The food was okay, but the service was quite unfriendly. The waiter in the fish restaurant couldn't explain the difference between pike-perch and cod, and when we asked how long it would take for the food to arrive, the answer was "as long as it takes." We waited about an hour after entering the restaurant before our food arrived; perhaps it was due to the time of day, but we would have expected a more pleasant experience.

One of the top spots for culinary delights without any fuss. A big compliment to the galley team! The warm hospitality makes the visit unforgettable. It's the combination of elements that makes this restaurant so special. An institution in Warnemünde/Rostock. In short: experience and enjoy… Thank you. We had a wonderful time.

Okay, so the atmosphere is actually quite nice, BUT €28 for a plaice with barely a handful of fried potatoes? €22 for a bit of salad with turkey breast? That's a rip-off and you can find cheaper options, even in Warnemünde!

I first visited the Fischerklause in 1990 and was absolutely thrilled. For the past 11 years, we've visited Warnemünde at least once a year and always stop at the Fischerklause. And every time, we're delighted, feel completely at ease, and enjoy the authentic atmosphere, the food, and the warm, attentive service that always makes us feel like we've been waiting for you! Thank you so much, and we're already looking forward to our next visit in February 2026.

Upon entering the Fischerklause, you immediately feel like you've arrived at a little coastal retreat: The maritime ambiance, complete with fishing nets, ropes, lanterns, and model ships, creates a truly authentic atmosphere, just like in old sailors' tales. The cuisine lives up to the promise of the ambiance: Fresh fish prepared in a variety of ways, expertly cooked and bursting with genuine flavor. The service and atmosphere are relaxed and welcoming – perfect for a delightful lunch or dinner by the sea. If you're looking for peace and quiet, yet also genuine seafood, this is the place for you. My conclusion: If you want to experience authentic coastal cuisine with a maritime flair, the Fischerklause in Warnemünde is the place to be. We'll definitely be back!! Thank you, Sylvia and Oliver

The restaurant that impressed us most in Warnemünde. A super authentic menu, excellent service, a fantastic ambiance – and the food was truly outstanding. I recommend ordering a Fischergeist (fisherman's spirit) and simply enjoying the evening.

The only thing I would change would be the light at the exit of the toilet

The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with numerous nautical decorations and sailor souvenirs. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was very good quality, albeit on the higher end. Access to the dining room and restrooms is only via stairs and is therefore not wheelchair accessible. The restrooms were not completely clean at the time of our visit; cobwebs and dust deposits were visible in several places. A loud radio program was playing in the dining room, which somewhat spoiled the otherwise pleasant atmosphere.

We stumbled upon the Fischerklause by chance for the first time in Warnemünde. We had great food, a lovely atmosphere, and first-class service. And we learned a great story about the origins of the Fischerklause. Very interesting.

We've always felt comfortable there. I come here once a year with my family, or just by myself with my daughter, for a quick stop. Last time (on a weekday), we received a very fussy welcome while trying to find a seat. We overlooked the sign "Please wait here." The staff was immediately overwhelmed. As a thank you, we got a sneer, and to top it all off, the snotty waiter even provocatively imitated me, which I find the lowest of the low and therefore very disrespectful. My daughter and I felt unwelcome and very uncomfortable in this situation, so we turned around and left our money at the local bakery. Too bad about the lobster soup. By the way: It makes sense to hang the notice board at eye level at the entrance to prevent conflicts 😉 Regards, a Rostock resident

Very tasty and authentic food, in an atmosphere with many souvenirs from all over the world and very friendly and good service.

The menu stated "fried potatoes with fish," but the potatoes actually contained bacon cubes, which aren't even noticeable at first glance. For many guests, this is important information that should definitely be clearly stated on the menu. When asked, the waitress explained that fried potatoes here are "always made with bacon." This kind of behavior is particularly unfortunate for guests who don't eat pork for health or religious reasons. More transparency and sensitivity would help a lot here.

Delicious food, very nice and friendly service, and the atmosphere is just right. From the moment you walk in and take a seat, you feel at home.

The food is really not good. I had plaice that was cooked in warm fat. My wife had wolffish that was completely overcooked. It came with braised cucumbers (unidentifiable flour mush). No seasoning. Everything was simply missing! I've been a customer here many times, but the food is just not good anymore.

We will definitely come back the next time we are in Warnemünde.

A visit to the Fischerklause is a must during any stay in Warnemünde. Friendly staff and delicious food. We've booked the vacation apartment for the first time for 2026 and are already looking forward to it.

If I could give no stars, that would be fine. We're here for vacation and made a reservation in advance via email, which we also received confirmation of. Today we find the door closed. We were very disappointed and have never experienced anything like this before.

We stopped in spontaneously for dinner. A wonderful atmosphere, just as the Baltic Sea should be. Very friendly service. The food was very good. The mashed potatoes with herbs and Parmesan were simply heavenly 😋

Wir wollten an einem Dienstag dort essen gehen und hatten eine bestätigte Reservierung für 18:00 Uhr , nur leider war an diesen Tag Ruhetag ; obwohl im Internet nur der Montag als Ruhetag ausgewiesen ist. Auf eine Mailanfrage nach dem Grund wurde erwartungsgemäß nicht geantwortet . Ein Stern ist da noch zuviel !!

The Fischerklause is idyllically located on the Alter Strom. Unfortunately, you can't see any of this from the restaurant because no one is allowed to sit at the almost "famous" window tables. There are also cheeky and derogatory comments from the waitress like “where are we going if everyone wants to sit in the first row”. There are restaurants that thrive on tourist traffic and there are restaurants that people like to come back to again and again. This one is neither. Apparently guests are just a nuisance. They're probably just trying to fob off 20 older guests a day with high prices and poor quality so that they can make ends meet. The remaining guests are kicked out.

As always, very tasty, it's a shame that the price and performance are a bit different. 35€ for the fish plate, yum. Nothing has changed at all (which is a good thing), but the price has already skyrocketed.

We had eaten plaice, unfortunately we were very disappointed, one side was well fried, the other side was black and wobbly, the smell was strange, as if the fat was old and that for 29.00 euros. Sorry, that doesn't work.

Personally, I thought the food was very good. But the portion could have been a little larger. But otherwise highly recommended. It's best to reserve in advance.

Absolute disappointment. A lot of money for little food. The service fluctuated between a frosty dismissal at reception and later on, overly friendly. The food? Okay quality, but the portions were outrageous. It was a senior citizen's plate, probably tailored to the clientele. Fried potatoes? A single sliced ​​potato. The "fish platter"? A scampi skewer and otherwise just mini fish bites. And all at completely exorbitant prices.

The food was delicious. I had a hamburger schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad. The waitress was very friendly and was very good at remembering who ordered what. Even when we just put the empty glasses on the edge of the table and asked if we could have another round, the waitress knew every single drink without asking again. The restaurant is nice and quaint and clean. A great place to feel comfortable.

I am thoroughly disappointed. I was initially invited to a social evening with a completely open mind and was quite impressed by the location and concept. However, upon entering the premises and later on, the furnishings and sanitary facilities appeared very dusty. The service was also cold and anything but personal. We also agreed on the food: for the prices quoted, the taste of the fish was average at best, the portion size was an absolute joke (I had the "large" fish plate, we had to stop somewhere else afterwards to fill up) and the cucumber salad was completely wildly seasoned. Given the many alternatives in Warnemünde, it's clear: you can save yourself a visit here - in the truest sense of the word.

An absolute MUST if you want a beautiful historical ambience in maritime garb. Service really good, friendly, fast, quick sayings. We recommend the spicy heather soup and an Alster. Price-performance completely OK. Gladly again and again.

Wir waren dort am 18. Februar 2025 Abend essen. Bestellt wurde eine Soljanka, eine Bouillabaisse. Hauptgerichte Zander mit Rahmwirsing, Brathering mit Bratkartoffeln. Die Soljanka war doch recht versalzen, die Bouillabaisse sah schon merkwürdig aus und schmeckte nicht einmal merkwürdig. Sie war einfach nicht essbar...Gemüse das in einer halbkalten Brühe schwamm, von Fisch wenig zu sehen oder zu schmecken. Den Namen "Bouillabaisse" hat dieses "Süppchen" ( schon das ist zuviel) nicht verdient. Das für 9,80€ , ganz schön frech. Wurde von uns als nicht essbahr reklamiert und auch auch nicht berechnet. Die Hauptgerichte kamen dann 30 min später......Der Zander mit Rahmwirsing schmeckte , war aber nicht heiß. Die Bratkartoffeln mit dem Hering waren kalt, gingen zurück und kamen dann halbwegs heiß an unseren Tisch. Portionen insgesamt klein. Teures Essen auf mäßigen Niveau. Insgesamt ist die Fischerklause keine Empfehlung. Da hilft auch die gemütliche Atmossphäre nicht.

Every winter we go to Warnemünde once and of course we eat at the Fischerklause. A very nice restaurant and where the food is freshly prepared and of course tastes very good. The service is friendly and responds to your wishes. I would like to thank you again for that. VG from Thuringia see you next year in February

Sicherheitshalber hatten wir eine Woche vorher reserviert, und das war auch gut so, denn spontan bekommt man an einem Samstag Abend vermutlich nur selten einen Platz. Wir wurden ausgesprochen freundlich bedient und das Essen (Fisch in der Strindberg-Version) war sehr lecker. Wir kommen im Sommer gerne wieder!

We have been to the Fischerklause several times in the last few years. The food is good, but unfortunately price and performance no longer match. We won't be coming back for the time being.

Friendly, brisk staff. A great atmosphere, rather inconspicuous from the outside. The food is very nicely prepared and extremely tasty.

My fish was really delicious, unfortunately the fried potatoes only saw the pan for a short time and were floating in the fat on the plate. My companion had plaice, which was almost cold and had little fish meat. You can eat better fish in Warnemünde for this price.

I had dinner there with friends on December 29th (60th birthday) and was so disappointed with my meal for just under €30. The plaice wasn't worth the money - it was so small and had nothing to it, the fried potato portion was a joke! The other food wasn't any better! The taste was good but the portions for the money were more than meager. Never go to the Fischerklause again!!!

My personal favorite shop in Warnemünde. Always delicious fish.

We've wanted to eat here for a few years, but never pre-ordered and therefore couldn't get a seat. As with most restaurants here, pre-ordering is a must. Now we have finally done it. The ambience is really beautiful and exactly how you would imagine a Fischerklause would be. Beautiful decoration, great atmosphere. Good drink selection. Unfortunately, the food didn't burn us all. The food was bland and the pike perch was probably fried to death in the pan a second time. Despite the great atmosphere, it is not a good price/performance ratio.

Unfortunately, the service was very, very hectic... yes, it was very full, but that caused a lot of unrest and there was no comfort. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great, the cucumber salad was too salty, the service knew it and it was sent anyway, the fish was unfortunately on the pan for too long and therefore too dry. Unfortunately very very disappointing.
