It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food was excellent, the service incredibly attentive, so we didn't have to wait at all for our beer and wine refills, which had been put back in the wine fridge for us. They had a perfect eye for every situation. The service deserves a sixth star! I highly recommend this restaurant.

With a group of 14, the service was friendly and attentive, but overwhelmed by the number of guests. The food was of good quality, but unfortunately, we had to wait almost two hours for the main course. Two colleagues left early because they were hungry. Bread at the beginning and a complimentary schnapps afterward didn't compensate for the disappointment. When we brought this up, the owner was uncooperative. Recommendation: come with a maximum of two people.

The Kortumstube is a very popular meeting place here in Mülheim's old town. The owner is very energetic and friendly, almost always spreading good cheer, even when it's really busy and the place is packed. The food is also very good, but unfortunately, if you've been there often, you'll quickly get through the menu. Then, food-wise, it gets a bit boring. Another thing: without a reservation, it's hopeless on some days to just pop in for a spontaneous meal. We've often left disappointed, with no table available, no matter how hard we tried. However, it's also a great place to enjoy a few beers or other drinks with friends, especially in the summer when you're outside. You almost always run into people you know there. It's also recommended for private parties; for very large gatherings, the Kortumstube sometimes offers private events, and it's always a popular choice for company parties, for example. It's truly a gem here in the old town!

We stopped in hungry, and I have to say I had one of the best cordon bleu I've ever had here. It was superb in both preparation and taste—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and very generously sized. The fried potatoes were also delicious and truly deserved the name. The small salad wasn't your standard fare; it came with a lovely dressing, and the ingredients were finely chopped. I really appreciate that, especially compared to some other restaurants that serve half a tomato and two-centimeter-thick slices of cucumber smothered in generic dressing and call it a salad. Another nice touch: you can choose two side dishes to go with your meal. The service was also excellent—attentive and attentive, with regular check-ins. Since the restaurant was quite full for a Tuesday, it seems to be popular with the locals in Mühlheim. 😁 A big thank you and a definite recommendation from me!

The restaurant is located in the heart of Mülheim an der Ruhr's small old town, with outdoor seating directly on site. The service is attentive and friendly. In addition to schnitzel variations, the menu also includes homemade meatballs and pasta dishes. I chose the spaghetti with mushrooms and pork fillet strips. Fresh mushrooms and perfectly cooked pork fillet strips, combined with a creamy sauce, made the meal a true delight. The Kortum-Stube also scores highly when it comes to drinks. In addition to pilsner and wheat beer, there's a Tegernseer light beer on tap. A rare find in local restaurants and highly recommended. The location with a view of the half-timbered houses, the service, and the quality of my meal warrant only the highest rating: five stars.

Normally, there's not much to say about this restaurant. It's known for good, hearty food. Very tasty. I've always loved coming here. As a single person, it's always manageable for two people, but it's always advisable to reserve a table.

Good food, poor service. We made a reservation for 6 people at the Kortumstube on a recommendation. I had reserved an outside table for 7:00 PM a week in advance. The table was occupied, and the owner/chef? seated us inside, saying, "The table is still occupied, please sit inside while you wait, I'll bring you the menu and organize everything so you can sit outside and eat." He was actually very helpful and funny... But sitting outside wasn't going to work out, and since the weather was perfect for sitting outside and there was a community market/festival going on, our reserved table was sure to be taken again quickly. We accepted that with a smile... BUT, we were then forgotten, and our food didn't arrive after an hour and a half delay! We arrived at 7:00 p.m., ordered food at 7:30 p.m., and the food arrived at 9:05 p.m. We were so hungry, a friend only ate two bites and left his food. The food tasted good, but the service was not; no waiter came to take our drinks. We complained that we should have been told in advance that the food would take at least an hour and a half, or we would have left. One server even blamed us, a) because of an appetizer and b) because they had mixed up the table numbers. Unbelievable... I work in the service industry, specifically in customer service, so that's a no-go... when we finally paid the manager, there was no apology or any kind of concession, which is completely unacceptable! We had expected a round of schnapps on the house, or that our friend didn't have to pay for the food (which he had barely touched), but nothing. It struck us as very arrogant. According to the motto, these are not regulars and we won't see them again.....CONCLUSION good food bad service...we won't be back!

Located in Mülheim's old town. You can sit outside, but then you're right on a quiet street. The food is good and the service was excellent. Very attentive.

Today we went to the Kortum Stuben and ate two portions of mussels. To be honest, we have rarely eaten such bad mussels. At least a third of the mussels were completely closed and therefore inedible. The brew was watery and not attractive in taste. After we told the boss this, he left the table without further comment and the previous friendliness - which was too intrusive for our taste - was immediately gone. After that there was only the bill. Very bad form to react in this way or not at all to criticism. We certainly won't be returning there as guests again. Too bad.

Went to dinner with friends in the Kortum Stube this evening. We ordered, among other things, Rhenish-style mussels three times. The broth doesn't deserve its name, just water and the vegetables were definitely not cooked, even when dente was still far away. About 30-50% of the mussels were not opened by the three of us and therefore not edible. In addition, it was only a maximum of 2/3 portion and not a “normal” portion. The notice bounced off the owner/tenant; there was neither an apology nor a discount. When criticism was expressed, there was no longer any of the previously exuberant friendliness; instead of the ability to criticize, there was only withdrawal and silence. Thank you, never again with such a poor price/performance ratio and such low customer orientation.

Totally great experience. My son and I came without a reservation. The boss immediately took care of us and seated us at the counter because all the seats were occupied. We got warm bread with a delicious spread straight away, so the waiting time wasn't a problem at all. The food we ordered was super fresh and tasted simply delicious. We have rarely experienced such great hospitality paired with high quality food at reasonable prices. Please keep it up. We'll definitely come back when we're in the area...

Fine German food in a compact space. Was quite full but managed a spot without a booking. Excellent schnitzel with the ability to substitute turke instead of pork. Service was simple and incredibly kind. The desert (pancake) was terrific. Worth a trip.

Waren an einem Samstag dort, hatte vorsichtshalber einen Tisch reserviert, was eine gute Idee war, denn es waren um 18 Uhr alle Tische besetzt. Wurden vom Wirt freundlich empfangen. Getränke-Speiseauswahl ist umfangreich. Alle von uns 4 ausgewählten Essen waren hervorragend. Wir danken dem Wirt und seinem Team für den schönen Abend. Meine Empfehlung geht hin und lässt Euch dort mit guten Essen und Trinken verwöhnen.

Goed en eerlijk eten voor een laag bedrag (in Nederland was je duurder uitgeweest). Wij hebben een hoofdgerecht en nagerecht genomen. Daarbij 2x 0.5 en 1x 0.3iter Bier p.p. Totaal 84 Euro voor 2 personen. Niet duur. Leuke sfeer en bediening. Komen zeker een keer terug?
