasn't brunch, it was breakfast. Everything was put on the table that had absolutely nothing to do with brunch. Not to mention the price is outrageous!!! On the internet and on the phone it was described as a buffet and the price was also incorrect. We had to get dishes ourselves from the set table in the restaurant because we had asked to eat outside. We were the first guests so I didn't think it was that great, that's not appropriate. Unbeatable location with beer garden on the Rhine. New tenant, new card. There will also be staff. Homemade bread with great alioli. Homemade pasta. Tarte. You should test it.

The location is beautiful, especially in the outdoor area, some places directly on the Rhine. The young ladies in service were friendly and quick, and there wasn't too much going on. The somewhat outdated charm of the past now seems much friendlier. Personally, I just find the pricing very ambitious. Over 20 for a pork schnitzel with fries, without salad (!) is unparalleled in comparable locations throughout the area. With salad it costs just under 30, - and the other prices are also above average. In another good Wesselinger tavern you can get a good 10 euros cheaper with comparable quality and ambience, as can many restaurants in Cologne and Bonn. In fact the pricing is stopping me from visiting again, it's just good for the prices but nothing special.

You come in here and immediately feel at home. Very nice atmosphere, the service was super friendly and the food. Yes, the food was simply amazing. The starter plate for two easily passes as a main course for two. Absolute recommendation.

An meiner gestrigen Betriebsfeier war ein Kellner mit einer Brille anwesend. War mit Abstand einer der besten den ich je gesehen habe, der Humor der dort geboten worden ist, war sensationell. Außerdem gab es dort eine Möglichkeit, in 2 separaten Räumen die Europa Meisterschaft zu verfolgen. Von mir eine klare Weiterempfehlung

I was there with my two visitors in May 2022 due to its promising location with a nice view. Unfortunately, I regretted this decision. The woman who worked there as a service personnel was very unfriendly. She was straightforward rude. This was an unpleasant experience for us. An absolute no-go.

We were very excited today. The food was really very good. The schnitzel and fried potatoes were the best we've had in a long time, like they were homemade. But the salad also tasted good. The menu is very good, you will find a good and sufficient selection of dishes here. Both the service staff and the new owner were very friendly. The wait for the food was reasonable. We had a nice table in the beer garden with a view of the Rhine. The furniture is well-kept and comfortable. We'd love to come back.

The food was delicious as ever and the service was friendly. And of course the ambience is, as we know, unique.

New ownership, new possibilities :) There is huge potential for this romantic (old school) German Restaurant. With Mediterranean management and domestic environment one can expect good quality food and culinary surprises. It is new start for management with traditional local heritage at the same time. New owner is welcoming everyone who comes :) I would encourage anyone to to go and see for himself.

We were there with a group for brunch. The food is brought to the table and not as a buffet. The selection of food served was not large. There was one bottle of orange juice for 11 people, the additional glass ordered had to be paid for separately. The cappuccino was also charged extra, as was every reorder. So that came to €40 per person. The service was very attentive, but one waitress is not enough for the entire restaurant. The ambience is great, the view of the Rhine is very beautiful. However, that doesn't make up for the negative points, so none of our group goes there anymore.

Went there for breakfast today with 4 people. What can I say... 25.90 Eurotaler per person for a really bad breakfast. Rarely have we experienced something so bad! Baked rolls, cold cuts etc. of poor quality. No croissants, no bread, 1 smashed, loveless Easter egg for 4 people... Breakfast was already on the table upon arrival. This was also the case on the tables that were only reserved at a later date. Devil's cold chain... By the way, that's not my exclusive opinion, the guests at the next tables were also outraged! The scrambled eggs and fried potatoes brought later don't help either. Definitely not a recommendation!!

The service in the setting was fantastic. Nice service that wasn't intrusive but was always present and quick. The new owner was also very nice and offered us another delicacy to compensate for the not so good schnitzel. And that's why I would like to address my request to the new owner. A chamignon cream schnitzel with fries for €22 and a side salad for €6 is a very impressive price. When they charge such prices, they also seem to want to select the audience. It's okay if you choose this path. I'm happy to pay more money for a perfect schnitzel. But someone who affords these prices also wants something in return. Either about the quantity, which is not the case here, or about the quality. This was also not at the price level. Schnitzel at this level really doesn't belong in the deep fryer. When it comes to pricing, I expect the best organic meat, first-class breading, fried in clarified butter according to every trick in the book. It's questionable anyway whether someone who wants to pay gourmet prices will order a schnitzel. The mushroom cream sauce was great. We also reordered.

We were there for the first time today. The ambience and service were okay, the prices for WESSELING were completely exorbitant. Also in terms of quality and quantity. Since most of the dishes cost around 20€ and more, we took currywurst/chips or tarte flambée with feta and spinach. Too expensive for €12.50 or €14.90 and nothing special. In Bonn, for example, they are 2-3€ cheaper and no worse. I can NOT recommend the setting. Sorry

We had dinner here with friends, a total of four people, and were really disappointed. The penne was overcooked spiral pasta drowned in thick tomato sauce and a thick layer of cheese. The pepper sauces in two different dishes were apparently identical and tasted like cheap convenience products. The meat dry and tasteless. And to top it all off, it's priced in a league that still needs a lot of quality improvement. After this experience we will definitely not come back and will not recommend it!

Five of us went to brunch in the setting and were disappointed, there was no longer a buffet like we knew and expected, but actually just a breakfast with scrambled eggs and a few fried potatoes. The price is too ambitious for that and the drinks are also overpriced, we won't visit the restaurant again. I still wish the new operators much success

A really great atmosphere. There is new management at the restaurant who is trying very hard and will certainly need some time to find their feet and make changes. We were served quickly and welcomed in a friendly manner. Our food was good. I can't understand the negative criticism here. The restaurant is definitely recommended and we will be back soon :-)

Hello, I was curious - came by here by chance about 3 weeks ago. It wasn't actually open yet, but the boss asked for entry anyway. Very warm, welcome gesture. Since the restaurant is being redeveloped, I was very interested. A completely different type of hospitality is maintained compared to before. All of my questions were answered willingly. I tried a few offers. I was surprised that she was very accommodating and only had to pay a price for the introduction. Very good, I promised to come back. This week I kept my promise. We received a very friendly welcome when accompanied. The choice of seats was made freely available to us at the tables offered. Very thoughtful gesture. The selection of dishes from the menu is well organized and presented in an attractive manner. In my opinion, price-performance is within the range of the claim. Simple dishes could please in relation to upscale dishes be corrected slightly downwards. In my opinion, this would make the location even more attractive. When presenting my food, I noticed a small error, which was immediately and very generously corrected. The meal was an experience, even in the eyes of my companion. We were there for breakfast on Sunday. It was really top service from the first minute 🫶. The food was very tasty and there was nothing missing 😋 we will definitely come for breakfast more often 😋❤️. The older gentleman who served us with a waitress was unique, he always had a funny Cologne saying on his lips and you immediately felt at home. Thank you for that . The boss himself often came to the table and asked if everything was okay😊 a very warm team and we would definitely like to come back ❤️🫶🫶

Wir waren begeistert. Die Dame vom Service absolut zuvorkommend. Das Essen der Hammer. Sehr große Portionen, da wird jeder satt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Seit langer Zeit mal wieder in der Kulisse gewesen. Wir hatten die Hoffnung, dass durch den neuen Pächter, das Essen besser ist. Leider wurden wir auch diesmal entäuscht. Es hat sich nichts geändert. Im Muschelgericht knirschte der Sand. Die Konsistenz der Muscheln gummiartig. Tomaten und Blattspinat völlig geschmacksneutral. Zudem wurde das Gericht mit einer ca. 2 cm dicken Käseschicht zugeschüttet, was die lieblose Zubeteitung auch nicht verbesserte. Eine Currywurst wurde lauwarm, mit einer pelzigen Schicht auf der Sauce serviert. Die Wurst wurde bestimmt samt Sauce in der Mikrowelle erhitzt. Die Fritten waren sehr dunkel, und machten den Eindruck als wären sie 2 x in der Friteuse gewesen. Das bekommt jeder schlechte Imbiss besser hin. Sicherlich hätten wir reklamieren können, aber wir wollten einen netten Abend verbringen. Wenn der Koch nicht merkt was er aus der Küche rausgibt, macht es wenig Sinn sich zu beklagen. Unser Fazit: Auch die 3. Chance vertan. Viel Geld für schlechtes Essen ausgegeben. Wir kommen nicht wieder!!!

Leider eine Enttäuschung auf ganzer Linie .. Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht mehr ..Essen teilweise noch TK ... falsche Ausszeichnung ..der Speisen .. Änderung der Bestellung weil . aus ..oder Aussagen ..haben wir nicht ..und dann doch ..

Wir haben zu zweit mit Baby im Kinderwagen dort zu Abend gegessen. Es hat bestimmt 5-10 Minuten gedauert bis wir eine Karte hatten, obwohl wenig los war und wir freundlich vom Kellner begrüßt wurden. Die Auswahl an Gerichten ist gut, die Renner sind denke ich Schnitzel und Flammkuchen, es gibt aber auch andere interessante Gerichte (zB Kalbsleber, Schweinesteaks, Steaks etc.). Die Portion war recht groß, meine Frau und ich sind beide satt geworden und haben ein Schnitzel noch eingepackt. Die Pommes waren deutlich zu lang in der Fritteuse, die waren durch und durch knusprig und gerade noch so ertragbar gesalzen.. Ansonsten waren beide Schnitzel (Jäger und das mit Schafskäse und Tomaten) lecker. Der Kellner kam oft genug (aber nicht zu oft) um zu fragen ob alles stimmt. Nur zum Ende hin wollten wir zahlen und ein Schnitzel eingepackt haben, da hat der Kellner locker 10 Minuten am Nachbartisch gequatscht. Das hatte er gern danach erledigen können, aber was soll's. Zur Location: man kann nett drinnen sitzen, wir hatten einen top Platz im Biergarten mit Blick auf den Rhein. Preise: Wir haben 60€ dagelassen für 2 Schnitzel und zwei Getränke. Das ist für das Paket auch am Limit was ich dafür zahlen würde. Es gibt einen Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür, praktisch wenn man wie wir mit Kinder(wagen) kommt. Wir kommen gern wieder, das Personal war nett, das Essen lecker und die Aussicht kann sich sehen lassen! Update: Ich war mittlerweile noch dreimal dort. Heute gab es Kalbsleber gegrillt mit Salat und für meine Frau Currywurst Pommes. Also sorry, aber bei den 13€ Currywurst muss definitiv mehr Pommes drauf, die Kosten das Restaurant beinahe nichts. Da hilft auch nicht der schöne Teller drüber hinweg zusehen. Die Leber war lecker, wenn auch die Portion mit dem kleinen Beilagensalat echt nicht groß war. Der Salat war zwar lecker aber sehr schwer zu mischen auf dem Mini Teller. Unsere Begleitung hatte ein Schweinesteak, dass mit 30€ schon kräftig zu Buche geschlagen hat, dafür war es gerade so okay. Ärgerlich: durch den Pächter Wechsel gibt es aktuell keine Kartenzahlung. Darauf würden wir weder beim Anruf zur Reservierung, noch durch ein DIN A4 Blatt oder ähnliches am Eingang hingewiesen. Bisher konnte man immer mit Karte zahlen. Daher müssten 2 von uns nach dem Essen noch kurz nach Hause (zum Glück ums Eck) Bargeld holen.

Jägerschnitzel ohne Fleisch erhalten. Habe mir durch ein Taxi schicken lassen(Gott-sei-Dank ein Zeuge).Reklamation wurde mir Angebote , wäre auf 2 x Taxi sitzen geblieben. Für mich untragbar. Nicht behinderten freundlich . Eigentlich kein Stern verdient.

Hervorragendes Restaurant mit gutbürgerliche Küche. Zusätzlich eine jahreszeitlich bedingte Karte mit Wildgerichten aus hiesiger Region. Die Speisen waren perfekt zubereitet. Ein Teil der Karte extra für Kinder. Uns hat es vorzüglich geschmeckt und wir kommen wieder, wenn wir in dieser Region sind.

Die Bewertungen hier sind eher negativ, dem möchte ich etwas entschieden entgegen setzen: Wir waren am 4.12.2023 zu 12 Leuten hier essen und es hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt! Die neuen Pächter führen erst seit wenigen Tagen dieses Restaurant und geben sich alle Mühe. Der Saal war etwas kalt, aber an Heizung und Strom wird schnellstmöglich gearbeitet. Können wir wieder weiterempfehlen!

Wir wollten da eigendlich unsere Hochzeit feiern. Aber auf Grund, das wir das Eindecken noch extra Bezahlen sollten ,pro Person, waren wir schon etwas verwundert. Deswegen haben wir uns umentschieden.

Leuke tent, maar eten was heel matig. De schnitsel was lekker, maar de zigeunersaus kwam uit de fabriek, was te dik en veel te machtig. Van de ovenaardappel met zalm was alleen de aardappel een beetje warm, de rest koud. Veel te duur voor de kwaliteit.

Wir haben in der Kulisse nach unserem Italienurlaub zu Abend gegessen. Wir haben Muscheln gegessen, einmal nach Hausfrauenart und einmal überbacken. Waren sehr lecker. Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Lokal gibt es schon seit Jahrzehnten in Wesseling. Der Biergarten ist sehr beliebt und die Speisenauswahl ist gut bürgerlich und für jeden Geschmack was vorhanden. Immer wieder gerne!!!!

We were here before so we new that the restaurant is on the pricey side. BUT to charge 10 euro for a cheese cake which was a really small one as I attach picture, I fined it ridiculous. I was very surprised when I got served with it, but to be fair, it was delicious . Still, for sure I will never order it again. Our mussels were nice too. It's an OK place to go sometimes.

Das Essen war sehr lecker ,allerdings hat der Außenbereich etwas an Ambiente nachgelassen. Hoffentlich wird er in der nächsten Saison wieder etwas mehr gepflegt. Ansonsten ein schönes Lokal.

Sehr schade, da gut gelegen mit Blick auf den Rhein und früher für uns öfter Anlaufstelle bei Radtouren gewesen.Nachdem wir vor einer Weile vom Essen her enttäuscht waren, wollten wir nochmal eine Chance geben. Leider auch enttäuschend.😞 Zwar freundlich empfangen u.bedient, aber leider gibt es keinen koffeinfreien Kaffee(muss doch öfter nach gefragt werden?)und nur Pfefferminz-oder schwarzen Tee als alternative. Wir entschieden uns für Pflaumenkuchen m Sahne u.Apfelkuchen, sowie 1 Cola, die abgestanden schmeckte, mit minimaler Kohlensäure. Ich blieb ohne Getränk, hatte zwar bei Bestellung angefragt, ob ich altern.was warme Milch haben könnte, da ich immer 1 Tüte koffeinfr.Instantkaffee mit habe. Der junge Mann wollte fragen, aber es kam leider keine Antwort mehr zurück. Beide Kuchen kamen warm gemacht an, daneben ein Tupfen Sprühsahne. Der Pflaumenkuchen zerfiel schon. Wir denken es war abgetauter, warm gemachter Kuchen. Sehr lieblos und viel zu süss. Echt schade, aber wir wurden nun zum 2.Mal enttäuscht, werden daher dort nicht mehr hingehen. Die 2 Sterne sind für den schönen Rheinblick und den eigentl.freundlichen Service, auch wenn ich ohne Getränk verblieb.

Wir haben unsere Hochzeit in der Kulisse gefeiert und sind super zufrieden mit unserer Wahl! Das Essen, die Location, das Personal - es war alles perfekt! Das Gespräch zuvor mit der Chefin war sehr nett und informativ. Es gab keine versteckten Kosten und uns wurde sehr viel an Arbeit abgenommen. Das Buffet war der Wahnsinn und das Personal hat unseren Tag sehr erleichtert. Alle waren zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und engagiert. Immer wieder 🩵

Es war ein sehr schöner und gemütlicher Abend und das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und zu empfehlen 👍🏻

Wir sind seit einigen Jahren immer wieder gerne in der Kulisse gewesen, weil uns das Ambiente so gut gefällt (nach dem Umbau mehr denn je) und Essen und Getränke stets super waren. Darum hatten wir dort am Dienstag auch für unsere kleine Hochzeitsfeier mit 20 Personen gebucht. Vorspeise und Dessert am Tisch, Hauptgang als Buffet und vorab ein kleiner Empfang mit Getränken. Da hier Einige über die Preise meckern: das Ganze kam erstaunlich günstig! Das Essen war lecker und reichlich, die großen Wasserflaschen in den Kühlern wurden immer zügig nachgereicht, auch die anderen Getränke kamen schnell. Schön war auch, dass uns der Bereich direkt an der Bar und die Sitzgelegenheiten davor mit freigehalten wurden. So konnte man sich ein bisschen bewegen und bei der Hitze auch mal etwas frische Luft schnappen. Das Personal war wie immer sehr freundlich. Es gab auch einen Extra-Tisch für Blumen und Geschenke und wir durften einen Hochzeitskuchen mitbringen, ohne dass uns wie in manch anderer Location üblich ein "Tellergeld" berechnet wurde. Das Einzige, was es zu bemängeln gäbe war, dass wir bei Ankunft ein wenig zu lange auf das Servieren der Getränke für den Empfang warten mussten. Aber sonst wie immer Alles top! Es war eine wunderschöne Hochzeitsfeier!

Die Kulisse hat schon bessere Zeiten erlebt. Gardinen dreckig, voller Fliegensch..... Spinngewebe an der Tischlampen. Sorry, aber das geht nicht. Unser Essen war geschmacklich fade. Der Service war OK. Fazit; Zur Zeit nicht noch einmal. NACHTRAG: EC-Gerät immer noch defekt? Sehr sehr seltsam!!!

Wat een goed restaurant is dit! Wij hebben schnitzel gegeten, ze waren echt enorm, en super lekker. Achter het restaurant zit een groot terras waar je erg gezellig kan zitten, met ook een buiten bar, en kinderen kunnen er in het speeltuintje spelen. Als je in Wesseling bent zou ik dit zeker aanraden! De prijs is wel iets hoger dan een gemiddeld Duits schnitzel-menu maar dat is het zeker waard.

Wir hatten vor Wochen Brunch für 17 Personen gebucht. Bekommen haben wir Frühstück (`a 25,90€) Für wenig Auswahl total überteuert. Okay kann man machen, wenn man das auch so kommuniziert. Tee bestellt, Glas mit kaltem Wasser und Teebeutel bekommen. Lillet bestellt, sherry im Glas...Auf vorbereiten Tellern fehlte 6 x die Butter. Später kurz vor Ende wurde man vom Personal gerufen, man solle doch bar bezahlen.(weil Rechnung über 800 € und angeblich Kartenleser kaputt) Cool, fragen sich die Gäste, ob man Geldprobleme hat. Das war das letzte Mal, dass wir in der Kulisse waren. Haben viel Geld da gelassen, müssen jetzt ohne uns auskommen. Mit unfreundlichen Grüßen aus Rondorf Karola und Peter

Wonderful place with fantastic views to the Rhin River. Nice food and Kölsch Beers. The services of the waitress was pretty good.

Sehr schön eingerichtet, tolle Atmosphäre, das Essen war superlecker und qualitativ hochwertig. Sehr nette Bedienung. Absolut empfehlenswert 👍👍👍
