Very good food, fair prices. Maybe the menus should be redesigned slowly, they're pretty worn out. The staff was super nice and attentive. I'd love to come back.

Was eating here for the fourth time now. Unfortunately, what you eat depends very much on your daily routine. This time the souvlaki was unfortunately fried to death. I could only eat it as long as I still had some of the red sauce on the carelessly prepared plate. The look of the plates corresponds to canteen food. When it comes to taste, you have to be lucky to see what the chef is doing. On my own initiative I wouldn't go to the Greek. I'm always invited.

The food itself was delicious, but unfortunately the bread was very dry and obviously moldy. When we mentioned it, the waitress drooled instead of taking a closer look at the bread and apologizing. Unfortunately the boss wasn't in the house. This is not a way.

The food was tasty so far, but the taste of the fries needed to be improved. The non-carbonated Cola, also the Sprite. If you can call it sprite. It was more like water with whatever. The staff didn't seem overwhelmed, but they weren't having their best day either. We had to wait at least 10 minutes to pay. Then at some point the boss came and gave us a discount for whatever reason. That was the best thing about going to the restaurant. Oh, we only ate there because we wanted to go to the ice meadow. There probably won't be a repeat any time soon.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and you immediately feel welcome. The service staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is super delicious. The quantity is plentiful and the prices are moderate. The boss is always on site and welcomes her guests with her warm and helpful manner. This restaurant is one of the best restaurants out of the 750 Greeks that I have tested worldwide. They do everything right here! Bravo keep it up!!!! I'll add some more pictures soon.

The food was solid, but nothing outstanding. The service was very attentive and not unfriendly, but unfortunately very unprofessional. There are fries lying on the furniture, two waiters point at them, think it's funny and leave them there. Another waitress puts the card scanner right next to it and leaves it there too. A waiter doesn't write down a meal correctly on the receipt, whereupon another waitress loudly points it out to him in the dining room and calls him stupid. This waitress herself miscalculates another guest and complains loudly inside that the guest mentions the 80c. The boss sits in the dining room and counts the bills. There were a few more such points within a rather short stay. Unfortunately, they all collectively failed in the task of creating a hospitable atmosphere.

For years the first address if you want Greek food!!!!

We went there spontaneously, there were four of us. Everything in the restaurant was already full but we were offered a seat on the terrace. It was raining heavily, but we didn't get wet because we sat under the huge umbrellas. We didn't get cold either because several heaters were installed on each parasol. That was really great. Unfortunately, the service staff seemed overwhelmed because it was so busy. The people next to us arrived later but were served before us. The drinks we ordered also took longer. The food itself was very tasty. The portions were big enough for everyone to be full. When we wanted to pay we were told that the owner would do it herself. Unfortunately, she seemed totally overwhelmed because not only the four of us outside (also several other guests) but also the guests inside wanted to pay. We had to wait almost three quarters of an hour until my husband went to her to be able to pay. The promised ouzo never arrived. If you don't eat there at peak times and make a reservation in advance, it's a really great restaurant. The owner is a very nice and warm lady. Even though it was a bit chaotic this time, we'll be back.

Absolute disaster! Firstly, there were leftover food on our cutlery. We waited 45 minutes for the food, which wasn't a bad thing because it was really full. When the food came we asked again about the mayonnaise and ketchup we had ordered. Ordered a gyro plate with salad and fries but only got the gyro plate where the meat wasn't really tasty but tasted like the day before. We also ordered a gratinated gyro with mushroom sauce that had a black hair in it. We mentioned that (it could happen, but it shouldn't). We got a new gyro after we (7 people) had finished eating. In the meantime we asked again often enough for mayonnaise and ketchup but it never came. Then we wanted to pay and we also mentioned the problems that it didn't taste good, etc. They then wanted to sell us salads because they had been forgotten and we asked for them several times. After 20 minutes no one came so we could pay so we went in and paid. I'm sorry, but two bottles of wine and a few ouzo shots will never get us as customers back here.

Very accommodating staff if you had something to complain about about the food. Beautiful restaurant, but unfortunately a bit too loud and too narrow. You feel very disturbed when a mass of people want to go to the toilets.

Food was very tasty, there is nothing to complain about. However, the service was a complete disaster. That's why everyone raves about it and why it has such a good reputation. The service was below average. Forgot starter, forgot drinks several times, got the wrong food. No one from the service was on the terrace for half an hour. There were people sitting behind us who waited 45 minutes until someone came, only to be told that the kitchen was about to close. So really service was a complete disaster. As I said, the food was delicious.

I was there to eat on May 15th, my food was totally dry and cold. When I was finished eating I only got the salt.

The fact that there isn't even any bread left with the farmer's salad is pathetic (2 dry cheap sticks as a replacement)

I ordered souvlaki and got gyros twice and it worked three times. My friends were already finished eating so I just started.

I often eat in the sauna here. Food is top. I don't know if she still works there, but an employee on the sauna side of the restaurant is extremely rude. Every time I panic inside because she chases me through the order. Extremely harsh and cheeky. The rest of the staff is actually quite nice and tries to compensate for her behavior.

For us one of the best Greek restaurants ever. Great service (especially the boss😊), great food and great ambience. It's best to make a reservation, it's always busy. When we drive to Hamburg in the camper, which happens more often, we always stop at the ice meadows in Göttingen. The restaurant is also right next to the parking space and swimming pool. We can recommend it 100% and will always be happy to come back🫠

We have known the restaurant for about 40 years. Back when it was still in the city, in the indoor swimming pool, it was great. Today it is next to the ice meadow, an adventure pool, and has lost nothing of the delicious, good-tasting food. The waitresses are very nice and the boss is warm. She goes out of her way to take care of the guest. The prices are in the normal price range for Greek food, the portion is large and it fills you up. We'll be happy to come back.

Overcrowded...We had to wait for our reserved table. The appetizer came before the drinks. We shared these and with the last bite the waitress was at our table with the main course. Meanwhile, a couple had been placed near us, waiting for us to get ready to take our place. At home I suddenly felt very sick and the food was returned. My husband also had digestive problems. We will not visit this restaurant again.

I've been eating there since I was a child. But please people, please change that: That was my worst Pitta Gyros ever today. It didn't taste good at all. Make your old standard again. A strange spice dominated the taste, and the pitta gyros was far dry. You have always made good food, so I have to change my review first 😞

Only for meat eaters - a restaurant that has fallen out of time with a clear specialization in gyros and the like. Everyone who enjoys rich mountains of meat and French fries obviously likes it very much. However, the three vegetarian casseroles on the menu are really carelessly made and do not even begin to do justice to the fantastic plant-based side of Greek cuisine. Of course, as a vegetarian you don't choose Poseidon directly - but once you're invited, you're actually spoiled for choice...

We spontaneously got there on Monday without a reservation 5:40pm seats for us. The restaurant was filling up quickly. The service is attentive and friendly, there seems to be a good atmosphere among each other. The tasty dishes were served quickly. We really liked the boss. She's the only one who gets paid. With skill she adds everything up, she gave us back the tip we had planned and increased it and offered us an ouzo on top of that. We have never experienced this anywhere before. We wish the Poseidon restaurant continued success. Thank you everyone for the lovely time there.

The ambience was great! The staff was very attentive and often asked whether something was missing or whether everything was to our satisfaction. Even with our larger group, we received our food at the same time. The portions were generous, but I've eaten better.

Despite the difficulties of the reservation, which I made by telephone on December 20, 23 with 14 people, (not reserved in my name. Guests were unsettled) The young waitress was able to assign me and my guests a table competently. Food was satisfactory and quickly served at the table. One tip: It's better to call again by phone or go there directly to secure the reservation, as the restaurant is busy.

Food was delicious, portions were good but you didn't feel welcome at all, it was packed and the next people were already standing in front of our table because the junior boss said it would be free soon, she ran the whole thing in a very disorganized way, things were better back then.

Waren Mal wieder zu einer Datenight da, ohne Reservierung hatten wir zur Primetime nach 15 min warten einen Tisch bekommen. Essen kam super schnell und war mega lecker. Wir lieben den Griechen, ist einer der besten in Göttingen. Nur zu empfehlen. Da es sehr voll war, war es dementsprechend laut ;)

Man kann hier sehr gut essen. Vor allem wenn man vorher schwimmen war schmeckt das Essen besonders gut. Am besten man bucht vorher dann bekommt man sicher einen Platz. Denn es ist schon öfter voll

Wir waren hier früher gerne und regelmäßig essen. Jetzt nach ein paar Jahren mal wieder. ...und es war leider eine Enttäuschung. Die gebratenen Peperoni hatten offensichtlich ihren zweiten Durchgang hinter sich, anders ist die steinharte Schale und die zähe Konsistenz nicht zu erklären. Mein Gyros danach war okay, meine Frau hatte Lammfilet mit Bauernsalat. Das Lamm war tot gebraten, der Bauernsalat bestand zu 90% aus Eisbergsalat, der meiner Meinung nach in einem griechischen Salat gar nichts zu suchen hat. Bei 25€ für das Gericht passt auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht. Deshalb leider nur 2 Sterne und keine Empfehlung mehr

Bester Grieche Ever ! Super nette Leute und super leckeres Essen. Gehe schon 3 Jahre nur zum Gleichem Restaurant weil es super lecker schmeckt. Update vom 26.12.23: Poseidon ist wie immer sehr lecker! Der Geschmack verändert sich in positiver Weise nicht.

Typisch griechisch, wie wir es in Deutschland kennen. Super freundlich und familiär, große Essensauswahl und doch schnell auf dem Tisch. Satt werden alle und zum Schluss gibt es einen Ouzo.

Wir kennen das Restaurant und die Inhaberin schon lange. Das Essen immer bestens und reichlich, der Gastraum perfekt im griechischem Stil. Ab 19 Uhr ist reservieren Pflicht. Vorher hat man gute Chancen einen Platz zu bekommen. Parkplätze reichlich vorhanden. Restaurant befindet sich im Erlebnissbad Eiswiese.

Das Ambiente ist angenehm, durch die Trennwände ist es nicht zu laut. Bekamen spontan noch einen Tisch. Leider sind die Preise echt hoch und die Portionen sind auch kleiner geworden. Etwas lieblos angerichtet waren die Teller auch. Alles in allem war es ok, muss man aber nicht unbedingt nochmal hin.

Eine umfangreiche Gerichtekarte, das Essen wird zu angenehmer Größe schön auf den Tellern angerichtet, geschmacklich sehr gut. Ein äußerst freundlicher Umgang mit den Gästen. Preis-Leistung stimmt, vorab zu reservieren ist empfehlenswert. Wir kommen gerne wieder 👍

Ein nettes griechisches Restaurant. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und zugewandt und hat für uns zum Sonntag Mittag noch einen Tisch für 4 gefunden, obwohl das Restaurant wirklich voll war und wir nicht reserviert hatten. Dir Getränke kamen quasi sofort und auch das Essen kam überraschend schnell. Auch wurden die Kinder zuerst mit Essen bedacht, was immer angenehm ist, weil man dann auch selbst in Ruhe essen kann. Die längere Wartezeit auf die Rechnung schiebe ich mal einfach nur auf dir Tatsache, dass es sehr voll war. Das Essen hat hervorragend geschmeckt, alles frisch und heiß und in ausreichender Menge. Selbst die Rigatoni des Kindes muteten appetitlich an. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis geht in Ordnung. Alles in allem kann man saß Poseidon bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen. Wir werden sicherlich wiederkommen.

Aufgrund der super Google-Bewertung habe ich mich mit Kollegen am Montag dort zum Abendessen getroffen. Mir ist völlig schleierhaft wie es zu dieser sehr guten Gesamtbewertung kommen kann. Für einen Montag war das Restaurant sehr gut besucht was für ein gute Bewertung sprechen sollte. Leider wurde ich weder durch Essen, Service noch dem Ambiente überzeugt. Das Essen war lieblos angerichtet, das Gyros war sehr durchwachsen und zusammen mit Pommes und Zaziki ohne Gewürz. Der Service war bis zur Essensbestellung äußerst aufmerksam. Sobald das Essen kam wurde unserem Tisch dann leider keine Beachtung mehr geschenkt. Als wir mindestens 30min mit dem Essen fertig waren, wurde ich gefragt ob ich den Rest auf meinem Teller eingepackt haben möchte und bestätigte das. Zu meiner Verwunderung blieb der Teller jedoch stehen und nach einer weiteren Bitte den Rest einzupacken, wurde mir eine Verpackung zum Mitnehmen auf den Tisch gelegt. Ehrlich gesagt war das für mich das erste Mal dass ich mein Essen in einem Restaurant selbst einpacken durfte. Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit war somit leider nicht dabei. Die Einrichtung ist für meinen Geschmack viel zu "überladen", unstimmig und verleiht wenig Gemütlichkeit. Fazit ist für mich eher ein Imbiss als ein Restaurant.

Einfach ein tolles griechisches Restaurant mit super aufmerksamem Personal - und das Essen ist hervorragend, die Preise sind absolut in Ordnung. Allerdings wissen das offensichtlich schon sehr viele Menschen - eine Reservierung ist unbedingt zu empfehlen, zumindest, wenn es für die Außenterrasse zu kalt ist.

Das war leider nichts. Ich war zusammen mit Kollegen zum Essen dort. Das Restaurant war gut besucht, so dass eine Tischreservierung besser ist. Leider war der Service, nachdem die Bestellung aufgegeben war, quasi nicht mehr da. Es wurden die Getränke und das Essen gebracht und das war's. Das Gyros war durchschnittlich. Der Reis beim Souvflaki und beim Omelette mit Champignons nicht gar. Das Omelette war geschmacklos, da half auch die Salzmühle auf dem Tisch nichts. Es hat sich uns nicht erschlossen, warum das übrig gebliebene Essen auf Wunsch teilweise eingepackt wurde und teilweise nicht. Schade.
