Delicious fish sandwiches and smoked fish

This coastal town in Usedom is beautifully situated, with incredible views of the Baltic Sea.

It's a lovely place for a short break; the service at the snack bar is very friendly, and the smoked fish is quite tasty. It's just a shame the restaurant is no longer open, because the Labskaus there used to be really good.

I've been there several times. It's a lovely place to stay, and the beach is fantastic too. 👍

A historic place, full of history and good information. Here you can find delicious fish of all kinds. It's still a little bit of the "primal Baltic Sea." We love this place. It should definitely be preserved.

We were there as a couple a few days ago and were immediately impressed by the rustic atmosphere! The ambiance is rich in history, and the fish smokehouse was our absolute highlight! We ate a lovingly prepared fish sandwich there at a fair and very reasonable price, and we were not disappointed! The fish was very well smoked and had no flaws. The staff was friendly and sociable, which is why we had a pleasant chat for a few minutes and learned a bit about the history of this place. For anyone who appreciates high-quality fish and a pleasant atmosphere and wants to take a short break (like we did on our bike tour), this place is perfect.

The saltworks in Koserow are definitely worth a visit. Koserow also has a beautiful pier.

Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed, but the smokehouse is open, serving great fish sandwiches and a very good fish soup. If you don't eat here, it's your own fault!

It's a shame the website isn't up to date. There hasn't been a proper menu for about two years. Only bistro fare, which I didn't really like. I'm very disappointed.

Historic old buildings and excellent smoked fish. Very busy during holiday season, as it's right on the beach. Parking is difficult. 15 minutes!

An absolute insider tip – Koserower Salzhütte! The smoked mackerel fillet was simply the best we've ever eaten – tender, aromatic, and perfectly cooked! It was served in lovingly crafted mussel rolls, so beautifully presented that I seriously wonder why I don't have a TikTok account to capture it! The owner is warm and authentic – you immediately sense that this is honest fish, prepared with passion. For €6.50, you get not just a culinary highlight, but a true Baltic Sea experience. For us, it was a moment when the world was simply right. A clear recommendation – we'll definitely be back!

Great location, beautiful and well-maintained, lovingly designed grounds with seating, very friendly service, and the fish sandwiches are incredibly delicious! There are also alternatives for non-fish eaters. We had Nedeln (a kind of sardine) with tomato sauce and Jagdwurst (a sausage made according to an East German recipe). Beach at the Koserow pier, great for a day trip to the Baltic Sea

Still a recommended place to eat delicious fish dishes, even if unfortunately there are only fish sandwiches and smoked fish left. The Koserower Salzhütte was once the best (my tip) fish restaurant on the Baltic Sea coast and I have visited quite a few from Kiel to Heringsdorf in 40 years. Have courage and carry on, please!

The actual restaurant “Salzhütte” has already been closed for the entire year 2024. So there is only “to go” here. You should post that when you praise the delicious fish sandwiches.

There are very good and freshly prepared fish sandwiches that are served over the counter by friendly salespeople. There are plenty of seating options between the salt huts. Absolutely recommended.

Always delicious to buy a fish sandwich there. The last time we were there there was something new to try.

Location and the rest are of course always great when the weather is good.

This is the best thing that has happened to me on Usedom in 3 days...I swear it, so help me God. I had the fish soup... OMG... Tasty isn't saying enough... it was "just what the doctor ordered"... maybe even better. It didn't come in the familiar loaf of bread, but that's a good thing because most of the bread...from the loaf was definitely never eaten and there was definitely a lot more in my plate than would fit in a loaf of bread. After I spooned out the soup...there were still many delicious pieces of fish left in it...everything was cleaned up. Afterwards a little chat with an older couple who asked me about the soup...(I won't write everything...I got a good tip for a fish restaurant...I'll stop by there) The service and the operation were MEGA NICE... after 3 days in Usedom... I thought all the Motzers had been hired as salespeople here, but these two nice ladies simply sweetened the rainy day beyond belief. To take away there was homemade pickled herring with onions (delicious...it's already gone) and smoked redfish (haven't tried it yet). I WILL GO AGAIN. I can only tell you that I have visited very nice places for 3 days so far with the best location and perfect for a photo, but the service everywhere was very unfriendly and the fish soups/fish solyanka's were definitely out of a can. Terrible. I thought all Usedom residents were born idiots Then I visited the salt hut, thanks to these two ladies I will now get to know Usedom differently... now I am sure that there are very beautiful and very nice people here.

A beautiful place for a walk and relaxation

Somewhat secluded, hidden. But absolutely recommended. If you ignore the obvious dining options on the way directly to the salt huts, you end up in an idyll. You get your food (fish rolls, smoked fish rolls, fish cakes) in a small hut and then go to the idyllic outdoor area. The meals were very tasty. Drinking is also available. Owners very friendly.

Quaint little fishing village - very nice atmosphere! Unfortunately the restaurant was closed - but there were very tasty fish sandwiches and smoked fish ;) The ones with plum jam and apples are really something special and highly recommended.

We got married in the salt huts. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed because it couldn't open this year due to a lack of staff. However, we were able to speak to the owners there in advance, who continue to sell fish sandwiches and smoked goods in one of the huts. We were able to order fish sandwiches and a champagne reception after the wedding for our small wedding party. The lovely employees and owners even made it possible for us to sit outside in front of the restaurant and they did a great job of preparing the things and taking care of us and our guests. The quality of the food was incredible. Each of the guests raved about the fish sandwiches and went back to get more on their own at the weekend. You can tell the love and craftsmanship that goes into the product. We look forward to every wedding anniversary we can visit with you and will always remember you for being a part of our big day. We can only take our hats off to so much love and passion for his guests, his product and his service. Thanks!

I was a best man at our friends' wedding. My preparations went well with the help of the registrar. The ambience was so beautiful and so suitable for the occasion. The ceremony was so great, the registrar was so sensitive and the speech was just great. The pictures afterwards were great. Thank you for this event.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, but the people made sure that you got freshly smoked fish with rolls. And so we moved on full and satisfied. People should actually get a lot more points for their effort. So stop by there and eat freshly smoked fish.

Perfect pleace to visit , best fish which i tested , perfect climate and very very nice boss staff , all food recommended , soup , fishes , buns , all is perfect there , i recommended that pleace for all famillies , not only on Sunday lunch but also on a normal day. Rustic little fishing village very nicely laid out, everything very old and traditional. Traditionally smoked fish is also sold there. You can also linger there for a while, a few meters away from the promenade or the pier to eat, we can't say anything more, but we were very impressed by the place itself, just beautiful.
