just come from eating. Unfriendly staff, endless waiting times and some people get it beforehand even though they ordered fifteen minutes later. And then still lukewarm. If you say something, no reaction. Never again!

The location is great WE WENT TO DINNER TODAY THE STAFF WAS LOVELY THE FOOD WAS A PURE INSURANCE THE GYROS WAS VERY POOR QUALITY THERE WAS NO SAUCES WITH THE FOOD AND THE SALAD WAS DISGUSTING THE ONION WAS CUT INTO HUGE STRIPS THE OTHER FOOD, THE MEAT WAS SO HARD THAT A MAN ALMOST BROKE HIS FINGERS CUTTING IT

We stayed here in August 2024. The hotel is a disaster! Dirty room (hair everywhere, under the bed and bedside table has probably never been wiped, just disgusting) moldy joints in the bathroom and shower curtain, broken door, radiator totally rusted and dirty, no bedside lamp, no processes to darken it, on the 1st floor Extremely dirty carpets in the rooms, in the hallway and stairwell as well, you get stuck on the handrail, the coffee at breakfast is inedible, the sausage smells greasy (the same for 5 days), and much more. Pictures are available. We would never eat dinner here! The hotel is not worth a single star!

The food wasn't that great. The gyro meat was of poor quality and warmed rather than seared. The salad was almost a disgrace. The coleslaw looked like it came from a bucket from a discount store, the meat was dry... The service was good

The selection for a Greek restaurant is a bit poor. Liver was e.g. not on the map at all. The food was good but not above average. The prices are completely ok for the location. Service was very good and the food came relatively quickly after ordering.

The fries were served 2m away from me at a separate round table. Nobody was sitting there. No tip... Sitting there is fun. Not enough fries for the money.

Beautiful terrace right on the lake. Service lackluster and not attentive. Food to forget. Salad ok. The rest overpriced for takeaway level. That's simply not true at all. Gyros without onions...not to mention the taste. Meat smelled like a stable. When we asked customer service, they didn't understand German. Simply not recommended. Never ever.

Me and my wife really like it. That's why we don't understand the sometimes very bad reviews. However, it is a Greek restaurant by the lake and we don't expect a top restaurant there. But we always come back. It's still the same at the moment, and the prices for "on the lake" are also okay. As of: May 18, 2022. Still very good at the moment, haven't seen the room. The Kreta is an aging establishment, which deserves a facelift. The location is idyllic, it is in the pedestrian center of Überlingen, on the lakefront. The terrace is shaded by 2 large trees, flowered, and airy. The hotel is still in its original state, it needs a refresh and, above all, a good cleaning. The common areas are shabby, the room is simple, but there is good bedding. The bathroom is dated and could do with a good cleaning. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts are served from 8:15 a.m., simple but fresh and good

It's good that the portions are large. Unfortunately the food was hardly seasoned. Partly cold.

It is an okay place if you want to eat something. However, if you are interested in tasty food, this is not your choice. Considering te quality of ingredients (e.g. canned mushroom) it is an expensive spot to eat. Not even talking about the lamb meat, even after grilling it was raw, bloody and chewy...

Great terrace right on the promenade with a beautiful view of the lake. Only had something to drink but had nice and good service.

We were on the restaurant terrace at lunchtime. Nice service. The food was very good. However, it bothered me that the lunch menu (approx. €14) didn't serve any sauces for calamari, gyros and skewers. If, like me, this is too dry for you, you can pay €8.50 for a saucer full of tzatziki. In this way, the “cheap” lunch menu becomes quite expensive.

Extremely overpriced for the quality of the food. Huge portions, but unsalted fries from the freezer, tasteless gyros, boring salad. Unfortunately, the staff only understood half of it, brought twice the portion of tzatziki than ordered and, when packing up the leftovers, ignored the fact that fries should be packed separately from the gyros. Ambiance is ok for sitting outside, but definitely not for these prices!!! Thank you, never again.

Due to some negative reviews, we initially considered whether we should eat at Crete. MY wife and I were pleasantly surprised. You can sit nicely under the trees with a wonderful view of Lake Constance. We ordered feta saganaki and zucchini with tzatziki as starters. Then a portion of olives, which was very large! And the ouzo is really tasty. Then sirloin skewer. We shared that too. Because there were 2 skewers with 4 tender pieces of meat each with fries, rice and tzatziki and salad. The plates at the neighboring tables also looked good, especially lamb with eggplant and cheese gratinated looked appetizing. We started talking to nice people at the next table. They were happy too. It was a really nice evening all around. We're told there's been a change of ownership. So forget the bad reviews from before and try it out for yourself.

Overpriced, food doesn't taste good.

Were there on May 1st and was very busy, but the staff was very friendly and the food was very good, no long waiting times. Everything very clean. Well laid out menu.

THE WORST FOOD I've ever been served. Let's start with the service: the young people were listlessness personified. And that's how we were served. For the first time we were brought the wrong starter, which isn't a bad thing... when we complained about it, we were apologised, just silence. Drinks: Among other things, Freeway (Lidl?) Cola is served and charges over 4 euros for it. The prices are underground for these cheap brands. Food: When I think about it, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Starters were terrible. Saganaki served with strawberry jam! Olives and pepperoni were from the jar. Olives bitter and inedible, the peppers covered in what felt like a kilo of onions and olive oil and that was it. I asked not to add parsley to anything as I am allergic to it.. Well, with the coleslaw they weren't sure what was in it and I got iceberg lettuce in a bowl...just lettuce leaves! No tomato, no cucumber, no oil, no vinegar! Just slapped lettuce leaves there. Calamari frozen and dry. Totally chewy and no-nonsense. Rice cold. The grill plate with different types of meat was oversalted, not edible... honestly disgusting! We couldn't eat it and returned it exactly the same. We were given a meal discount on the bill, which is worth mentioning. Still 50 euros for this crap... I would have rather wiped my ass with the license than helped the owner with this minimal contribution to keep this shop afloat.

!!! ATTENTION DISAPPOINTMENT ALL OVER!!! It's a shame for the nice atmosphere. The food has absolutely nothing to do with “fresh” and “Greek cuisine”. The salad consists of pure iceberg lettuce, the olives and peppers are from a jar. The grill plate was just over-salted and the calamari with breading from the freezer... that with prices over €25 for a main dish and €8 for each of the starters mentioned. Cola (Freeway from the discount store) only the Hefeweizen was drinkable. If I could give 0 or fewer stars this rating wouldn't be 1 star.

Excessive prices, very bad food

The restaurant has now been well taken over by the younger generation… Unfortunately, sometimes an order gets lost, but you get it very quickly... and a little compensation! Down to earth and delicious… The location and view are beautiful, especially under the trees in summer!!!

Great location right on the lake. The food (Santorini plate) was delicious, as was the cappuccino. The service was friendly. Price/performance/location completely ok.

The food was ok but could be better.Not many options if you are vegetarian. The prices were ok and wine was great.

The food was ok except for the hair in my wife's gyro (which was definitely not hers). However, the portions were not as usual as with the Greeks. I would still wait for an ouzo after dinner today, for me it's the first Greek where it's not done that way. Not even an excuse for the hair in the food. The waitress accepted this more or less without saying a word. It was the most disappointing dinner on our holiday and cannot be recommended. The price-performance ratio simply doesn't fit here and neither does the service. Only the view was good but that is the case at every other restaurant on the promenade. It's a shame that Google removed the review, but why is a mystery to me.

The worst gyros I've ever eaten at a Greek restaurant. The fries weren't salted, no tzatziki on the plate and far too much fat on the meat. Roasted aromas and spices were missing. Every Greek would be ashamed to present something like that to a guest....and if that weren't the worst thing, it's also damn expensive...Never again....every kebab shop is better than Lolal

We had to wait 1 hour for a salad, pizza. Very impolite!

Incredibly expensive and the food is subpar. The tzatziki had no taste and the gyros only tasted like fat without any spice. The salad wasn't dressed properly. In addition, they don't sell real cola there, just cheap cola. I can't recommend it any further.
