The best experience I had while visiting Freiburg (Breisgau). The food was amazing, u can get the best flavor in every bite. lovely stuff, the Onwer Mirwais was super friendly and professional. I went there 3 times I would recommend to everyone and I would definitely go there again if I ever got the chance.

The food was truly delicious. We had, among other dishes, Takari Palau and Mantu. We sat in the small side room near the entrance to the market hall.

A delicious mixed platter with various delicacies. Delicious and something different. The price is absolutely reasonable, too.

I had the Kabul Bowl (no. 12). It was incredibly delicious. Tender and wonderfully seasoned lamb, super-flavorful eggplant, super-flavorful rice, and a really crisp, fresh salad. I also briefly tried the okra from the dish "Okra Palau" (no. 11) at a friend's house. I also found it very tasty and well-made. It was simply wonderful. I also really liked that the spicy sauces were offered separately and for self-service. One made with chili and one with coriander. And with the yogurt sauce, I was specifically asked if I wanted any. It was super fast, and the service was very kind and friendly. Plus, the portion size is just right, I think. You really get more than full, but you don't have to leave anything. I'll definitely be back! Addendum: We were there again. This time I had Mantu (no. 1). Dumplings filled with minced meat in sauce. They specifically asked me whether I wanted fresh coriander on top or not. I also had a yogurt drink with cucumber pieces and herbs. Both were super, super delicious.

So, I was here for a late breakfast with two colleagues, and none of us had ever had Afghan cuisine before. IT WAS SO AWESOME! I HAD OKRA AND SALAD, AND THE RICE WAS DELICIOUS, AND THERE WAS SAUCES AND VEGETARIAN OPTIONS, AND AFFORDABLY!!! I love raisins, and you can have them without, but with raisins it was twice as good. I'LL BE BACK!!! (and the salesperson was lovely☺️)

Het eten was zeer lekker en het zag er ook prima uit. Makkelijk maar super lekker, ik hou er wel van, maar de markt zelf is zeer luid tijdens etenstijd. Als het regent is het in de markt zeer vol en luidruchtig. Je hebt veel keuzes van verschillende keukens 😋

We shared a portion of Mantu. The Mantu were freshly made, so we waited a bit, but that was announced and we were able to do something else in the meantime. We really enjoyed the Mantu and the service was very friendly.

Freiburg is a cultural and culinary disaster. Too many students and tourists: there aren't many kebabs or "Black Forest steaks" (loin with cherries). But this restaurant offers variety. Quality (the rice!) and friendly service. Exotic ambience: Anyone who wants to find themselves transported to foreign worlds will love it.

Vorweg - das Essen ist gut, keine Frage. Ich habe mich dennoch sehr geärgert und werde auch nicht mehr dort essen gehen. Für einen gemischten Teller verlangen die Besitzer 13,50 Euro. Auf diesem befindet sich der günstige eisbergsalat eine Menge Reis und ganze drei Stücke Auberginen sowie drei Stücke Lammfleisch. Auf meine Nachfrage, ob man da nicht noch etwas mehr Auberginen draufmachen könnte, wurde mir die Gegenfrage gestellt:“ wissen sie wieviel eine Aubergine kostet?“ Nein, weiß ich nicht und ist mir auch egal. Das ist keine Relation mehr und auch wenn das Essen gut ist, überragend ist es dann auch nicht. Schade - früher habe ich gerne dort gegessen, in Zukunft definitiv nicht mehr.

We had a delicious meal during our visit to the Markthallen. The mix bowl was great! A combination of rice with various vegetables, meat and sauce. Moreover, very friendly staff. Enjoyed it very much!

Really poor quality. Lamb was tough. Eggplant was not fully cooked. Flavors meh! And 80% rice. 13 Euro. Never again.

Delicious food at a reasonable price

Great food! We were there recently because of an “insider tip”. What can I say, we are absolutely thrilled!! Afghan mix plate is the burner!! We'll definitely be back!

Ein Stand im Fressgässle in Freiburg. Ich fand mein Gericht "Bolani" sehr ansprechend und geschmacklich sehr authentisch. Kann man nur empfehlen einmal auszuprobieren, wie fast jeden Stand im Fressgässle (Markthalle).

Ein kleiner aber feiner Afghanischer Spezialitäten Stand in der Markthalle. Ich fand mein Gericht ganz lecker und es hat mich auch Optisch sehr angesprochen, natürlich muss jeder selbst seine Erfahrung machen mit Orientalischem Essen. Mir schmeckt es auf jeden fall :-)

-Afghanischer Stand in der Markthalle- Empfehlen kann ich hier ganz besonders das Gericht ,,Bolani". Gibt es vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch. Beides hervorragend!! 👌😋 Es besteht aus Katoffelbrot, dazu gibt es eine frisch gekochte, leckere Tomatensoße ( aus frischen Tomaten ), nach Wunsch Joghurtsoße drüber ( ebenfalls gut ), wahlweise mit Auberginen oder eben Fleisch.

Mit Neugier bin ich gemeinsam mit meiner Frau in die Markthalle. Direkt ist uns die schön aufgebaute Theke ins Auge gefallen. Unsere Bestellung wurde von einer netten jungen Damen entgegengenommen. Das Gericht war super lecker und frisch. Zum Abschluss haben wir uns einen afghanischen schwarzen Tee mit Kardamom gegönnt. Sehr zum weiterempfehlen. Das wird nicht das einzige Mal gewesen sein.

Nice stuff! Staff is very friendly and both dishes I tried - mantu (dumplings) & bolani (lamb stew with a fried and potato-filled bread) - I can actually recommend. Try them with the chili and coriander sauces, they add an extra layer of flavours you don't wanna miss.

Das Konzept der Mrkthalle ist einfach toll, hier kann man in einer Gruppe kommen und auch wenn der eine Chinesisch möchte und der andere Italienisch, und wieder ein anderer Aghanisch oder aus anderen Ländern, hier kann die ganze Gruppe essen und jeder kommt auf seinen Geschmack. Einer der vielen Stände ist das "Kabul". Die Afghanische Küche ist sowieso wirklich sehr lecker und raffiniert. Geprägt durch den Einfluss Arabiens, Indiens und Chinas sind die Afghanischen Spezialitäten etwas besonderes. Gewürzt mit traumhafter Raffinesse und unter verwendung edler Gewürze werden hier im Kabul feine Speisen auf Kartoffel, Reis und Teigbasis kreiert. Mal mit Lamm, mit Huhn, mit Rind oder auch vegetarisch. Die Gerichte sind alle frisch gekocht und mit guten Zutaten. Bis auf ein oder zwei Gerichte, ist alles für unter 10 € zu haben. Man darf nicht den Fehler machen, deshalb die örtlichen afghanischen Restaurants zu meiden, weil es da teurer ist. Für ein romantisches Dinner, sollte man nicht in die Markthalle gehen. Die Restaurants müssen mehr verlangen, da sie höhere Fixkosten haben. Nun wir wurden hier im Kabul sehr lieb bedient und haben fantastisch gegessen.
