Almost authentic food, price-performance ratio is completely fine

Had been there several times in the past, unfortunately a bit disappointed this time. Five of us came with a small child, unfortunately the table that was assigned to us was much too small and narrow. We were only given a card with two pages where most of the food had nothing to do with Croatian. Others got the big card. Why? The service seemed a bit annoyed. Food was good. In my opinion, the salad that you got at the beginning was no longer as fresh and not lovingly prepared. I ordered a minced steak filled with sheep's cheese. Unfortunately the sheep's cheese wasn't in the minced steak but on top. It's a shame, I was really disappointed

Delicious with lots of meat - as you would expect from Croatians. Our dog was also allowed in.

Our conclusion: we won't eat here anymore. There is 1 hearty vegetarian dish. This is not up to date. And all of our orders were extremely over-spiced with garlic. The butter vegetables on the side were almost raw. Too bad!

I had reserved a table here for a class reunion, which unfortunately wasn't noted. So our reservation was lost. Luckily there was still a free table that was large enough so that no “damage” was caused. But something like that shouldn't happen. I was satisfied with the service over the course of the evening, the food was okay.

Terrible! Wanted to order food, prices are much higher than shown on the menu. After I asked why the prices didn't match, the waiter became loud and violent, and we immediately left the store.

Minced meat was grilled so much that it tasted bitter The pepper sauce was most likely from the bag. Only cash payment possible!! However, there was no sign at the entrance or restaurant

Siblings meeting in Eisenach… Croatian for dinner, my enthusiasm was so-so at first. But the food was just delicious!!! The service was good, the atmosphere was a bit reminiscent of a hall with seating, we sat in the winter garden. A lot of people can fit in there. As already noted… the consistently delicious food was the decisive factor: again at any time!!!

We had dinner with 5 people. Once we were assigned our table, it took an eternity for our drink order to be taken and arrive. In between, the restaurant specialist came and told us that the food would take some time. It still went quickly. However, the employees didn't have an eye for empty glasses and plates. After repeated instructions from us, the plates were taken away and more drinks were brought. The food is delicious and very plentiful. The children's plate with schnitzel and fries is so much that our daughter couldn't manage it.🙂 What we didn't think was so great at the end was that you couldn't pay with an EC card, only cash. We then went to the nearest ATM and got money. Apparently the staff have a lot of trust in their guests. A note in the entrance area would not be bad, so you could be prepared for it.

-Das Personal ist zu Stoßzeiten überfordert -Die Zeit bis zur Bestellung ist dadurch sehr lang -nach Rechnungserhalt wurde mittgeteilt, das gerade "ihr Gerät nicht funktioniert" Absolutes no go! -keine Info dazu schon bei der Bestellung und auch kein Hinweisschild am Eingang. Ein Blick auf die "Rechnung" sagt sofort aus, warum. -keine Adresse, kein Inhaber und auch keine Steueridentnummer auf dem Zettel. -würde mal vorsichtig behaupten, das hier das gesamte Bargeld an der Steuer vorbei geht, was Betrug wäre. -Sophienaue kann ich dadurch nicht empfehlen!

I enjoyed it very much. The portions were almost too big. But just right after a long hike.

We had dinner with about 15 people. The food was okay, but not really a highlight. The starters and main courses were served quickly, but that was about it with service. If you don't want to earn anything, that's how you do it. All the glasses and bottles were empty and the waitresses didn't ask if you wanted anything else to drink. The dessert order was not passed on to the kitchen until the second request 1/2 hour later. Oh, and dessert was completely forgotten! No recommendation from me.

Starter was generous and tasted good. Only the “bread” basket was just loveless bread leftovers, a bit of baguette, a bit of white bread and some other bread. Main course, the meat had no taste, it tasted more like water. The rice side dish was tk as if it came from Edka. In addition, the plates were touched so that the thumb was essentially in the food, and the glasses were also touched at the top (where you drink) instead of at the bottom. We also had to point out three times which drink we had ordered because it simply didn't come. In terms of ambience, it is well located and you have a nice view. Facilities well, the table lamps and decorative lamps were off and didn't come on. In addition, salt and pepper were missing on many tables

A nice restaurant in itself, the staff would be more competent and the food would be tastier. The main course was the Croatian pan, the croquettes were not cooked through, the meat consists of 99% only water, no taste, the vegetables came from the frozen food as they looked and tasted. There was no salt and pepper on my table like the others, the decoration worked very well, not at all. The employees should stop constantly having their thumb on the plate where the food is, their hand goes under the plate! In addition, the top of the glass is touched, where you drink from it there are hand prints from the waitress. Not very hygienic. A little tip: please touch the bottom of the glass, thank you. Otherwise everything was quite nice.

A very nice restaurant with a wide range of offerings, including for children. It is very clean and the service is very friendly. There is plenty of parking space here. The restaurant is recommended in Eisenach

Unfortunately closed Saturday evening even though it didn't say anything or have been written about anywhere. No one on the phone… what a shame!

I always come back because of the good selection, the fresh and well-prepared food at a fair price. The restaurant offers a lot of space inside and outside. It's cozy too. The location and parking couldn't be better. I also like to invite friends here. The menu is online and I have already tried almost all of the menus. Thanks for the offer! Thanks to the staff who often have a lot to do at peak times and still remain friendly. Please please Please only provide information about closing times such as holidays on your homepage and at the door, and ideally also on the display at the side of the road. It's annoying when I invite extra guests, plan and then stand with them in front of a closed door, where there is no information. 5 stars! TOP

Good restaurant just a little understaffed, we had to wait a long time but it was worth the wait

After 1.5 hours of driving Closed on Sundays although opening times from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. are also stated on the door. Not good service. However, the ambience seems nice, which you can see through the windows.

Looks very good from the outside. Unfortunately it was closed at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 10th, 2024??? There was no indication of changed opening times and no one could be reached by phone.

Everything perfect, delicious food, friendly service and nice atmosphere and all for a reasonable price. Definitely worth it!

Restaurant Sophienaue offers authentic Croatian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The food is fresh and tastefully prepared, and the grilled dishes and fish specialties are particularly recommended. The service is friendly but not very attentive when it comes to the drinks. The atmosphere is inviting. Price/performance is right here, nice portions, good price. “Smaller ones”, which tend to be longer wait times, are worth it in the end for the dessert. Pancakes with hot raspberries and ice cream very tasty. We will come back!

Great cuisine and friendly, courteous service

We were at the Sophienaue restaurant for lunch on a Monday and were seated at a table in the winter garden. Sunlight illuminated the room through the large glass windows and doors. The tables were nicely set and were waiting for other guests to arrive one by one. Our orders were taken very accommodatingly. After a reasonable wait - the drinks had already been served promptly - we received our food. The grilled meat plate not only looked good, but the different types of meat were all grilled to perfection, very well seasoned and juicy. The lamb fillet on the other plate was also very good, cross on the outside and buttery tender on the inside. I ordered a garlic sauce as an extra. This came in a separate bowl, was very tasty and went perfectly with the fillet. Overall, a great lunch, well-chilled drinks, nice ambience and friendly and very accommodating service. Thank you for the good hospitality. It wasn't our first time here and we'll definitely be back.

Everything was right. Taste, price, especially the service. There was a free soup as a greeting from the kitchen. Price/performance is only slightly depressed by the high drink prices.

Very good food, great location, nice staff

I'll start with the positive things: The food tasted very good and the service was also very friendly. You didn't have to wait too long for food and drinks either. But now to the negative things that made me a little angry. The interior is very dark and I think you could pay a little more attention to cleanliness. When I sit down at the table and see a bunch of dead insects in the lampshade next to me, I don't necessarily feel comfortable. Furthermore, I find some of the dishes carelessly prepared. If the menu says a small salad as a side dish, I expect a small salad and not just a slice of cucumber and tomato. You're given a salad at the beginning, which itself tastes very good (including the dressing), but I think it's absurd to add the tomatoes to the salad with the stalks intact. Nevertheless, I can recommend a visit.

The other plates were also well filled and I didn't hear any complaints. Winter garden very spacious. Staff friendly Only, they probably played Croatian music. Not unusual in a Croatian restaurant, but then the news in Croatian was a bit too much.

Delicious food at fair prices. Friendly staff. Large amount of space. However, I find the winter garden a little daunting. But that's a matter of opinion.

Unfortunately we won't be coming back. Wine and beer were okay. The salad for the main course too. Garlic soup was more like garlic sauce with soggy toast and the main course was cordon bleu with mushroom sauce - the sauce was the garlic soup only without garlic - the cordon bleu was not cooked through at most. The pepper pan was served with ready-to-cook sauce and the meat wasn't really that good either - Croatian cuisine is truly different. . The service was nice and quick but for us it was only a one-off visit.

Unfortunately expectations were not met We were guests as a group (8 people) after a hike. The ambience invites you to spend a cozy evening. Unfortunately, the service seemed very stressed from the start. Quickly away from the table and not very communicative. Unfortunately, the food also did not meet our expectations. Both the starter and the main courses were not of good quality. The grilled pepperoni tasted sour. The white bread served was dry and hard and for the main course, hunter-style pork loin, the sauce tasted like a ready-made mixture. (not the first time in the reviews as a guess). In terms of price, you can't say anything negative. For a main course between €14 - €18, it's neither too cheap nor too expensive, but not worth the price in terms of quality. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

The look of the restaurant is very appealing. The service is very good, although they were very busy during our visit, they kept a cool head and were always friendly. But the food is the highlight, not only in terms of quality and taste, but also in terms of price, which is why people tend to tip more than usual. The bottom line is, we would love to come back.

Small discrepancy with the Radler/Radeberger but everything else is just good. Garlic bread is definitely only for people who don't expect garlic butter but is simply supper. Diw garlic soup as well. Then the main courses mixed plate and Croatian plate were really nice. Thanks

We've been here off and on over the years, maybe once a year. It's always delicious, there's space. You should order in advance on public holidays. The selection of dishes is good, the service is friendly and attentive and makes every effort to ensure that the guests are satisfied. Unfortunately, the memory card is a bit sparse for vegetarians. Otherwise we'd love to come back, it's delicious. Parking spaces available in front.

The restaurant was full at Easter. Service was friendly and orders were taken and processed quickly. Unfortunately, the menu differs significantly from that on the website. This should be corrected. For vegetarians or people who don't want a plate full of meat, only starters are available. My family enjoyed everything. I was only partially satisfied with my 2 starters. Garlic bread was good with fresh tzatziki, sheep's cheese fried very greasy with tartar sauce/mayonnaise (even though the menu said tzatziki) and dry, not really freshly toasted white bread. It would be nice if vegetarian dishes were also included on the menu.

Eating like with friends. Saturday. Full hut. Everyone rotates. And then I come. Without reservation. And I want something from the online card, which is not valid if the house is full. Everything was no problem and after 15 minutes the food was in front of me. Incredibly good food. The steak was on point. Absolutely attentive service. I will definitely be back next time I visit Eisenach.

Consumption in the restaurant | Dinner | 20-30€ Mass (of people) instead of class.. We were there as a large group and were completely disappointed. - completely overwhelmed service - miserable food, consisting of watery frozen vegetables, dry meat and watery fish that tasted like nothing, much of it in holondaise from the 10 liter bucket - Garlic soup more like garlic sauce was like a béchamel with garlic sprinkling on top - cheap toast bread as a side dish, untoasted and just slapped onto the plate - some plates had 5 garlic breads (a joke mixed bread with mush on top, charred in places), others only 4... completely unclear how many there should have been regularly - The drinks and the space in the winter garden would be positive Given the prices quoted, the quality can be seen as absolute disgrace. And it is completely unclear why the restaurant was so busy and has relatively high ratings. It is definitely not recommended and not Croatian. The Croatian grill plate is the one drowned in hollondaise paired with typical German cheap frozen mixed vegetables

It's a shame it used to be a good restaurant. We had ordered a table for 2 people, when we arrived our order was crossed off the list, we were shown a table right in front of the counter, next to the cash register, there was always a hustle and bustle there. The service(s) were friendly, but without coordination, 3 asked about the drinks/food. We had already studied the menu online and knew what we wanted to eat, but then a completely different menu came up, a number of dishes were missing (e.g. anything that had to do with lamb (actually typically Croatian). We ordered snails (they tasted good but nothing special) and the garlic cream soup, which tasted very good. The salad plates/bowls were drowned in a dill dressing. Main course rump steak (fine smell) and steak pan. The meat in both dishes was very well fried, but unfortunately the meat was drowned in a disgusting ready-made sauce that was only spiced up with garlic. The fried potatoes were so-so. All in all, we were out again after about 46 minutes, because you don't want to linger at that table. It's a shame, we used to love going there, but that was definitely the last time.

Unfortunately very disappointing. We traveled here from Hesse this morning full of anticipation to make our friend happy on her 60th birthday. I had reserved a table in advance. I ordered a birthday table with decorations over the phone and according to the service person it wasn't a problem. Today we arrived and there was nothing like that. There was no congratulations. The food, really an insult. The fries and the cevapcici were fried in old fat. The salad was already brown and not fresh. And at the end there was no liquor either. Paid a lot of money for poor quality.

Please do not misinterpret the review. The service was friendly. Unfortunately we waited over an hour and a half for the food. When it came, a piece of meat was missing. They just said it would come soon. Unfortunately it didn't come without asking. They had an event and a lot of guests. I wish they would tell us it would take longer or something. But the food was really tasty and the prices were okay. But I'll go again in the hope that it will go faster.

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtsfeiertag zum Mittag dort, mit Reservierung. Leider gab es nicht mehr alle Gerichte auf der Karte, besonders die typischen Weihnachtsessen waren so nicht mehr bestellbar. Das war nicht sehr professionell.

Reichhaltiges und gutes Essen. War dort zur Weihnachtsfeier, auch die Kollegen wollen alle wieder hier Essen gehen mit ihren Familien und Freunden. Super

Wer reichliches, deftiges Essen zu mäßigen Preisen mag ist hier auf jeden Fall richtig. Ein paar neue, modernere Ideen jenseits und zusätzlich zum Fleisch wären nicht schlecht.

Leider hat das Gesamtbild seit unserem letzten Besuch im Sommer stark abgenommen. Essen allenfalls Durchschnitt (lauwarm, fettig,...), der Service überfordert (okay, es war voll, dennoch keine gute Bedienung) und bei vollem Restaurant gleicht der Geräuschpegel einer Bahnhofskneipe. Man versteht sein eigenes Wort nicht. Schade, denn der sonst gute Eindruck von vergangenen Besuchen wurde dieses Mal stark enttäuscht

Wir waren schon öfter zu Gast inder Sophienaue, auch an meinem Geburtstag. Immer sehr gut. Essen, Service und Ambiente. Toll.

Der Abend war gut. Aber es ist viel zu voll und mega laut. Essen und normal unterhalten ist nicht möglich und die Kellner war mehr wie überfordert. Die Portion sind sehr wenig und knapp bemessen! Und Parkplatz ist eine echte Katastrophe

Wir waren bei der Drachenschlucht wandern und sahen dieses Restaurant durch Zufall. Welch glücklicher Zufall :-) Das Ambiente ist gross aber gemütlich, schön weihnachtlich dekoriert und angenehm temperiert. Sehr sauber. Die Servicemitarbeiter sind alle sehr freundlich und schnell. Als Essen hatten wir die Gourmetplatte für 2, die reicht locker auch für 3, es war sehr schmackhaft und üppig. Wir kommen gerne wieder
