Location and atmosphere really delight but I'm afraid neither the food nor service do the same. I recommend a cheeky pint and game of cards here but you're better off eating elsewhere.

Quite a nice beer garden. Unfortunately it's right on the street and therefore very noisy. We all really enjoyed the beer. The food is below average at best. This had little to do with the hearty and tasty dishes of our Bavarian homeland.

Super nice staff. Delicious, hearty food and decent portions. And of course delicious beer. And the location was already jovel 30 years ago.

Very nice, rustically furnished restaurant with Bavarian cuisine. The Leberkäse with fried potatoes, fried egg and Bavarian mustard tasted excellent. Plus a cool Almdudler, what more could you want? In summer you can also sit outside in the beer garden. The staff is very friendly and the prices are also fair. I was very satisfied. Absolutely recommended.

The food really wasn't good - the fries were very hard and the gravy seemed instant. And 20 euros per dish is not justified.

We spent a very nice day in the beer garden!

The place has a lovely outdoor sitting area. I’ve come here twice and had a bad experience with customer service both nights. First night, I tried to sit at one of the open tables in the beer garden and was rudely and forcefully told by the server to sit at a different table (presumably because it would be more convenient for him). I tried to ask a question following his command to sit, but he was already walking away and didn’t answer. I decided to go elsewhere. Returned on another day to try it out. Asked the first person working whether I should order at the bar or take a seat for a beer. She said to order at the bar. I asked for a beer at the bar to take outside. Bartender said to go take a seat outside and the server would come. Went outside and as I was walking over a third person (the outdoor server) asked what I wanted to order (while he was walking by). I replied, a beer. 20 minutes later, he has still not brought the beer. I’m leaving just as soon as I post this review. Will not be back.

Fried potatoes no salt no pepper schnitzel just a dollop of sauce never again

Unfortunately we drove 30 km only to be told that the cook had apparently become ill. And this despite a confirmed reservation. Too bad...

The service staff was very nice! The food came after just under 10 minutes and unfortunately we were very disappointed! The portions were very economical and the price was unreasonably overpriced! Unfortunately, the chef's passion did not translate into the food and we cannot recommend it because although it is called Bavarian cuisine, it is kept far too simple and has no recognition value! The atmosphere is quite nice, but you should clean the white parasols and tidy up one or two corners of the outdoor area! The fact that you can only pay by card and no longer with cash is one of the reasons not to visit this restaurant anymore!

Nice staff Food was so-so for the price, fried potatoes had probably been in the pan for a few hours. Fresh schnitzel or convenience...?! Unclear.

We had cheese spaetzle, which was ok, but I wouldn't order it again. The service employees were rather unmotivated. After the second drink no one came anymore, so we couldn't place another order. The umbrellas in the beer garden are unworthy... Maybe we should think about new covers next summer season. Toilets should also be cleared of cobwebs and spiders. That wasn't from a few hours

The food there was okay, not super good but not bad either. When it comes to the ambience and drinking a beer, the tip top is also the beer garden. What shocked me, however, was that 0.4 cola costs €5.80, sorry guys, that's just a rip-off and a huge impudence!

If the plate had been warmer, the food would have been warm longer. It was explained to us & as a southern German everything was good 👍 & can only be recommended

We just had a drink at Spatzl. The service was quick and very friendly. The food we saw at the neighboring tables looked very appetizing.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is also friendly and attentive. Most of the food tastes ok. The roulade tasted very good but unfortunately the size was absolutely overpriced for the price. Overall, the restaurant is ok but unfortunately very expensive for the portion sizes. You can do it when you come over, but you don't have to.

Very tasty beers and Bavarian specialties

The boss has ordered that cash will no longer be accepted in his shop. That's why we won't be coming back. Good luck. Cash means freedom!

The liver cheese and fried potatoes were there in 10 minutes. They weren't crispy but warmed up. Terribly flabby. Food 1 star at most

Nice beer garden with almost a view of the lake. Delicious Bavarian dishes, delicious beer. And warm pretzels with butter. What more could you want? The perfect stop after a walk around Lake Aasee.

Overall, a very good and cozy atmosphere. The prices are a little higher than expected... for half a stick 17 euros... The food overall could taste better. The only drawback was that you can only pay with EC

My husband and I enjoy coming there. The food is always great. Unfortunately it's a bit loud there.

Unfortunately our table was a little dirty and we had to clean it ourselves. It was also relatively loud there. The beer and coffee we drank there were very good.

Food and service good. However, I was surprised at how expensive everything had become.

The food was very tasty but could have been a little more. The service was okay at the beginning around 7:30 p.m. until around 9-10 p.m. After that the frequency dropped significantly and you had the impression that you should leave. There's still a lot of room for improvement... unfortunately

Great beer garden and friendly service

At first we just had a drink, but the atmosphere was suitable for a Bavarian shop. The service was quick and friendly and the food at the other tables looked and smelled delicious. Will definitely try it next time...

Great beer garden, good service, mediocre food quality: just warmed up, with ready-made sauces etc. It's a shame - at least the beer tastes good.

I went to Spatzl with great expectations and was unfortunately disappointed. First of all, I give the two stars in my rating, one for the excellent service and another for the excellent ambience. I give the food one star because the fries, which you can't go wrong with, were quite OK. The mushroom schnitzel was apparently convenience food that wasn't even heated in a pan or deep fryer but apparently in some oven or other hot air device. That's why the breading was completely dried out and hard. Even the dollop of sauce (if you want to call it jelly-like) couldn't change that. The taste of the schnitzel wasn't a revelation either. Unfortunately, the final apple strudel had little taste and was only spiced up by the cream and vanilla sauce. My conclusion, if you want to stay here to have a drink and sit nicely, you can fully recommend it. Unfortunately, you can't really eat well here (and of course I can only refer to my food here). And when you take the prices into account, it's almost outrageous what's on offer there. You can no longer justify this with the ambience. I hope someone from Spatzl reads this and takes it as an opportunity to think about food.

Quite rustic beer garden, the service wears traditional costume. Quite ambitious prices, quality of paprika schnitzel and Kasspatzen rather average, the latter tasted more like Gouda than mountain cheese. The Spatzl Rivaner certainly tastes even better chilled. The food comes to the table very quickly! Things get a little quieter after 9 p.m. More of an older audience.

The Spatzl is a traditional Bavarian restaurant with a cozy beer garden that impresses in terms of atmosphere and food. The food is delicious and typically Bavarian – exactly what you would expect from a restaurant like this. The beer garden is pleasant and offers a nice setting to enjoy food and a cold beer. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par during our visit. Even though the restaurant wasn't full, it took a long time for our order to be taken. We also had to be patient when paying, as the staff seemed to pay little attention to the guests. Overall, Spatzl is a good place for Bavarian cuisine, but the service could definitely be improved to make the experience a positive one overall.

Met a friend there for a couple of beers and were a bit surprised that we had to make a reservation. I don't know it from beer gardens. This time it worked without a reservation.

Food very average and not enough for what you get, beer delicious and location nice

The positive first: great location right on Lake Aasee! Looking at the menu: oh... not exactly cheap... so the "Aasee Jause for 2 people" for €27.90. First impression: on top there are 3 “meat patties” (bone-hard on the outside) - a strange number for a plate of two. The radishes were missing and the "house bread" turned out to be standard baguette slices... but maybe that's how it is in Bavaria 😉. Conclusion: I'd love to go for a beer in the summer - go there to eat: no.

Food (chicken) dry and hardly edible, unfortunately no exception... Otherwise ok as a beer garden

The food was very tasty. I had the Viennese style schnitzel, my husband had the roulade. Portions are decent. The staff cheerful and friendly. The beer garden is nice but quite loud because it's right on the street. We'd love to come back.

Delicious food and drinks. The selection is great and there is something for everyone (vegetarians and vegans). Service is also super friendly. The only thing you can complain about is that the cake wasn't ready at 4 p.m.

Kässpatzen totally dry. Roast crust is salted and no longer juicy. Ambiance in the outdoor area is like a beer garden. Only the service was very nice. Wouldn't go there again.

I think the “cook” or operator has never been to a real Bavarian restaurant. The beer garden is really nice, the beer is delicious, but the food? The Bavarian sausage salad at least didn't deserve the name. But service is ok.

I recently visited Spatzl am Aasee in Münster and overall had a good experience. Most of the food was excellent: the white sausages were perfectly prepared, the pretzels were fresh and tasty, and the shandy tasted great. A small point of criticism concerns the Obatzta - the Camembert used was too bitter, which made the taste a bit unbalanced. A milder Camembert would have been better here. The staff was super friendly and the orders arrived quickly, which made the visit very pleasant. Another aspect that influences my rating is the location of the beer garden. It is located directly at a busy intersection, which causes a lot of noise and somewhat spoils the cozy atmosphere.

*edited review* After this incident, the management immediately took care of it and informed me that from now on I would only be allowed to collect money if I presented the invoice. This review was taken to heart so that an incident like this doesn't happen again. :-) _________________________ Original review: We were there with a larger group. The food is quite expensive for the quality but tasty, the beer garden is nice and the service was attentive and well organized throughout the stay. We then paid separately. However, when we collected bills of around 50 euros or more, the waiter automatically told us 2 euros more than we had to pay. This only became apparent after we wanted to take the bill with us. My friend and I were the only ones who requested the bill - after the payment process - and wanted to take it with us and thought that - even though the waiter said the adjusted amount twice - we had simply misheard each other and therefore said nothing. When we told our friends about this after our visit, they added up what they would have had to pay and from around 50 euros they somehow strangely said 2 euros more than they had to pay. I would like to point out that in this restaurant you should perhaps only pay once the bill has actually been printed out. ____________

I can't say anything about the food because I only watched football and drank beer there. Great atmosphere outside, I haven't been inside yet.

Ordered fries and bratwurst in a roll in the self-service area during the European Championships. Waited 50 minutes. Delivered cold with a note to please wait in the self-service area. I did this for 35 minutes and then sat down 5m away. I didn't wait 50m for 2 little things and the store was only half full.

Completely inflated prices at one of the most beautiful locations in Münster. Type of beer with a 5 year old holding a measure on the label.

The Spatzl is a type of Bavarian restaurant in Münster. I had liver dumpling soup first. The dumplings tasted very good but the broth was from Maggi. The main course didn't taste like Bavarian style either. The price level is also higher than in BGL. I was there two weeks ago. This could definitely be better. Attention ⚠️ Only card payment possible!

Nice big, green beer garden. We were warmly welcomed and served very friendly. The food was very tasty, good portions and nice and hot! Finally, I got my main course for free because the waitress found out that it was my birthday. That was a big surprise and joy! We would go there again at any time, even if it wasn't my birthday!

Cheeky prices, bad service! Condition to watch European Football Championship: you have to be there 2 hours before kick-off. Otherwise you won't get a reservation. Absolute impudence!

We had a very nice evening with good food and despite a few rain showers we were able to sit outside the whole time thanks to blankets and an awning. Beautiful, authentically Bavarian beer garden atmosphere.

The ambience and service were top. The Camembert was very tasty. The steak was OK but had two tough spots. The dark beer is quite soft, doesn't really taste like dark but that's a matter of taste. Parking is quite difficult there. Prices are relatively high.

Were there for the first time on May 1st, 2024. Went to Lake Aasee. Had a drink there first. It was very busy there, but we still got a table. Weather was just great. We can recommend.

It was a shame and not for the first time. Authentic decor, food and beer. Very friendly and attentive service. Only 4 stars because the beer price is outrageous. Even in Munich the measure only costs €8.10 (e.g. Augustiner Wirtschaft on Marienplatz - the ultimate tourist destination). Nevertheless, the prices for the food are already very high and more expensive than we know from the Munich area. Greetings from a half-Munich woman and a Munich resident living in Münster.

Service was nice, served quickly. It's really nice to sit there. However, the food was only served lukewarm and the quality of the food was not outstanding.

Super nice staff, great location, great food

Yesterday we had dinner with 6 people and it was great. We sat outside... The knuckle was amazing, really tender and crispy. But the others also enjoyed it very much. The service was also very nice. So all in all, highly recommended.

Nice ambience, nice service. Would have liked to order more but the service couldn't keep up with the number of people. Everyone ordered liver loaf rolls. Some had super large discs and others unfortunately only had the small end piece (for the same price). Food on the other tables looked great.
