The food was amazing! The fries were a bit too salty, but otherwise delicious, especially the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). Service was quick too. Great selection and fantastic dishes for kids. No long wait when the restaurant isn't too busy. 👍

Deep in Prussia, I found the best Bavarian food!

We stopped in spontaneously and were welcomed with open arms. All our special requests were fulfilled, and we all enjoyed a delicious meal. We'd especially like to emphasize the very friendly service...unfortunately, you don't experience that very often these days. Highly recommended!

We're on vacation here and got a table for three people without a reservation. This is our second time eating here. The service was very hospitable and friendly, and our daughter got along very well with the waitresses. The food was very good and plentiful. We'd love to come back.

Tourist food I wouldn't go there again

Stairs down to the cellar – and a full Bavarian feel! Great ambiance! We were there with two couples and, even without a reservation, got a nice table in a cozy corner. An extensive menu, as expected, with truly hearty Bavarian fare. Very nice, friendly, and attentive service without being intrusive. We were all very satisfied with the plentiful dishes, and I was able to enjoy my beloved "Hofbräu Helles." Since we chatted for a long time after dinner, it felt like the closing time had quickly arrived. But you wouldn't believe it: the manager didn't push us or call out "last order," but continued to serve us very well. I've rarely experienced that. Friendly and welcoming until we headed back to our hotels. Thank you so much for the wonderful evening, and on our next stay in Eisenach, we will DEFINITELY return here! HIGHLY recommended!

A very good place to drink Bavarian beer with sausages

Yes, it's directly attached to the beautiful Hotel Kaiserhof. Hofbräu ambiance and a pleasant atmosphere. We were informed in advance that it might take a while due to a chef being unwell. We stayed, and the wait was okay! Standard Bavarian fare, but tasty.

A cozy dinner was planned, but we had made a prior phone call to arrange it. Upon arrival, we three guests were subjected to vicious insults, abuse, and expulsion; the innkeeper even expressed a death wish.

The food was delicious. The roast pork was tender and juicy; we were even asked if we wanted more sauce. The pork schnitzel was truly tender, and the breading was blistered, just the way you like it. The hosts were incredibly friendly; definitely worth recommending.

Why go to Munich? The Hofbräuhaus, in the local Thuringian style, is also available here. With family-friendly prices and friendly staff 😊 Even as Franconians, we found the Thuringian bratwurst on the menu with original Hofbräuhaus beer really delicious and can't help but say: we'll be back!

Finally found a German restaurant in Germany. The food and service were absolutely top-notch. A complete contrast to the other restaurants in Eisenach. Pizza, pizza, pizza...etc. Wishing you a good season with lots of friendly guests.

We were hiking in Eisenach and stopped at the Hofbräu for a nightcap beer 🍻 and booked a table for the next day. We were very impressed with the conditions and with the landlord Ingo. I'm usually skeptical (especially) of Bavarian franchise breweries, but luckily we headed to the Hofbräu in Eisenach after a Wartburg hike anyway. Incredibly hospitable service made our delicious beer snack a real treat. "I'll never go to a Hofbräu again"...but in Eisenach, we will. Thank you, and we'll be back! PS: They also had a wonderful seasonal beer (Sommerzwickel).

Absolutely not recommended! We were here for a Christmas party and were asked to choose our meal in advance. I ordered the pork knuckle... classic Bavarian. When everyone had their food, I noticed my knuckle was missing. The waitress's response was, "Oh, someone else must have that. I'm out of knuckle."

Every year, I go on vacation to Berchtesgaden with my friends, and we eat pork knuckle there. I have to say, I had the best pork knuckle at Hofbräu Eisenach. No other restaurant in Berchtesgaden could compare. I'm amazed and can only say positive things about Hofbräu Eisenach. Top quality!

The owner, Ingo, is friendly, and the pretty landlady, Lara, is really sweet and prompt. The food was also incredibly delicious and came out pretty quickly, even though I only saw one chef. My wife and I have always loved it there. The Hofbräu on tap is also very good, and you can even pay your tip with a card. The restrooms were always clean, too.

Today, May 28, 2025, we were both here at the Eisenacher Hofbräu on Wartburgallee. During the asparagus week, we had four stalks of asparagus for the main course, "Asparagus with Pork Schnitzel," for €28.50. It was undercooked, hard, and bitter. The schnitzel came from the deep fryer and was hard, the pre-cooked boiled potatoes were equally hard, and the hollandaise sauce from the packet tasted indefinable. Unfortunately, we have to admit that at least in the last five years, we have never had such a bad meal as today. In addition, the waiters showed no understanding, but only disinterest. The chef couldn't come to us because he was alone in the rather large restaurant, supposedly. Bottom line: Don't go to this Hofbräu restaurant in Eisenach. Denise Gerlach, Lübeck

We received a wonderful welcome. The food was absolutely amazing! But the best part was the service; we've rarely experienced anything so amazing. Our waitress was in charge of the entire restaurant, and hats off to her! She was never unfriendly or stressed. Her boss must consider himself lucky to have such a talented employee on his team. Stopped in on Easter Saturday. Despite no reservation and the dining room being full, a spot was found. A good interaction between kitchen and service, despite being understaffed, it really serves the customers very harmoniously. Friendly words in between - a lovely evening. Ach Herr Jonas, ich war gestern (Samstag) selbst im Hofbräu gewesen. Sie haben (ca . 10 Kinder) nicht im Griff gehabt. Gäste haben sich beschwert und zum Teil gegangen. Die Kinder haben im ganzen Lokal fangen gespielt.habe sowas noch nie erlebt. Das Personl hatte es schwer gehabt durchzukommen ( Gaststätte war ausgebucht) Als der Gastronom was sagte wurden SIE pampig. Es ist eine Unverschämtheit hier eine negative Bewertung abzugeben! Zum Glück sind sie dann gegangen. Da war für alle Ruhe . Das beste was sie machen konnten 👍🏻 Danke an das tolle Personal und das leckere essen!

Not recommended! We paid with an EC card (and tipped €4 in cash), the landlord didn't give us an EC receipt, and we discovered immediately after paying that the bill was wrong (the landlord had overcharged €14). After immediately complaining, the landlord left us (only) €10 back on the table (again without a receipt), before he disappeared again. We were both so upset that we didn't complain anymore. We now consider these 4 € as teaching money... The landlord's actions are unspeakable! This is not how you treat guests!!

Our first visit – and definitely not the last! It was our first time at the Hofbräu am Nikolaitor and we were completely thrilled! As soon as we entered we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. We immediately liked the cozy, rustic atmosphere with great attention to detail - the overall picture is just right here. The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive and quick. You can tell that the work here is done with heart and that the guest is the focus. The food was a real highlight! Freshly prepared, beautifully presented and absolutely convincing in terms of taste. The portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is great. We can particularly recommend the onion roast roast – tender, juicy and with the perfect side dish. The beer was also excellent – ​​typical Hofbräu! For us it was an all-round successful evening that we won't soon forget. We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Typically Bavarian and delicious food

Wir waren hier 2x hintereinander zum Abendessen. Es ist ein kleineres Hofbräu ohne Bühne für Livemusik. Das Essen war lecker, die Bedienung freundlich. Die Wartezeiten waren vollkommen in Ordnung, Positiv für uns war die normale Gasthausbestuhlung, keine Biergartengarnituren. Somit hatten wir einen Tisch für uns.

It's unusual to visit a Bavarian restaurant in Thuringia, but it was worth it. A friendly host served good food at a decent price-performance ratio. The Hackepeter was unbeatable! Drinks are good at reasonable prices. We'd love to come back!

There is good German cuisine, but the taste doesn't really blow your mind for the prices. Almost €10 for an apple strudel isn't worth it, I've eaten really delicious homemade ones somewhere else for half the price.
