Recently ordered take out from here & it was my first time trying Afghanisch overall, wow I was really missing out! The food was delicious, unique and fresh in flavour. I look forward to ordering again ♡

The food is actually very good, but the Kabuli Palau doesn't taste quite as delicious with cumin/masala as is typical for this dish.

We just ate here, and the food and atmosphere are very good. We had Ashak, Mantu, and Kabuli Palau. At the end, we got firini on the house. I will definitely come again, Tashakur ❤️

We ate at Kucci today and it was simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious – fresh, aromatic, and prepared with so much love. We were especially impressed by the spices and the quality of the ingredients. 🍽️ The service was also warm and attentive; we immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere was cozy, clean, and simply pleasant – you can tell right away that they work with passion. We will definitely be back and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine of the highest quality. Absolutely top-notch! 👏🔥

The salad tasted watery, the dumplings (ahshak) were vegetarian but tasty and well-seasoned. The waitress was inattentive and unengaged. I felt uncomfortable as a guest.

I keep coming back for the lunch menu (especially the vegetarian Lagma)! The owners are so friendly, and the food is delicious. It's a special place, full of rugs and hidden corners.

I ordered chicken biryani which was disappointing.😔 They didn't accept our card payment so we had to go out at 10 o'clock in the night to find the nearest card machine. Not a pleasant experience.

Food was very nice. Enjoyed massively, just make sure you get the proper Arab/Afghani food. However my family didn't enjoy the vegetarian options as much, so make sure you go for the meat options!

The food is delicious; we sat outside, which was quite quiet for Stühlinger :-). One star deducted because we would have liked to drink more, but we always had to make ourselves known, even though several other tables were occupied and the staff walked past us several times, even though they could have registered an empty glass or taken the provided dishes. Otherwise, friendly, but it lacks a bit of attention.

When you go to a traditional Afghan restaurant, you expect to enjoy authentic Afghan food — especially the bread, which is an essential part of the experience. Instead, we were served traditional Albanian bread. When I asked about it, I was told that due to the lack of Afghans in the area and not having the right tools, they couldn’t make traditional Afghan bread. To add to the disappointment, the overall quality of the food was poor. Despite that, we paid the full bill — not because we were satisfied, but out of respect and courtesy for ourselves.

We were there at lunchtime. The food was excellent and very tasty. The service was friendly.

Seulement la viande était bonne. Les boissons on était servi plus d une heure après la commande ainsi que les plats. Trop d attente. De plus, sur l addition nous étions plusieurs et donc nous avons payé chacun nos part mais il y avait des euros en plus rajouté.

After a very long wait, we are told that the rice we ordered is no longer available. We chose the dish because of the special rice, among other things, and otherwise we would have opted for the dumplings. The side salad comes relatively quickly, then nothing happens for almost an hour. We would have expected at least a small gesture, but that didn't come. There are better ways to eat Afghan food in Freiburg - we will orientate ourselves differently in the future.

The establishment impresses with its appealing atmosphere and courteous staff, although the price level is more in the upper segment. I hit the proverbial mark with my selection, although I wouldn't order the Dugh again - its taste is strongly reminiscent of a cucumber salad sauce that has little culinary inspiration. My culinary expedition began with “Borani Banjan”, a sophisticated combination of fried eggplant and a pleasantly fresh curd-tomato sauce, accompanied by flatbread. For the main course I chose “Ahschak vegetarian”, steamed dumplings with an aromatic leek filling, artfully arranged on a curd-garlic-tomato sauce, complemented by salad. Both dishes tasted excellent, although the main course was rather modest at 18 euros for the portion offered. My partner's orders left a solid but unimpressive impression - enough for a one-time visit, but not compelling enough to justify a return.

It was medium to good As already described, the atmosphere is pleasant. The service is friendly. The rice with carrots and almonds was good. But I had the impression that some of it had been pre-cooked for a long time. The roast lamb from the leg was disappointing. Here there were 4-5 thumb-sized pieces floating in a very liquid soup. It was spicy, but more of a small soup.

The atmosphere is great, all the service staff are very nice and accommodating. The food was simply delicious, from the starter to the dessert. We'll definitely be back. Table reservations recommended.

I am not an expert on Afghan cuisine and therefore my rating mainly refers to the overall composition of the dishes. I found the salad I had quite boring and the pakaura was almost unseasoned and there wasn't even any salt on it. And then I think 7.- for three slices of eggplant is just cheeky when they aren't even particularly tasty. Likewise, just under 5 euros for a bowl of rice as a side dish is really not ok. I've eaten there twice now and I'm just not satisfied. I always spent a lot of money on food. It was ok at the moment... I don't know what's going on with the gastronomy scene. Do people still enjoy cooking? The ambience is really nice, with ground floor seating and carpets. That's why I went... I wanted to be comfortable. However, I found the music in the background, which was reminiscent of Orient trap, really annoying. I'm not coming back. No hard feelings :)…

Definitely worth a visit! From the starter (Afghan Maultäschle aka Mantu) to the main course to the dessert and espresso, everything was excellent. The employees are super friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable here and would love to come back. Fresh delicious food at a fair price.

Kucci is the right place for a culinary experience. The food is amazing, the spices, flavors, everything. In addition, the service is very courteous and friendly. Overall, the restaurant offers a very nice ambience. Reservations make sense on weekends. Always my pleasure!

I love Kabuli Palau and have to try it wherever I find it on offer. For me, Kucci has the best Kabuli Palau that I have eaten in Freiburg so far. The quantity and price are also absolutely satisfactory. The furnishings and ambience are very nice and loving. There are both normal tables and chairs (also outside), and inside there are floor-level seating areas with carpets and cushions where you have to take off your shoes and eat cross-legged. This is totally comfortable. The seating areas are separated from each other with cloths for more privacy. There is also the option to order for collection and this is usually very quick, but they do not deliver. Another positive thing to mention is the free parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. All in all, definitely worth a visit, or two or three. It is definitely one of my favorite restaurants.

After a long time I was here again and it is as always. Delicious food, very friendly service and it's just very cozy. So after many years of Kucci, it is still highly recommended!

Great afghan restaurant in Freiburg! Try Ashak or Mantu (as main or starter). Plan with more time (30-40mins) because they prepare everything on their own with fresh ingredients:)

We had a wonderful dinner here. We are vegetarian and had lots of options to choose from. All the food we had - dumplings, soup, eggplant, and a dessert - were super delicious. The dumplings in particular were amazing and very warming. The staff were friendly and helpful, and patient with our low level of German. Totally recommend it.

Schönes Ambiente und sehr leckeres Essen, alles frisch und der Service war auch super.

Afghanische Küche, eine besonders leckere Angelegenheit. Sehr frische Produkte, ein Geschmackserlebnis in einem besonderem Ambiete ( viele Teppiche und Tische mit Sitzmulden). Sehr nette Bedienung, wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt.

We had a wonderful evening with delicious Afghan food at Kucci. We ordered a Mantu & Ashak combo (afghan dumplings with minced meat or leek fillings), Kabuli Palau (rice with finely chopped carrots and raisins) with a side of lamb meat, onions, mushrooms and egg, a mixed pan of eggplant and tomato. As sides we had some fresh green salad and flat bread. For dessert we went with Firni, a creamy almond / milk pudding topped with pistachio. The food was all very tasty and our 7y + 9y old kids also enjoyed it a lot. I greatly encourage you to try Afghan food if you haven't yet. Our waiter was very friendly and seated us in a cozy, comfortable and beautiful floor seating covered with carpets and under a roof like a canopy bed. Would come back any time.

Sehr sehr unfreundlicher und ungepflegter Service (der Geruch kaum auszuhalten) wir mussten ca eine halbe std auf unsere Getränke warten, das Essen kam ca 1Std nach der Bestellung. Das Restaurant hatte nur einen weiteren Tisch besetzt. Das Essen ist alles andere als Afghanisch authentisch. Geschmacklos und lieblos angerichtet. Die Größe der Vorspeisen und auch der Hauptspeisen ist ein Witz. Seit dem Besitzerwechsel hat sich alles verändert außer die schöne Einrichtung. Nie nie wieder !!!

Kucci ist der Hammer! Hier gibt's super leckeres afghanisches Essen, das echt authentisch schmeckt. Hab das Kofta Tschalau "Gemüsereis"~Kabuli Palau probiert - beides total köstlich und perfekt gewürzt. Das Restaurant ist sauber, gemütlich und die Leute, die dort arbeiten, sind total nett. Egal, ob du schon mal afghanisches Essen probiert hast oder nicht, bei Kucci wirst du es lieben. Kann's nur empfehlen! Freu mich schon auf's nächste Mal.

Freundliche Bedienung Sehr hübsche einrichtung Leckeres essen. Hauptgericht war der Afgahnische Grillteller. Sehr lecker, gute Portionsgröße. Dazu ein Hefe Weizen und ein Kännchen Tee. Nachtisch war eine kleiner Fruchzeisbecher. Hätte mehr sein können aber für 4.90 ok.

Das Licht, dass über uns leutete hat geflakkert. Das hat mir einen Diskotheken Gefühl gegeben. Natürlich wollte ich das nicht und habe gefordert, dass wir einen anderen Platz bekommen. Haben wir dann auch nicht bekommen. Das Essen hat nach Fahrrad geschmeckt. Nicht weiter zu empfehlen. Service war gut.

一家和同事一起来的阿富汗中亚风格的餐厅，内部装潢和音乐很不错，还有供最多8个人席地而坐的小包间，很有特色，是加分项。至于食物，也就是简单的中亚风格的米面食，各种香料，味道还可以但是没有特别惊艳，性价比也不算好，人均30欧主菜加甜点加饮料。服务是有点失败的了，首先上菜真的非常慢，点完菜大概要等半个小时才能吃上，甚至还把我点的主菜给忘了，体验不好，希望只是个别情况。。。总体而言一般般吧，想要猎奇地域风格的人可以一试

The food was excellent, well spiced, truly succulent. Vegetable entrees had heat, coriander, cardamon, all in good proportions. The atmosphere is quite cozy. I would happily eat there again. Why not five stars? I ate on a Sunday, the restaurant was not that crowded, but seemed understaffed. The wait for my dessert was unexpected, and not welcome.

Das Kucci hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente und freundliches Personal. Es gibt eine ausgesuchte und feine Auswahl traditionell afghanischer Speisen. Egal ob vegan, vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder hier her!

Die Atmosphäre in dem Restaurant ist auf eine tolle Art und Weise leger. Wir wollten zum ersten Mal Afghanisch essen und unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Die Besitzer und Mitarbeiter sind alle äußerst freundlich und das Essen war wunderbar gewürzt und mit Liebe gekocht. Danke für die gute Erfahrung! Ich empfehle das Abendessen mit einem Tee zu begleiten.

Zuerst: das Essen ist wirklich gut Die lange Wartenzeiten beim Essen bringen: nicht so schlimm. Mein Ärger: Mit einem Gutschein über 30€ gehen wir dort essen. Beim Bezahlen nehmen sie den Gutschein nicht an. Begründung: Besitzerwechsel vor 2 Monaten. Name, Essen, Einrichtung hatten sich nicht geändert. Obwohl die diesen Gutschein annehmen müssten, blieben sie stur. Kein Vorschlag zur Güte wie "ein Getränk (Schnaps) kann ich ihnen anbieten", oder "ich kann Ihnen wenigstens 10€ erlassen" oder ähnliches. Wie dilettantisch ist das denn? Mit uns hat Kucci mind. 3 und unsere Freunde (leider) verloren. Aber - wie gesagt - das Essen ist gut

Wir sind zum ersten Mal in diesem Restaurant gewesen. Die Bedienung ist mit der Anzahl der Gäste überfordert und das Wesentliche, der Reis (Kabeli) entspricht nicht dem, was man aus der afghanischen Küche kennt. Er ist viel zu dunkel und zu hart. Die Beilagen hingegen sind ok gewesen. Mantu und Ashak sind bedeutend schärfer als ich es kenne, geschmacklich aber ok.

Wirklich sehr gute Speisen, wir hatten Ashak, Mandu, Kabuli Pilaf, alles ausgezeichnet! Sehr schöne, gemütliche Sitzecken, mit Liebe zum Détail dekoriert. Nette Bedienung. Bisher das beste afghanische Essen das ich essen durfte. Wir kommen wieder. Frieden für das afghanische Volk!

Uns wurde das Restaurant von „Locals“ empfohlen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht! Wer afghanische Speisen mag mit den typischen Gewürzen der Region Kardamom, Kumin, Curry ..., der wird hier ganz viel Auswahl haben. Und hat es jedenfalls sehr geschmeckt! Übrigens: direkt vor dem Restaurant gibt es eigene Parkplätze:-)

Essen sehr gut, aber sehr lange Wartezeiten. Seit mehr als 25 Minuten leere Gläser und Teller und trotzem keinerlei Nachfrage, ob wir weitere Getränke oder (Nach-)Speisen bestellen oder zahlen möchten. Ein Hauptgericht wurde komplett falsch serviert. Erst nach über 5 Minuten Wartezeit war eine Nachfrage beim Personal möglich und nach mindestens weiteren 5 Minuten informierte uns die Bedienung, dass eine Zubereitung des korrekten Gerichts weitere 20 Minuten dauern würde. Das ist zwar schade, aber Fehler können passieren und die Bedieung war sehr nett. Die Krönung des Abends war allerdings, dass der Besitzer / Geschäftsführer meine Frau vor anderen Gästen lautstark angepampt hat, ob wir nicht endlich bezahlen und gehen wollen, da der Tisch ab 20.00 für andere Gäste reserviert wäre. Ich weiß nicht, ob das zur (in der Karte stark angepriesenen) Gastfreundlichkeit gehört, aber wenn es nicht recht ist, dass wir über 90 € plus Trinkgeld in seinem Restaurant lassen, hätte er uns auch anderweitig in Kenntnis setzen können. Gerne geben wir unser Geld auch anderweitig in der freiburger Gastronomie aus. Es wäre durchaus nett gewesen, eventuell einen Mitarbeiter an den Tisch zu schicken, um uns auf die Folgereservierung hinzuweisen, zu fragen, ob wir nicht zahlen möchten oder gerne auch persönlich vorbei zu kommen, aber da wir zwischenzeitlich über 30 Minuten ohne Service am Tisch verbrachten, gestaltete sich das jedoch eher schwierig. Auch ist es mir als Gast nicht bewußt, ständig die Uhr im Blick zu haben, aber falls hier eine öffentliche Rüge und und ein Defilee, vorbei an den erbosten, wartenden Gästen, zur Art des Hauses, sollte es wohl so sein. Müssen wir jetzt nicht mehr unbedingt haben...

Wir waren schon öfter hier essen. Dieses Mal waren wir nicht so zufrieden. Die Bedienung war nicht sehr Aufmerksam und obwohl das Restaurant nur halb voll war langsam. Das Essen war vom Geschmack gut. Allerdings sind die Portionen seit unserem letzten Besuch schon geschrumpft. Der Salat war ein liebloser kleiner Happen auf grüne Blätter gelegt. Diese mal hat das Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht gepasst. Wir hoffen, das ändert sich wieder,

Es ist schon wahr, das Restaurant ist ziemlich groß mit traditionellen und vielen herkömmlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten, und bei kompletter Auslastung kann es schon mal zu längeren Wartezeiten kommen. Aber das Essen macht alles mehr als wett und daher ist es für mich keinen Grund, einen Punktabzug zu geben. Einfach hingehen, sich von der netten Atmosphäre verzaubern lassen und sich bei einem Appéritif die Zeit vertreiben, um dann umsomehr das Essen zu geniessen, denn es ist wirklich afghanische Küche vom feinsten.

Visited here with my friend over winter break. Service was amazing even though the servers didn’t know much English. They offer an English menu. Great selection of drinks at the bar and an evening better selection of foods. Totally recommend getting the surprise appetizer! We enjoyed some fried vegetables, lamb with rice, and a nice salad. Would recommend!

Samstag Abend mit Reservierung. Extrem lange Wartezeit. 25 min für das Trinken. 1h20 für die Vorspeise. 1h50 für das Hauptgericht. Gäste verließen das Restaurant weil die Geduld am Ende war. Zahlreiche Reklamationen wegen der Zeit. Essen war sehr gut. Aber trotzdem nicht mehr wieder. Meine Frau wollte drei Punkte geben. Ich einen. Also zwei

Das Essen ist sehr Lecker und die Einrichtung ist super gemütlich. Ich war gestern Abend mit 8 Gäste und sie waren begeistert. Ich würde gerne wieder hingehen.

Two evening dinners in a row. Yes, after the first evening we returned because we liked the food so much. This happens only infrequently, that is, that one likes the meal and the ambience at a given restaurant so much two nights in a row, one will have a craving for the same food again. Well, that was the case with us. I would give this place five stars were it not for the somewhat lacking service. I think they might have needed one more waiter or waitress because the ones that were serving both nights looked overworked and didn’t pay too much attention to detail. However they were courteous and even the owner was invested in making sure that all the tables were waited on. I will come back to this place. I highly recommend the mixed grill.

Very nice place. Service is good. I had one of the most amazing vegetarian courses in my life, ( #243 in the menu), like Dimsam but a lot better and much delicious. Very recommended.

The service is very friendly. The quantity are big and the food is very good: nice oriental touch. I definitely recommand this restaurant. Just be careful to bring some cash as they do not accept credit card.
